Opiniones de The Hat Rancho Cucamonga
A good ol fashion no nonsense pastrami sandwich. Amazing! The meat is shredded to perfection on a delicious roll bread. Get the pickles! The chili cheese ff are massive you can't see the bottom. I wish I took a picture before! Don't be silly just try this place.
Great place for burgers, fries, sandwiches and soft drinks. Specialties are their burgers, pastrami and chili fries. There's no "value" menu, but the quality and taste makes it worth the price.
Surprised there's one in rancho! I also thought it was neat there's a drive through. Got the steak sandwich and pastrami chili cheese fries. I used to get the fries all the time back in high school and still just as good as I remember! Steak sandwich was okay to me, I think I'd try the pastrami sandwich next time.
They're famous for their pastrami dip sandwiches , which are great but I really like the pastrami burger. The chili cheese fries are massive, great for sharing.
First time going here - from California but just had never been. I had a pastrami sandwich which I wasn’t able to eat but half - a small fry is good enough to split between 2-3 people - I will say the fries lacked salt for my tasting. But this place was steady with business. We had no issue with parking so that’s a plus ! I’d definitely go back again - $32 for 2 people to eat with a drink !!! Worth the try guys
My husband and I haven't been to this place in a few months. The food was very hot and tasty on this visit. We shared a pastrami and chili cheese fries.
I stopped by The Hat for the pastrami sandwich with xtra pickle, of course! It was perfect! I hadn't been to one in quite while. Sometimes you forget how good it can be.
We love to come back Late night Yum yum Chili cheese fries Burgers Hit Beef sandwich Oh yeah Pastrami Don't touch the machine when you fill your Coke.
Always great food and well worth your money. If you get the pastrami fries it's huge you can share with 3-4 people
I love this place, we have been coming to the hat for many many years and we are never disappointed hey service is fast and friendly, we always get the pastrami dip and the pastrami chili cheese fries, I also get the pastrami burger(fantastic) so if you would like to have the best pastrami in the inland empire go to the hat, eat local, buy local, spend local
If you want big portions of food then this is the place for you. The chili cheese pastrami fries were a little bit more expensive than at other places but they were also the biggest ones I’ve ever had. The size of the pastrami fries is so large that it can easily be shared by two or three people. I also didn’t find them on the menu, I had to ask if they add pastrami to the chili cheese fries. The hamburgers are also pretty thick and taste really good too.
The service was great, the food was good. They hook it up really good, god dang 😁. In the end of the day, if you are going to walk in here thinking this is Katz Deli in NYC (not worth it btw) or Lengers in Los Angeles, you will be disappointed. The food is meant to be cheap, trashy and delicious at the same time. It's not fancy. It's when you got the munchies 😏. It's an acquired taste. I don't know how to explain it more. I will say this, it fed the whole family for a good price which I appreciate and they deserve the business, they are busy for good reason. Update: I finally had their tuna melt. God damn. Honestly the best tuna melt I have had outside my house, I don't usually get a tuna melt at any resteraunt. The sandwhich was perfection. You will definetly hit your omega 3 levels eating it 😂 Man I just love this place. I really do. The wet fries were so good too.
I'm new into town and I saw this sandwich shop on Google maps so I went to check them out The sandwich was good they give you a lot of meat and it's was different than what I'm used to eating but overall it was a good sandwich. Also, I purchased a small order of fries which I didn't care for, they were different as well. The fries were bland didn't have any salt or pepper
Get the chili cheese pastrami fries. They are amazing you will not regret it. Also dont forget to take a bite of some yellow peppers, they are free and super tasty there. Overall best pastrami place in california
Moved to California 8 months ago and I finally tried a pastrami burger at The Hat. So delicious! The beef patty was perfection. It was a little crisp on the edges just like it should be. The pastrami was heavenly. The sandwich was so big I almost had to unhinged my jaws to eat it. The sauce finished it off. I will definitely be back.
I hadn't had a pastrami sandwich in years and what better place to remember what missed than the world famous Hat. It was everything I remembered and even better. The pastrami dip was amazing. Thanks for not disappointing.
The pastrami is great! Fries are huge! You can't go wrong here. The burgers are supposed to be really good too but I can't stop eating the pastrami!
