I had an excellent experience at Brothers Fish and Chips! The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, easily some of the best fish and chips I’ve had in a long time. A special shoutout to Elmer, who provided outstanding service from start to finish. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was just right. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality these days, and it really made the meal even better. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for delicious seafood and top-notch service. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Great food, fresh ingredients, the drinks are creative. The chef Elmer is an artist, he truly loves creating a wonderful experience for his customers.
What is this gorgeousity in my mouth?! What a little gem of a place. Not only is the presentation of every plate a feast for the eyes (even the fish and chips got its own flower), but everything was seasoned perfectly and packed with flavor. The pisco sour was *divine*. The staff was also friendly and attentive, can't wait to be back.
Food & service were excellent! 4 out of 6 of us ordered the 8 course tasting menu with the wine paring. Every course was delicious and beautifully presented. All the wine choices were very good. Wait staff was very attentive, personable & every drink the bartender made, matched the care and presentation of the food. The lobster risotto & fish and chips were also delicious. Was our first time dining at Brothers Fish & Chips. I promise it won’t be our last.
Just had an amazing meal at Brothers Fish and Chips. We had the place to ourselves for our 7pm seating on a Sunday and can’t help wonder why this place isn’t packed to the gills every moment they’re open. Food was creative, delicious, and carefully prepared. Service was Michelin worthy with attention to detail (they overheard my wife say it was my birthday and went above beyond to make our visit special including a complimentary margarita and delicious tres leche cake complete with a candle!). We ordered from regular menu (fish tacos - may be the best we’ve had, full stop) but will be going back for chef tasting pairing soon. Stop asking where you should go and just check this place out.
Absolutely incredibly food, cannot recommend this enough. It’s the best fish and chips we’ve eaten in Westchester. I have a severe allergy and they were very accommodating and because I let them know before they had food set aside for me that I could eat. The server was very attentive, knowledgeable, and quick. Everyone that works there has a very deep knowledge of their food and ingredients. They are always professional and very attentive. The location is a bit strange but it’s totally worth it when you’re inside.
My second tasting menu at Brothers and it did not disappoint. Each dish carefully crafted and explained by Chef Elmer himself. A three hour culinary journey of the sea. My friends and I left completely happy and satisfied.
Update from 4/20/2024:The magic that Chef Elmer brings to his restaurant is evident in his quality of ingredients, creativity in methods, and artistry in plating. Most delicious preparation of seafood that mixes taste, texture, and aroma, a true sensory experience. We had the restaurant week menu but have also tried the tasting menu. The experience at Brothers is much more than just eating a meal it is dining theater. You will not find a more caring, passionate chef! A must go to spot in Ossining. Fabulous fresh seafood with an innovative twist. Great cocktails and dessert too.
It’s been two hours since we ate here, and we’re still shaking our heads saying, “man, what WAS that?!?” It was that good! This spot is celebrating 14 years in business for a reason. Awe-inspiring food is made in this little restaurant nestled beside a nail salon and parking lot. Everything tastes nothing like you’ve had before. From the lobster in a squid-ink sponge cake, to the coleslaw on the fish tacos, to the lightness of the fried fish, to the pillowy tres leches - it’s just nonstop hits. And it’s not one of those pretentious places where things look artsy and prices are high and there’s no flavor. NO! The food here is so inventive and delicious and fresh. Cannot wait to come back and try their take-out business next door - their fish sandwiches, calamari and more. They even have adorable outdoor seating. Hats off to the insanely-talented chef Elmer and his team, and our server Guan who was so kind and so helpful to us - he gave us the best recommendations the whole night. See you again soon. 5 stars!!!!
Absolutely wonderful! There's several options for types of fish and chips. We were so satisfied by our lovely lunch. Even better, the staff is so kind, going out of their way to make sure you have a great experience. They even surprised our toddler with a scoop of ice cream! Highly recommended. This is an Ossining gem.
THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! My wife and I went there for dinner to start our mini-honeymoon and the experience was perfect. We ordered their tasting menu: $100/person for 8+ courses (we lost count) and several drink pairings. All of the food was delicious and beautifully plated. The service was impeccable and made the night feel special. They also accommodated my wife’s dairy allergy without any issues. We have been to a variety of Michelin starred restaurants and the service and experience here was on par with many of them. For $100/person to have this level of service/food is insane. A real gem! Their a la carte menu also looked great and would provide great value of a regular night out. Thank you Brothers!
What an amazing experience. The food is fresh, beautiful and delicious. They have a seasonal menu so there are always new things to try! The take our location opened in 2011 and in 2015 they expanded next door to add a restaurant and a bar. Elmer (chef and owner) is always there and he is happy to answer questions about your meal We had an amazing coffee ice cream that tasted like chocolate! He told us, family members sent him some very hard to get coffee beans from Guatemala and he was able to make a few pounds of ice cream. It was delicious.
I had the steamed muscles in a garlic white wine sauce and a small side of bread; it was quite good. My friend had Fish & Chips, a beer battered fresh wild caught Cod fish (optionally also served with Bass or Flounder). There is a fully stocked Bar serving international wines by the glass or bottle. They also serve craft beers. The storefront does not have much of a presence though it is visible from normal traffic but when you enter you will find the ambiance quite interesting and fun with a touch of romantic. The menu is competitively priced and the quality of the food excellent. There is also a take out side that serves during the day.
BEST PLACE! Love the food very perfect for dates, and celebrating important events with your loved ones. Food is made with love and the presentations are incredible. make sure to book your table. It gets very busy. The Tasting menu is the best part of the place. Enjoy every moment and dish that comes in. Service is perfect sometimes get busy and understand but love the people. if you wanna be cheap, don’t come here go to apple bees if you wanna be cheap. But it’s worth every penny. if you just wanna go and bother, people, just don’t go. Service was on point!
Amazing. Just so good. This was the first time trying too and we were pleasantly surprised🤩 We finished all of our food too! The fish was perfectly seasoned and NOT GREASY. I got Whiting and chips/ he got cod/ chips. This was the best, most lightest fish and chips we ever had. Great job! We will be coming back very soon.
The food was absolutely delish!!! The Ceviche mixto was fresh and light. My daughters loved the fish tacos and chicken tacos and the seafood paella was divine. Then to top it off the homemade Sangria was the best I've ever tasted!!! 💗💗💗
Food was amazing, the service was fantastic, atmosphere fun, we enjoyed the octopus with dehydrated chimmichuri, crab tostones, ceviche, fish tacos, all beautifully presented and delicious!!! Dessert coconut flan and the chef sent out a citrus cake with meringue, burleed at the table..
We love the food at Brothers Fish & Chips. Good comfort food. It tastes and looks homemade and fresh from the battered fish and french fries to the cole slaw and potato salad. The french fries are seasoned with salt just right. We had a great dinner tonight, All Hands On Deck, a small Cod & Chips, and a side of Potato Salad. One day I'll try something from their selection of bottled wine or craft beers.
The entire experience was amazing! The food was innovative, delicious & presented well & the service was great!
The food here was so good! Ordered the fish tacos and fish and chips, which were exceptional, along with the service. Came during COVID-19 lockdown and they had some small seating outside the takeout section of the restaurant (a table of two and table of four - July 2020). The food was great and included their own artisanal touches, definitely my favorite fish taco I’ve tried because it included mango and slaw on top! Definitely coming back here again.
A must try the food innovated, beautifully presented and delicious. The service was top notch. Great vibe.
Love Brothers. Been coming here since they opened, and this hole in the wall quickly earned a reputation for some of the best fried fish in Westchester. Now they own the place next door and have opened a full seafood restaurant on top of the take out spot, and everything is amazing. They always use wild caught fish and you can taste the difference. Worth checking out.
The chefs tasting was amazing, highly recommend
Great place to eat out or eat-in, while in town. Great service and care to every single dish. Very helpful, friendly staff. Service, food and place ambience has consistently improved with time. One of the best places to eat in our town. Looking forward to continuing to support this great business.
Great service, great atmosphere, and even greater food!! The lobster and plantains was amazing! A little pricey, but definitely worth it!
