I was able to partake in a soft opening for lunch and was extremely pleased. Had an excellent meal and atmosphere. I had the ahi tuna for appetizer and steak salad for my main course. Pics are below. I’m so glad they are open for lunch now and would highly recommend!

We went for dinner with two other couples. The food and service were fabulous! Before we arrived my daughter said she wanted to join, and the restaurant was very cool to allow us to add her to the reservation. At the end of the meal, someone mentioned a birthday at our table and the sweet server brought out a “birthday drink.” I had the filet, my friend had the pasta. Idk what the others ate but everyone raved about their dish. Espresso martini was 10/10!

Atmosphere and Brunch was incredible. We had the fried green tomato BLT, eggs Benedict with pimento cheese and FGT and bottle service. We will be back. Michelle was wonderful.

We absolutely loved everything about our experience at 243 South! The food, the atmosphere, the vibes — all perfect. We were celebrating Galentines, and our waitress was AMAZING and on board with us every step of the way. She made our night so fun, special, and memorable! Can’t wait to come back!

My mom booked the entire restaurant for my surprise birthday party last week. I cannot say enough great things. They decorated beautifully, the service was fantastic, and all of the food was amazing. The staff went way out of their way to make sure it was all perfect. All of our guests had the best time! Thank you to all of the staff! It was a memory I will cherish forever.

Cannot say enough about the atmosphere!! This is a posh big city restaurant close to home. The food was excellent the mixed drinks should keep you coming back. Everything was perfectly balanced. Put this at the top of your lists for date night!! It is worth noting that this restaurant offers nearly all of their wines by the glass…great way to try wines without committing to a whole bottle.

I’ve visited twice, and both times were exceptional. The first visit I ordered the pimento cheese for an appetizer and the crab claws. Both were 10/10. My husband ordered the burger both visits, I think this is by far one of the best menu items. The pickles and pimento cheese make this stand apart from others. Our second visit I ordered the filet over a bed of risotto, it was also 10/10! I’m so pleased Prattville finally has a date night destination.

We really enjoyed our date night dinner here. We had to wait a few minutes for our reservation but they were working hard to accommodate our party of 6. I felt like the room was a little cramped but we weren’t right on top of anyone other than the hostess stand. The remodel was beautiful. Very tastefully decorated. Food was delicious. My risotto was a little stiff but good flavor. My filet was perfect. I don’t even usually like filet. The sweet potato fries with goat cheese were unbelievably delicious!!! Creme brûlée was yummy and a perfect portion after a large meal. There were no labeled gluten free options in the menu. My old fashioned was spot on. Hubby absolutely loved the wedge salad. so, so good! me and my fiancé went here day after valentines. we got the ahi tuna and potato skins for desert, love note and whiskey sour for drinks, and the filet mignon and blackened salmon for entrees. absolutely delicious. our waitress was very kind and attentive. they had roses to give out afterward for valentines. 10/10 recommend. we will for sure be back. 🤗

Our first visit here and yeah, they stumbled a couple of times, but you know what...they owned the mis-steps and worked to correct things. This, in and of itself, set them apart from establishments that offer only excuses. Many have mentioned the noise level, do not expect an intimate conversation setting, this was "sports bar" loud and difficult to carry on a conversation across the table. Now, the food and service; top notch. The pace of the meal was perfect and we felt unhurried. Appetizer arrived, then removed. Entrees arrived and we were adequately checked in on, not hovered over. Michelle, our waitress was pleasant and offered great suggestions. Now, knowing all of this, would I go back? Absolutely. Great restaurant in a safe, inviting small town, downtown

Ambiance was amazing but the food was superb! Everything my party ordered was good. And let me just say, the fries are the best I’ve ever eaten. From charcuterie boards, Crab claws, burgers, salads, salmon, (was top tier) etc, options are plentiful. Right in the center of downtown Prattville. I’d love to gate keep this restaurant, but I couldn’t be selfish. The staff was professional, accommodating, and welcoming.