If your a pastrami guy like me and your in LA you have to go to the hat.. it's a toss up between Johnny pastrami and thr hat.. they are both good.. I've eaten pastrami all over the world and this is some of the best.. My advice go around the side, wait until you see one of the workers bring out the steaming pot of pastrami, tip them $5 and just have them pile that in a plate! Thank me later
Update: 11/2024 This has become my preferred location. The food has consistently been better than my first visit 3 years ago, and I have raised my rating accordingly. 11/2021 While our Pastrami Dip and Roast Beef sandwiches today were a step down from the original Alhambra location's (perhaps it was an off day), the facility is the nicest we've seen in the chain. Service was fast and this location has nice toilets and a drive-thru (unlike many of their stores). We live in Vegas and this is a convenient stop on the way home, we will surely return.
The Hat is always great! Hands down the best pastrami sandwich I've ever had. The fries are always fresh. O couldn't tell you how the rest of the food is because innthe 20+ years I have come here I have never ordered anything else. Hahaha.
Famous for PASTRAMI. try if you like it. Have other items. Great for family. Public bathrooms. Casual. Outside seating also. The Hat is a Southern California fast-food restaurant chain specializing in pastrami dip sandwiches. This eatery, once local only to the San Gabriel Valley, has been offering its "World Famous Pastrami" to Southern California residents since 1951. Must try the chilli cheese fries.
The hat. Got it going on. I drove down from Culver City California I was invited to the hat. Very impressed, the food is fresh, customer service is excellent, I'll be back thank you
HUGE servings make up for the higher than expected prices. Very clean fast food restaurant with enough space for the speed of service. Service was friendly enough and fast, so no complaints here!
We decided to Visit The Hat in Rancho Cucamonga. We split a huge Tuna sandwich and a gigantic portion of fries, but everybody around us were eating mostly pastrami sandwiches. WOW we only spend $18.00 because the serving size R huge, there was no way I was going 2 order my own when I can only eat half of one… so I brought the wife 2 help me out with my order and we had a great time, people of all ages and races, I was almost in Heaven. I recommend this place to anyone specially families. Until the next adventure.
After shopping at Victoria Gardens, we stopped by The Hat for a quick bite. My husband and I shared the chili cheese fries, and when he asked if they could layer the chili between the fries, they gladly accommodated his request. This made a huge difference, ensuring that most of the fries were evenly coated in chili. Hands down, these were the best chili cheese fries I’ve ever had!
I had a pastrami sandwich and it was LOADED very good quality tasty and lean meat. Not like other places I've been to and the meat is stringy and chewy. Had the Orange Bang (a clasic) with some onion rings, which they give you a healthy serving of. Definitely recommend this place and will be back soon.
My 1st time trying The Hat and OMG am I disappointed that I have never gave my mouth the pleasure of this amazing sandwich. You get a big portion of fresh sliced hot pastrami on a fresh sliced roll with mustard and pickles on it. My mouth did a happy dance the whole.time I was eating it. I also found out that they are opening a location in Las Vegas where I live. This place is so good I'm going to stand in line right now and it does not open till spring of 2026.
It’s been years, but I suddenly had the cravings for a pastrami dip and some chili cheese fries, so i headed out to The Hat. Ordered my food online for pickup and it was ready in less than half an hour. Ordering online was easy and user friendly. You pay at the store. Social distancing is enforced at the store with markers on the floor. Staffs are wearing mask and gloves. Sanitizers are also provided. Cravings very Satisfied!
Was craving their chili cheese fries! First time eating a pastrami sandwich, it was good! We ate in & were looking at the receipt number, while we should have been looking at the ticket number 😅. So we definitely waited extra but thankfully an employee seen us waiting forever & checked out ticket. Also there was no line to order on a Saturday night 👌
The food continues to be as amazing as always. One of the reasons why I contemplated giving this a 4 star rating is because of the noticeable decrease in portion size. They used to give so much more food, like the pastrami fries but not they put these little paper plates underneath the whole order of fries. Gives it the appearance that there's more than there actually is. The food is still so very delicious. Even though they give you less, the quality is still pristine. The establishment is very clean and I appreciate that the staff cleaned the tables after people get up and leave. The service is quick too.
Lives up to its tag line - the best pastrami you can find. Simple- just mustard, pickle and generous servings of meat. Delicious. They also have sandwiches, burgers and sides but pastrami is what they are known for. Service is fast. It’s a diner-style, fast food place that’s clean and bright. Service is excellent.
Such a great family place! Line can sometimes be long and it can be hard to find seating but that’s just a great testament to how amazing the food is! It’s worth the wait! Staff are super friendly and helpful!
It's been 13 years since I moved from the Inland Empire to Las Vegas. We were hoping that The Hat was going to open one here but that didn't happen. Last week my wife & I visit family & friends in the Inland Empire and we made a point of visiting The Hat. We were not disappointed. There is nothing that compares to The Hat in Las Vegas. The Hat has the Best Pastrami Sandwich, hands down!Ordered Pastrami & fries along with lemonade. We can hardly wait until our next visit.