Just want to thank Brothers Fish and Chips for their excellent meals at a time when I really craved delicious fresh take-out. I learned from my friends at First Village Coffee that Brothers was open at this time. What I had forgotten was how fresh and delicious their food was - the take-out was piping hot and and the mussels were outstanding - grilled shrimp and salmon too. Thanks for the delicious food, generous portions and affordable prices. Even if I wasn't tired of cooking, the meal was delicious!
Well I had the fish and chips and it was delicious. also home made coleslaw that is a must you have to try it.
FIsh is quality -not frozen. The chips are hit or miss. The non-fried options are spectacular too.
A Mother’s Day to Remember at Brothers Fish and Chips I took my mom to Brothers Fish and Chips for Mother’s Day dinner, and it was absolute perfection from start to finish. We chose the Brother’s 6-course tasting menu and were blown away by every detail. We started with a glass of cava, and from there, each course was a stunning journey—fresh oysters, mouth watering baccalà, crudo in a delicious cilantro olive oil, perfectly grilled langostinos, tender octopus on a crisp tostada, and beautifully cooked tuna, and delicious black bass over squid ink rice. The desserts were just as memorable, followed by the smoothest pour-over coffee. Jackie was our server, and she made the entire experience even more special. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely lovely. The restaurant itself is small, intimate, and tastefully decorated with simple elegance. The chef personally came out to present each course, offering thoughtful explanations and adding a personal touch that elevated the evening. Despite being located in a strip mall, don’t be fooled—this place is a hidden gem. Every moment, every bite, every aroma was unforgettable. Huge thanks to Jackie and the chef for making it such a magical night. We will absolutely be back!
Coming home from Rye on Sunday we ask SIRI To find something in the direction we were going. Sounded good, but the location we had to turn around, but other than that, I found no fault. When my husband and I entered, we found it to be warm, quaint, and very relaxing. All I can say about the food it was perfection nothing more nothing less but delicious.may I take this moment to the people who tie their dogs in a safe place in front of the restaurant and your party sat all the way in the back as they barked through the majority of our meal. Awesome fish and chips! The Caesar salad is awesome, too! I'm knocking off a star because they told me on the phone they had chicken tenders (which weren't on the menu, but I thought I'd ask because I was ordering for a family including kids who wanted chicken tenders), but upon pickup it was a fried chicken breast cut into strips. These aren't the same and it felt dishonest. I'd have rather just have been told no, or told what I was ordering more accurately.
As a local, this is one of my favorite destinations. Best fish & chips you can find, wonderful touches with each dish, and an ambiance that makes for a wonderful evening out with friends. Love this place!
Delicious fish and chips—crispy but not overly battered, so you can really taste the fish. The owners and staff are always friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. I usually grab my order to go and enjoy it at home, but it’s always fresh and perfectly cooked.
this place is incredible! every dish is delicious and love the cocktails. great for date night, a party with friends and family, or just whenever you are in the mood for a great meal. order here for catering parties as well and never disappointed!
The best food I’ve had in the area. Very unassuming from the exterior, but the food was fantastic and the ambiance was great for a Saturday night celebration meal. Will definitely be back to try more items from the menu, worth every penny!
What a great little restaurant. Attended one of their tasting events this week and it was truly outstanding. Service was top notch as well. Don’t let the exterior fool you, it is worth it.
Brothers Fish And Chips was an absolute delight! They showcased their fresh fish in the most impressive way, and the presentation was simply stunning. The service was top-notch too. There was this young man who was incredibly friendly and always had a warm smile. Even when we were celebrating a special occasion, they opened a new bottle of champagne just for us! I highly recommend this small place. It’s a hidden restaurant that offers elegant and premium food.
Nice place, loved the Fish and Chips. The place is small but cozy. The menu is simple but to the point. I'll go back soon and also order some to-go from their store next door.
Have seen this place around since it opened and have always wanted to try the take out. Quick and fast service, parking can limited at times but never an issue. They have a take out menu, but I found out that you can order anything off the menu for take out, wish I knew beforehand... really want to try the ceviche. Excellent that you can order 4 different types of fish and 5th selection, shrimp for your fish and chips. Also ordered the all hands on deck, gives you a little bit of everything. Comes with cole slaw and tartar sauce. Would certainly eat in next time. Started as a take out place and expanded into a restaurant... one side is the take out counter. Would recommend.
