Incredible authentic Mexican cuisine. Highly recommended.

We had the shrimp cocktail and fish tacos. The shrimp cocktail was LOADED with big shrimp and absolutely delicious. The tacos were cooked to perfection as well. Everything tasted fantastic, service was friendly and superb. Highly recommend this place to everyone!!!

Excellent food! The salsa and chips were great! (They have a spicier salsa if you ask for it) Food was cooked to perfection and the drinks were great! You can watch them make their homemade tortillas. Guacamole is made and served tableside. Definitely one of our regular spots now!

It was quiet, which I prefer. It can get quite busy and noisy. It's nice to see familiar friendly faces. They have the best queso fundido. They make the guacamole at the table, although, today they did not. The food is great. It's a nice place for any meal.

A great family style Mexican restaurant. The owner is always there saying hi to the customers. My favorite dish is the large shrimp cocktail. I'm not exaggerating the cocktail has close to 30 large shrimps. All dishes come with more food than you would expect and it's all delicious.

My people, if you want a nice place to sit down and have ether family, friends, or just a relaxing time here is the place to go. It does come with a little bit of a price but family time is priceless. And the food we'll is makes my soul so happy. So yes I do recommend this place you can't go wrong with anything on the menu..God bless you all my brothers and sisters.

Best guacamole anywhere. Made fresh at the table, but somehow there is still something they do that makes it amazing. They make their tortillas in house. For lunch, two of us shared the guac, had a taco a piece and shared a chili rellenos. Everything was delicious. Excellent chill rellenos.

Chicken tacos were great and filling. The salsa while a bit mild on spice for my taste, but is full of flavor. While not much in appearance, this diner seems to have quite a number of regulars that give this place a feeling of engaging in the Oxnard community. The staff appear very friendly. If you find yourself downtown I’d highly recommend it here.

I loved the food. I will always come here when I get the urge for Mexican food. Everything was perfect. They take really good care to make sure you have everything you need. The prices are wonderful, they are wonderful. Better than Yolandas. This is real authentic food. Everything made from scratch. Can't say enough, enjoy.

I love going here. They are awesome with their seafood dishes. I also love their 3-way fajitas. I come back here on a regular basis and it's great every time. Make sure you get their homemade tortillas.

First of all, you will never tell from the outside that there will be a huge and varied menu with so many fresh dishes. The staff is welcoming, the chicken souvlaki and gyros are fantastic, the hummus is fantastic and it's all served so quickly. My only regret was that we were staying at the hotel so I didn't have a chance to go back and try more options. You can also get some pretty amazing seafood dishes.

We did catering with Cabo for an engagement party of 36 people. First of all the manager, Joe was so amazingly helpful and assuring!!!! He really set the tone and we felt everything was taken care of. And it was! The food was amazing ! Warm and delicious! We received so many compliments! The two servers Cabo sent were polite and so helpful. They even helped clear the plates and keep things rolling! Thank you to the team at Cabo for helping us make a very memorable day!!!

Definitely a good Mexican place to go to. Food was fresh and quick, and they make the guacamole in front of you (you even get to choose if you want onions/cebollas or tomatoes/tomates). On the topic of freshness, the moment you walk inside the place, there's a kind lady who makes fresh tortillas and you get about 4 tortillas per order. Definitely would come back here again, 10/10.

The food was great. Our party ordered pastor burrito, chili verde, fried red snapper, and aguachile it was all good. We ordered beer, aquas, and the table guacamole. Table sauces a bit watery. Desert needs working on. Flan was typical, but the carmel sauce was definitely separate from the cooked flan.... the chocolate layer cake was old and dry... the frosting was delicious. I would go back again.

Fantastic Mexican food. Mindful of my allergies and were able to accommodate me. Handmade tortillas that are just so fantastic! I can't say enough, table side guacamole was great, chips and salsa warm and inviting, chile rellenos, fish tacos, burritos, beans, rice, it was all fantastic and an amazing highlight to our trip. Just so fresh and well prepared. Side note: it was truly authentic Mexican food!

