I like this restaurant for good, late night, quick drive-thru Mexican food. It's basically like an Alberto's, but with better consistency. It tastes like you hope it will, every time.

We love the food here. Especially the Carne asada fries.

Man that carnitas burrito hit the spot. It was delicious and its open 24 hrs. Damn near impossible to find something that good late at night

I like a simple bean and onion burrito. And i stretch it out into 3 meals and only around $10 (i don't remember how much i paid). So far, everything is really good.

I ate carne asada burrito and flushed down with a fountain drink . The burrito weighed alot.The asada is bland .the beans taste good but no signature taste. The rice is good. The manzanita Sol taste great.place is clean. . The waitress brought me my food to my table, I wished they offered me salsa. I know food trucks that make better food . Not bad . I'll eat here again . Just not the asada. I should have went to Los Jarritos

I recently discovered this place and have not tried everything but I can say that they're carne asada mulitas are delicious. They are not skimpy with the meat and it has guacamole and Pico de Gallo inside. I will be back to try a breakfast burrito soon. The inside is always very clean and they are open 24 hours.

Casual restaurant where you place you order at the counter and it's brought to your table when ready. I thought the food was good. Had green Chilaquiles with eggs, rice and beans. Food was tasty, although the rice was not warm. Coffee was on the weak side. Plenty of tables and a salsa bar available for customers. I'd go back.

This place has been here for ever and is about the only thing open late at night. The burritos are big & meaty the tacos are pretty good too.The fish tacos are better grilled then fried. Before Covid 19, the salsa bar was great.

Ordered through UberEats, no problems there . I ordered the Chile verde fries and they were really watery, idk why. Also they were missing beans. Plus side they weren’t stingy with other ingredients and even fried my fries a bit longer per request.

The food here is good and usually doesn’t disappoint. But the workers need to work on their attitude. Everytime I walk in they’re laughing and talking with each other and stuff but the moment they lay eyes on a customer that smile wipes right off and suddenly they all looked burdened. And as soon as your food is done they drop it at the counter and call out your order and walk away and get back to chatting. Its cool to be happy working but dont get an attitude when you have to do your job.

Not great but not bad either. Would not go out of my way to come back again. Al pastor was dry. Fish burritos were not bad. Cabeza was the highlight of the meal. Flan was disappointing and spongy.

Used to go all the time but food has gone downhill so its been limited on going...but gave it another try because not many things open 24 hrs a day...and noppppeee will be my lasttt time there. Ordered potato tacos and got potato TAQUITOS...plus hair in 2 of them...didnt even feel like checkin the 3rd one. Called to complain and she didnt sound like she cared...i told her id call a supervisor back in the morning instead. Sickkkk.

Food is okay here. The chicken is not good. Its a cheap low quality meat. Food is prepared fast and its nice and hot. Great service. Very inexpensive food.

Update 9/29/22: Came through the drive thru at about 11:30pm... Ordered carne asada fries, combo #14, and a flying saucer with carne asada. What I got passed off to me as a flying saucer looked suspiciously like a taco salad, as the tortilla was fried in a bowl shape (not flattened like it's meant to be) and the ingredients weren't as plentiful as when it is on a flat crust. Tried to call restaurant but no one would answer the phone... Will call a supervisor in the morning to discuss this order item... It's not like they are swamped at this time of night... We were the only ones there at that time... Am changing my 5 stars down to a 2, until my concerns are addressed. Otherwise I love this place!

The food was good, but had Uber Delivery n bag was not tied so Uber Driver can easily have access to food not very hygienic is it? I called to provide me feedback n whomever answered was defensive we always make a knot- hmm if I'm calling n telling her then not always. In addition, I suggested some kind of sticker to confirm it's sealed n again we don't have stickers, um obviously duh that's why it's a suggestion. My humble opinion to owner train those who answer phone calls on customer service skills as your business can be far more successful with a pleasant experience. Positive note- presentation of food on containers was nice ,however I get grossed out knowing food was not sealed in bag n for that reason I won't order or eat here, as unfortunately I did not eat my food. Another the person who answered phone then also asks was anything wrong with your food? Oh well - I just told her, unknown if something wrong as I do not know for certainty if my food was looked into by Uber driver who also, to mention car was not clean inside or out, and that in itself brings on more grossness or began my entire ordeal. 3 suggestions just tie a knot on bag, invest on restaurant stickers, and work on training your staff on customer service skills.

Ordered a Cali Burrito Combo that says it comes with a drink. I get to the window and tell them what I want to drink. They said a drink doesn't come with combos anymore. So uh update your menu then duh.... Anyways they charge me 12 bucks for the food what a rip off and didn't even ask if I wanted to add the drink. They lost my business.

I asked if they had a breakfast burrito with sausage and they said they did so I ordered it. I don't know if they gave me the wrong burrito but the one I got was all beans and cheese. They gave me a hard time when I tried to take it back but I eventually got my money back.

