Maroni's is truly a special place. Everything on the enormous tasting menu is done to perfection. There is famously a cheeseburger on the tasting menu, and classic rock on the sound system. The wait staff is all relaxed, honest, and has left their pretense at home. All this is to say that there is a pervasive philosophy about what food, dining, and cuisine is about. A celebration of the low and high, and all that really matters about life and enjoyment.

Ordered chicken parm, penne vodka, world renowned pot of meatballs for an engagement party home celebration could not have enjoyed anything more! Generous portions, excellent quality, will order again!! And of course the souvenir pot will be revered. Thank you Maria and staff from the Antona family jeanne Jim Danielle Jaime Rob.

Wild boar parmesan, kobe beef sliders, world class sushi, spaghetti with meatballs, chicken Milanese, baby lambchop and the best ribs you ever had. If you go at 4pm the tasting menu is only 100pp tip and wine included! Truly the best value if you want truly unique, one of a kind fine dining at an affordable price. Hostess is a sweetheart.

Drove all the way to Northport from Windsor, CT to get these meatballs, lobster bisque and ricotta ravioli. Was excited when I remembered the original Maronis as the one in Manhattan closed down. My family and friends thought I was crazy today but let me tell you it was worth the drive in all that traffic to get this food because it is as DELICIOUS as always. The staff was very attentive and extremely helpful, even helped me carry my pots to my car. I will be back soon as the pots are empty. Two large meatballs, one medium ricotta ravioli in a la vodka sauce with a pint of bisque 😀😊

If you want to try something different and you are OK spending a stupid amount of money ($160PP) for a fun experience, try Maroni in Northport. We had the chefs tasting. Multiple courses (around 15) of absolutely amazing food. A shot glass of steaming lobster bisque. One potato chip piled with sour cream and caviar. An ice tray with shrimp, oyster and ming crab leg. Even their famous meatballs and spaghetti. Everything is just a taste, but all together, a huge amount of food. Korean rib. Kobi beef slider. Wild boar parmesan. Brought out on after another just a little too fast. Endless beer and wine and tip is included. Tiny restaurant with Pink Floyd and Beatles memorabilia all over the place including in the tiny bathroom. Service is great. A really special night. Oh yes. Dessert was chocolate mousse, home made Chipwich and crembrul.

Wow!!! Just amazing food!!! It’s on a completely different level. They don’t take credit cards. Fortunately, they do accept Zelle transfers so I was able to pay.

We celebrated our sons 30th birthday this past Saturday. To make it more special we decided on the tasting menu. Upon arriving we were greeted by Angelina and Donna. Their warm and outgoing personalities made us immediately feel at home. We squeezed into 1 of the large tables in the corner, makinig it even more intimate. After taking drink orders, they asked if there were any dietary restrictions(which they handled to perfection). The food than started coming and didn't stop until dessert. While everything was to perfection, the group had some favorites. Among them, the spicy tuna tartare, spring rolls and dumplings. The shrimp scampi was seasoned to perfection.as were the ribs. The king crab on mashed potatoes and truffle raviolis.were so unusual and out of this world. House specialties of meatballs, eggplant parm and pasta also hit the spot. The veal marsala was like butter and perfectly cooked. The assortment if desserts were the icing on the cake and came with candles. The portion sizes were perfect for such a feast of fresh and flavorful delights. Michael and Maria the owners who we remembered from their Mirpoix/Glen Head days came out to greet us as well. They are to be congratulated on perfection at every level. We will most definitely make return visits.

Had a medium pot portion of linguine with white clam sauce and it was absolutely fantastic. Literally 100 tiny clams plus pieces of clam and garlic the pot cost $40.00 and was enough for 6. Would definitely get this again and again.

Well deserving of five stars. This restaurant is my personal favorite and probably the best restaurant on Long Island. Tapas style dishes. Each one is memorable.

It's a very cozy atmosphere, and the food is so decadent. It's a tasting menu, so they just bring out dishes. The experience and food is well worth the money. I posted this review awhile ago, and I came here again, and it hasn't changed a bit. Still the best.

This place was amazing. We were a party of 8 and were seated in a dining rooms across the atrium. It was cozy. The wine started flowing and the food kept coming. Dish after dish of amazing little tastings, varied too. Clams, lobster bisque, mini grill cheese, boar bacon, and meatballs to name a few. I went on an empty stomach and could barely eat another thing when dessert arrived. The staff was pleasent and seemed to thoroughly enjoy what they were doing. This made our dining experience feel comfortable, like being at a long time friends home. Stress free and worth the price. I cannot wait to go here again for my next Birthday.

