I was pleasantly surprised by how great Nana Viet Kitchen is. The place is very clean, organized, and has a welcoming vibe as soon as you walk in. I ordered the Bún Chả Hà Nội, and it was absolutely delicious! I’ve tried many Vietnamese dishes before, but this one really stood out. It’s full of flavor, made with fresh ingredients, and so satisfying that it left me craving more. I’ll definitely be coming back soon just to order it again. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for authentic, real, and flavorful Vietnamese food!
This place continues to be my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the area. There’s been a change in management, prices are down and portions are up! They also have added so many new choices. Bun dau mam tom, Bo ne, thit kho… brings back memories from Saigon. What a flavor trip. Oh and there’s free bottomless jasmine tea! I’ll keep coming to support these amazing local gems!
Friendly service. Lots of Vietnamese cuisine to try. The chicken curry with baguette and My Tho Style noodles was delicious.
Such friendly service! Store was also very clean and able to accommodate a family of 8 next to us. Lunch time was busy but everyone seemed to have a seat on Friday. I love how they play Vietnamese music instead of just American pop. I’ve been to Hanoi before and felt the Bun Cha Hanoi dish was similar taste to what I had in Vietnam. I’m not Vietnamese but I felt it was delicious!
Great service, nicely decorated and clean restaurant, great location. My curry soup was delicious 😋 the potatoes were undercooked but overall it was a great experience and I will absolutely come back
First time here but really enjoyed this place! Restaurant was clean, the server was attentive and we got our food pretty quickly. Everything tasted fresh and my pho hit the spot. My boyfriend’s bun rieu was pretty good too. The spring rolls were great as well and the flavors were on point. Great meal overall and I would definitely come back for more when it’s colder in Oakland to try other dishes they have on the menu.
Had an excellent meal here! Came for bun cha and also had hu thieu my tho and both dishes delivered. The soup had an excellent pork broth flavor and complimented the toppings, but the bun cha really blew me away. The meat had such a wonderful smokiness, paired with a sweet and complex dipping sauce that I was so sad once our meal was done. They also do their cafe sua da to order it appears and was nicely sweet with a punchy coffee flavor.
Finally I found a good authentic Vietnamese restaurant in Northern Bay area ( except San Jose). The food is so authentic and is not influenced by Chinese-Vietnamese style like other Vietnamese restaurants in the area. The restaurant was nice and clean. The only thing needs to be improved is the service. It was not busy on Wednesday night, but the server stayed at the counter most of the time and didn’t fill up our water unless we asked or tried to get his attention.
Local, family owned. Serve is top notch and friendly. Food was a huge portion and the broth for the mi was perfect. All the toppings were perfection- the pork was tender and flavorful. Shrimp and squid tasted fresh and cooked perfectly.

Awesome place! Food was absolutely delicious and the service was wonderful and quick. Bun cha han noi was scrumptious, and the environment was quite nice.
Very nice people easy to talk when ordering online and I forgot to an item to order. Service was great so far. I have not seen the place yet except I ordered delivery only because I handicapped. I m very sure the atmosphere was great. Customer service was great also even we don’t understand she tried to accommodate me by listening well. Thank you, this Elizabeth
Delicious, well-balanced, delicate pho, spring rolls full of veg, not just rice noodles, tasty peanut sauce, and SUPER flavorful grilled pork banh mi! Service was excellent, and the restaurant very clean. Their bathrooms were nice, too. We also enjoyed the music they were playing. Happily recommend!

