This place is just the best. Rooms are comfortable and the view from the terraces, absolutely divine! The family who owns and operates are the most hospitable bunch. Highly recommend for a short or longer-term stay. Super Bien!

Gracias por todo! One of the most comfortable bed we've had in our many months travels. We loved our stay, we stayed there twice for close to 10 days in total. The staff is awesome, the rooms are super comfortable ( nice hot showers, cool rooms and massive beds), and the views are beautiful. A good plus: breakfast is included and an affordable price. Owned by very kind people that were super accomodating with us. Would 100% recommend and will be back!

Hermoso Alojamiento, con desayuno incluido de fruta pan y café , terrazas con increíble vista de toda la ciudad , super amables los administradores del espacio . Una cama matrimonial inmensaaa , buen colchón , hay 1 toallon grande , jabón , shampoo, papel higiénico, ventilador de techo ... Felíz de este lugar ! Volvería a rentar aquí una y mil veces más ! Las escaleras son muuuuuuy altas y de un montón de escalones, pero cada escalón lo vale para llegar al alojamiento

Ame este lugar! La vista es inigualable... Pequeños detalles... Hay que subir algunas escalones para llegar, pero llegas al centro fácilmente caminando, es un poco ruidoso por las mañanas (7am ya hay actividad) pero el personal es muy amable!

Our stay in this charming house was a truly memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the view that this beautiful place offers. The rooms are cozy and designed for rest, which allowed us to disconnect from the daily hustle and bustle. The stay includes a basic breakfast, which adds a plus to the price, plus the staff and owners are very friendly. The location is ideal for those looking for a place away from the hustle and bustle of the city with access to the center of Oaxaca by walking around 10 to 15 minutes. The only drawback I could mention is that being located on the Fortín hill, it involves climbing some stairs, which becomes heavy when carrying luggage up and down. However, the view and tranquility enjoyed at the top make it worth the effort. In short, if you are looking for a place to rest and enjoy one of the best views of Oaxaca, this is an excellent option. I will definitely come back!

The best place to stay in Oaxaca. I was there for almost a month and didn't want to leave! Comfortable rooms, the best location near the center, breakfast included, but most of all, the service! Beautiful location, the view of Oaxaca is stunning! To get to the place you need to climb the stairs and it can be a bit tiring but is totally worth it! That’s why is called “Terraza Cielito Lindo” ☺️ The two women running the place are awesome! Both very kind and helpful! There is breakfast every morning that includes cakes and fresh fruit with coffee or tea! The room was perfectly clean and the bed extremely comfortable! Highly recommended ❤️

I have stayed here for nearly two months whilst studying Spanish at a local school, so I can give a thorough review of Terraza Cielito. I love the location of the accommodation. It's a short walk into town, my school, a beautiful coffee shop, yet it's out of the city and peaceful at night. It's also next to a stunning restaurant el Humito and a great little torta and tlayuda place. There's a small little shop directly across the road for essentials, water ect. This place has been like a home for me. Maggi serves fruit, bread and coffee every morning to me (we usually have a conversation in Spanish of which I can keep up with about 50% but pretend I understand everything), before I walk off to class. My room has it's own private bathroom and is cleaned once a week, with new sheets, towels ect. I regularly cook upstairs on the Terraza after buying fresh fish and prawns in the market, as it's almost my favourite thing to do in Oaxaca because it's so peaceful and the view is stunning. Unfortunately there seems to be a common theme of people coming for one night and writing a poor review. Those people, seemingly think this place is a high end hotel, and demand everything under the sun. They usually also put no effort into meeting others which is a shame. This is a place to be flexible, and focus on the important things in life. As with everything in life, you get out what you put in and the more you engage and get to know the beautiful family, Maggi and the dogs (kaida, and Bongo) the more they will give you. (I've been lucky enough to watch Jazz one of the family members here sing multiple times in Oaxaca, go to baseball games with them and visit different restaurants together) I would highly recommend this place, especially those wanting to learn Spanish, because you'll be surrounded by locals in the area and the family. It's also the best long term value that I've been able to find in Oaxaca. I would encourage you to message Jefzi/the family on whatsapp and find a suitable plan rather than using booking platforms. That way they can help you find what you want, and avoid the fees taken by the organisations, so the family can receive more.