Such an amazing experience from start to finish! Warm welcome upon arrival. No official wine pairings, but we had the ability to modify our beverage selection throughout the evening. The food was spaced out nicely and each surprise item came with explanation. We lost count, but we enjoyed more than 12 delicious dishes.

Maroni's is as good as you've heard. If you're not from the Northport area, they're worth the trip. If I had to make a suggestion, make reservations for the complete tasting menu, guaranteed you won't leave unsatisfied! in an era where service is an afterthought, you'll feel at home, as if family is joining you for an experience as opposed to strangers forced to take care of you.

Great food. I was dying to try there meatballs which they had won a throw down on the food network against Bobby Flay some 13 years back. I was disappointed that the current recipe is not the same as what won the throw down. The old way was beef the current ones are made with beef and pork. Even though I was disappointed that they were not the orginal they were still good. The restaurant does not have a menu they do tastings . I have to say this is a great way to try everything. The Korean ribs were one of the best ribs I ever had. Now you have to wonder why grilled cheese in a up scale restaurant. Well the grilled cheese is made with truffle oil and honestly it was my favorite tasting of the night. Also if you like 60 to 70s rock you will love the atmosphere which has a signed guitar from the rolling stones . They had a frame with Beatles tickets but the best was in the bathroom. It is done in Pink Floyd tiles from there album covers. But the best is a letter from Roger Waters. Can't wait to go back

J

This is definitely our go-to place for a special night out. This last time had to be the best food ever. Starting with the amazing lobster bisque, moving on to the raw bar, a choice of sushi made to order by the new sushi chef, ravioli in cream sauce, quail eggs, lamb chop (!), etc, etc, etc. Yes, the space is tight. Yes, the service of each course can be a bit speedy. But the variety and quality of the food, the bountiful pouring of wine, the friendliness of the staff make for a truly good time.

I went with 7 other ppl for the food tasting. When I say each and every plate was excellent I mean each and every plate! There wasn't one of the other 7 who thought otherwise. The food tasting is $140 per person and that includes appetizers, dinner, alcohol, dessert and gratuity! Until you go here for the food tasting you haven't eaten great food, from beginning to end ANYWHERE!!!

The best restaurant on the Island, as it has been for years now. Constantly evolving while staying true to its soul. The classics will all be there, and so will some new surprises. Still the best space for a restaurant on the entire island, too. And, the takeout lives up to the dine-in. Frankly a steal at its price point; in the city it would cost at least double. True gem.

The food and service were amazing! 16 course dining experience inclusive of wine. Initially I thought the servings were small but they were just right. It was worth every penny!

02/06/2020. Thursday evening. I don't know where to begin. Let's start as we walked in through heavy drapes after the front door. At 65 years young, we entered to Greatfull Dead Sugar Magnolia. Continuous music of mellow Dead and Beatles. Greated by Donna and told us to take any table we preferred. Decor is spectacular, with Beatles, and 60's memorabilia , including a guitar signed by mick Jagger and Keith Richards. We had a reservation for their full tasting menu. Started with an espresso size cup of the most amazing seafood chowder. 13 to 15 courses later, (I lost count), we had a a desert tasting of 4 deserts. We even took food home that we couldn't finish from some of the courses. Caviar, Sushi, oysters, ribs, ravioli, rigatoni, Kobe sliders and more. Best of all, your personal waitress keeps a watch not to over load the table and not rush you. She keeps your wine glass full at all times. Donna is with the company 15 years and loves questions. Very personable. Our last course before desert was their signature meatballs with spaghetti and I don't remember the sauce and a wild boar parmigiana. About 3/4 through the meal the owner came over to make sure all was good. Well, all was great. Probably one of the top 5 restaurants I've ever been to in my life. We were 2 people, and dinner was 2 1/4 hours. Its was $140 per person INCLUDES tax and tip. Worth every penny. Wait there was 1 negative. They didn't supply a designated driver home. We'll have to call uber and go back and get the car tomorrow.