We finally dined at this restaurant and hated we didn't come sooner! Each and every one of the staff that we encountered were super friendly and helpful! The food was down right amazing especially the Chicken Piccatta! We had the fried green tomatoes for the appetizer and it probably was the best ones we've ever had! On a recent visit to Alabama, had a great dinner at 243 South. Enjoyed the Chicken Piccata. First time experiencing Mushroom/Truffle Soup, which was very good. Our Server, Michelle, was very attentive. Can't wait to visit again.

Tried out this restaurant to celebrate with my partner on our new baby and have a mini gender reveal just for us two. Not only was the restaurant atmosphere just what I'd hoped, the food was DELICIOUS! They even helped us with the reveal with a creative dessert to finish the meal off. The only thing we didn't enjoy were how close we were to the other people dining (it's kind of a small space). Nonetheless, we had an amazing time. Definitely helped us create a precious memory!

The best fried green tomatoes we’ve ever had. My husband got the Jerk Rice Bowl and I got a shrimp pasta, and we shared the delicious brownie dessert. Great value.

During my visit to your establishment on a Sunday a month ago, I was highly satisfied with the overall experience, encompassing both the ambiance and the culinary offerings. The chicken and waffle dish I chose was particularly noteworthy, featuring a perfectly prepared chicken breast and not wings or tenders like most establishments. Furthermore, the server provided exceptional service, demonstrating patience, friendliness, and comprehensive menu knowledge. While I did not obtain her name, I recall her as a young, light-skinned woman with her hair in a bun. I love having a fine dining option in Prattville, especially the historic area. The location is perfect for an after dinner walk. The cocktails and wine were amazing. The French onion soup was delicious. The filet was underseasoned and not what I was expecting. The risotto lacked the creamy consistency that I love. The atmosphere was a little confusing. The space is small, so to have a bar with televisions while also trying to create an upscale feeling is a little hard. We sat at a 2 top table that was only 3 inches from the next 2 tops, so when another couple sat next to us, it felt like we were dining together. They ended up asking to move to another location. The lighting was also extremely dim so many people were pulling their phones out to see the menu and sometimes their food. The service was good but a little slow. They were really busy when we went so I think that had a lot to do with it. Overall, I think this is a cute place for special dinners. I think things will get better as they get settled into the new menu.

The dessert, on the other hand, was a showstopper. Not only was it decadently delicious, but the presentation was truly stunning, making it a feast for both the eyes and the palate. While the frozen fries were a minor disappointment, the overall experience was exceptional. With its combination of outstanding service, flavorful dishes, and a warm, elegant atmosphere, this restaurant is one we’ll gladly return to. Next time, I’ll explore a different side dish to complement the impressive entrees.

Lovely establishment, great addition to the area. A few critiques I’d like to add… Although very flavorful, the ribeye was too fatty and lacked a good crust. The bread pudding should have also been served warm. Both of our desserts arrived at room temperature. Aside from those two issues, we enjoyed our dinner.

This could easily be a five star review if it wasn't for the price. This is not a low or midrange restaurant.

Delicious food, polite staff, beautiful environment… but not a quiet spot for a date night. It’s a small room packed with so many people that gets extremely loud very quickly. I couldn’t hear myself think. No military discounts.

My hubby and I went here for a date night, and it was such a nice place. I don't drink alcohol, and they made me the cutest mocktail to start. We tried the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. They were cut a bit thick but tasted great. My hubby had the shrimp, and I had the salmon. They both were good portions. He said he would have liked a little more flavor in his dish, but overall, it was okay. I got the risotto and spinach with the salmon, which was all seasoned well. We finished by sharing an apple pie ala mode, which I'll be going back for! I took the last of it by sliding the plate to my side and telling my hubby, “I'll eat the rest.” 😂😂 No photos since we just enjoyed one another with no phones on our date, but I say go and try it for yourself so you can see all the restaurant offers 🌺✨🌱 Our server Victoria was super sweet and was a great help!

