Opiniones de Ocote Cochina Oaxaca
The best value meal I had in all of my time in Mexico. Michelin quality meals for street food prices. Get all the tacos. Get the plantains in mole, don’t look past the fish tostado with passion fruit. Each dish was delicious and well balanced.
Food is amazing, with lots of choices! Family with children, they loved the bolognese and enchiladas. We were told the way it could be about an hour however they called us around 45 minutes! We will definitely come back!
Unassuming place with reasonable prices. Fantastic food - full of flavor. Good veg and nonveg selection. Highly recommended. Had Tacos de flor calabaza, Orden de Tacos de Rib E, Pleza Taco de Rib Eye , Ravioles de Huitlacohe, Molotes de Platano Mach, Postre del Dia (Brownie) - all top notch!
We had dinner here twice and the food didn’t disappoint either time! Their skirt steak is just incredible: very tender, perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. The side vegetables were also really delicious, almost better than the steak! We also had the smoked salmon with aguachile which was absolutely fabulous. The ribeye was also excellent. Their guacamole with tostadas was really good as well. Highly recommended.
We stumbled upon Ocote, a charming and unassuming little spot in Oaxaca, and absolutely loved the experience. From the warm interaction with the bartender Jairo—who guided us through excellent local gin and mezcal recommendations—to the flavorful dishes, everything was outstanding. The staff made us feel so welcome. Daniella suggested we finish with the mango mousse, and it was the perfect sweet -but not overly sweet- ending to the meal. We can’t wait to come back!
Exceptional food!! The pork tacos was some of the best and I can definetly recommend them. The waiters service was not bad, but also not special in any way. Some of them seemed annoyed. But I would recommend this place because of their food. By the way the guacamole was some of the best I had
This was literally the last place I stopped before heading to the airport. My hotel was just down the street so I was constantly walking past their window that was filled with all of these amazing looking pastries so I knew I had to have one before I left. I stopped by to grab a cappuccino to go and while that was being made, I enjoyed their brownie with ice cream. My server told me they were all out of vanilla ice cream but they had rosemary and star and ice cream, which I thought sounded like a weird combination, but YOLO. It ended up being the most delicious flavors ever! I also grabbed a peanut butter and chocolate cookie to go, which I ate at the airport while waiting for my plane.
This has surprisingly become my favorite restaurant in Oaxaca. Been here 3 times in 10 days and the quality of the food kept surprising us. The ribs here are die for and I haven’t had such juicy and delicious burgers for a while! The appetizers come with more of a fusion Oaxaca flavor. The service and atmosphere are great! Awesome place.
We enjoyed what we had here. They seemed touchy about tables, and wouldn't allow our group of 3 to sit at a table for 4, even though they weren't busy. When another couple pushed two tables together, they were reprimanded and needed to separate them. Still, the food was good, we very much enjoyed our visit, and I would go back (for my fourth visit!).
We are on the hunt for elevated food with a relaxed atmosphere while we are traveling with young restless kids. This was perfect for that. Presentation was great. Enmoladas were a little too sweet for me, Costilla de Res was perfect, tacos de Cochinita were a huge hit with the kids. Enjoyed a few single tacos/tostadas (stuffed squash flower and snapper with passion fruit). We ordered a few cocktails as well which were all too sweet in my opinion. Service was great. Ultimately would recommend.
Shrimp Tacos were not good. The pizza was ok. had much pizza elsewhere. The soup was good. The cocktails seem overpriced. They were priced as high as fine a dining restaurant. The decor and ambience was not comparable to fine dining, nor there cocktails.
Food was good but service wasn’t the best. Go for nice bit of fresh food but don’t expect fast food. Additional add on for salad never arrived, didn’t give full change (5pesos so not too much but…) and drinks didn’t arrive until after food and we reminded them If you do go, tostada was good