The place is situated a little outside of the centre but within walking distance (5-7 minutes), but oh my - for that you get an exceptional view! Everything is clean, the dogs are cute and the hosts are very lovely people helping you with everything you'd need; be it coffee, breakfast, recommendations and so forth. They even upgraded our room to a bigger one for free. Also the dogs are adorable.

A comfortable room for an affordable price! The location is a great distance from the centro and provides access to many great downtown activities. There's a store right down the street (a few actually) which is quite convenient. There's a bunch of stairs when you get to the gate at street level so be prepared to burn some calories 🔥 the view when you finally do get to the top is completely worth it though. Day or night. There's a gym in the common area which is open and shared with the other guests. The drainage in the shower was a little slow but eventually went down and the hot water lasted so no complaints there.

Great place to stay if you want to be away from the chaos of central Oaxaca, but still within walking distance. While it is more of a hostel type setting with a communal terrace, the rooms are small, quaint, clean, and private. The view from the terrace is stunning and is a good place to connect with other travelers. The hostess is a very lovely woman who is extremely accommodating. Whether it’s providing coffee, breakfast, dinner, or even taking care of your laundry - she’s got you covered. The location may be a bit difficult to find at first, just look for the metal gate marked 518 and head straight up the stairs to the blue building on your left.

La vista es maravillosa, un lugar alejado de la ciudad para relajarte y observarla. Cuenta con cocina y el internet estuvo muy bien para trabajar remotamente. Esa vista tiene un costo y eso es 77 escalones, así que si tienes mucho equipaje tómalo en cuenta. También tienes que caminar unos 18 minutos para llegar al centro y los taxis nos cobraron 100. Enfrente hay un increíble restaurante

I stayed one day with my family. The stairs are huge (not that I'm complaining), just keep that in mind if you don't like climbing a lot of stairs. We didn't know where the reception was because it wasn't clearly marked, but we called the number and they gave us directions. As for the rooms, they were nice, with good views, a fan, and a very comfortable bed. There's plenty of storage for clothes and other things. The bathroom is very nice. The only downside is that the shower is a bit clogged and doesn't have much water pressure; the water flow is somewhat uneven. The common areas are very good, with incredible views and plenty of tables, chairs, and sofas. It's a little neglected, but my recommendation is that they have someone at reception to better indicate things.

The place is lovely, full of color and details. However, access is difficult; it's about 10 minutes from downtown Oaxaca, and you need a car (taxi costs between $60 and $90 pesos). If you walk, it involves steep hills and less-traveled alleyways, and once you arrive, you still have to climb many stairs. The staff is very approachable and friendly. The place has common areas and a terrace with a fantastic view of the entire city. Breakfast includes fruit, coffee, and delicious Oaxacan bread. The rooms have the essentials, but the quality could be better. My room had a strange smell coming from the bathroom. I recommend it for visiting Oaxaca and relaxing.

We stayed here during our visit to Oaxaca. You get what you pay for: simple rooms with a private bathroom and shower, a fan, and a small closet to store your belongings if you wish. The common areas are shared and Maggy and Amalia keep them clean. A light breakfast (coffee or tea, fruit, and bread) is included. From the terrace, you can see much of downtown, as it's located at the foot of the hill. At night, the view with all the lighting is beautiful, and sunrises are a great way to enjoy a cup of coffee. You can grill food on the terrace and cook, as the facilities are available for that purpose. There's also a minibar to keep your drinks cold if you want to enjoy time on the terrace. Of course, you have to climb 77 steps, all of them with different shapes and designs, to get there from the street where you can park your car (out of the 5 nights we stayed there, we never had any security issues). Once you go up the steps, Maggy greets you and gives you a tour of the facilities. If you get a room on the top floor, you'll have to climb 17 more steps ☺️. Every time you leave, make sure you have everything you need with you so you don't have to keep going up and down stairs. I'm giving this a 4-star rating because we had a couple of issues with insects inside the room, which we mentioned to the manager and it was resolved immediately. I recommend this place because it's just a few minutes from downtown Oaxaca, both by car and on foot.

