Been coming here for years. A lovely place. Sometimes it can get a bit busy. They got everything!
Lattes were excellent and the Russian tea cookies were terrific!!! Good conversation with other locals too!!
It's a great spot for breakfast sandwiches and coffee. It's a mecca for bicyclists passing along Rt 9W - seating is limited.
Nice local bakery/cafe with an ample menu. Lots of patrons, some families also enjoying a relaxed brunch with a nice street view.
Pastries are second to none. Coffee is not burnt and is balanced. It's a coffee house that I'm I've been going to since 1996. It hasn't t changed
They acknowledge cyclists come through a lot and accommodate them. Food is good, as is the coffee
Great place for breakfast. Good coffee, and a big bowl of oatmeal with nuts and raisins, brown sugar and cinnamon.
Oh my .....what a wonderful place ..food is great ...prices are great ...staff is wonderful..first time here today ...will definitely go Again and tell others to come ...food fantastic.
When biking to Nyack I always want to stop here. Food is great but the Banana pudding is amazing.
Great place for a quick bite. Tasty sandwiches, half sandwiches, and pastries. Indoor and sidewalk seating.
Perfect resting stop for cyclist to meet locals and grab some great food at reasonable cost. If you are an avid cyclist, I personally invite you to check this place out.
I really liked it. I had breakfast and they were helpful. Although yogurt was not available, they allowed me to buy it somewhere else and have it at their place.
Runcible spoon is a cyclist destination. My go-to midpoint to my rides from NYC to NYACK. The sandwiches here are delicious (maybe because 30miles in?). The names of the sandwiches are after well known bike brands which is very cute.
Neat eclectic bakery and coffee shop. Big selection of baked goods, sandwiches and brunch items. Going back for a second trip today. Located in a really interesting town called Nyack.
Great service, fresh muffins and croissants. It's great that they offer sandwiches and wraps at half portions. Perfect as a snack or on a bike ride. I always go for the brie, turkey, cranberry wrap, a arnold palmer, and if in season a pumpkin apple crumb muffin. Moist on the inside and a crunchy top. Definitely taste the pumpkin and spices. Feels like Autumn when i bite into one. The croissants are fluffy and flakey with the layering that a croissnat should have.
The pastries were great! Though I ordered hot tea I received iced tea which turned out to be amazing. The ginger iced tea is a must.
Not just a bakery! Great sandwiches, paninis, salads, and delicious. Bohemian style in keeping with Nyack, and service is very friendly. Hubby and I highly recommend.
Best House Made Ice Teas: fabulous baked goods - the morning bun and scones are amazing: love to pick up sandwiches and goodies for our Nyack Beach State Park picnics.
Love this place. Great coffee, scones and rugelach cookies. Sandwiches look great too. Caters to cyclists.
Good selection of pastries, cupcakes, cookies etc. Various fresh coffees. Has a nice lunch menu with paninis and pressed sandwiches. Plenty of seating!
Great selection. Hot fruit forward muffins. Excellent NY bagels. Nice cafe seating outside. COVID ready.
A pleasant cafe frequented by cyclists as it is a short ride from Manhattan. The chocolate-cheesecake muffins are fantastic.
We were very happy to stumble upon this lovely bakery and coffee shop. Fast, friendly service, to go with a fun environment and tasty treats! Will definitely stop in again.
Love it. Cheap food, and very biker friendly with the racks outside. And they even let us refill our water. Restroom is nice and clean too. Round trip from Central Park is around 50 miles on the bike, so it's a good turnaround point for weekend rides.
We love this place. It is friendly to cyclists. Yes I'm a cyclist. Food preparation isn't especially fast so if you're in a hurry get something that doesn't need cooking.
My girlfriend and I are so happy that Runcible Spoon is back open again!! We love this place and our favorite sweet treat are the Mexican Wedding Cookies! Delicious! The coffees and teas are quite nice and the cut out cookies are so tasty! Great service and love the young man at the counter who's very quick and efficient! Always a 5 star experience visiting RSB!
Very delicious pastries and sandwiches. I'm a cyclist and they have a bike rack so that's appreciated. They also have coolers of water that you can fill up your bottles from without going inside.
This is NOT a fancy bakery, but it was perfect. There are plenty of baked goods, some simple sandwiches, coffee, and soups. The very opposite of pretentious and yet everything was delicious, the place was calm, and I couldn't have lucked into a better break from a long bike ride.
This place was great to stop in for a bite. They've everything from wrap sandwiches, coffee, tea, iced teas & desserts. There is plenty of tables to sit, eat & enjoy. Perfect for passerbys, bicyclists, runnners & motorcycles. The ppl who worked here are hard-working, respectful & very helpful. Very quaint neighborhood in Piermont, Nyack. Be sure to stop in this cozy place!