My favorite pastrami chili cheese fries!! The Hat is always amazing. They have delicious pastrami whether you get it in a sandwich or fries. The pastrami sandwich is made with a ton of meat, mustard and pickles. The pastrami chili cheese fries are huge! They are loaded with chili, cheese and pastrami. Bring an appetite with you here. This is the only place I’ll order pastrami.
Always exceptional!! Chili cheese pastrami fries for the W. Grew up eating at the Hat late nights of bad decisions. Now i cant wait to rush for a bite of delicious nastalgia. The smell of the grill hits your nose and it excites you. You order and patiently wait, your number is called. 00!!!! Taste buds start going, grab some mustard and an Orange Bang!!!! Some napkins because you're not a savage but you're about to be. Thank you for thr great meal, great service, like always. I will continue to come back.
Chili cheese fries with pastrami on top could easily feed 4. Last time it was kind of bland but this time it was fantastic. Biting into that delicious combination makes you think of all the great things that SoCal has to offer
The Hat never disappoints. Pastrami Dip and Wet Fries are always my go to favorite. The French Dip and Chili Cheese Fries are always good choice too. Be prepared for a food coma.
I love the pastrami sandwiches and the chili cheese fries if you're ever in the area and you want a good pastrami sandwich this is the place to go.
What I LOVE most about the Hat is their inflation-resistant prices. The experience feels unique without feeling like your absorbing added overhead pricing. Adding the touchless soda dispenser is awesome. The onion rings have perfect breading. Overall 10 for 10 when everywhere feels overpriced.
Went to the hat on central couple weeks ago, then the rancho location last night. The rancho location was noticably tastier with regards to pastrami, not that central was bad, rancho just better... Always good any location we go to...
I took some friends there for the first time last week. And at 11:30 in the morning the seating was already all taken inside. Other than that, everybody that I brought enjoyed it thoroughly. I wish we had one of these in Central California.
My favorite place! I'm the biggest chili cheese tamale fan ever! I love walking in to this restaurant it's always full of life and the staff is always so kind and friendly. Especially jackie, so kind and professional and just a general pleasure. Anyways eat here it's great
Oh my goodness. I haven't had a Great Pastrami sandwich in years. Taste as good as 1980..can't wait to bring my grandkids here. This will be my new favorite place. The flavor of the sandwich was on point. Price very reasonable for the taste. A+ 10 on my list. Great atmosphere. The ladies were very polite and Welcoming. Thank you
The Hat’s famous pastrami dip sandwich doesn’t disappoint. It’s heaping full of pastrami and the bread rolls are always fresh and soft. We tried the chili cheese fries for the first time and like the regular fries you get a massive portion. You could easily make a whole meal out of the chili cheese fries fries. Highly recommend the Hat as an LA/SoCal staple.
The only downside to this place is that it gets so busy that it can be hard to find a spot to sit inside. They do have tables outside, though. Everything I have tried here has been delicious, from the burgers to the pastrami sandwiches. However, my absolute favorite is the chili cheese fries, no onions. They are so good that they keep me coming back for more! The cashiers are quick to take orders, and there is always someone in the lobby making sure the tables are being cleaned as guests leave.
The Hat is well known for their pastrami dip sandwiches but I go for their chili cheeseburger and the chili cheese fries. Their onion rings are also TOP tier as well. The chili cheese fries is a huge portion so definitely plan on sharing if you order those. This location is always packed because it’s right next to the mall but the wait typically isn’t too long. They have a good amount of seating both indoors and a couple tables outdoors as well if you want to enjoy some fresh air. 5 stars for delicious food and good service!
Whenever I’m in Southern California, The Hat is a must-stop for me. Their pastrami is truly world-famous for a reason—piled high, tender, and packed with flavor every single time. The portions are huge, easily shareable, and always satisfying. I especially love the pastrami dip sandwich—perfectly balanced with mustard and pickles—and their chili cheese fries loaded with pastrami are in a league of their own. It’s comfort food at its finest. The quality is consistent across locations, and the service is quick, even when the line is long. The Hat has been around for decades, and you can feel that legacy in every bite. It’s one of those classic SoCal spots that never disappoints. If you’re anywhere nearby, do yourself a favor and stop in—you’ll quickly understand why it’s a local icon.
