Best food in town! I always bring visitors there because of the wonderful variety of food...something for everyone! I have eaten there for years and the food is consistently good. Their mid-week specials are the best...can't beat the price for what you get! The bacon-wrapped Meatloaf week special is the bomb!
Love this place. We always stop here on the way to LA and have a meal with our friend.
This place offers good food at a reasonable price. The place is not high end but for the price and quality, an excellent choice.
Great food! Reasonable prices, staff was friendly and efficient. Food was ready within minutes of us ordering and the complementary bread really hit the spot! Great family style environment with patio or indoor seating available. This was all very convenient to downtown and walking distance to a few ice cream places if you need a treat afterwards and want to explore some shops or the town square. We really enjoyed this laid back atmosphere after running around wine tasting all day!
Love, love, love this place. Twenty cyclists (bathed and rejuvenated before arriving) enjoyed that we each order at the counter and our meals are promptly brought to our table) so there’s no need to split checks. Help constantly circulates to make sure we have everything we need. Very fresh food nicely prepared. The chicken marsala was fabulous!
Delicious beyond burger with salad and fries. Menu has a good selection to please multiple diets and with a healthy flair. The food was hot and fresh. Service was pleasant, fast, and attentive. Cute indoor and outdoor seating options provide a relaxing ambiance.
Stop by the Odessy Cafe for a good selection of tasty food and drink options. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Great vibe. Super staff. Dependably excellent food!
We love the Odyssey! It is our trusty go-to when trying to mutually decide on a restaurant (one of the most difficult decisions in a marriage LOL). We love the variety of food and everything is ALWAYS superb. The employees are incredibly friendly and helpful. The high chairs are PRISTINE & the buckles aren’t broken - (unfortunately most restaurants in Paso neglect cleaning their high chairs and neglect to inspect them to ensure they aren’t broken). My little family loves the atmosphere and always notice the same locals dining in every time we are there. The odyssey is much more than just a restaurant - it’s a community with incredible food and service.
This is a beautiful restaurant with amazing customer service. We were walking around the downtown and saw this place. We came in and were greeted by a full restaurant. One of the employees greeted us and advised we had a 7-10 minute wait. Sure enough, 8 minutes later they were cleaning a table for us. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. We had the kids lasagna, kids noodles and lamb gyro. All were good and everyone ate it all. Great place!
One of my most favorites as a local! I love their professional and courteous staff, amazingly diverse menu, and how speedy yet attentive they are to the details and delivering. I order using their online pick-up often for my office's work lunches, and every person has something in the menu they love and are pleased. Keep up the great work!
Always good, the service was mixed bag. Hostess is always professional, kind, and accommodating! Waitress, ok service, register gal I’d have to say she was not the greatest. But food is always good! And the value is definitely there!! For 7 of us the bill was under 150 with the tip!
Ordered the ribeye stir fry and it was very good. Must have used a whole steak cause there was alot of beef which I loved. Everything was very fresh. Will definitely be back cause there is alot of entries on the menu I'd like to try. Also the wine b list had very good prices.
The 2 of us shared the ribeye taco and sweet potato fries and that was enough for a light lunch. The steak used was high quality, tender and juicy. We specified medium rare when asked during order and the steak was cooked perfectly. It came with a side salad, fries or soup and we picked the corn soup which was excellent. The sweet potato fries was excellent too and we were too full to finish it
We ate at the sidewalk table (even though there was some inside tables available). The table was shaded, and had a heater. Was pleasant atmosphere, not overly imposing on sidewalk traffic. Service was prompt and courteous, we were kind of a demanding group, but the nice folks put up with our needs and wishes well. 5 stars to the service folks here. The food is good, prices are reasonable and the selection is somewhat diverse. We had everything from rib-eye steak, to fish tacos, chicken teriyaki stir fry, veggie wrap etc. All were good, we finished all the plates. I'd give 4+ stars for the food. The bottled beer was cold. We did not have desert. Good place, would recommend!
