Cafe Gecko

This was my first time here and I'm definitely coming back! I had the Cajun chicken pasta and it was so yummy! Their kitchen is open till 2am so I'll be taking advantage of their takeout instead of having something delivered & paying their delivery fees. It's a cute sports bar with TVs everywhere. I especially liked their covered patio. I asked if they have wifi, they do, so I'll be bringing my laptop and working on their patio when it gets warmer. And Courtney, our super friendly waitress, said they have lots of men in the evenings, so possible place to take a new date, or find someone to date. So very glad I came! \:)/

Love this place! I've gone for years, back when they were in Austin Ranch. The Turkey Melt and Sour cream chicken nachos are a MUST. Drinks are also great. This has become a regular spot for me and my coworkers and have been asked "why didn't you tell us of this place sooner?". Worth the visit.

This is a cool place to go after work when you just want to pick back with some co workers and have some drinks and a few shots. The nachos are really good. The service is great and prices are good. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to kick back after a long hard day/month. Great atmosphere!

The shrimp chowder here was really good. Consisted of bacon bits if you like bacon, potatoes, corn and shrimp. The flavor stuck with me as well as the portion size. This was my first visit here and I enjoyed the food and the service.

Best cheese steak sandwich ever. Beats philly in my 6 year experience living there. The food here is awesome and great value. Give it at try takeout is how we did again today but they are open.

My girlfriend and I love this place. Service is always fast and friendly. The food is amazing. Make sure to try the pizza and the nachos. NAAAACCCCHHHOOOOOSSS. And last but not least if you happen to sit at the bar and meet Mike, he is awesome. 😁

Great - we came by on a Friday night and were able to get our party of 8 seated right away. Service was good, drinks were good, and food was great. Had the Stuff Jalapeno's and Blackened Chicken nachos. Will be back.

One of our favorites.❤️ We were actually regulars at The Colony location for years until we moved to Richardson. Different owners but still the same fantastic menu and amazing staff. I tried veggie burger last night and it was phenomenal. Gecko always be one of our go-to spots

Love getting the chicken stuffed jalapeño and seafood nachos half price after 11pm. To be honest, I would pay full price for them because they are so delicious and that ranch sauce. Phenomenal!!

Great sports bar which is a great restaurant on its own. The menu and food and service are first class. More variety on the menu than most bars and many restaurants. Just down right delicious food and a cold beer, hard to beat any time of day, Very tech friendly too just bring a cord and you can charge up sitting at the bar

Awesome customer service. Food is fresh and very good. This is those kind of place where everything is GOOD. They are always eager to please you. Beer is COLD ALL THE TIME. Great selection. My Kind of place to relax with a cold one.

I've been going here for years. Drinks are good and food is delicious. My favorite is their queso, grilled chicken spinach salad, and chichinitza pizza.

Cafe Gecko in Plano is always one of the best options if you're hungry or thirsty but also looking for a spot that's more laid back. The staff is next level; very personable. Everything is good but whatever you decide to order, get a side of ranch and/or honey mustard. Mayyy be the best ever.

Great food and drinks. I'm updating this review because they have now added a urinal in the mens room, thus resolving the restroom line issue. Make sure you try either the sour cream chicken enchiladas, or the sour cream chicken nachos! I have no idea how they make it, but its so good you wanna just smear it all over your face. Also, their pizzas are outstanding!

The queso is rich and creamy, with just the right amount of spice, and the addition of chicken makes it even heartier. It pairs perfectly with their fresh tortilla chips. The Chicken Quesadillas are another great choice—stuffed with plenty of well-seasoned chicken and gooey cheese, then grilled to a crispy, golden-brown perfection. They come with a side of salsa and sour cream, adding a nice balance of flavors. Overall, both dishes hit the spot for a casual and flavorful meal! Definitely worth trying if you’re craving cheesy, comforting Tex-Mex.

Great experience. Drinks were prompt and on point while I waited for my Tesla to charge. Didn’t order any food this time around but will try next time. (Only reason for 4 stars) will update once I try the food.