I've been here many times but recently went for m best friend's birthday and it was such a nice treat that the waitress asked if we were celebrating a birthday, so we said yes and they brought out the most delicious cream flan and sang happy birthday wishes to my best friend. The food was excellent and the tortillas were to die for. I got chicken fajitas and they were fantastic.

I eat hear quite often and the food and atmosphere combined make Cabo an enjoyable dining experience. The wait staff are friendly and the beer is cold. The dinner portions are large yet still affordable. I definitely recommend Cabo if your looking to fill up on some good Mexican food.

Loved this place for my graduation party from cal Lutheran in May. Service was perfect and food was tasty. They were kind enough to reserve the private area by the bar, which worked out great. Cabo Seafood Grill And Cantina was absolutely delicious! The food was fresh and full of flavor. One of the best parts of our visit was the tableside guacamole it was made fresh right in front of us and tasted amazing. You can really tell they take pride in quality because they also make their tortillas fresh. The restaurant has a nice bar area as well as outdoor seating, which gives you great options depending on the vibe you want. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the overall experience was wonderful. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you’re in the Oxnard area!

We were here with a bunch of friends and I was full from the chips and salsas that they keep replenishing. I got the combination plate - got one chile relleno, one chicken enchilada and one taco al pastor which came with rice and beans. Everything was flavorful and yummy but couldn't finish because I loaded up on chips and salsas! The guac made table side was good too but oh so pricey!

We were visiting Oxnard, and we were hungry. From the outside, it looks like you are at the beach super cute. I loved the inside. It was colorful and looked authentic. We had a great time at Cabo's on our Anniversary Day. We both wanted to try it after a few recommendations and the fact that I used to work in that building in the late 70s when it was a Sizzler Steak House Restaurant. The food and drinks were delicious and the service was awesome. We had appetizers as well as our meal and ended it with dessert. They all came out in a timely manner. I would go again!

Good food at reasonable prices. Margarita was made well with plenty of strawberry and tequila. The music playing very loud and caused the server to hear the order incorrectly. Instead of fajitas, we were brought taquitos. She offered to correct it, but we didn't want to wait for the new order. Food was good, server was friendly. The tables are set up in the parking lot for COVID restrictions and spaced well.

Kind of expensive but average was 15 - 22 dollars a plate. Happy hour is great tho! I got a michelada for $5.50. I should have bought two. The fish was fresh hot and good ! Service was great even tho it was busy. I sat at the bar area and there was a game on. It got very loud if you are okay with the noise and like that atmosphere I would recommend sitting at the bar.

Great service. Food was tasty I had the shrimp and octopus cocktail as well as the grilled shrimp salad. Both were very good. My only comment is the cocktail is challenging to eat because of the tall, narrow glass. I made it work and enjoyed.

Great place to eat and it's not so expensive

Great service, mostly good food. The shrimp on one of my party's meal was over cooked. My green chili pork was tender and tasty. Be prepared this is authentic Mexican food so it may be spicier than you might expect from americanized versions, it didn't melt my mouth but it definitely had some kick. The patio was dog friendly a huge plus for me. That said, I would eat there again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

They The food was great! I read online that they didn't take reservations so I didn't make any for my husband's birthday dinner. Turns out that was wrong. Not only do they take reservations, they had several large parties that night. But they were great about accommodating us and even brought a folding table from the back to seat us. The service was slightly slow, but I suppose that was my fault. And they were great about our 5 separate checks, too. I would definitely come back soon. The prices were moderate, about $15 per person, depending on what you order. And just about every page of the menu said to ask for special requests, which was great bc my mother won't eat seasoned meat and my niece had her heart set on nachos and they weren't on the menu. And they made fresh tortillas and they made fresh guacamole at the table!

The seafood dish I got was really good. I chose the shrimp sautéed in garlic butter grilled vegetables and flattened chicken breast, so good. It's not too pricey. Give em a try. I'll go back.