Amazing, kind and fast service. Customer service is clearly a top priority here. Their food is great too. Steak tacos were fantastic with the chipotle mayo. Potato leak soup amazing! Burger and spaghetti for the kiddos was gobbled up.
Still the best food in Paso imo. Freshly prepared and cooked, awesome taste and quality, prices are perfect compared to other eateries in the area. Ahi Tuna Stir Fry is my go to, followed by the best Carrot cake around.
My wife and I went in looking for soup. She had the "cream of potato leek" soup and really liked it. I had the fish and chips. It was perfect. A crunchy brown coating and cooked just right. The fries were crispy and tasty. The staff is friendly and the owner is very welcoming. We'll be back.
Odyssey joins many others on the town square in Paso Robles. Just off 101 going south. Menus at the door , seat yourself at well spaced tables, order at the counter and the meal is brought to your table. I chose a BLTA and my lunching partner the Gyros. The BLTA came on a fresh baked bun and the Gyros on a pita. We both choose a Caesar salad as a side. Everything was fresh and delicious. Drinks are self serve at a drink station. For travelers interested in wanting to ditch the fast food, Odyssey is perfect! The restaurant was clean and pleasant, as were the restrooms. The service was fast and the food was delicious and plentiful. Workers are pleasant and the atmosphere relaxed and comfortable. Great family stop with many locals enjoying the fare. Odyssey is going on our list of great travel dining spits. Last but not least they have a great selection of wines. There is a lot to do and see in Paso Robles and the city reflects its growing trend with new hotels springing up close to downtown, the rail station is close by and the town square vibrant. Great parking out front of the shops. Check out the activities in the area, it's a great city to visit and spend time!
The food was very good. Lamb burger and French fries, lemon chicken rice soup was excellent. Too full for dessert, next time. Would recommend for dinner or lunch.
Cozy lunch nook with reasonable prices for top-notch dishes. It has its own simple and independent charm. I like that you order at the counter. It makes service a lot more predictable. Very tasty!
Popped in without a reservation. I loved the Impossible burger, great fries. Clam chowder thin, but full of clams and very tasty. Hubby loved the steak. Pretty nice wine selection. Casual, chill. Very friendly staff
Has gluten free options that are so good! Often has a gluten free soup and salad option too
Our evening at Odyssey started off rocky as our order was partially lost and consequently much of our food that we had ordered wasn't brought to our table. We waited for a long time and then the issue was sorted out. We were cared for like royalty once the error was discovered. Our entire meal was comped, and we were treated to complimentary dessert as well. Everyone on the staff was apologetic and solicitous. I have never experienced such kindness, concern and service after an error. As to the food, it was superb (I wish I could type that in bold font)! I had the lasagna and enjoyed it very much with a generous portion and plenty of sauce. My wife had the chicken picatta which was delicious (I tasted it; the chicken breast was prepared perfectly.) Our guests had the tri-tip french dip , and the Lamb Feta burger, both excellent. They said the burger was like gyro in a burger, and the french dip sauce was unique and really enhanced the sandwich. The sweet potato fries were excellent, as were the french fries I ordered. They were cooked perfectly! Light outer crust while being still fluffy inside. The Cesar side salad I had was nice, with a lot of shaved Parmesan, and good croutons, but not drenched in dressing. It was very light, just perfect. The desserts were also top-notch, we had the cheesecake and it was very good, and our guests split a souffle cake which was lovely. I so appreciated the friendliness of the staff, they didn't treat us like lepers after there was a problem, they were insistent to fix it. We were checked on no less than three times by different people after we received our food. The owner took a personal interest in making sure everything was taken care of, and thanked me for giving them the chance to make things right. They know how to treat guests. The service and food were so good after the mishap that I was prepared to pay something by the time we were ready to leave. The outdoor patio in the rear where we were seated was charming and gave shelter from breezes and a touch of privacy. Nice heaters kept us toasty. Without question we intend to return; there are so many tempting choices on the menu, that it was almost hard to choose. And the food lived up to the title "fresh" in the restaurant description. Elegantly prepared food with nice portions from a variety of world cuisines. The presentation was marvelous, and the prices very reasonable. You could exhaust a thesaurus looking for positive descriptive words. A gem!
