Nu-Griddle Cafe

Absolutely will be coming back with the whole family. I had breakfast with my 2 sons and we enjoyed the Nu Griddle Cafe very much. The sevice was great, our server was so friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and you could taste the love with every bite! 6 stars if I could!

I was gonna rate it 4 stars because of the smoky smell, but everything else was so good that I decided to do 5. No frills diner with good friendly service and great food served reasonably fast, and very reasonably priced. I would definitely come back here next time I'm passing thru. We walked out of two other places before coming here. I'm glad we did.

The typical diner from the good old days. Charming, and the waitress was friendly as can be. They have two sections, one for smokers. Two open doors between them. It still exists, amazing. My regular breakfast was as it should be.

I don't believe places in Texas don't actually make sausage gravy.. They did put some sausage in country gravy for me, very much enjoyed the food and the friendliness of the wait staff.. I'll be eating there again next week

Do you want to go somewhere to have a old style chicken fried steak dinner well then Nu Griddle a place to go. A warm atmosphere with a nice old-fashioned type service great for dining. It's become one of my favorite places since I came back home.

Love coming here for breakfast. Cierra and V are amazing waitresses. The owner is always there making sure you feel welcomed. Great food and great people

Old time jukeboxes, and our waitress was super sweet. We got our food the way we asked ""real food"" gravy was homemade, grits perfect, and watching ol timers laugh and joke!!! I sooooo loved it!!!

I have breakfast every morning that I work in plainview at the hospital. The kindest people best service and good food. Always prompt and hot food. Best home cooking away from home!!

I ate at nu-griddle for the first time last weekend. As I entered the restaurant, I was smacked in the face with cigarette smoke and the smell of what I would describe as, "breakfast." I didn't realize that indoor smoking at restaurants was still a thing. After being seated in the no smoking section, the cigarette smoke became bearable. The food is great, and the prices are even better. Its standard breakfast food. Eggs how ever you want them, bacon and hash browns cooked nice and crispy. I will return, and plan on making it an every weekend breakfast spot.

What a great little restaurant run by great ladies and very thankful for their years of service here at this restaurant so glad that they are in Plainview. I stopped by this place for lunch today, I was looking for a nice little breakfast place for lunch. The food was awesome, I especially liked the friendly wait staff. I was traveling from Amarillo and thought I left my wallet at the hotel, I explained to the nicest waitress I ever had and offered to pay via Venmo, Zelle, Google Pay, etc. They could not accept any of this, she told me she would pay the bill if I promised to "Pay it Forward". I ended up finding my wallet thank goodness. Thank you for your integrity and understanding, we need more people in the world like her.

I stopped by this place for lunch today, I was looking for a nice little breakfast place for lunch. The food was awesome, I especially liked the friendly wait staff. Unique and old fashioned restaurant. Nu-Griddle has been around for a very long time. They allow smoking in the front, but they have a separate no smoking dining area. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive. Breakfast is good, with lots to choose from. Their pancakes are good and their coffee is good, too.

Good food take a little while to get done but nice when ur with family just the smoking side can be a lil overwhelming at times

Great food made to order service was great but they still have smoking and non smoking sections so be aware of you have breathing difficulties

A long forgotten favorite lol dont go here if you are looking for a modern dining experience. Old smoke filled dinner classic jukebox with a nonsmoking section. Great food good people.

I really liked the place, it kinda took me back in time. The people are great and the food is good.

I liked the service and food options. The staff were friendly, too. And it's affordable. I was not a big fan of the cigarette smoke, because even the non-smoking room had a pretty strong smoke smell. But I guess it's great for those who like to smoke.

2nd visit there. Friendly staff. 1st visit was pleasant. 2and visit my friend found a black hair in her food (she is a blonde). Wasn't really apologetic, however, did replace her food with a fresh plate. I'd give 5 stars... but because of the hair... 4 it is.

The food and service were really good, the place just felt really dirty to me and to my surprise they actually still had a smoking section.

Have an all day menu, have breakfast specials from 5am to 10am, lunch specials from 10am to close at 2pm. Old fashion cafe with booths and juke box at each table with a selection of music. Standard drinks tea, coffee and soft drinks During lunch specials used to have great tasting cobblers. Prices are reasonable for amount of food ordered.

This place is greasy and dirty and they serve the locals first before other people which is fine. But it was nasty in here, and I know what I got was not 2 eggs, that was barely an egg, and the hash Browns were hard hard hard. Well, overdone been sitting out for a while, crispy. Dirty.. sticky

I got the 2 eggs with ham breakfast. Ham was paper thin and only a spattering of overcooked hash browns. The portions are ridiculously tiny. It looked like I ordered off the kids menu. Don't come here if you're very hungry. I did not leave satisfied. Also, this place allows smoking. When I walked in there was a bunch of old guys staring at me while hacking up a lung. Not a good atmosphere at all. I would give 1 star but the service was actually pretty good. Very attentive and nice.

Worst breakfast in Texas, toast was not toast it was warmed bread, tiny pile of greasy hash browns and 3 little pieces of bacon. Should have eaten somewhere else.

Nice people. They put the salad aka lettuce on the plate. Also it is a smoking anywhere cafe. When I asked why she said that is how we do it We did inform her this is our first time here. I had the chicken fried steak , she said that is what they are famous for. It was edible. For the non -smokers this is not the place for you.

Went in today seen the sign for smoking or non smoking section and walked out the whole entire restaurant stunk like cigarette smoke. Nasty! Should have outdoor seating for non-smokers.Why do we need a smell that smoke

My wife and I stopped here for breakfast, although the service was really good the food and prices were not as good as the service. The menu was deceptive for what you get for the price. Not everything is homemade. A very rundown atmosphere. Would I recommend to eat here? Unfortunately I would have to say no.

At the 30 min mark waiting for our food and gentlemen sat down next to use and recieved his food in 6 min or so, but at 40 min mark as the customer who just sat down recieved their food in 6-8 minutes, that was the last straw! I figured i see what the hold up was and assumed the other side must be busy, but when I see their was literally two other customers on the other side????? So they served every single other customers that arrived after us while we sat for 45 min or more. It's ashame cuz I did like this place.