I don’t give out 5 star reviews often, but Maroni deserves it. My wife and I have gone to Maroni a few times now. It’s become a regular thing for us. We recommend going as a couple but not in large groups. It’s a tiny place intended for two people to do a tasting menu in a super romantic setting. This restaurant is an experience with a strong point of view. What I love the most is that it has the experiential side of it that you would get in a super fancy & ostentatious restaurant but without the stuck-up drawbacks. The food is still delicious comfort food with red sauce and great flavor. You won’t leave hungry or feel you’ve eaten anything too exotic or strange. Their signature meatballs and sauce are delicious. The owner is a bit of a Food Network celebrity and we’ve seen him on some shows. He knows how to sell his brand. The atmosphere is smokey and has a Rock & Roll motif with framed pictures referring to the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. The front is covered up with a big black curtain so you can’t see inside, creating a kind of “speakeasy” atmosphere. The service is quite good. They care about your experience. It’s a tiny place so you get a lot of face-time with the server. They know the food well and will guide you through the process. Be aware that this place is cash only and is not cheap. Stop by the ATM prior to arrival.

Awesome concept! No menu. You make a reservation and go in for what the chef has to offer. The food was sublime and we ended up eating about 20 courses. A pricey-er venue, but totally worth it! Tip is included in the bill, but that didn't stop the staff from being exceptional! Would absolutely recommend!

M

Met 2 friends there for dinner. Drove an hour to get there ( SO WORTH IT ). A very different setting with a price fixed menu and no deciding what to eat. They just keep bringing out small plates of food and plenty of it with at least 7 different courses! Incudes beer wine and soft drinks. The servers Donna and Kim made the experience so nice. You feel like your in their home not a restaurant. They make friends with you!! The most amazing dining experience. I will be back !! Thank you Donna and Kim!!!!

The food, the service, the music! We were given a gift certificate from my sister for part of our meal at Maroni. We are visiting NY from New Zealand and my sister is local and knows I like a degustation menu so it was highly recommended. We left pleasantly full. The highlights were the ribs (I don’t eat ribs but ate this one!), the oyster (my husband’s first oyster and he liked it), and the lobster bisque. I really liked the meatballs (and they gave us some to take home), the sushi, the little pastrami egg roll, the truffle grilled cheese, and truffle ravioli, and so many other things. We really loved the variety of food provided. It kept the me interesting and unpredictable. The server was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was cozy with great music playing. Even the restroom had personality! The wine was delicious too! And topped up frequently. Next time we are back in the states, we will be back. A wonderful experience! Really well priced for what it was, especially when you consider tax and tip and drinks. We would have stayed for 10 more courses if our stomachs could handle it. Ngā mihi nui ki a koe Arohanui

Used Maroni Cuisine for takeout catering for my wife’s 50th birthday. I need to feed different groups of guests 3 nights in a row. Thankfully they couldn’t have made it any easier. The food was amazing and the portions plentiful. They worked with me on all aspects to ensure everything was perfect. Can’t recommend them enough from the service to the food, perfection!

You will not find a better dining experience! This tasting menu gets more delicious as the courses go. Sure there’s a price tag, but with over 15 courses and unlimited wine you won’t hear me complaining - I’m so excited every time we go! Their meatballs are the stuff of legend.

C
CJ Redfern

What makes this place truly exceptional is that they don't serve dishes that are super fancy or that you've never heard of before, they serve outrageously good takes on the classics. Every single course we had was AMAZING! My favorites were the ravioli, lobster bisque, and meatballs, follow very closely by everything else. The wine was also delicious! This place honestly deserves 3 Michelin stars!

My husband and I went here for our anniversary on 12/30/21 it was a Thursday. I was pretty busy, very small, but nice environment. The food was good the staff were totally great and very attentive. The waitress even noticed that my husband wasn't eating some of his food and gave him non seafood options without him even asking. We paid $330 total for the both of us. I had endless wine, my husband just had soda, the price included our beverages ,tip ,and meals. Overall I was very satisfied with the experience. I felt like everybody was friendly, we were sitting right next to the kitchen, so we kept on peaking inside to see what was going on. We were very impressed with the amount of structure that they had. I could definitely see us going back. I recommend people go there to enjoy a unique experience, endless supply of food , and hospitality!