Always a welcome stop on a bike ride. Loved there are three cheese pressed sandwich.
The weekends bring the cyclists from NYC. Nice place to purchase coffee and baked goods. The staff are saints as some customers feel very self entitled, and the staff somehow smile through it all.
Frequent cycling stop for NYC clubs. Wonderful bakery and creative sandwiches and salads. Never a disappointing bite to eat. Always satisfying. Highly recommended.
If your a cyclist you know it. You have to love any place that welcomes this many cyclists and provides bike racks and water for bottle refills. Great people.
Great breakfast spot Friendly staff Food fresh Great selection
Very tasty with more room than many other places in Nyack.
1.Came here for our first time and definitely won't be our last . We recently moved to this neighborhood from NYC. . Glad we got to come here . Our lunch meal was delicious and plentiful ! Evelin was helpful friendly, delightful and efficient . Can't wait to come back here 2. Hoping to get here today.
The Bread Pudding this place sells is one of the best me and my wife have ever tasted. We’ll be driving 40 mins regularly to get it from time to time. Highly recommended.
A wonderful selection of sandwiches, drinks, and desserts. Try the carrot cake - to die for! Liked it so much we got another to share. The staff is friendly and always seem to to be happy. They obviously love what they do.
We had the most delicious pies and an absolutely beautiful birthday cake! Thank you to Hannah and her team! Lauren
The new owners/bakers are amazing. The food is exquisite and Hannah takes care of you with much care and a big smile.
Runcible has so many options so it’s the ideal breakfast choice when everyone wants something different. Sandwiches, baked goods and pastries, made to order egg dishes served on actual plates. Everything here is really delicious! This place is a Nyack staple that I’ve been going to since I was a kid in the 90s. It has a lot of regulars, is kid friendly and has amazing, kind waitstaff that we absolutely love. It’s also a cyclist favorite so gets crowded on the weekend! The bakery is currently undergoing a nice renovation (it’s open during the renovation). Tip cash.
I went to this bakery on a whim!!!! I saw from the window that it had tiramisu and other goodies, well much to my surprise it did!!!! I found matcha cream puffs and cheesecake so I got all three and let me tell you they did not disappoint at all!!!! I love everything matcha, I can't get enough lattes, affogatos, ice cream you name it I take it love my matcha and the cream puff was spot on balancing the bittersweet taste of matcha and the sweetness of the cream filling wonderful!!!!! The tiramisu tasted like a really good latte yum!!!!! And the cheesecake was my favorite it melts in your mouth with a nice glossy topping and very delicious cookie crust!!!!! You want to treat yourself???? Then this is the place to go for elevated sweets, on top of delicious desserts the staff are very friendly and helpful and give good customer service what more can you ask for good food and good service a definite must if you're in Nyack, I highly recommend ❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥👍
The coffee was so good! I had a burnt honey latte and it was amazing.
Best place to grab coffee and desserts/sandwiches around the area!!! :D as a coffee lover, honestly hands down one of the yummiest coffee i had in a while. As a barista myself I got curious & asked what beans they used and they used very high quality beans.
Now this is a great GREAT rest stop if you're on your bike. This place LOVES cyclists and goes out of their way to accommodate. My favorite item is probably the runcible classic salad, but the pastries really make this place my happy place. Staff is friendly, and on Saturday and Sunday mornings this place is a real scene 😁
I had to try this place because of it's adorable name! A destination spot for bicyclists on the weekends, and a great place for a pumpkin muffin!
Glad it was open so I could use the bathroom after long bike ride from NYC. They have good pastries 🥧
I don't know enough about this place. All bikers stop in there so I feel safe saying that it is a good bakery.
Le.on slush to die for and soup is spot on. Barista is not the greatest so coffee black but everything else is primo
Anyone living in Nyack or who rides a bicycle has been to the Spoon. Food is good, coffee is... its ok (Gypsy Donuts is better). But its a great place to stop on a ride for a bite to eat.
Variety of bakery food cooked on premise. Muffins cakes cookies Coffee tea other drinks also available. Sandwiches are also sold there. Overall a good place .You can eat inside or outside.
Great service, I had a bltae (bacon lettuce tomato Avocado egg). Super good. Good coffee. A regular go - to when in ny.
My favorite place to refuel.on long cycles. Great veggie sandwich/rolls. Good coffee, great selection of teas and tasty pastries
Place is a bakery and very pleasant. I ordered a smoothie on a Sunday morning. Shouldnt have. They replaced it with a coffee when i complained.
Great place for a stop when riding. Prices are a bit high, but good quality.
An indispensable stop for any cycling trip with Nyack as a destination. A breakfast pastry galore, sandwiches prepared on the spot and good coffee.