Really nice restaurant in downtown Prattville, the service and food were very good. The cost was reasonable for the food, and we found the portion sizes to be just right. The Ahi Tuna and Chicken Piccata were really nice. My largest complaint was the noisy level from the bar and the lack of privacy due to the tables being so close to each other. I think the owners could help themselves out by removing a table or two on the walls, and creating some space between the customers. I was able to rub elbows all night with the person on my right because our table was right next to theirs with no space between them, and sitting on the wall side was uncomfortable to get in and out of due to how close the table on our left was, literally both tables so close that you couldn't help but get inside the personal space of the other patrons when you slipped through to the bench seating..

What a fun spot in the heart of Prattville! We went tonight and really enjoyed our evening. The ambience is special and the space feels upscale. I am very picky with my drinks, and the house margarita is fantastic. I’d even go as far to say it is the best I’ve ever had at a restaurant! The jalapeño ranch dressing is perfect. Kudos. We split the burger, and the meat was cooked perfectly and very flavorful. However, the burger needed more sauce as it was dry. Like previous comments stated, the fries are just not good. The risotto needed more cream for a silkier texture. Overall, we loved our experience and will be back to try again!

Have been twice now and the food has been absolutely delicious both times! It’s a cozy atmosphere but we were sat in a corner booth area and getting in and out of the restaurant was difficult due to the amount of people. The tables and chairs were so close together that when we were sat by the hostess and when we left we have to squeeze through people and find another way out because everyone was so close together, so that was uncomfortable. Our waitress was a little slow on this second visit and we sat unattended for a while before we were able to order our food. Also when we came in, the hostess asked so many questions and got information from me that we were afraid we were going to be told there was a wait when there were so many open tables. If she had just let us know that she was going to get some info and then get us seated we wouldn’t have felt hesitant at the door. Instead of asking if we had a reservation she just asked for a name and then followed up with “oh, do you not have a reservation?” Just felt it could’ve been handled differently. Overall, we will definitely be back for burger night but we agreed maybe sitting at the bar would be more comfortable for us next time.

My husband and I went there last evening. The place is very small, However, it is so chic inside. It's very aesthetically pleasing and very cozy. Our waitress was so very knowledge of everything on the menu and she was such a great help! We ordered the fried green tomatoes and they were the best I've ever had! I ordered the hamburger my husband ordered the steak. My burger was a little too salty from my taste, but it was still tasty. Their fries are thick cut And they were delicious dunked in their homemade jalapeño ranch dressing. My husband said his steak was good, but the cut of meat could've been a little bit better for the price. I also ordered the espresso martini. It was divine! I would suggest that you make reservations because the place is so small. They do have specials each week and there is a bar. We would definitely go back!

Food and service are good. Just don't accidentally walk in during a private event. You'll feel like an unwelcomed, second-class citizen.

The redecoration is beautiful. I am not a fan of communal seating at an upscale intimate restaurant, however. Tables for two should be just that. I’d rather not seat elbow to elbow with another couple. My cocktail was wonderful. My filet was delicious (at $60 it should be), but the risotto was a tasteless cold blob and the mixed vegetables over cooked and cold. Christmas party diners packed the house and the volume was LOUD. Do people actually want 2 big screen TVs in a fine dining establishment? I will return, but maybe they should have sacrificed the oversized bar in the redesign to accommodate better seating for intimate dinners.

That atmosphere and service was ok but the food was not we got what was supposed to be a ribeye which was 25% fat and definitely a sirloin with 5/7 6 extra thin extra crispy asparagus. We also got the chicken piccata and the noodles were gummy. For the price I would have thought it would have been some pretty decent food but it wasn’t.

So, the ribeye was “good” but for $45, it was very thin and not cooked correctly when we asked for medium. The sides were flavorless. My wife ordered the salmon, which had a proper cook and seasonings. However, the risotto and broccolini that came with it, were undercooked and the broccolini, was raw. Our waitresses asked it everything was ok we mentioned the above issues. She acted shocked, but according to other reviews, this is normal. We tipped accordingly but would not recommend.