PRE COVID REVIEW: You know what? Now that I've been here a few times I figure I can rate it well Enough for a review. There's a reason I'm only giving it 3 starts instead of 4 or 5. They have cheese, beans and other stuff in it I didn't really like. Reason I Say other stuff is because I stopped eating it and gave it away. The service? Excellent. Very attentive. They know about their whole menu. Answered all my questions without hesitation. So would I recommend this place? Yeah. I mean it's not AMAZING but it's decent Mexican food. And oddly it's hard to find that in Oxnard. Even with a Mexican food place on every single corner. I'll be back here. Decor: A little older and dirty feeling. Needs to be updated. Customer service: Absolutely amazing. Food: Average. Bathrooms: N/A haven't used them.

Waited too long to be seated when they had said about 15 mins then ended up waiting like 25 mins more and didn't get our food till about an hr later, service wasnt great at all would not recommend this place i had camarones rancheros.

I visited this restaurant in the evening of 11/2/25. It was my first time visiting and its going to be my last. I ordered the breaded shrimp plate ($21 for 6 small breaded shrimp, a spoonful of white rice, some 3/4 of the way steamed vegetables, lettuce and dices tomatoes). My order apparently was forgotten and was finally served when my party was half way thru their meal. The food wasn't really good. Most of it was bland, not too much flavor. Even the horchata I got to drink wasnt really good as well as the flan my family ordered. Somebody in my party ordered fish tacos and ended feeling bad and almost fainted afterwards. 911 had to be called and was driven to the hospital. The staff were helpful with calling 911 and helping in what they could with the person who wasn't feeling well. But other than that, I wouldn't recommend this place or return.

Ordered beef fajitas. Was Served undercooked bell peppers & a few slivers of meat. All for $21. over priced with annoyingly loud mariachis. Waste of time & money

Zero if I could. This place started out great for most of my experiences. Tonight was a game changer. I will never return. We went and were ignored and treated like we we're a problem to be in the establishment. We went to the restroom separately and had consumed a whole basket of chips and salsa before anyone acknowledged us for a simple drink order. We had 4 different people at our table. None of which was established to our server. Our order came out wrong. Not just wrong but duplicate wrong since we only ordered one dish. It was presented in 2 different ways and we accepted even though we didn't order. The older woman(she should be fired if this job is such an inconvenience, she's the worst) that took our order was in a hurry to leave and didn't even make eye contact. Not only she did not make eye contact, she wanted to bust a move to somewhere else before we were done even speaking. We left our food that was incorrectly ordered and finished our drinks and left. First time I've never left a tip in YEARS. Strongly avoid this place! I consider the service part of the dining experience and this place simply lacks any class. Like I said from 4 stars to negative stars. Done.

I went today around 3 in the afternoon with my aunt that lives down the street in the elderly community center and with 2 other people. I got a wet burrito and the other three people got caldo de camaron small, three tacos de pastor with no beans and rice and wet burrito including two drinks being a Coca Cola in a glass bottle and other a glass bottle drink. The totally was 80 dollars and for someone that eats outside I thought that was a lot. So when I got in my car I checked the menu online and added it up again that came out to 65 dollars. 80 - 65 =15 plus the 5 plus the tip is 20 dollars. I just fell like you didn’t charge the right amount or add the tip on top of the totally of the food. I just feel like u guys are dishonest with you charge. I just feel like u need to be checking your receipt when you go.

I had a deeply concerning experience at Cabo restaurant that has prompted me to share this review. My friend and I dined there on a Sunday afternoon, and she ordered the tamarindo drink. Shortly after consuming it, she began to feel unwell. Her condition rapidly deteriorated, leading to a severe stomach illness that required immediate hospitalization. What is particularly alarming is the restaurant's response to this situation. Despite the clear connection between the tamarindo drink and my friend's sudden illness, the management insisted on charging us for both the drink and her meal. This lack of empathy and responsibility is frankly unacceptable. I strongly advise potential customers to exercise caution when dining at el Cabo.The subsequent handling of the situation by the restaurant's management raises serious concerns about their commitment to customer safety and satisfaction.