I live alone, just outside of town, past the airport. I come in an get 2 meals, that turns into 4 meals for around $45. Just over $10 a meal, for high quality food, from a great place. What more could you ask for???
Great place to get a variety of food for the family. There is something for everyone on the menu. The staff was very nice and attentive. We informed them about something we didn't like about what my son ordered, and they replaced it right away. Not only that, but the manager came over to check on us and apologize and refund the money. We’ll be back to try the cakes!
Great casual restaurant in Paso Robles. It has a relaxed atmosphere and delicious food. The ordering is done at the counter and everything is brought to your table by friendly staff. The cuisine is worldly, there are American, Mexican, Asian, and European dishes to choose from. Two different kind of soups are offered daily. Self served drinks, a great wine collection, awesome desserts and a charming patio complete the offerings. This restaurant is a favorite among the locals. I highly recommend it!
A lunch stop in the middle of a 7 hour drive. Loved the casual feel yet still had a superb meal without the pretentiousness. Self serve, delicious food, wine and beer. What's not to love?! I had the salmon salad with roasted veggies and a glass of very good wine. Salmon cooked perfectly. Veggies so flavorful. Husband had the lasagna, asparagus soup and a draft beer. Lasagna had a perfect balance of a slightly sweet red sauce and quality fillings. Asparagus soup was perfect too. The chef knows his business. Don't let the stripped down interior fool you. The food is amazing!
Very friendly staffs and tasty food! It’s family style cuisine in Paso. If you are looking for something low-key, simple with good prices, this is the place. Their dishes are generous as well - love their creamy Cajun shrimp pasta salads. I personally enjoy going there for lunch on the patio :)
Tofu tacos were amazing and filling! Also, I'm not vegetarian!
Great food at a good value and friendly, efficient staff!!!
Cozy, intimate space with fantastic eats. A great place to get off your feet for a few minutes and enjoy downtown Paso. Super chill staff and relaxed atmosphere.
Odyssey World Cafe in Paso Robles is a culinary gem that captures the essence of global flavors. The diverse menu, featuring Mediterranean, Asian, and other influences, is a delightful journey for the palate. Each dish is a masterpiece, skillfully prepared with fresh, quality ingredients. The inviting ambiance and friendly staff create a welcoming atmosphere, perfect for any occasion. From the first bite to the last, the dining experience at Odyssey World Cafe is a symphony of tastes and textures, leaving patrons with a memorable and satisfying culinary adventure. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this cafe is a must-visit for those seeking an exceptional dining experience in Paso Robles.
This place has a great name to begin with and then the food was on point. I had the smoked salmon sandwich special with a Greek salad side. I decided to sit outside despite the 90 degree Saturday weather. I found it quite fitting that some amplified musician was playing Okie from Muskogee in the city park. Merle Haggard always weighs heavy on my mind when California traveling is afoot. I had hoped to randomly pick a great restaurant and I did. The interior was a bit posh for my sunburned, State park camping spring adventure review. I believe Jade Jackson is from this town known as Paso Robles. She was a great inspiration a few years back and I see how this community produced such a bright star. Hopefully she’s working on some new wordsmithery or polishing up the past. But anyhey, following the Salinas river watershed was a fun couple of hours after a persistent marine fog layer. I highly recommend this place to recharge any adventure. Cheers y’all!!!
Stopped on our way home from Monterey, had the BEST rib-eye sandwich!!! Seriously 10/10.
Thank you to everyone who recommended we stop here while visiting Paso. This place is yum. Pictured: lamb gyro with hummus on the side, chicken-corn chowder with poblano chiles and Greek salad on the side, and a lovely outdoor dining area for days when it's not 40 degrees outside at lunch time.