I don’t know how anyone could give this place less than 5 stars. In my opinion they deserve 100 stars. The food was absolutely amazing, the chef’s tasting menu is the most amazing experience I’ve ever had. Everything was absolutely delicious, there was so much food I couldn’t eat everything. The service was astounding, everyone was so sweet and welcoming and extremely attentive. We even got meatballs to go. There aren’t enough words to describe or explain how perfect and amazing our night was. One thing I can say for sure is that everyone needs to experience this place at least once in their life. Absolutely amazing, I’ll be returning soon

We did a pre-ordered take-out of their red hot pot of 'grandma's' meatballs. They offer 3 sizes, small, medium and large. We opted for medium without pasta which was 25 good sized meatballs made from a 120-year old recipe. The round red cast iron pot keeps the meatballs nice and hot. There were 4 adults and 2 children . We added pasta and there was even left overs. Small, cozy restaurant. Planning to try a sit down meal.

A group of us ate at Maroni last night. We did the tasting menu. I have alpha gal and am not able to eat many of the tasting menu items. We called a couple days earlier to explain my allergies. Every time they brought a tasting course to the group they brought me mine own with the foods I’m allowed to eat. They went way above and beyond to make me my own courses and it was amazing !!! And I really appreciated that!! My husband wanted to note his food was delicious too especially the oyster ! Thanks so much for a great time with great food

I’ve been coming here since I was young, and it continues to exceed expectations. The experience is consistently outstanding—from the service to the food, everything is executed with care and precision. The meatballs are a must—rich, flavorful, and always served with sauce that never misses the mark. It’s the kind of dish you can’t leave without. I highly recommend making a reservation well in advance; this place fills up for good reason. Simply put, it’s a masterclass in how to do everything right without ever feeling overdone.

Customer service amazing!! We Came in late and they still were happy to take us. I definitely recommend the linguine witb clams and Ala vodka with breaded chicken. Tuna roll was soo fresh and delicious. Chicken melts in your mouth and of course the meatball are a highlight. We went on a Thursday so the menu was all a la carte and I would recommend doing that as well. I highly recommend this place and in fact I even left my bag there and they were so kind enough to leave a sign on the door for me when I realized it was gone and they were closed, and we're kind enough tk call me the next day. They kept it for me customer service was exceptional as all employees are super nice.. I found this place on Google and actually went into RobKeys first but had to walk out because the atmosphere was insane and rowdy... moroney's is a quiet relaxing place to go to eat and I would highly recommend especially to couples on the date. Amazing atmosphere amazing customer service, affordable pricing. Def 10 stars.

This is a true tasting menu! Delicious food that can fit any palette (nothing too fancy for those that aren't adventurous) and so much food and wine we were stuffed! Loved it and would definitely come back. Service especially was exceptional and we loved everything but the bacon (which just wasn't what we expected but of course eaten!).

The chef's tasting menu, while a little pricey per person ($195), is an unbelievable experience. The wine is constantly flowing and the food is amazing. Always service with a smile. This is a once a year kind of thing cuz you'll be more than full after you leave.

Wow! We have been going to this restaurant since owner and Head Chef Michael Maroni Beat Bobby Flay in Throwdown "Meatball Battle" on the Foodnetwork several years ago. A hidden gem in the town of Northport In Long Island New York. Their specialty is the Chef's Tasting Menu. You get a little bit of everything, including their world famous Meatballs. Parking lot across the street and meter parking in front. Small, cozy, and quaint. Cash Only. No Tipping which is awesome. A must for the serious foodie!!!

Wonderful little restaurant, tasting menu was excellent from top to bottom with friendly staff. Love the decor of the restaurant, full of memorabilia from the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and Bob Dylan among others. They even had the music playing. It was a great experience.

Love this place! Took my wife, 16 and 13 year old kids. Went for the 4pm tasting menu. Much cheaper than the later times. Food is always amazing. Always get interesting dishes that you can't find in most places. Boar parmesan was the stand out this time. The music was awesome. Played a whole side of Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd. Artwork on the walls also really cool. It is a bit expensive, but you will be more than full when you leave and will have tried some great dishes. If you can, use a car service because you can also drink as much as you like included!

