Newly renovated and under new management, it's now known as McDuff's Pub! It has some seriously delicious food, and the staff is super friendly and helpful! Drink prices are slightly higher than they were at McDuff's Tavern, but the pub is using an app called Spot On, where you can earn points through the app for every visit you make to the bar. Then, those points can be used for discounts on appetizers, drinks, and even pub-branded t-shirts!

ive been to mcduffs on several occsions (mostly when im visiting family in buffalo a few times a year) and i make sure to always stop on my way up. food comes out quick, has always been hot and the draft selection is plentiful. for the price, quality & service, you can't skip mcduffs in potsdam. ps. they serve very cold beers (thankfully)

I’m in town visiting my daughter. We needed a place to go we were beat. We thought… hey duffs is right around the corner let’s stop there. Service… impeccable. Food…. Spectacular. If I could give 10 stars I would. 10/10 experience and I will be returning.

My father and I went to the pub around lunch time. The place was very quiet. Since the place was quiet, our server, Jaedyn was able to take our order near immediately after sitting down. I had ordered boneless wings with Guinness BBQ sauce, they were absolutely amazing. Overall I had a great experience and would definitely recommend this place to anyone who’s in the area

While living in Potsdam for the summer, I've checked out McDuff's a few times - for Stanley Cup hockey and weekly Wing Night. I've enjoyed every visit and can recommend them to you! A very clean and friendly village tavern overall. I can now expect cheery and friendly service from the bar, especially Brittany. The wings are very good and I have liked every sauce I have had. Coming from Western NY, I am a bit of a wing snob, and I have not been disappointed. The homemade blue cheese is tasty. They tend to serve it room temp, which I am not a fan of, but it isn't necessarily bad. Stop in and have some beer and wings! No better combination.

I really enjoyed trivia night, which happens thursdays at 7:00pm. I would recommend getting there early for trivia, though, as I arrived 15 minutes early and there was only one table left. I ordered the pickle chips and they were quite good! I got a cocktail and it was tasty, and the servers/bartenders were very nice. Looking forward to going again.

I walked in and immediately loved the environment. Their winter menu is on the smaller side, but their Signature Pizza made up for it. The spicy maple syrup on top of a freshly sliced pepperoni pizza was to die for. The Caesar Salad was okay. The dressing was a little heavy on the anchovy, though. Maeve was an absolute joy to interact with. All around a wonderful experience!

The kitchen is open again and the best poutine in Potsdam can be had for $10.79! Friday happy hour is the place to be for a good cold drink from Elijah, hot meal, and a round or three of darts with good friends. The college crowd starts drifting in around 9, just as the kitchen closes, so plan accordingly.

I went to visit my bf in NY, we went down twice, once for St. Patricks Day night fun. Which let me tell you was an awesome time. Such fun atmosphere and the locals are friendly looking to have a good time. Staff is super friendly and know how to make a drink. There was live music that night. Lots of fun. The second visit, the place was much quieter, staff still on point, we tried the bangers and mash, we had not had this dish before, it was delicious, we were both happy and full when we left.

I go to a lot of beer bars and the selection in this "hole in the wall" is amazing. I can't find this good of a selection is a substantially​ larger market. The food, is amazing to boot.

I love coming here! The only complaint was that the fridges were not keeping the drinks cool enough. Which usually isn't an issue.

McDuff's has a solid selection of beer, friendly bartenders and solid bar food. Fish and chips, macaroni grilled cheese and next door to a place that sells falafels when you are in the middle of nowhere. I appreciate their mug night and other specials they have throughout the week. A fun welcoming place with lots of room for people, and the large jukebox selection is an awesome bonus!

The food here is really good! Fresh ingredients and generous portions, all served by friendly servers.

One of my favorite spots to visit while I was a student at Clarkson. Always a good selection of bottled beers and great draft prices are more than reasonable. The staff can be incredibly fun, but was very cliquey. Spent many a Thursday dancing with friends and having a killer time. Memories that will be fondly missed.

Please wash your beer taps! The beers are constantly flat and we've sent more than one pint back for tasting off. Other than that, music is good, food is pretty solid pub food.

Continuing my journey through Potsdam eateries after watching Clarkson Women’s hockey, stopped at McDuff’s for the first time. Place is kind of oddly laid out. Didn’t really have the cozy Irish pub vibe. More sports bar. Waitress seemed to on her own with a decent sized crowd which slowed service some. The Buffalo Chicken Poutine app was huge and had a very unique flavor. It had a bit of a kick to it, so if you don’t like hot (spicy) food you may want to pass on this one. I enjoyed my signature Reuben, however the fries weren’t good. Kind of soggy. Grease might need to be changed. They have a few televisions on the wall with various sporting events on and a couple of electric dart boards.

Never cared for this place but it’s where everyone went. It’s gotten slightly better in the last few years, not sure if management changed or what but they’re bar staff used to be horrific to the point of dangerous. They used to employ college girls, a group of sorority chicks in particular ages 18-21+ that would get incredibly sloppy-drunk. Over serving, over charging, wrong orders at the bar then your usual college crowd problems. One of their bouncers loved to use what little authority he had any chance he got. He claimed one of my buddies who was 22 was using an ID that wasn’t his (picture was him aged 16 so 6 yrs younger) and it was Halloween so he was dressed as something can’t remember but my buddy argued a little nothing aggressive and answered all the questions including zodiac symbol- idk mine even- and bouncer denied entry we said ok but wouldn’t give buddy ID back buddy tried grabbing it, not fast or aggressively mins you and this dude grabbed buddy shoulders leans back and full force head butts my buddy split his eyebrow open and bloody nose. Wish we Videod encounter def would’ve taken action. Funny thing is the same bouncer we bought shots the night before and he sold us a nickel bag! Haven’t seen him in 4-5 years and staff seem like actual staff nowadays. Guessing the boozehound owner or manager whoever the guy was that got smashed w his staff- bet he’s not around hence the cleanup.

It's a dive bar with passable bar food, a pool table, darts, and good seating options. On the weekends they often open up the basement where there is another bar, two stripper poles, a DJ booth, and a large dance floor. Sometimes the floor in the basement is leaking, the bathrooms are small and smelly, and the entire place is pretty sticky.

Decided to give them a try and picked up some wings to go...they were so horrid we had to toss them in the garbage! I had 1 and my husband had 2. They Smelled bad and tasted worse. Waste of money.

Just left: food was not good, came out cold, service was very slow (understaffed). Potsdam has much better options than this.

I had high hopes for this place. Sadly, the food was cold and the waitstaff could not be bothered with you.

I'm guessing the positive reviews are from students or people with no taste buds. One word DISGUSTING! First time was bad but decided to try it again and somehow it was worse. Fish grossly overcooked and tarter sauce went bad. I wish I had taken pictures of the chicken wings- FULL of grease on the bottom of the basket.

Absolutely awful experience start to finish. Waitress looked high out of her mind and couldn't get the order right, meals came out as appetizers, burgers were undercooked (essentially raw when ordered well done, pic for reference), the beer cheese that came with the pretzel looked like baby vomit and tasted even worse, all that and a tab over $100 with no compensation for all the screw-ups. Never coming back here, don't let the good reviews fool you!!
