Qué dicen los clientes de Gigantes Pizzaria
Gigantes Pizzaria offers tasty New York style pizza, especially the honey mustard chicken slice and grandma pizza. However, many customers report consistently unfriendly service, particularly from the woman at the counter, and pressure to pay with cash.

A nice variety of delicious New York pizza at a good price. I recommend trying their honey mustard chicken slice.

Bought dough from Gigantes and was really impressed great quality and super easy to work with. Staff was polite, helpful, and had me in and out fast. Definitely coming back.

Food was delicious! Place is well kept. But the lady behind the counter is not friendly at all. Didn’t say thank you , but was happy to say thank you to the Italian couple that ordered their food. I’ll go across the street next time!

I ordered a spinach roll to go. The server placed it in the oven to warm for approximately 5 minutes. The crust was warm, but the inside was cold. Unfortunately, the spinach roll was not flavorful. I have had their grandma pizza in the past, that was very tasty.

A very good slice, one of the best I've had on Long Island, highlighted by one of the nastiest people behind a register I've ever met. She was very frustrated I was paying with a card. Asked me not once but 4x if I was within 30 seconds. Legit not that serious, because of the interaction on a dead afternoon, I won't be returning.
The woman at the counter always seems mad at the world or mad to have customers. They are so unfriendly, im starting to think this is just a front house because how could you possibly be so unpleasant in the restaurant industry. Pizza is good but not worth the attitude.

Ive been here a bunch of times and every time Im disappointed I spent my money there. There are other better pizza places within a five minute drive. DeCoccos is right across the street and is much better. And the woman at the front is not very friendly. Curt but not rude, still not someone that should be at the front talking with customers.

I’m not the one to write reviews but for this I had to. We are a regular there and get the family specials frequently. Tonight we got the family special 2 with the house salad. We thought let’s get some grilled chicken on the side to add to it. The total for family special 2 with taxes was 31.50. Once we ordered the grilled chicken it went up to 43.75. I thought that’s weird but okay I understand. We received the grilled chicken and it was 1 singular piece of chicken. We called and asked if this is correct to have 1 piece of grilled chicken for $11. The person answering the phone attempted to get the manager but little did they know we could hear everything over the phone. I simply asked “is one piece of grilled chicken $11?” The person answering the phone hesitantly said “yeah I know” understanding my frustration. After ordering from there often I won’t be ordering from there anymore.
Pizza was great , service was not so good .. felt kind of ripped off at the pricing for slices.