Fresh bagels!! Delicious coffee. Great atmosphere. But it gets pretty packed with bike riders on the weekend mornings. You can get other breakfast sandwiches and yummy cupcakes, cookies & pastries too.
I like the name of the place - worth a Google. I like the atmosphere of the place - nobody has more bike racks out front. And I like the fact that I can sit down, and that there's always a seat available. They also have a house brew, which I think means they're putting in the effort.
Not too bad for a quick coffee. Wasn't too busy when I went but the tables and the floor could have used a sweep and a cleaning.
A nice cafe stop in Nyack, NY. A pleasant old style shop serving sandwiches and a wide selection of pastry items, coffee and cold beverages. Service can be slow and they need to pay closer attention to cleaning the seating area through the day. Prices are reasonable.
Great place to stop in for lunch or a quick bite whether you're on a bike ride--there is ample bike parking outside--or just walking around. Only problem is it can be a victim of its own success and you might need to wait a bit, especially on nice weekend days
This is the go-to coffee shop for cyclists who are passing through town. There is plenty of seating inside (and outside in warm weather). They have a wide selection of pastries, cookies, etc as well as panini and soups. They a variety of teas in addition to coffee as well.
We felt as though we were in an Edward Hopper painting which was just as well as his house was opposite. The cakes were amazing and the coffee good.
It’s a standard in the neighborhood and 100% not the best bakery in town you can go for a cup of coffee and be comfortable there for a bit of time. Especially if your a biker so easy in and out with ample please to park your bike. 3 stars is good for me
Very nice bakery with breakfast and lunch options. It's clean with plenty of seating at small tables. I often see people eating together or alone while working on computers or studying. They offer hot and cold sandwiches and wraps and other items.
Was a nice place to sit and people watch. They advertise breakfast all day, but when I was there at 1 pm they didn't have any bagels left.
The food and coffee is pretty good, but over priced. The staff (at least that I've met) were a bit crabby.
Cute bakery. We got the brownie, raspberry cookie, and Valentine's Day cookies. The brownie and raspberry cookie was delicious. The frosting cookies unfortunately were rock hard and not very yummy.
Not as good as I remember. The prosciutto in my sandwich was cut WAY too thick, like eating jerky, very unpleasant and overpriced
Great little coffee shop to hide out and read a book or chat with a friend. Far enough off the main strip to avoid the Nyack crowd, yet close enough to get what little of the vibe you're interested in. Certainly has changed a lot with ownership changes over the years but still one of my favorites. Be sure to avoid the cyclists! 🚴♂️
Lots of great coffee, pastries, muffins, sandwiches, cookies, indoor and outdoor seating and a cycling destination with 2 or 3 racks out front. But for the life of me I can't figure out why on a Saturday morning during cycling season they never have any more than 1 person working the register.
Pastries, coffee, sandwiches etc delicious but when it comes to customer service horrible. Very rarely do I get a good morning and never a Thank you when leaving a tip. Store opens at 7 nothing is ready when the doors open not coffee, muffins nothing. Told to come back in 10 15 sometimes 20 minutes. Why open the door at 7 open at 8 when everything is ready. A few times I’ve waited until after 8 hoping I’d get my breakfast before work and get there and there’s is a sign on the door. “Sorry be back in a few minutes” . I’ve waited before writing this review thinking maybe it was just a few bad days which everyone has but unfortunately not the case.
Fun coffee place... must be here for like 20+ years. Nice spot to go and grab a muffin and cup of coffee. Prices on most things are a bit high, but it is a local place, so I get it. HUGE MECCA for bikers, so can get a little crowded during peak times.
Although the soup was delicious, I was disappointed because they are not highly aware of cross-contamination for tree nut & peanut allergies. I would go back in a pinch but only because the atmosphere was comfortable and the soup was good. i would not however be able to bring my food allergic child since they could not guarantee that any of their muffins nor sandwiches would be safe.
Way too much time in line. 1 PM on a Sunday one person doing everything
I bought 4 small cream puffs - $4.50 each so I expected to be very good. The green tea cream puff was overpowered by green tea postmode and couldn't taste the custard. The regular cream puff was better and I could taste custard but they somehow messed up and the cream and wasn't smooth with small lumps. I'm used to have high quality bakeries around and this is not acceptable. You can't charge $4.50 for this failed product. And it took her 5 minutes to finish checking out and handling the package while nobody else in the store.
