First time trying this spot. We really enjoyed our pho. My partner had the chicken pho and i had the shrimp pho. Good portions. Fresh veggies. Also got to try this free tofu dessert was so good! Thank you! Can't wait to go back and try other menu items. Only con is parking lot is quite small
Truly exceptional pho and bunh mi. Very authentic flavors and super great prices and deals. Highly recommend this place. Most amazing staff and food quality
We've been wanting to come grab a banh mi for lunch for a while and just were never around. We finally made it and honestly for $6.50 each, this was a great lunch! We had two sandwiches - the Obama and the grilled pork. Both were good but our favorite was the Obama, which is a mix of a bun cha-like meatball with fish sauce and the grilled pork. It was very flavorful. They both came with the usual pickled daikon and carrot, cilantro and jalapeno (though one of us did add some chili sauce and Sriracha from the counter inside to add more spice). The bread was nice and crusty on both. And unbeknownst to us, if you order two banh mi, you get a free lemon tea, which was delicious and welcomed on a 95deg day. So look, they weren't the biggest or more flavorful banh mi we've ever had, but for the price, the taste, the size and the fact that after two they came with a free cold drink means it was one of the best quick and budget friendly lunch options we've had in the area. We'll definitely have to be back and make these tasty Obama banh mi part of our Saturday lunch rotation.
My first time eating Bahn Mi and it was so amazing! You can tell the bread is freshly made and the beef is so flavorful and juicy too! I tried their Vermicelli noodles with chicken and it was so refreshing and yummy! Hoping to come back soon!
Amazing folks there food is awesome I have had many pho soup in my early times but nothing like this soooooo amazing will be coming back
Yaaa took a bite out of the Bahn mi lemongrass beef. Best! Ever. I like to have it with extra jalapeños . I also got a spring roll wirh shrimp and pork. It's very good. Their peanut sauce is good. And the food took about 10 min wirh medium traffic, I mean customers , of course. I alao got a pic of the menu. As of Feb 7 , 24. Cheers !
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We absolutely LOVE stopping by Pho Banh Mi Che Cali whenever we’re in Pasadena—but honestly, it’s worth a drive from anywhere! The food is consistently fantastic, & the staff are always friendly & welcoming. Our favorite has to be the Lemongrass Beef Banh Mi—it’s bursting with flavor every single time. If you’re in the mood for authentic, delicious Vietnamese eats, this spot should be at the top of your list! • The Wandering Paw •
I got the pho, banh mi, and spring rolls. I got the pandan tofu pudding for free after spending at least $20. Everything tasted good. The banh mi didn't have the pate, which was a disappointment. I'm assuming it was probably due to the demographics in the area. They have a veggie and sauce bar for your pho. They take credit card here. The restaurant is clean and spacious. In the back of the restaurant, they have a small parking lot. Overall, my experience was good. I'd come back to try other items on the menu.
If you’re looking for amazing Vietnamese food, look no further than Phở Bảnh Mì Chè Cali! The restaurant may have an older appearance, but it’s very clean, well-maintained, and full of character. The staff is so sweet, and I love how it feels like a family-run spot—you can truly taste the love in the food. I tried: ✔️ Pho – Rich, flavorful broth with perfectly cooked noodles. ✔️ Banh Mi – Fresh, crispy baguette with deliciously seasoned fillings. ✔️ Spicy Fried Rice (Chicken & Shrimp) – Hands down, the best fried rice I’ve had at any restaurant. ✔️ Egg Rolls – Super crunchy, packed with flavor, and absolutely perfect. Portion sizes are great, sometimes even more than expected, and the prices are fair for the quality. This is a place I’ll be recommending to everyone. If you love Vietnamese food, you need to try it!

Kind of a fancy fast food environment. You order at counter, find your own seating, and they bring your food to you. Excellent broth and egg rolls. Price is very reasonable as well!