Did not have a great experience here. The decor and atmosphere was good. Service was ok, ask for water with lemon and only got water, that had a taste to it. The fried green tomatoes were good but not enough portion for the price. The chicken I had was very bland, no flavor, taste like fried in old grease. The burger was good except for the brioche bun, texture was dry and stale, definitely not fresh. Our waitress was good, only thing that made the experience worthwhile.

Without a doubt our server was under the influence of something. We went there tuesday night and it was the worst service I’ve ever experienced. She never brought out the crab claw appetizers, couldn’t remember the names of the wine for the wine flight, brought out a salad with a knife instead of a fork, took our order then got it all confused and had to come back to try and get the order again and still brought it out wrong. When I took a bathroom break I could hear the servers talking about taking xanax… Honestly for the price you pay for dinner, you’re better off going to Longhorn. I’ve been here once before and had a great time with my husband, but we will not be coming back after this experience and highly do not recommend.

The restaurant has a cool atmosphere, and the theming is well done, creating an appealing vibe and space. However, even with a reservation, we were surprised to be seated at a communal table, which took away from the experience we were expecting. The noise level was very high, and with nothing in place to absorb sound, it was difficult to hold a conversation as the noise seemed to echo throughout the room. The food was disappointing. The menu was limited, and the dishes we ordered felt overpriced for the quality, which was fairly mediocre. We witnessed the table behind us send several rounds of food back to be remade and their wedge salad was returned as I would have expected, my salad did not look like theirs, I should have returned mine as well. Our cocktails were poorly balanced and watered down quickly due to an excessive amount of ice. On the bright side, the staff was friendly and attentive, which we appreciated. Still, the overall experience did not justify the price, and we would not consider it a good value for the money. While the concept is appealing, we likely would not return.

While the food itself was ok, the service was terrible, ruining any chance of a good evening. A party of three, we ordered drinks that didn’t arrive for nearly fifteen minutes. The appetizer showed up at the end of our meal, and the staff apologized for forgetting to bring it. The entrees were very overpriced. The ribeye steak was supposed to come with reduction sauce, and it was sadly forgotten. The soup didn’t come with a spoon. The menu says to ask the server for a list of the draft beer, but the waitress said there was no draft beer list. Instead, she named off a few beers and forgot the rest. Tables are too close together, so servers are forced to squeeze between guests. I had to ask multiple times to have my water refilled, something that should be done without asking. I can appreciate the attempt at something upscale in downtown Prattville; however, this restaurant clearly missed the mark. With better service, seating arrangement, and lower prices, I could see this restaurant being worthwhile. Unfortunately, it’s just another run-of-the-mill attempt at a classy experience.

Food and service is terrible

It is very upscale for downtown Prattville, $60 for a steak is way overpriced if you want a good steak in Prattville though, and that was just for the steak. I thought I would give the place a go since I never been there. Now there wasn’t a price on the menu for the steak I admit, though I expected it to be about the same price as the other entries, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. A heads up would have been nice. It wasn’t a bad steak, but I can get steak just as good for half the price around here. After a drink, an appetizer, and the steak it came up to almost $100. That was just for me. The staff was nice, but that’s the best I can say.

Food was good extremely high priced after all its. Not vegas, but the thing that through me was paying 4 for a glass of soda water, actually it irritated me as we had drinks, ad paid 75 for our meal with a glass of soda water they charged that because it was a carbonated drink it was literally water .

Went Saturday morning as a party of 4. We immediately ordered our food and drinks. Waited for our food for 30 minutes. I asked the waitress if my mimosa would be coming out soon and she said it’d take 7 more minutes. 7 minutes to pour OJ and champagne in a glass?? Never got the drink and waited another 30 minutes for our food before we gave up and left. Almost everyone that came in after us had received their drinks and food. If I could’ve gotten my drink without watching other people get theirs I might’ve waited a little longer to see if the food was any good! I also would not recommend anyone to bring their young kids here.

I tried to make a reservation here and showed up to a sign on the door saying “closed for renovation” with no warning or anything. The day before Valentine’s Day. How unprofessional. Highly upset, and my time was wasted.