The first visit was on a weekday, so it was quiet and easy to find parking. The food came out quickly, and I ordered the MY THO'S STYLE DRY NOODLE (I swapped the noodles for egg noodles) and the Beef Stew - Bo Kho. The wait wasn't long, and both dishes were very tasty. The second visit was on a much busier day. Parking was quite challenging since it's all street parking, and we had to compete for spots. The restaurant was packed, but the staff did their best to take care of everyone and were attentive despite how busy it was. This time, we ordered two bowls of House Combination Pho - Pho Dat Biet and an appetizer of Summer Spring Rolls, which were delicious. Overall, the food here is really good, and it's definitely one of the better Pho spots l've tried. The restaurant is also quite clean. I would love to come back again, though l'd recommend going on a weekday if you can - it's much easier for parking and there's less of a wait.
Came in on an afternoon for lunch and had their banh xeo and a strawberry smoothie and was thrilled to see such a massive portion for the banh xeo. Staff was friendly and the food came out fast. Food was delicious and the nice quiet ambience of the restaurant was relaxing to enjoy.
The bun Bo hue was okay. Missing the pig feet and stuff and the noodle was a bit undercooked. Lots of flavors missing. Maybe I’d order something else next time I’m here
You guys ever wonder why many of Vietnamese restaurants that serve pho make #1 on their menu the pho combo?🤔 Just wondering. Mam is a newer " Authentic Northern Vietnamese" restaurant in Oakland's Chinatown. Love the aesthetics of how you are able to stand and watch the kitchen make your food and the #1 combo. The restaurant is really clean. Fresh ingredients used in their food and it's delicious! The bun cha was fresh and delicious. Good portion of vegetables and vermicelli. Meat patty was soft and juicy. You can say there are ones made better in San Jose for cheaper. Sometimes you don't want to drive that far especially with gas prices these days! Parking is difficult.
First time coming to this place. I had the Pho Bo dac Biet, which is the house special beef noodle soup, featuring a combo of rare steak, well-done brisket, flank, fatty brisket, and meatballs! The broth is clear and rich, and it really warmed me up on a cold day after work!
Very clean place, well light. Front desk girl offered some amazing house hot sauce, with my to go Combo Pho. Which, by the way, was full of seasoned broth, fresh veggies and raw beef..sooo delicious. I'd definitely return again.

This place is a hit or miss depending on what you order. For the traditional Pho craving, this place hits the spot. But their dinner family style it's off it's mark. The Pho here is full and hearty with the standard condiments. For apps, go for their Fried Fish Cake, Fresh Summer Rolls, or Crispy Spring rolls. Papaya Salad was good, but hard to eat with just four shrimp chips. Their Banh Xeo batter was way too thick. Their Pho here is very good. the soup had the right amount of flavor and was steaming hot when they brough it out. Their house specials, were a bit lacking. Their "Thit Kho Trung" (Pork and Egg Stew in Clay Pot) and "Ca Kho To" (Carmelized Cat Fish Stew" missed the mark. The This Kho Trung wasn't stewed, and flavorless. Both dish the sauce was too watery and the caramelization. The service was excellent and they do play the traditional Vietnamese new wave music to try and make the ambiance more authentic.

I came in the morning at opening and well the food sucked unfortunately I ordered the #17 house combo pho, #26 dry noodles and #9 Banh khot. Coming in were were seated quickly, give water and tea and then nothing had to go find the wait staff ourselves in order to order which was weird since there was only us and one other table. Placed my order and waited. Quite long actual for pho restaurant standards but when the food came after about 25-30 mins there were some glaring issues. For example #17 broth is flavorless compared to nearby shops and the broth isn’t nearly hot enough to cook the pork patties fast enough so ur left with either waiting a bit longer after getting ur food or risking it doesn’t cook all the way thru after adding in ur side veggies. Next the #26 was horrid I don’t know if it was a new cook but the egg noodles that came to me had two options extra under cooked or extremely overcooked either way it was so mushy it was like eating dough, also apparently there was suppose to be quail eggs but mines didn’t have any and I don’t realize that till now. Last #9 I have to assume they are using an electric device to make it because the outside lacked crispness and the inside was still slightly raw as well an the fish sauce served with it tasting like nuoc mam that was 90% water and 10% flavor. Also door was constantly open so all the smoke from smokers kept coming in from the sidewalk. Overall 4.4 rating cannot be trusted seeing as the 4.3 Ao Sen is far superior in every way. (This is not a paid endorsement for Ao Sen they just constant in quality so it had to used as a comparison) had at least one thing be good I could say maybe it was a bad day but all three means reviews are being inflated.

Ordered takeout. We were absolutely cheated and we are never coming back 🤦🏻♀️ I do not recommend this place. Please look elsewhere!! We were given so little meat & veggies - and a big ol cut of rotting cabbage 🤦🏻♀️ they couldn't even be bothered to check the 5 pieces of veggies before boxing. Goes to show their customer service 🤷🏻♀️ the pho was mid. Verry oily broth. I've also never had oily and liquidy curry like this before, but it wasn't horrible. Just meh.