If you guys want affordable great food, this is the place to go. As a student, it’s difficult to find food that’s within a reasonable budget due to all other expenses, but this place honestly takes the cherry on top. Every time I’ve come to eat here it’s been great experience for me and not to mention the food is simply AMAZING. To me, this is my go to Pho place every time I am around Pasadena or if I am going to PCC. Overall, all their food I’ve tried so far (and I’ve tried a lot from their menu) has not disappointed me. Please give it a try, I am sure you’ll love it just as much!
Pho broth is clear and sweet, haven’t got the chance to try their famous Obama bahn mi yet. Packed of ppl waiting for their take away orders ~
It did take awhile to get my phone Ramen but it was tasty. It didn't disappoint at all.
This Banh Mi Che Cali is much better than the one that has the same name at San Gabriel. My wife gave it a high score as a picky noodle lover. The Pho there is so delicious, the portion is so big. it's only 5-10 minutes drive from home, so I ordered takeaway several times. I only need two Pho to feed four people at my home. Only $2 extra beef is a big portion with a separated bag. The sandwich is full of stuff, good taste.
Delicious, affordable Vietnamese & Thai dishes, great service, & super convenient for a quick & satisfying dinner or lunch! Their sandwiches are only $6.50 & everything else is inexpensive as well. Great for dining in or takeout.
I was craving Vietnamese food since the day before. Shrimp rolls and Pho. This location did not disappoint at all Peanut sauce was crazy good. Spicy Beef soup was delicious. The broth was tasteful. Service is friendly. Restaurant is clean. Gets busy during lunch. There is some parking on the side. The price is very decent.

Located across the street from Pasadena City College Bahn Mi Che Cali offers the typical Vietnamese fare from eggrolls, Pho, spring rolls, vermicelli bun, rice dishes and bahn mi. The prices are a bit high due to inflation and location of the restaurant. Got the eggrolls 2 for $3 and Bbq pork bahn mi $11 out the door. The eggrolls lacked flavor but was hot and fresh, the Bbq pork bahn mi was delicious, I wish the pickled carrots brought more crunch to the sando but overall it was good. Honestly, there is no competition in the area so if you’re in the mood stop on by! P.s I decided on a baguette before I left and was appalled by the price I think it was about $2.50 I didn’t think about it much so I paid then though, what the heck? BUT….. it was well worth the price. The baguette fresh out of the over was as long as my arm! Solid 3.5 – missing stars due to lack of flavor in eggrolls, no crunch in pickled carrots, small amount of BBQ pork and high prices.
This place is essentially a fast food Vietnamese restaurant. The food is very average. This was my first time here and wasn’t sure what to expect. So I ordered some shrimp spring rolls and a traditional banh mi. The shrimp spring rolls had the thinnest slices of shrimp. I could hardly taste any shrimp at all. The banh mi also had the thinnest of meats. And didn’t taste at all like a traditional Vietnamese banh mi. I really wanted to like this place but the food was lacking.

Food quality has gone down. Prices are up. 6.50 for a banh mi and 12.50 for pho. Entire Banh Mi only has 1 sprig of cilantro and 2 thin slices jalapeños. Meat is skimpy and full of salty cheap pickled carrots. See attached photos.

I tried so hard to like this place . I had the steak& brisket pho and even tried the veggie pho. Both left me disappointed and sad. The flavor fell short on the brisket pho . And for the Veggie Pho , The veggies chosen in this bowl and the base broth just did not flow well together for me. I am always making my way back to Pho Noho or Pho Hut in Glendale it truly is the best.
I used to really enjoy coming here, but unfortunately, my recent visit was disappointing. The pho broth, which is usually the heart of the dish, lacked the rich flavor and depth I’ve come to expect. When the broth falls flat, it affects the entire experience. I truly hope this was just an off day, as I’ve had much better meals here in the past.
They skimp out on noodles if they know you’re a woman for the pho, mostly broth very little noodle, the bahn mi i got had very little of the ingredients in it, and the utensils were not too clean, grimey. Probably never coming here again