I live in Vegas and spent last weekend in L.A. I had heard about The Hat and one was close by so I gave it a try. For a fast food type operation, their Pastrami was better than any I have ever had other than an authentic deli. Their Pastrami Dip sandwich was large and stacked thick with moist, thin sliced tender Pastrami, and the bread was tasty and soft, perfect for the sandwich. The price was $12,60, which for that quality and size is unbelieveable. They were very busy but the line moved fast and after ordering the wait was just a couple of minutes. The staff was super friendly and the kitchen and dining area was clean. And the best part is I found out they will be opening their first Vegas location this year. Can't wait.!!!
We stopped in for lunch and it was standing room only. We had to wait for someone to leave to get a table. But let me say IT WAS WORTH IT! We got the pastrami sandwich and fries......DELICIOUS. The price point was better than most restaurants we have eaten pastrami at. It's busy and loud so if you are looking fir quiet, eat in your car. Definitely a MUST if you are in town!
I’ve been to many Hat restaurants in different locations and have yet to be disappointed. This is probably one of the most consistent fast food chains out there. Always satisfied and always wanted to go back if I see one. The roast beef with au juice sauce is exceptional french fries and gravy. You can’t go wrong.
I've been coming here for about 10 years or so now and their prices have remained steady. The chili cheese fries are big and pretty much feed a family. The last time I went they were kinda cold, but overall their food maintains quality. The place is always packed every time I go. They do have wheelchair accessible tables, ramp and restrooms.
My friend told me about this place because they know I’m luv me a good pastrami sandwich. Let me tell you they did not disappoint. It’s a pretty solid sandwich. $12 for tasty, loaded to the brim pastrami sandwich. It’s constantly busy but the staff have a. System down so you don’t have to wait long. I would order chili cheese fries for the table, but add tomato and pickles to help balance all that chili.
Great food that tastes good. The pastrami sandwich is my favorite with some chili cheese fries. You can't go wrong with that. I recommend this place to everyone.

Food and service great. Portion and taste amazing. What an experience - wish I had a larger appetite.

Stopped in for lunch. Saw a few folks with the chilli cheese fries and had to try it! Its a big portion so I just had it and a small drink. It will definitely fill you up and scratch that cheesy fry and chili itch if your so inclined. Staff takes orders in a hurry so the line moves quickly, so be ready to order and pay. Tables were fairly clean but could use more frequent wiping during the lunch rush.
I absolutely love the hat's chili fries they are some of my favorites BUT there is one cardinal sin every single location commits that only the original gets correct. The cheese MUST be under the chili, it helps it melt better. But every other location insists on doing this so nobody gets 5 stars until this is corrected. (Yes I did request for cheese under the chili and it is understandable they forgot but it should not be the default)
It has been so long since I've gotten good and eaten from the hat. I was craving pastrami. So I ordered the pastrami dip and some chili cheese fries. I was debating on pastrami fries but decided not to get it ss I'm not a young man anymore and it would do more damage than satisfaction would bring I highly recommend the pastrami dip and the pastrami fries of you can handle it but if not their chili fries are delicious too. Don't forget to pack some yellow peppers too.
The food was great. We like for our french fries to be a bit more on the crispy side for that little crunch, but all in all, it's hard to beat The Hat with their pastrami dip sandwich.
I’ve come to the Hat before, and have to say it really depends on when you come. Today I came and got the usual Pastrami Dip with extra mustard., however today, it was darn good! Sometimes it’s dry, and not really wet. Today was not the case, it was really good! I personally don’t care for their fries, the onion rings are pretty good. If it was consistent, then I’d be here more often. Pictures below of how it should always be 😁
It was okay. Just like any average american food spot. I guess if you like the pastrami then this is the spot but for $40 for a sandwhich, 2 drinks, a tamale, onion rings and fries was a bit too much for me. I feel as if you can find better food, more options and cheaper elsewhere.
This was our first time here and it was good overall. The fry portions are insanely large and delicious, could easily be split between 2-3 people! The steak sandwich was not good at all. The steak was super thin and way overcooked. It was too tough to even eat 🙁. The pastrami was very good as were the cheeseburgers.
Went for the pastrami. I wasn't impressed by the pastrami. It tasted like pastrami but I thought the burger portion of the pastrami burger was better than the pastrami. We also got the chili cheese fries with pastrami on top. I felt the pastrami was light and the fries were too much. The chili was good. We had lots of leftover fries.
Love the pastrami fries but the pricing doesn't make any sense at all. Either way service was quick and the food was amazing as always
I sure hope the food tastes good today. Because I have been waiting in the drive through line with four other cars for about fifteen minutes. Never had to wait this long. Won't do drive thru again!