Amazing, unique flavors. Outstanding cuisine! I went there with my wife and one year old. The owners Mike and Maria were very attentive and went above and beyond all of our expectations. They were very accommodating that we had brought a child and let him play with the candle the entire time. We didn't know what to expect since it is a tasting menu...we were blown away by a fifteen course meal of small but delicious plates from around the world. It was a plethora of flavors and the best part is drinks were included, even beer and wine! Being a rock and roll fan what first caught my eye was the awesome rock and roll autographed memorabilia. There were Pink Floyd, The Stones, The Who, the Beatles just to name a few awesome artists that were represented with unique fan collectibles. An overall amazing and unique experience if you are ever in Northport please do yourself an awesome favor and step into Maronis. You'd be glad you did :)

Very good Italian restaurant. There are so many Italian restaurants these days it's hard to find one that impresses, but this one has impressed me. The lobster bisque is exquisite and the service is amazing to match! I'm glad they are so close to my house but I would make a trip here if I had to!

Food is generally outstanding, but the consistency isn't what I expect at a >$150pp price point; I've had 2 amazing meals and 1 that was just good. Service and ambiance are always fantastic though, and that's a big part of the draw. If you're a first time customer, the tasting menu is really the only way to go. For repeat customers, just be conscious that the tasting menu changes relatively slowly. Great if you want to share the experience with new people, less so if you're looking for a new set of surprises.

All inclusive Pricing including beer/wine/tip. Went for the 20 course meal. Most of the dishes were excellent. Some were a bit overkill. Did not need a zucchini parm toward the end of the meal. Went with 4 other couples, so we had a semi private room. Service was excellent. Beer and wine were cheap stuff. For the price, they could have had a larger/better selection.

$180 per person tasting on the weekend. Yes, you get unlimited wine with the meal but I don't think what is served is worth the money. The service is great glad I tried but don't think I will ever go back. Nothing wrong with it just maybe enough to the meal.

This place is a price fix eatery, one price per seating, all the wine/beer you can drink and they stuff you. Food was excellent and they don't stop feeding you till your about to pass out, so show up hungry. Decore was nice, small place but very cozy feeling. Staff was excellent. I only dropped one star for the price (which is outrageous, $160/pp on weekend) and that it's cash only.

Most recently the linguine with clam sauce was phenomenal, with much clam meat. Pasta Trio with chicken parm and meatballs less so. When we used to dine inside, this was one of our best experiences. No so much for its look (which is very nice), but for the service and attention. The dinners that let you sample many foods are special.

The best meatballs I've ever had. The tasting menu isn't cheap, but you get a ton of food and it's all fantastic. I always look forward to coming back here.

Food is outstanding. We had the tasting menu and the food just keeps coming. It's quite expensive and, I have trouble spending over $200 for dinner (Just food, no drinks). The service was wonderful as well. This is a nice place for a special occassion. They do allow customers to bring their own bottle of wine which they will uncork and pour for you. Allow for at least an hour and a half as the pace is relaxed but, not slow.

A marvelous prix-fix meal. 20 courses or so with wine is only $85 for lunch and $125 for dinner. The best spare rib I ever had. All the dishes are tasty. Best bang for your buck on Long Island. See my video on YouTube: Art and Travel By Dave.

Great food in this cozy little place in Northport. Can't knock the unlimited wine, although it might be nice to have a little more selection. Preparation is great, service is great, meatballs are great. The only nit is that - while you're paying good money and therefore want to get your money's worth - it would be nice to have a little more balance in the menu (ie if they threw in a just few more greens to balance out the barrage of delicious meat and seafood). All in all, this place lives up fairly well to its reputation.

After eating at Maroni's a week ago, I have been really putting off how to review it because I've been truly processing it. There aren't many tasting menu options in the area, to start. So I was pumped to find this place which offers ~16 courses for $195/person. It is cash only (or check), which is strange, but includes tip/tax and unlimited wine. The experience ultimately is fascinating. I was expecting a very Italian-influenced night, which at times it was. However, when you walk in you walk into 1960s UK music/decorations (apparently the owner is a big Beatles fan), which really does not seem to connect to the food. The decor is all in line with this. The tables are cozy, which wasn't an issue for us as the place was about 50% full when we went. In terms of the food, this is also so confusing to me. The following description will be a description of the nonsensical and random chain of events that was the tasting menu. Started with a teacup of lobster bisque, which was lovely (no lobster meat, fine). Then this "medallion" of caviar, which I could've done without. Followed by a California roll, which was fine but seemingly so random (why sushi in an Italian restaurant?). This is when I knew the menu would not really make sense/follow any sort of theme. Oysters and shrimp next. Korean short ribs with a singular gummy bear on top? The rib was fine but I truly have never eaten a heated gummy bear and am not sure I ever wanted to. Kobe beef slider-this was maybe a highlight- with a Heinz packet and 2 tater tots each-strange but delicious. At some point, someone walked around with truffle grilled cheese bites. This was probably my favorite course. Back to courses. Green eggs with a crostini. Pastrami egg roll (this was the most random to me and truly was not well done, why are we putting pastrami in an egg roll?), chicken dish, ravioli, etc. We ended with meatballs and spaghetti. This was told to be the star of the restaurant and really was not. The spaghetti was very much fine. I was a little disappointed by the meatballs, which they give you to send home with. Dessert wise, there was a chipwich, mousse, and Crème brûlée. The first two were great! The latter, meh. The service was excellent and they were really interested in refilling your drinks. Ultimately, I probably wouldn't pay to go back. Or buy the meatballs to go. It's such a strange tasting menu....If you're without other options in the area it's a solid choice if you live/are staying nearby!