I went to Castanedas at Garey and Foothill at 6:05am May 27 When I got to the drive through speaker. The guy came on and said we are on Break. I asked for how long, and he said 30 minutes. So I went to Jack in the Box across the street. That break cost them my $50. I wonder if the owners or managers know they are doing this? I'm sure they must have had an hours Long rush between Midnight and 6am. I Guess that's the end of this place for me.

We regularly feasted on the various tacos from Castaneda's Mexican Food. That is until one of our daughters gave us an unusually stern warning and told us to stop eating there as people have found "stuff" in their food. We hadn't had any issues with our food the several years we had eaten there. I have noticed slow service going through the drive through. On a side note, I don't like the idea of not being able to see the workers making the food. Especially with the pandemic, I want to make sure that our food is being properly prepared. And speaking of the pandemic, we have been careful of fast food places, and have been only to a select few places. Which basically means, we hadn't been to Castaneda's in over a year. With the lock down being essentially over, my wife stopped by last week and came back with chicken tacos. She was in and out of the drive-thru in minutes. They were absolutely delicious! I asked my wife where she got them from and see said Castaneda's. I was like, is that a new place? She said no, it's the place we used to go to. I was shocked as the meat was well seasoned (appeared to be almost ground chicken), thinly sliced lettuce, cheddar cheese, tomatoes and crunchy shells. These things were good. Well, those tacos made such an impression on me that I was craving those same tacos again one week later. My encounter wasn't so swift as my wife's going through the drive-thru. I was in the drive through for about 25 minutes. It didn't appear that they were busy either as i couldn't see anyone inside. I get home and I'm starving. Started tearing into one of the tacos and what do I bite into, three pieces of jagged chicken bones. Yes, three separate pieces that could have easily broke a tooth had I not been careful chewing. The meat was tasteless and was chunked. This was definitely not the same taco meat I had one week earlier. My wife even commented that the tacos were horrible and didn't have any type of seasoning. The place is not cheap, and with my worse nightmare coming true with sharp chicken bone fragments in the meat, I will NOT be returning. Sadly, I believe in patronizing our local businesses, but not Castaneda's who don't appear to have any quality control over their menu items.

Don't go if you're on your way to work in the morning. Not, repeat NOT 24 hours. Several mornings no one is there . Sometimes, if you wait long enough a woman will come on drive through speaker and inform you she is on break. One can only imagine how busy it is at 5 am.

My wife and I went to eat here and I had the Green Chilaquiles plate with beand, rice and lettuce and my wife had the enchilada/taco plate. This is probably the worst Mexican food I have tasted. The rice has been reheated plenty of times, the taco and enchilada were also just reheated and cold. The best thing about the visit was the coffee. Will not be returning to this place.

Ordered carne asada torta $13. Came out fast. I parked to have a bite and continue on my journey. When I unwrapped the torta out of the foil it was already cut in half and the halves were wrapped in thin white paper. There were also 4 ttiny salsa containers which I didn’t use. When I held up a half sandwich I felt the bottom bread was already getting the paper soggy. I took a bite and chopped meat, lettuce and tomato started spilling out of the sandwich and into my chest and lap. I then placed the aluminum foil on my lap to catch more of the food as I took a second bite. I couldn’t eat anymore. The meat was boiled beef and not carne asada. (See photos attached) Meat had no seasoning taste whatsoever. There was no guacamole in the sandwich either, as advertised. Perhaps that would’ve helped keep the chopped fillings in place and not crumble out after every bite. I had never had a bad torta before. This is the first time. The ingredients are not of good quality. I was greatly disappointment as it was my only meal of the day.

I called because the 5 rolled taquitos were not cooked. They were RAW... and she hung up on me. I threw it all in the trash Major disappointment. And what great customer service instead of asking to replace it. Or a refund 🙄 she hung up on me... yeah really nice. Never again There prices went up too. I give them till the end of the year with the poor quality and horrible customer service! Yuck!

The beans were not cooked all the way so texture was like having stones in a burrito, the flavor of the meat was off and the outside shell was not even deep fried properly. Prior to going there I was super hungry, had a long day/night but a couple bites into this nasty thing I lost all my appetite. Definitely stay clear of this place.

I was so disappointed! I had bought shredded beef tacos about two weeks ago. A man was in the kitchen . They were great! Then I went back today because I remembered those great tacos. This time it was a woman in the kitchen. I was sold these shredded beef tacos that were like eating wood sticks. The meat must have been yesterday's. The shells were just as hard. I mean super old and hard. I could not finish eating them . $5.99 each. How dare them sells these 3rd rated tacos. They were splinter wood texture. What a waste of money!!! I could have choked!!!

I was so disappointed! I had bought shredded beef tacos about two weeks ago. A man was in the kitchen . They were great! Then I went back today because I remembered those great tacos. This time it was a woman in the kitchen. I was sold these shredded beef tacos that were like eating wood sticks. The meat must have been yesterday's. The shells were just as hard.