Your Salmon pasta is so delicious. If you are a Salmon lover you will love this dish.
Amazing food. I recommend lunch portions so you have room for desert. Everything was delicious.
This place is GREAT. I'm take rhat back.... It's AMAZING. Talk about serving great food, and having a great selection of meals to choose from. Their prices are very good. Meals range from pasta, sandwiches, food plates, steak, seafood, sandwiches, soup, salad, desserts, and I'm sure I'm missing at least twenty other wonderful items. I've enjoyed their French onion soup, along with salad, sandwiches, NY Steak (hella tasty & well priced), lemon bar with fresh whipped crema, and their warm gluten-free lava cake with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle (this was amazing). The atmosphere is a bit of a home feeling. You can get up and refill your own drinks (water, coffee, soda, tea) at your own will. They also have a beer fridge where you grab a beer, and open it on the wall opener yourself. This place has been here for 26+ years and is absolutely awesome. This is definitely one of my new lunch and dinner spots, especially with friends and family from out of town. The owners come out and greet their customers throughout the day when they are there. They are an amazing couple. So yes.... I would definitely recommend Odyssey World Cafe for lunch, dinner, dessert with coffee, or any other reason you want to go there.
My family has been here many times, but this is my first time. The food was incredible, great service, and a reasonable price.
Great food. Super friendly staff. Lots of seating and outdoor dining too.
Defidently the best ❤️ I love there Clam chowder! And there steak is always amazing and good priced! I also love there drinks! As you can see this delicious apple juice in the photo, I rate this amazing restaurant a 5 stars because: amazing customer service, amazing food and drinks, cozy and warm restaurant, and very good social distancing! Thanks for the amazing experience! ❤️
Nice variety on the menu. You order/pay at the counter, and then they bring the food out to you. My husband ordered the salmon entree and I had the fish & chips. Both dishes were prepared well and delicious.
Don't go home hungry!! We always come to Odyssey when we are in town. Never a disappointment. We started with a Hummus plate. Yum! My husband had 3 Cod Taco's. They were huge! 3" high filled generously with cod, Pico, cabbage and topped with red onion. I ordered Chicken Marsala (lunch portion). I usually eat a lot (lol) but could not eat all of it. Delicious! They have a nice wine selection too
We came in because of the gluten free options and we’re very happy that we did. I had the shrimp pasta because gluten isn’t a problem for me and it was delicious my wife had a tri tip sandwich with gluten free bread and she was only able to eat half, lucky me gets the other half for lunch. All in all it was a pleasant experience and the service was great.
If I could give this restaurant 10 stars I would! My first time eating here and Anna, Marcus and Owen were nothing but helpful the entire time. Wide range of items on the menu from hamburgers to steak to gyro wraps and lasagna so there's a little bit of everything for everyone! My husband and I ordered the Creamy Cajun Shrimp Linguine pasta, the Aged Ribeye Steak(aged for 8 months), mimosa, seven layered cake, New York cheesecake and the chocolate peanut butter brownie. One of the Ribeyes wasn't cooked to my husband's liking so we sent it back and Anna came to apologize and that they were working on getting him a new one which we really appreciated! She even took the time to chit chat with us. Everything and I mean everything we ate was perfectly seasoned, probably one of the best steaks I've ever eaten. Highly highly recommend! We can't wait to come back and try other items on their menu. Thank you for a wonderful dinner experience!
The food is great and staff very nice, we were a bit confused at first because we weren't aware we needed to order at the counter, but we really appreciated their flexibility (dietary restrictions) and everything was delicious.
The portions here are generous, big enough to leave you nicely full, but on top of that they surprise you with a complimentary side that pushes you straight into happily stuffed territory! The place is a bit tucked away and easy to miss from the street, but it is absolutely worth seeking out.
Consistently good. I have not been disappointed with anything I have tried so far on the menu. Fresh. Has that "homemade" flavor. It is always clean, the staff is always friendly. Casual. I recommend the Chicken Parmesan.