Very costly. Mediocre taste. No to go boxes except gigantic moving size. Mealie breading on onion rings. Bad ranch. Crowds of people want to give them their money. This is not for me.

Great find! Pastrami Dip is good. Onion rings are also good. Affordable prices and nice portions. Their chili was a bit bland but still good. Pastrami was tender but lacked the pungent flavor offer…
Was my favorite pastrami when living in California and on my visits from Texas it’s a “must stop in” when visiting. Well, not after this last visit. Shrinkflation has hit the pastrami. It has shrunk in size as the price has climbed. No more.
So disappointed in today's fries. They it looks like they've been sitting in oil for hours. They were definitely day old fries. We ordered pastrami fries, a chili burger and a regular fries, and the fries were thumbs down never experienced this with them before
I expected better after all the hype I've heard about this place. I purchased the Pastrami dip sandwich and for $13.00 was way overpriced and was small for the $ price$ was way overpriced in my opinion. And way over-rated and over publicized. The restaurant was hard to get into location and traffic. Food was OK. Sandwich should have been Huge, but just medium size.
They put a hand full of pastrami instead of two like they have been I asked they said it's always been that amount I'm currently looking for a new spot for pastrami fries cause there quality dropped and they stiff charge the same as always this place is inconsistent with their amounts I recommend going somewhere else
I wanted to like this place because of what I heard and the recommendations. The Roast Beef sandwich sounded good with cheese and mayo with the au just. The sandwich was almost no flavor but the bun was good. I expect the taste to match the presentation of meat and bread, looked delicious, sorry to say it was not the case. I then looked at the chili cheese fries and thinki g that this is way too much and I cannot wait to dig in, well, just like the sandwich the chili cheese fries had no taste and no seasoning. They were very bland and I added salt to help push it to a taste bud kicker but it did not help. Again the presentation was great and looked so good but it did not live up to the mound of chili and cheese. I wanted this place to be good but I left not wanting to give it a second try.
I came here specifically for the chili cheese fries after seeing all the hype online. The place was busy, but that wasn't the issue.\n\nAfter waiting 10-15 minutes just to order, I was given ticket…

The food is great but this location in particular is going downhill due to their lack of scaling for their demand. They routinely get packed, today I counted 85 bodies in the room, there was only about 10 more spots before we broke the room capacity and had to get fire marshalled. Plus on top of that there was no room for the tables OUTSIDE either. I saw 2 people almost get hit from the traffic for the Drive Thru on my way leaving. The food is good but its not worth getting killed or my car dinged over. Avoid during lunch, come at OPEN or BEFORE CLOSE. It is common for people to be watching you finishing your food to take your table as soon as you are done, it feels like a cafeteria more then a restaurant sometimes. I hate eating here but the food is only good when its freshly hot with the fountain drinks.
Drove there from Morongo Valley only to be told they aren’t setup to accept “The Hat” gift cards. How incompetent do you have to be to open an establishment and not arrange for all manner of payment! The hat has lost all credibility. Oh btw don’t expect any type of response from The Hat or its owner because they could care less, they’ve already got your money and they don’t care about customer satisfaction!
What was supposed to be a Steak Sandwich was mostly a lettuce sandwich! See pic! It is on the menu as "Hot Food" but my steak was cold and drowned in lettuce!! Very bland also, with virtually NO flavor. No salt or pepper. They wouldn't even grill the onions! Who likes raw onions on a grilled steak sandwich?? They even forgot to put on the mayo! And the price was $12.60 before tax! 😫

Lo que se dice de The Hat
The Hat: Rancho's Consistent Comfort Food King
There are some spots in Rancho Cucamonga that just feel like home, and for me, The Hat is definitely one of them. It's not about fancy dining or intricate menus; it's about pure, unadulterated comfort food that consistently hits the mark. If you've lived around here for a while, chances are you’ve already got your favorite order down, but for anyone new to the area or just looking for a reliable, satisfying meal, let me tell you why The Hat holds a special place in my heart, and in the hearts...
The Hat: Rancho Cucamonga's Crowded, Classic Fast-Food Fix
Rancho Cucamonga has its fair share of local institutions, and when it comes to classic fast food, The Hat often tops the list. You know the place – it’s that spot that always seems to have a buzz, a constant stream of cars, and people lining up for their fix. It’s not just a restaurant; for many, it's a local staple, a familiar comfort food stop that’s woven into the fabric of our community.Step inside on a busy Sunday afternoon, and you'll often find the place absolutely mobbed.