You can’t beat the atmosphere at Marino’s. Intimate, lively, cool interior design, nice rock n roll. It’s a fun place to go with a group of couples. Tasting menu was very interesting but also a little haphazard. Sushi and meatballs in the same menu was odd. Seemed to start with a Japanese bent, though with a lobster bisque cup. Then went hard into Italian American. So if you’re looking for a theme, there is not one. But if your looking to get full with a variety of tastes and a fun vibe, they do it well. It’s a destination restaurant for a reason.

We were a party of 8 and The meal was rushed and we had to serve each other for a lot of the courses because of the way the table was set up Very disappointed.

Not even close to what is once was. The once funny attitude is no longer acceptable because the experience and food is honestly now mediocre. Not worth the price, time or patience. The once famous fried oysters have been greasy bombs the last two visits. Almost inedible.

It's OK. A lot of food but no wow factor. I wanted to love it... but... it's not what I'm use to at all for a true tasting or "course" menu. It didn't flow, it was more of a lot of food which people are into and wine or beer. No coordination of the wines to food. The people were fantastic, the tastes just OK. You all know when I love something... check out my other posts!

This might be one of the most confusing restaurants that I've ever been to. Each course was, in and of itself, well presented and delicious. However, it was one of the most non-harmonious meals I've ever eaten. They should call this restaurant 'Everything but the Kitchen Sink'. Dishes just kept coming in no particular order...italian dishes, Sushi, raw oysters, pasta and more pasta, grilled cheese bites, Kobe beef sliders with potato nuggets, lobster bisque, sweet Korean BBQ Ribs, etc, finishing with a mixed dessert platter. I would call the Chef's weekend tasting menu a gastronomic overload. I don't know who thought this was a good idea and I'm not sure that this was a great meal for the steep price of $160/ per person. Somewhere toward mid-meal we started passing on some of the offerings that just didn't appeal when paired with the previous 3 dishes. You simply aren't looking for sushi or BBQ ribs after Wild Boar Parmigiana and Ravioli in a black truffle cream sauce. If the menu had been more cohesive, it might have been a better experience. The ambiance is charming, staff super friendly and attentive, plus they give you free containers of meatballs to take home. (I wish I had been in on that meatball throwdown because, frankly, the general consensus at the table was that our family meatballs are better) 'Eclectic' certainly describes the confusing tasting menu selection. An interesting experience but a 'One and Done' rating.

I really wanted to like the food here. The atmosphere is great. It is very cozy, and I love the music and all the neat memorabilia. The staff was all pleasant, and I really liked the idea of having one fixed price inclusive of tip, tax, and alcohol. That being said, even accounting for the fact that tip, tax, and alcohol are included, $195 per person is a lot of money. At that price point I have very high expectations for the food. Unfortunately, I thought the food was just ok. I really enjoyed a few dishes, found a lot of them to be underwhelming, and wasn't blown away by any of them. I would absolutely come back for the ambiance if the price were closer to $100, or if I could drop by for a glass of wine and a few small plates instead of a whole tasting. Sadly, I think it is hard to justify the $195 per head price tag for this meal.