Our party of two stopped in for a late lunch at this very casual cafe. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. I liked having the option of choosing 2-3 sides as my meal. I had the homemade chicken & rice soup and the Greek salad. Both side orders were delicious and enough food for a light lunch.
I had a great experience at this lunch spot. The place was very clean and had a casual vibe that made it easy to relax and enjoy my meal. The service was quick, and the staff were super friendly and I felt welcome as soon as I walked in. The food was delicious, with great portion sizes and amazing presentation. They even had specials, which added to the variety. Prices were reasonable, making it a great value for the quality of the food. The setup was convenient too. It’s a seat-yourself style, and parking was easy to find. One thing I really appreciated was the cool paintings and overall environment and they added a unique touch. I’d definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a tasty, casual meal.
We were lucky to get a table at this restaurant for ThanksGiving lunch when every other restaurant in town was closed. Staff were super nice and attentive and made everyone feel welcome despite having to work on Thanksgiving. The food itself was pretty good but nothing extraordinary. Good mix of vegetarian, fish and meat dishes. They sell some pretty good cakes too. Definitely good value for money. Dog friendly tables on the patio out front.
This is a great spot to eat in downtown Paso Robles. I went with family, took it to go, we all had different dishes, everyone was happy with the food. The servings are generous portions and reasonably priced. The three olive pasta was so frikken good, loved it. It's a casual spot, order at the counter or call in your order. Don't dress up to eat here. The service was good. Downtown is very busy, parking can be challenging.
Great place to catch a healthy lunch or dinner. We are staying at Paso Robles RV Ranch and this restaurant was recommended by the staff. The first time I ate here, I ordered the chicken salad, which was big enough to take home for another meal. My husband had a cheese burger. Both were excellent. (Pics below) We liked it so much that we came back again for lunch. I ordered the chicken stir fry and my hubby pastrami sandwich and a Greek salad on the side. Both were great but honestly, I could have eaten the Greek Salad as my meal. So good. (Sorry, no pics of our second meal.) Highly recommend. There is no table service and you order at the window.
Odyssey World Cafe was a nice surprise. We were hungry and driving past the area so stopped by for lunch. They vegetable wrap was good and o got a lamb feta burger also very good. Atmosphere at the restaurant was inviting and the staff nice. I asked for seconds of their pickles and the girl was more than happy to bring me some without charging for it though I offered to pay. You order food by the register, then they bring you your food to your table. Overall they were very welcoming and food was great. They also had a decent wine selection. I would recommend them to the neighborhood and to the ones passing by.
Lamb gyro was quite good indeed. I feel like this place really tries to be fancy but then you order at the register and then they bring food the lamb was a bit dry but honestly it was great. I'll probably be going again on my next visit to Cali.
had the chicken marsala pasta, creamy corn soup, salad and bread with delicious olive tapenade and enjoyed all of it. quiet place where you order at the counter, and friendly staff brings your meal.
Loved the place. I'll definitely go back, but I won't order the fish and chips. The fish was overcooked. Everyone else was very pleased with their meal
Good food, nice ambiance, quiet and peaceful. Service was a little lacking. They weren't very inviting and at times seemed a little lost. But it was alright since it was mostly self serve style. But for the price of the food you would expect a little more. Still had a good time and experience, especially since the meal and dessert was pretty delicious and good serving sizes.
Large assortment of things you can get here. Prices are fairly reasonable and for the most part, the flavors are good. I got a ribeye sandwich for $19 and it was pretty tasty though a bit under seasoned. The Cajun shrimp pasta was very flavorful but just a bit too spicy that my girlfriend couldn’t eat that much of it. All in all, would come back and try more
I got the meatballs marinara. It was very good. My wife got cod tacos, also very good. All the other plates I saw on other tables also made me want to order that. In other words, I highly recommend this restaurant. Meatballs $19, tacos $23.