horrible service the kid working behind the counter has no idea what he’s doing. Took 20 minutes for one slice of pizza.
I went here earlier with my fiance and sister. Unfortunately we were all caught off guard when the woman behind the counter pressured us into paying with cash instead of one of our credit cards. I've lived on Long Island for 30+ years and have never experienced this before in any of the countless pizzerias that I've been to. She was very cold and unwelcoming as well. The funny thing is, the people that went to pay right after us also got pushback from her and were virtually scolded for trying to pay with a card. Lastly the Mac and cheese pizza tastes like they just poured lean cuisine macaroni on a sheet of dough. If you don't want your day ruined and you don't want to hurt your credit cards' feelings don't go here, instead go to any of the other countless pizzerias on Long Island.
I walked in here over a year ago and the girl behind the register seemed so unfriendly that I just left. I tried going back today, not sure if it was the same female employee, but she was pretty flat and unfriendly. I ordered a cappuccino, but they didn’t have them, then I ordered a regular coffee with cream, but they also didn’t have that. I finally ordered rigatoni a la vodka, there was no description of it on the menu. When I tried it, I realized it had meat in it. I’ve been a vegetarian for 21 years and never tried an a la vodka sauce with meat in it. I spoke with the employee. She offered me something else on the menu but I asked her I could have a refund, she slapped the money down on the counter and was so rude. Bad experience, definitely won’t be back. As someone who’s not from the local area, it’s sad to be treated this way when trying a new place. This employee really brings down this whole establishment.
The description of the Rigatoni A La Vodka pie does NOT state that there is prosciutto in it, yet there is meat hidden in the pie. As a vegetarian for almost 8 years, this is just unacceptable & horrifying. Owner, John, did not call me back, refused to issue a refund, nor did he take responsibility for not accurately listing the description of this item, while nearly all other items gave full descriptions. I had to call 3 times to even speak to Johnny Walnuts, who stated he couldn’t take the loss of 28 bucks. Upon reading reviews, I see that this happened to another vegetarian customer 3 months ago, yet the business STILL DID NOT update the description, which continues to show that the owner has no regard for his customers. The lack of disclosure could have resulted in a fatality if I was allergic to this ingredient, yet the owner stated that “no pizza places disclose this,” which is a false statement, as other pizza places on LI clearly state when there is meat in a typically vegetarian dish, such as pasta pizza. In addition, the staff request payments in cash form, despite online ordering. Everything about this place is sketchy. Stay far away. Literally go to any other pizza place in the area.
I ordered one slice of pizza, after I saw a sign That said no Apple Pay so I let the guy know I was going to get my credit card, ran into my car and when I came back to pay he then decided To tell me that there’s a minimum credit card. There’s not a single sign posted there stating that. He then said oh well you could use the ATM in the back. Very unprofessional, Will never come here again
This review is based on a few visits. They constantly harass you to pay in cash. Especially the lady usually at the counter. Terrible attitude and not friendly at all. They say online they close at 9 but if you get there around 830 they are closing and refuse to serve you. Oceanside has about 6-7 pizza places and this level of customer service will not work.
I decided to give this pizzeria a chance. It was my first time and my last. The woman at the counter was very rude. She slammed my change and threw my pizza on a plate. I thought she was just having a bad day but based on other reviews I see it’s just how she treats some customers. I hope management does something about this, no one should be treated poorly for no reason. Anyways I’d recommend driving across the street to Mario’s Pizza, they have better pizza and respectful staff.
I am in fact not the type to write reviews but I just couldn't resist the urge. Once we entered the pizzeria the lady was very rude and impolite. She had a very clear and nasty attitude and she shouldn't have took it out on the customers. She was coughing and sneezing all over the food which was sitting out in the open. She then proceeded to take her hand that she sneezed in and picked up the pizza. Mind you this lady did NOT have gloves, very disappointed and disgusted.🤢 Then as she was giving me my soda, she had dropped the cup and picked it up, but did not get me a new one and had the audacity to give me the same dirty cup that fell on the floor.😡 As she put my soda in the cup from the fountain it was uncovered and she proceeded to sigh and cough into MY SODA.🤬 She then put the cap on my soda and proceeded to hand it to me as if she didn't just cough and sigh into my soda..
If you want good pizza and good customer service, just take a five minute drive to Mario's. Food was eh, but the atmosphere was so tense we couldn't wait to leave. The woman was super rude in general and gave us and everyone else after us a hard time because we wanted to pay with credit card. Yes, we all read the sign that cash is preferred, but that doesn't mean it's the only way you can pay. I've never seen a pizzeria like that. Never again.
I received a gift card to Gigantes. I went in today and asked if I could use the gift card towards a pie. I was told no. Only cash. What do they think their gift card is? They already pocketed the money for the gift card. I am a frequent customer, not a stranger off the street. I am totally turned off and didn't appreciate the attitude I received. If I knew they would be so arrogant when trying to use their gift card I would have never asked my daughter to get me one. I live in Oceanside and very disappointed how this restaurant treats their customers. Nasty people with attitudes work there.. Think twice before going there.. They only like people to pay in cash. Hate credit card purchases....

Good food but the lady wasn't it, had an attitude and wasn't friendly at all, first time going there and she made my mother and I mood drop.

Dark, dirty and dreary. We stopped in just for a quick bite and were met with attitude. Girl at the counter slamming stuff, not friendly and the place was empty, 1st thing I should have noticed. We got a few semi hot slices from the oven and a raw dough broccoli pinwheel. As we ate, then noticed the dirt and napkins on the floor and then started reading the reviews, which are similar to what I'm writing now a few days later. Lose the attitude at the counter girl and clean and brighten the place.