My fiancé and I were so excited to try Maroni's based on word of mouth reccomendations and so many 5-star online reviews. We are foodies, have been to plenty of chefs tastings, appreciate good food and are always in search of the best eats. Unfortunately, Maroni's completely missed the mark for us- we were actually shocked when we left dinner. While the waitresses were lovely and we had a good time, this review speaks mainly to the food itself. My fiancé referred to our experience as "a Chefs tasting menu brought to you by Restaurant Depot". We felt like majority of the courses could have been frozen, air fried and served and we wouldn't have known the difference- and while we have no problem spending money on good food, this $195pp was not justified with the quality of dishes provided. There was no balance of flavors, no correlation between courses, nothing unique, and nothing that would speak to a true foodies palate. I feel like this would've been a good place for either beginners who do not really appreciate food, or a late night drunk munchie sesh (but the price tag on that does not fit). Yes the unlimited beer/wine and included gratuity was a nice touch- but if you are looking for a chefs tasting experience where everything is perfectly curated and balanced in flavors, textures, and the overall journey- I would go elsewhere. We are happy we tried it, but we would not return solely based on the food.

A very eclectic and absolutely a must try at least once if you are in the beautiful town of Northport. Very small but cozy, this restaurant has some very interesting music memorabilia covering its walls. Go there hungry as the food doesn't stop coming. Bring cash, only form of payment accepted.

Last night was my first time at highly lauded Maroni’s Cuisine. I checked their menu online before heading out and saw their spaghetti and “famous meatballs” priced at $16.00 and thought, “wow, that’s really reasonable.” Walked into the place with my wife and was immediately informed the restaurant doesn’t take credit cards - only cash. “Is that alright” I’m asked. I say yeah, cause fortunately I had enough cash on me. After being seated, I check the menu and to my surprise, the spaghetti and famous meatballs are now priced at $32.00. I’m not a huge Italian food guy, so I’m not used to paying $32.00 for spaghetti. But so be it. I ordered a dozen baked clams as an appetizer for me and my wife at $24.00. Clams came and they were so tiny the width of the dinner fork’s prongs were wider than the width of the clam shells. Anyway, food was satisfactory. I guess the best part was the rock memorabilia on the walls, especially the John Lennon stuff (I’m a big Lennon fan) and hearing Tom Petty and Mike Campbell’s “Refugee” blaring from the speakers. ,

VERY disappointing !!!! Service was terrible ....we were 6 people sitting in an area the size of a phone booth ! food items brought out in record SPEED ! for 6 people the portions were soooo tiny...and 4 shrimp for 6 people? you had to eat SO FAST because the next plate was brought out before we were finished! We were never served there highlight dish of the *meatballs* we were told we were DONE? so I asked: Really when do we get the *MeatBalls*.....and then they were brought out to us.......truly NOT worth waiting for. We requested Capachino....OH we do not have it tonight??? NO Decaf coffee....Only Expresso. A few dessert items on a plate very tiny to share with 6 people !!! Rediculous !!! The bill came to $325.00 per couple! TOTALLY not worth it ! This is a Dining Experience not worth repeating

I've been here 3 times over the years and I have to say that I don't think I will be back again. It is a nice little place with a great staff and cool decor, but the tasting menu is just not worth it. Each course alone is good, but it is not cohesive and nothing really flows with each other to make a solid meal. I wasn't expecting to see almost the exact same courses as I did on my last visit 3 years prior. The other problem is that at $180 per person (tax and tip included), some of the courses are way too basic to justify the price. Kobe beef sliders that come with a few store bought tater tots and packets of ketchup on the side, a Korean BBQ rib (pretty good rib) with a gummy bear on top, basic shrimp cocktail and oysters (1 per person). There is unlimited beer (only Peroni) and wine so some may think you can drink your money's worth, but with course after course of heavy, rich and sometimes greasy food, you fill up quick. Maybe it would be worth it if this meal was $80-$100 per person, but if I am spending $360 for a night out for 2, I expect to be wowed. There are many places within 10 miles of here that will blow you away for the same or less.

My friend and I recently had a very disappointing experience My friend had called and made reservations for 2/20/2016 Saturday at 5 pm. She was given the specifics that this would be a 22 course tasting, cost $125 per person and payment of cash/check is accepted. We arrived and were seated by our server who then informed us that this would be 15 to 20 course tasting. We were stunned, somewhat confused. We were served 13 course tasting, then desert arrived which we turned away as we expected more. Our server came to the table and told us the next tasting would have been quail eggs but they ran out of this and which is why the desert was sent out. No attempt made to substitute/ or give us any other options for repeat of prior tasting nor was there a cost adjustment, My friend and I left very disappointed. We each sent an email to the restaurant on Sunday on 2/21. We did not receive a response. On 2/27 I called the restaurant, confirmed that this was to have been a 22 course tasting. I then related the previously mentioned. I did not receive any apology or any attempts of customer service, only that they hoped I would try again to dine at their restaurant. I told her that I would not return to their restaurant nor would I recommend them as they fell short of what they advertised.