I have always liked Odyssey World Cafe. It has a very casual atmosphere with really good food. There is a wide variety of food choices, everything from soup and salads, to pasta, burgers, tacos, fish and steak. It's not fast food, but real good home cooked meals with good flavors, and not super expensive. Oh, they have amazing desserts too! The service is quick and they are always coming around to see if you need anything. Overall, this is a great place for a date night or with the whole family!
This is not a generic cafe. The fish and chips have a distinctive texture and flavor, and I would definitely recommend the chicken marsala pasta! The pasta was creamy, tender, and succulent. The molten chocolate cake, with whipped cream was perfection! This place also serves complimentary bread (super soft), butter, and olives. The staff was very friendly.
Odessy is one of my favorite restaurants in downtown Paso, the the food is always on point, tastes great, and well priced. Service is different than normal resurants. You walk in and grab a menu, then choose your own seats. When you're ready to order, you walk head to the counter and place your order and pay there, from there they'll give you a number and they'll bring your food to you, drinks are self served as well. The atmosphere is nice, simplistic, and very minimalist, it's not my personal cup of tea, but the fact that Odessy has been in its location for as long as I can remember is a true testament of how good of a restaurant it is.
My curried chicken salad was nice. Not overly sweet, with well-seasoned dressing that was perhaps a touch too heavily applied. Crisp veggies, good sized pieces of chicken. I'd avoid the bread that came with the salad, though. Just an odd flavor and texture, a bit unpleasant. My uncle enjoyed his steak bowl, as well. I tried a bite, and it tasted totally fine. The menu, while adequate, wasn't necessarily inspired or super exciting. We did, however, find dishes we enjoyed - so, again, fine. We were utterly dismayed by the howling children behind us, though of course that isn't the restaurant's fault. No points off for that. I was, however, a bit skeeved out by the slightly dusty interior and overall musty smell of the back seating area overlooking the rear patio. I'll probably not be returning on my next trip to Paso unless the people I'm with really want to go, but it wasn't the worst food experience I've had there.
We were driving through the town and stopped by this place based on the reviews. The interior is a bit dated but has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Food was pretty nice. The only thing we did not really like was the order of kid’s hamburger, which did not have anything on it and was very dry. The food came out very fast without much of a wait. The waiters stopped by couple of times to check on us if we were doing good. The interesting part is that you get the menu and once you make your selection, you go to the counter to order your food and pay for it upfront. You are also asked for the tip before you get to experience any service, which is very weird.
I like the model of counter service to bring customers cost down, but then at least the restaurant has to offer decent food. That $22 three-olive pasta is like 1 part pasta and 4 parts chopped olives and tomatoes from a Jar. Not a very nice flavor and felt nauseous after eating that many olives and hungry after eating so little pasta. Somehow spent $60 on 2 mediocre (at best) meals and a 12oz IPA I had to get/open myself (also offer more than 1 IPA, especially if the only one is a wheat IPA!). Ping tip would be to pay slightly more to go to an actual restaurant Staff very friendly and atmosphere was lively but kinda cafeteria-esque.
