This was my first visit I went to the juice spot thinking I was at the restaurant so I got a smoothie with seamoss it was good. I walked to the corner were the restaurant was. It's a nice spot indoor and outdoor seating available. It was a little wait but I'm patient and it paid off. I ordered the oxtails with a beef patty I was very very please, also the customer service was great the young lady and father was very attentive as I waited. This is my new Jamaican spot for my juices and food. I loved family owned businesses

They have a weird layout but the food is delicious!!! We ordered their oxtail and curry goat and left very satisfied. We weren't a fan of the ground provisions but we found their rice sides absolutely phenomenal and plantains perfectly fried.

Thankful we have a spot like this in the Bay! Loved my curry goat plate and polished it clean. Tried some oxtails that were yummy too! The music was good and the food was better. Owner and staff were nice, I'll def come back!

This spot serves truly authentic Jamaican food—flavorful, fresh, and cooked with love. The service was excellent, and the chef was so friendly and welcoming. A great experience all around!

I’m originally from the east coast, Philly to be exact and there are so many Jamaican restaurants that are really good. I’ve tried about 5 different Jamaican and/or Caribbean restaurants out here in the Bay Area and Minto’s was by far the best. The food is really good, there’s even a bar if you need an alcoholic beverage. I love their oxtails, my pictures show me dining in, as well as ordering takeout.

Amazing!!! The jerk chicken was perfect. The goat curry was spot on. I was nervous to try a new Jamaican spot, because I’ve had some not good experiences. My normal spot didn’t have jerk chicken so I thought let me take a chance. I saw a few good reviews on here and that was enough. I ordered and I will order again. This is my new spot. My picture of the goat curry wasn’t even half of the order! Money well spent.

The escovitched fish I got takes about 25 minutes to prepare, but it's worth the wait. Fried just right, not overdone, with a generous helping of the sides. I picked rice & peas and ground provisions. The rice & peas were light, not mushy, and well-seasoned. The brown stew chicken is excellent. That gravy could make anything taste good! The chicken was fall off the bone tender, with a good portion size. Got a couple of sea moss & sorrel drinks to wash it all down. Left the place full & happy.

I had jerk chicken and bammi here. Very warm and friendly Jamaican staff with a great food variety. My chicken was cooked to perfection, and I will visit again for sure. Nice music was playing, and the atmosphere was welcoming. There is a bar, and it looked well stocked. The space is open and airy with everything themed just like yaad! Great job! On my second visit, we ordered escovitch fish with rice and peas and bami. Back to back home runs as this fish was very pleasing.

Have been on the hunt for good Jamaican food in the East Bay and decided to check out Minto’s Jamaican Restaurant. It did not disappoint!! I ordered the curry goat with plantains and rice and peas, and my husband got the jerk chicken with rice and peas. The goat meat was DELICIOUS - it tasted just like my mom and aunt would make it growing up!! And I tried a little of the chicken too (the small piece my husband was willing to part with 😂) which was also great. The prices were reasonable as it goes, and the food came out pretty quickly - we waited inside since we forgot to order ahead. I can’t wait to go back and try their breakfast items to see if it’s as good as everything else I ordered for dinner.

The food is totally authentic and delicious. You receive your money worth with the portions. The plantains was cooked perfectly. I really enjoyed the island fried chicken and the sauce was so good I wanted to drink it.

Food taste amazing but we waited 1 hour and 30 minutes until we revived are food.

This was a spicy, hot authentic curry goat, falling off the bones into an incredible viscous liquor, thick of yam, dachine, and green sweet potato. Cumin and turmeric in the nose, scotch bonnet peppers, and thyme, so much thyme! To polish it off? Piping hot, sweet fried plantain! I declare, there is nothing like the caramelized crust on deep fried ripe plantains. Nothing on the face of the earth equals that crust. Nothing.

I had a really tasty lunch here with a friend and it was hard to hear each other over the loud music playing in there but otherwise an overall good experience. Not very busy at lunchtime, I’ll say that! The fried plantains were incredible.