Strange style of small portions continuously for approx 2 hours. Some good most just OK. They are supposedly known for great meatballs and I could not finish half of one but I may be harsh on that review being married to a philomena. If you like to eat lots of variety it may be ok but be prepared for a very filling dinner bill!

I am surprised there were so many 5 star reviews. Obviously these people have never been to a real chef’s tasting dinner, The food was good, but not great. It started out with a delicious lobster bisque and a “ million dollar caviar” which set our expectations very high, but it went down hill from there. Sliders of any type are not worthy to be on a tasting menu. There were a few courses that were good, but far too many that are on everyone else’s menu. Plenty of wine but no pairing. Knowing and serving the proper wine with each course is a must. There really was not much thought or plan to the courses. I also would have liked a menu to follow. And the music was terrible. I’m 70 and love the Grateful Dead, but no one ever accused them of having class. Same for the Doors. It just didn’t make sense. I expected a much more sophisticated evening. Certainly not worth the money

I’m surprised by all the 5 star reviews. If anyone has ever had a real chefs tasting, they’ll see right through this. It’s a bunch of mini portions of diner food. The menu doesn’t really flow, it’s jumping from caviar crisp, to sushi, to fried fish, to sliders, to meatballs. I don’t get it. I could see how someone who’s never had a real tasting experience may find this cute but it’s just average food being served in a bunch of small portions. Wine is also cheap and bad. They should at least offer a more elevated wine pairing / menu for a bit more. This place is just not worth it for me.

Made reservations 3 weeks in advance for 10 people for my Mothers Birthday and they try and stick us in the bar with 3 tables in the window area for $140 a plate meal. I don’t think so. The manager refused to put us at an appropriate table claiming that they did not have the staff, so we left to get a great meal at VESPA in Farmingdale. I’ve had better tables at Ginos Pizza and spent a lot less. What a disgrace!!!! The funny thing is that they called me three times to confirm reservation.

Before even being seated a number of the things went wrong. They walk us out to the alley which they called the atrium where we had to wait to be seated in a secluded area where kitchen staff walked back and forth with dishes. While we were offered drinks while waited no one else was there waiting to. When we were finally seated we were seated at a booth that was right by the doorway, a vent, and speaker. The staff did not pull the table out to help us sit down nor did they wait for us to be seated. When our server came over, we were already uncomfortable and wanted to speak to the manager. While they said they were gonna move us to a bigger table and upgrade the wine. They ended up moving us to a larger space and a smaller table. At this point, we weren't happy and the manager seemed confused. She went to get the owner and the chef came out of the kitchen. He said he would accommodate us and than he made a comment that I found extremely unnecessary for someone who works in the hospitality industry. He ended doing the exact opposite and we left. As we were walking out he seemed surprised and thought we wouldn't leave. I don't care how good your food is or how long you've been in business if you aren't going to make your guest feel comfortable and enjoy the experience. I have no plans on returning.

We decided to do Maroni’s catering menu for Christmas Eve. It was absolutely awful. Half a tray of meatballs in the garbage. Tray of penne in the garbage. Never.Again

I am baffled. The tasting menu was $195 per person. If you have ever been to an elevated, gourmet dining experience you will instantly see right through this. Highlights from the tasing menu include frozen tater tots (served with a ketchup packet), effectively a cocktail wiener disguised as an egg roll, and cheap wine. This was a $40 value at BEST...I am really disappointed with this meal and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I really wanted to love this experience but it was a flagrant ripoff. Ambiance and service were both nice for what it's worth.

Avoid tasting menu if you have dietary restrictions or an allergy. After buying the tasting menu as a gift, I confirmed that they would accommodate a dairy. We reminded them when the reservation was made and a week prior to the reservation- they didn’t accommodate at all! Instead, they skipped six courses for the person with the allergy, no alternate dishes were provided. Very awkward to have someone served and the other person ignored. Truly disappointed in this experience. Skip the $400 tasting and go enjoy a nice meal somewhere else.