Food was good. But Mike the bartender tried to slip us well drinks for our second drink after we made premium choices for our first drink, and charged us as if. Unrepentant and shameless. I recommend you avoid unless it's late and you are desperate.

Have been here at least 20 times, they have on the menu “PBR always 3 dollars”. Me and my buddy got 3 PBRs each, they charged us 5 dollars a can. I said “shouldn’t that be 3 dollars?” She said “uh well you got the 16 oz, we’re out of the 12 oz, so it’s 5 dollars” I can assure you they have never had a 12 oz PBR (no bar does). And I’ve drank more than my fair share of 16 oz PBRs for 3 dollars here… server didn’t fix the check. Also messed up toppings on both pizzas. And the place smells kinda funky now lol. I used to be a server so am very forgiving. Also never leave reviews. But I do not recommend this place lol I’m embarrassed to have brought my two friends here.

This place is not deserving of a star rating but 1 is my only option. Dont waste your time, the locals arent there, tourists aren't..no one is. We should have walked right backnout. It was a complete desert. You walk in, there is an awful sewer smell. We sit at the bar and the place is empty and an older white man greets us with disdain as if we are not welcomed about 15 minutes after sitting. The behind the bar area it was pretty gross. The bar top was sticky and had a wet towel smell and tiny knats flying around. The food was definitely not worth eating and for cafe food it took 45 minutes to receive...again i say no one else was there. The drinks hardly had any liquor in them and tasted watered down. From the horrible customer service, gross food, and filthiest...never going their again.

I had my weapon on me and the sign clearly stated I could carry as long as I'm licensed. He said he wouldn't serve me and said it didn't matter what the sign said. Needless to say, the 14 people we had here will not be returning. I'm disappointed to be refused service because I followed the posted signs. Update: I appreciate you following up but the response is surprising. I've attached a picture of one of your signs. It states the unlicensed cannot carry. There are various signs for either open or concealed and I make sure to follow them as stated. In a bar which serves over 50% alcohol, there would be a 51% sign where even concealing would not be permitted. I wouldn't jeopardize my license in any way as I've had it for years and it's important for me to maintain. Had your bartender been anything but rude and condescending it would have been different. I asked him if I could conceal it and he said he wouldn't serve anyone who had a gun! He said it didn't matter what the sign said because he was in charge. He then proceeded to call Plano police to have me followed stating I was intoxicated!? I had one drink and didn't finish or eat my food because of the ordeal! (I verified he was the caller.) We come here every week and have done so for years. I actually considered it my "Cheers" bar until last night, which is what made it sting worse.

Went today.. wish I hadn’t! It was horrible food! Suddenly salad with so much Cajun seasoning it was awful! The chicken in it was mediocre at best. Flavorless except for the massive amount of Cajun seasoning.. I literally feel sick in the stomach from eating the few bites I ate! I had to pop a mint when I got in the car to keep from being nauseous! Hubby’s order didn’t even come with what the menu said it did and we got a sorry, we didn’t get that stuff yet.. well they shouldn’t have it on the menu.. Can’t smoke on the patio anymore.. they were nice about it but still.. I get it, not really a big deal, just letting people know. Nice waitress, really hope she doesn’t put this place on her resume when it goes under! More than disappointing.. not even worth trying a second time.. I doubt they get any better!

My girlfriend wanted to meet a group of us at Gecko two days ago, Saturday, 10/18/25. I did not want to go there because they habitually NEVER EVER get my tab correct. I ordered ONE mixed drink and 1 water. Spirit drinks are $9 on the menu. When I asked to close my tab, the female server handed our group our bills. The bill she handed me was for $17.05 which was an order for a sandwich that a person at our table ordered. I let the server know this and she agreed that she handed someone else's bill. She said she'd correct it and bring me the right one. I hopped up and followed her to the cash register and she tapped around on their bar tab system. She said that she fixed my bill and walked off. No receipt to verify, nothing. She said she fixed it, I mean, it is just 1 mixed drink so I left. This morning, my debit card shows a $17.05 charge. This happens ALL.THE.TIME at Gecko.