Great food and great vibes. We enjoyed dinner on their outdoor patio because the weather was quite nice that evening. The oxtail stew was well cooked, the curry goat fell off the bone, and the rice and peas were excellent. The plantains were a little dry but edible once mixed with the stew. My only issue was with the sound—I typically like loud music (especially reggae) but if it stops customers from getting what they want, maybe there is a way to direct the sound away from the cash register. Definitely going back!

I came in wanting to be taken back to Sunday Dinners with grandma Whyte (a Jamaican Grandmother I had the honor of knowing many years). We got oxtails which were delicious, flavorful, and tender (but disappointing for the serving size and pricing). The rice and peas were not very flavorful and a bit over cooked but the vegetables and plantains were delicious so overall the plate was satisfying but did not have the same authenticity I’m use to with Grandma! Nonetheless I will be back and try other dishes as well as get some more oxtails. I’ll be sure to take pics of the food for my review update and hopefully be able to give 5 star. I didn’t use the bathroom and the place was clean and spacious, we were greeted and served with a smile!!

Great curry goat. I had it twice within 1 week. As the food was good on both occasions the service there was atrocious on both visits. If the service matched the food this place wd be. great. On the first occasion it took 36 minutes to order my food and another 23 to get it. Some guys receipt was messed up and that just shut down the order taking process. The second time I ordered quickly but some how it took 29 mins to serve the ready cooked food. Do Bettany man. Di food sell off.

Got oxtail with provisions and cabbage. Paid over $30 (including tip.) Portions are small, provisions were cold and the oxtail was mostly bones. There were only 2 people ahead of me ordering and it took 20 min. The food took another 20 min to arrive after ordering. The oxtail tasted great but can't recommend due to the price, portion size, and island time service.

Extremely rude, they don't even care you are standing there. I waited for 15 mins just to order, that lady has such a bad customer service. How can you even be in service business with that kinda attitude. No wonder has 4 star review.

"Mi tell yuh, yu nah go deh widout meh. Deh robbin yuh." Never had brown stew with out a piece of carrot, potato or some veggie. Never had brown stew with out any spices or pepper sauce. Also, never have I ever had it drenched in gravy. That was their way of telling me I don't belong there. Watched five other people who came in after us, ordered the same stuff, get served and be on their merry ways. We waited over an hour and a half. They robbed me for three lunch specials. I specifically asked if the sides would cost extra because I follow my gut. I was told no. Alrighty, I see the price and assume it's taxes. Nah, lunch specials are $13.99 and entrees are +$23. Where does $17.99 a pop come in? After I attempted to have a civil conversation with the woman, it became evident that occurrence's response is rehearsed and, there was nothing I could do. Stupid me because all the extras I paid for, I didn't get. Yet the other two meals got rice and peas alongside tons of plantains. Shame on y'all. My twins were dying for Jamaican food as we're from the East Coast and away from their father who cooks for them often. So, I called him while there and he said "Mi tell yuh, yu nah go deh widout meh."

I think this was actually the worst experience I ever had in a restaurant. I was craving some Jamaican food and they were open so made a to go order. I arrived at the restaraunt and was directed to go to the counter. I told the woman I was there for a pickup. Without looking up she said wait there. I waited, waited some more and kept waiting. Employee after employee walked by me without saying a word. I asked a few times for help and was eventually ignored. No eye contact. No please wait. No just a moment. Not a word. I ended up waiting for about 20 minutes at which point I gave up and left without receiving my food or ever getting a refund. Honestly don’t know how they’re still open for business.

It pains me to write this negative review because I'm such a fan of the juice shop. We went on a Friday evening. We waited an hour and 15 minutes and never received our food. I then asked and was told that "our order hadn't been started". I asked to cancel our food order and I was then made to pay for the drinks we ordered (with our meal mind you). Unacceptable service and poor hospitality.

Not returning bc I waited 30 minutes for a beef patty with cocoa bread just for the cocoa bread to be cut in half. Never in my Jamaican life have I seen a cocoa bread cut in half. The patty couldn’t even fit on the bread bc the bread was so tiny. Then they overcharge for everything! Lastly, they have poor customer service. The woman helping at the front gave attitude and snatched the cocoa bread and walked away when I told her I didn’t want to pay for an additional half slice. Such a shame but I’ll find another Jamaican restaurant.