Cajun Creamy Pasta flavor was great, but someone should train them to clean the shrimp and de-tail it when served in sauce
Odyssey World Café – A Longtime Favorite with a Recent Misstep I've been meaning to write a review for Odyssey World Café for quite some time. My family stops here almost every time we’re driving north along the 101, usually for lunch. We grab takeout and eat in the nearby park, which makes for a lovely experience. The setting, combined with the food, has made this a go-to stop on our journeys. The standout, and our most consistently ordered item, is the salmon salad. We’ve gotten it every time, and it continues to deliver. Five out of five. The grilled salmon is perfectly cooked and flavorful, paired with fresh vegetables, pine nuts, and cheese in a well-balanced combination of textures and tastes. It's genuinely something to look forward to and enough to make me recommend Odyssey to others without hesitation. Another absolute gem on the menu is the brown butter strawberry cake, which we’ve also ordered repeatedly. This dessert is a divine experience—a complex tapestry of flavor and texture. The sweetness is perfectly restrained, allowing the fresh tartness of the strawberries and the subtle, earthy, slightly salty richness of brown butter to shine. It's one of those rare desserts where brown butter is not just present but the undisputed hero. It tastes like the feeling of coming home. We’ve also tried various entrées in the past—most notably the lamb burger and the tri-tip French dip sandwich—and they’ve been decent. Not quite on the level of the salmon salad or cake, but solid, respectable choices. Unfortunately, I can’t give Odyssey a five-star review this time. My most recent experience left me genuinely disappointed, specifically with the French dip sandwich. I had enjoyed it on previous visits, but this time, the quality fell noticeably short. The sandwich itself was slightly dry—not terribly so, but enough to be underwhelming. The meat lacked its usual flavor, and the bread and cheese were unremarkable. On its own, it was an average sandwich—neither terrible nor great. But where it truly fell apart was with the au jus. And I hesitate to even call it that. The dip was appalling. I’ve had tea with more flavor. It tasted like one part broth mixed with nine parts hot water, resulting in a liquid that did nothing but make the sandwich soggy without adding any of the expected savory richness. A proper French dip should reward you with a burst of meaty umami when dunked; instead, this one gave me a choice between choking down a dry, claggy sandwich or soaking it in a tepid broth that was the flavor equivalent of light beige. There is no excuse for this. The au jus was inferior to watered-down beef ramen or even cheap bouillon—and I’m not convinced either of those fully qualify as food. It was a $20 sandwich I wouldn’t have been satisfied with at $5. I sincerely hope this was just a one-off misfire and not a sign of declining standards. Odyssey World Café has been a favorite of mine for years, and I’m rooting for it to redeem itself next time. But this experience did leave me questioning the consistency of their quality, and that’s not something you want in a place you’ve come to rely on.
The only reason I am giving these guys 2 stars is because of the service. They were very kind. For a “World Cafe” we were left wondering what “world” they meant. This seemed to be an “odyssey” down the canned food aisle. We ordered the melted Brie sandwich, the Italian marriage cup of soup, the raspberry side salad, and sweet potato fries (which came with ketchup). The sandwich left much to be desired. It consisted of cold bread, canned artichoke hearts, slightly warmed Brie slices, and a bunch of sliced almonds. Very little flavor, and cold. Very disappointing. The soup reminded us of a can of Progresso. A decent soup, but something expected at home, not a 4.5 star restaurant. The salad and the sweet potatoes, although nothing spectacular for either, were good, and seemed to be the only things with flavor. Aside from the friendly staff, the only other things going for this place are that it’s dog friendly and located in the center of town.
Very disappointed in our experience here. The staff reception was mixed. The person who greeted us was quite friendly, but those bringing the food wore dirty, greasy t shirts. The salad greens were old and wilted, yuk, didn’t touch it. The Ruben sandwich was just OK, not particularly high quality meat. The cauliflower soup was excellent. Definitely wouldn’t go here again.
Liked the casual atmosphere but the veggie wrap was under seasoned and the steak salad had large fatty chunks and needed more fresh vegetables.
My wife and I have eaten here occasionally over the years. We went today and got one of our usual favorites, the Ahi stir fry. Both of our bowls had shrimp shells in them. This particular dish does not have shrimp in it. We concluded that, either they are preparing shrimp next to vegetables, and the shrimp shells somehow found their way into the other food, or they are using leftover food from other people's meals. It seems like quality has gone down here over the years.
It was my birthday, and I was truly disappointed. The fries were under cooked and cold, the pita was too soft, and the sauce was under salted, and not smooth. All in all, my birthday lunch was sad.
This is basically dorm food. Can taste the frozen vegetable and ahi was rubbery. Clam chowder watered down and tasted like cheese. Chicken teriyaki is foster farm chicken breast frozen veggies and over drenched cheap teriyaki sauce. Would not come back again.