Very high priced not worth it for stale cookies and ok coffee
I find this place a little over priced. I also have issues with the fact that I've ordered the frozen coffee drink(it's like a frap) before and it was perfect(this isn't a cheap item for coffee milk and ice) until I ordered it from someone different, the second time I ordered it I expressed that it wasn't made correctly, it was just cold coffee and cream, no ice. Just liquid not blended. She didn't really get what I meant by explaining to her what it was when I had previously got it. So I let it go, paid and gave the place another go a couple weeks later. This time a different girl made the same drink. Cold coffee and cream, I explained it to her... She stared blankly at me not saying a word and puts ice in the cup and hands it to me. No smile, no thanks come again. I won't be back.
Nice pit stop for bike riders. Locals visit on weekdays. You could get a better value at Art Cafe a few blocks away. malawach at Art will make you salivate formweeks after you eat it.
Unfortunately it was not the experience I've had in the past. The staff is generally lackadaisical. Plus, I normally wipe my own table down ( did this pre-covid as well) but in this case not only was I wiping crumbs but I was also wiping dirt. The napkin came away gray. Coffee was good.
The food is ok. Not great but not terrible. Everything except the coffee is overpriced I was charged 7 dollars for a tuna salad sandwich which was only half of a sliced bread sandwich. Definitely a rip off. Better deli is down the road they give you a whole sandwich for the same price.
very cute cafe, very slow service. waited 15 minutes for three drinks. cookies so hard my tooth almost chipped. we waited 10 minutes for our order to be taken and another 15 for the coffees. skip.
This bakery is very beautiful and the attendant was super nice! Why am I giving two stars? Because I bought some Valentines desserts, specifically cake pops and cookies, and they were HORRIBLE. The cake pops were SO DRY AND SANDY TEXTURE, plus the flavor, was not good at all. The cookie, hard as a rock. And I paid 20 bucks for this.
Overall, this place was mediocre. The workers were very nice, but they seemed to not know what they were doing. I had to tell them three times that I wanted a cup of water before they gave it to me. Although there were not that many people there, they were very slow at preparing orders (it took them about 15 minutes to get through 4 customers’ orders). I ordered the #4 sandwich, and it was not good or tasty in any way. The floors were also not cleaned, and there were scraps of trash on all of the tables. I personally would not recommend getting food here or coming here at all.
We stood at the counter with locked eye contact with the staff behind the counter for 5 minutes before they came to the register to assist.
Cookies in many different shapes & sizes. But it’s so gross and unclean . Lots of seating. Somewhat overpriced. Tried it a few times over the years but still gets the thumbs down. My guess is folk like reading the free newspapers.
We stopped here before visiting the Edward Hopper Museum. The tables were dirty and sticky. Nobody while we were there came from behind the counter to clean up anything. I ordered a "chicken gumbo", which took 15 minutes to be served, and it was cold. When I asked for some warm soup, the cook just microwaved the plate and bowl, bread and all. After 5 minutes it was still lukewarm and now had a skin on top. And it wasn't a "gumbo," more like cream of chicken soup.
If you don’t like your job don’t come to work simple. I had a cashier look at me with 3 heads because I wanted a pbj sandwich at 8:30 in the morning . I guess that’s not culturally acceptable in posh a$$ nyack .. oh and BTW 3.50 for a small apple juice 😩 this isn’t Manhattan
2nd visit and my last. The same girl behind the counter helped me again. Both occasions No welcoming, no smile. Lackadaisically doing her job behind the counter. She can’t even put a little effort into a mini squat to find the cookie your pointing at- she’s in her 20s arthritis hasn’t even set in yet. I wasn’t aware there was a counter of do it yourself sweeteners/ creamers. When someone ask for splendas , they clearly are unaware it’s a do it yourself. Find a career your passionate about girl! If your in school I hope it’s not for customer service. You get an F for people skills 101 class 2x now! I’m finished with this place
Made a quick stop on the way to a hike and picked up two protein shakes. They were the worst - acidic taste - fruits weren’t possibly fresh, no milk or protein powder which are both $2 extra each that we paid for. $11 in total. The person at the counter was doing other orders after we paid, no concept of a line! A protein shake is hardly a complex order.
Served plastic utensils to eat-in customers, food was overpriced yet no better than a public school cafeteria and the tables had not been wiped clean. Just lacklustre, worst cafe I've ever been to.
I ordered a coffee and an oatmeal cookie. I stopped in the place because they claim to have “fine coffee”. Sadly, the coffee was way too hot, so I cannot comment on taste. The cookie had no taste at all and pretty small for the price. Finally, while slowly drinking the coffee as it cooled down, one person of the staff ask everyone to leave since they were closing. Don’t come here, low quality products and lack of respect for customers.
This bakery has no standards whatsoever. My wife picked up a pear tart for my son's birthday. It had to be at least three weeks old. I almost couldn't cut it. After I finally hacked off a piece, it had the consistency of a rubber tire. A bakery that sells old goods should not be in business. I won't be going back.