bueno y malo -bueno por: - la vista que ofrece - la cama es muy comoda - desayuno rico -malo por: - la ducha era con shower door y solo tenia una puerta, al bañarte dejabas todo mojado el baño y con mucha facilidad de caerte - casi ni sale agua caliente - los wc carecen de agua, por lo tanto tu caquita queda flotando por un buen tiempo hasta que le llega agua - ademas no caes en el espacio que hay entre la ducha y el wc para poder usar el wc, debes sentarte de lado y es muy incomodo porque chocas con el lavamanos - hay que subir muchas escaleras para poder llegar al hotel (no lo recomiendo para personas mayores o/y con discapacidad .

Aceptable, solo que como recomendación deberían tener más limpias las habitaciones para sus huéspedes. La gente es muy amable y atenta.

No es recomendable para personas con problemas motrices o de salud, hay bastantes escaleras y no están bien hechas por lo que puede costar trabajo llegar si no tienes buena condición. Las habitaciones pequeñas y a mí me tocó una que tenía el baño por separado teniendo que pasar por áreas comunes. No te avisan esos detalles antes de reservar. Relación precio calidad

It was truly disappointing! Access to the room from the street is via endless and dangerous stairs. The "host" didn't introduce himself; we were greeted only by Maggi, a very kind woman. The area is unsafe, far from the center, and the only way to get there is by taxi, which charges 90 pesos. Just seeing the place made us feel unsafe. We didn't even stay. We saw the room and ran away. Obviously, I lost my money for the three nights I reserved. I preferred that to my safety. DECEPTIVE ADVERTISING.

Awesome view, but small place and with insects

La ubicación es buena, muy cerca del centro, la vista es bonita, pero me dijeron que incluía desayuno y no nos dieron nada, un día no tuvo agua ni fría ni caliente ni en el baño ni en la regadera, total mente sin agua, no pudieron resolvernos ese tema, la habitación tenía muchos insectos, (cucarachas), en general creo que puede mejorar la atención y las condiciones del lugar

We stayed one night at this property, and unfortunately, our experience did not live up to expectations. The place seems to have potential, but it is currently poorly maintained. Upon arrival, we found it to be very poorly maintained: a dirty kitchen, uncleaned rooms, and even the presence of cockroaches. Fortunately, the host was responsive and the staff on site were friendly, which we want to emphasize. Airbnb took the situation seriously and agreed to a refund (€29 per night, all the same). This review is not intended to condemn, but to inform: we hope that improvements will be made, as the setting could really be pleasant with better maintenance.

A pesar de que se anuncian como hotel no es tal, en su publicidad dicen que el check in es a las 12 y la habitación la entregaron hasta la 1 de la tarde. Las paredes del baño se encontraban sucias, había cables expuestos en el techo, restos de jabón del ocupante anterior en la ducha y cabello, la puerta del baño no cerraba y la puerta corrediza de la ducha era una sola hoja por lo que al abrir la ducha todo el baño se mojaba. No había agua caliente y al informar de esto al encargado, muy groseramente nos dijo que cuando habían ido a revisar no estábamos. Hay nula privacidad en las habitaciones ya que las puertas no encajan en el marco y el área externa es común y concurrida. Para llegar caminando las calles son empinadas, sucias y poco seguras. Su entrada (por un callejón) tiene escalones sumamente precarios y peligrosos para personas de la tercera edad o con movilidad limitada, cosa que no advierten antes de hacer la reservación. Era mi única noche reservada ahí y definitivamente fué inolvidable, pero por las peores razones. Nada recomendable.

Un sitio deplorable que se aprovecha de los visitantes, la entrada es un callejón empinado que no es para personas con movilidad limitada, el cuarto que ocupé ni siquiera tenía una puerta que cerrará correctamente, ofrecen desayuno continental, pero no te dicen que es hágalo usted mismo, no tuvimos agua caliente y la presión es mínima, lo arreglaron casi al desocupar, sitio para mochileros y extranjeros que quieran romantizar la pobreza del país. Las fotos que comparten son unafalacia.