Great hole in the wall spot in an unlikely location serving fresh seafood with a definite Latino flair. Three fish & chip options (cod, bass, flounder) are just the tip of the menu iceberg. The lobster tostones were an excellent choice to start. The wine list is surprisingly affordable, and weighted toward Spain, Portugal, and Argentina. Good beer and cider selection, too. Desserts were a bit over the top, but in a good way. A little pricey for the location, but not unreasonable for the quality and portions.
We were headed up to Croton Point park, so I used google maps to look up restaurants in the area. Took a chance on Brothers Fish & Chips. We all ordered the fried whitening. we were impressed. Definitely going to go back when we are in the area again.
Really good meal. Casual place. Great service. Mussels were yummy and great to share. Fish and chips nice, very fresh fish. Looking forward to coming back.
Food quality is always top notch. But value and service were below par. $22 for the smallest portion of calamari I've ever seen, by far?. $30+ for what used to be a huge portion of fish & chips but has been cut down to what you'd get at local pub? C'mon guys. Lobster risotto was great though. Service was way too slow. That calamari app took over thirty minutes from when we ordered. Won't be back, at least not for the regular menu.
Beautiful decor. Unexpected find with character and some great food and drink options. The fish tacos were exquisite.
Only complaining because I did the tasting menu (cheaper of the two) I just feel like I really didn't the value that should come with that price tag. Service was pretty bad, paid for the wine pairing and all the wines came out AFTER the food. The wine's themselves were paired poorly and didn't work with the food at all, and the Alberino they served was just watery and gross (vintner at fault, still shouldn't carry something like that though). The first course was excellent, but everything else was kind of meh? The mole on the tuna was fantastic as well, but everything was just overall pretty disappointing especially compared to reviews I had read on here and on reddit. I never leave reviews, I just feel weird paying that much and getting what I got. I guess maybe it used to be good? The chef clearly knows what he's doing, maybe it was an off day? I don't know. I'd be willing to try the food truck or the place next door but I wouldn't recommend as a fine dining restraunt.
Save your money. Over priced blah seafood. Looks nice on the plate but was greasy with no taste. The salad was gross. The crab cakes tasted like hot tuna blobs. $120 for nothing. Oh yeah and they include the tip whether you want to leave 18% or not. Rude.
This place used to be great; but honestly I don’t think I’ll eat here again. I ordered take out this evening and when my food got here my house immediately smelled of low tide. The cod was thick and greasy. The shrimp was ok, and the fries were overdone. The “side of coleslaw” that comes with my meal? Literally a in a condiment container, the same one they use for their tartar sauce. I’m sorry but that’s not a “side”. Years ago they used to make their own hot sauce too, now that comes in a packet. Overall I’m disappointed.
Ate here the other night. Unremarkable fish and chips for $32. Two ok but greasy pieces of cod, decent fries. Lobster bisque came out watery, lukewarm and wishy washy flavor, no crackers or anything. $28 for a bowl of bisque that was by far the worst "bisque" Ive ever had. Two small slices of toasted sourdough came out halfway through dinner. When the bill came, we saw that they automatically give themselves an 18% "service charge" on all parties, even parties of 2. It's more like 20% as Im pretty sure they put the 18% on the tax as well. DO NOT ADD TIP if you feel the REQUIRED 18%-20% "SERVICE CHARGE" is enough. Small note on the bottom of the menu so forget it if you want to determine the tip yourself. We will NOT be back based on our experience. Definitely not worth it. Overrated
Another Westchester Gem bites the dust!! Ordered the cod but got some overcooked oily fish as you can see. Burnt 1/2 inch thick oily fish and soggy chips from the lazy slob that now apparently runs the front of the house and cooks....Must've got promoted or his parents bought the place for him so he could save up and move out of their basement. So sad, we used to love this place and will never go back.
I ordered Via Uber eats (2) orders of fish & shrimp and the fish/shrimp was spoiled and smelled bad. The french fries were over cooked and soggy. The coleslaw was spoiled as well. I will not order from this place again. The food was gross.
