Huge shout out to this place. We are ER night shift workers who ordered food late (11:30pm) on uber for delivery and when uber delivered our food they forgot one bag but there was no way to contact them. I called Randolph diner even though they were closed and they answered the phone and said they had the second bag and the driver forgot it and the guy delivered it to us on his way home. THAT is customer service and we are so grateful because we were so hungry and it was so so busy. And the food hit the spot. So THANK YOU SO MUCH YOU GUYS ROCK!!!
Gorgeous diner both outside and inside. Husband has been commuting past here for years and said they had renovated/rebuilt this building in the last few years. We arrived at busy lunch hour (1:30-2pm) and waited maybe 3 minutes for a table. The service was superb, host was efficient, waitress was kind, helpful, and very good at her job. They have quite a few dedicated staff that bus tables and keep things running smoothly. Our food was very tasty, portions were large so we brought some home (especially because we wanted to leave room for dessert!). Waitress apologized for the kitchen being slightly behind but I hadn't even noticed a delay. Noticed that they hold events and cater as well. We will go back again!
This place never disappoints. It's got incredible hours, they have such a wide variety on the menu, all of which is good, and their service is phenomenal. Our recent dine in experience, we had Baye who was such an accommodating waiter. He was so friendly to my toddler daughter, picking up her dropped crayons, and making sure we were well taken care of with water refills and any condiments we might have needed. Dining here is always a pleasure and I'm happy to have discovered this diner.
This was our first time experiencing this restaurant & it definitely did NOT disappoint. The service was fantastic (Thank you, Julia) & the food was incredible. Not only that, it was served super fast, piping hot & exactly how we ordered it. Hubby had the 'Maryland Benedict' (crab cakes w/poached eggs on english muffins) served with crispy hash browns. He was very sceptical seeing this listed, as he grew up in the Baltimore area & *knows* what crab cakes are supposed to taste like, but took a chance. He was blown away by their taste. Was totally not expecting the exquisite taste they had. I sampled the 'He-Man' (pancakes, french toast, eggs, sausage, & bacon). Every bit of it scrumptious. If you get the chance to visit, don't pass it up! We, for sure, will be back. Just sorry it took us as long as it did to try them.
I've been coming here for a long time, even before the renovations. This is absolutely my favorite diner
This is my go-to restaurant when I'm in the area. Free atmosphere and food. I have never been disappointed with the staff.
Wednesday funday, half off a bottle of wine.😀. Thank you Sam for ALWAYS treating us so well. Thank you Trinity for being so attentive. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
A Beautiful diner. Perfect for any occasion. Every time we eat here the food is cooked to perfection. Tonight we choose to have breakfast. The Monte Cristo was delicious and enough for two meals. My husband had the breakfast quesadilla and loved it.
I haven't been here for some time. Some renovation is still going on. The place looks different. I like it. The food has always been good here. Stopped by late one night and had a craving for a sandwich. I got the pastrami Ruben. It was amazing! Monster sized, too! I'm glad I stopped in and can't wait for the next visit.
I have been going to the Randopph Diner for over 20 years. Though this was the first time I have been back since renovation. Amazing experience. The place looks great and was highly active with so many moving parts from a bar to a Bakery. So much action..the food was great with excellent service. Looking forward to our next visit.
The Randolph Diner is a fine "upscale" diner with good food and a nice variety. This is not a "greasy spoon" diner and has great service. It also has decent prices.
I now know why this diner is always packed! The inside is absolutely stunning for a diner and they have an amazing menu with some fun extra options that you may not see at other diners. The service was excellent even though they were busy, everything came out fast and hot! We enjoyed iced carmel coffees and omeletes with home fries and pancakes. The portions are so nice and it was the first time we saw omelets come with an option of 2 sides. Cant wait to come back and try more things on the menu!
I visited this diner on my way back from the Randolph DMV vehicle inspection center. The menu is extensive and it was hard to make a choice! I ended up getting the southern fried chicken and mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks were crispy and melty and very tasty, much better than your average diner. The fried chicken was incredible! Super juicy and flavorful and crispy. I don't live very close to Randolph but I will absolutely come back the next time I need a vehicle inspection!
During my recent visit to Randolph Diner, I found myself enveloped in an inviting atmosphere that fused nostalgic charm with modern comfort, highlighted by the attentive service that added a personal touch to the meal. The food, which came in a variety of hearty quantities, was a lovely fusion of Mediterranean and American flavors. The Greek salad with grilled chicken was a crisp and refreshing break, the Turkey Club Wrap had a well-balanced combination of fresh ingredients, and the Gyro meals, with their soft and seasoned meat, demonstrated the diner's commitment to both flavor and authenticity. The generous serving sizes suggested that there might be a delectable follow-up at home. The diner's quantity and quality, plus the student discount, made up for the substantial value even with the increase in dining expenditures. This visit to Randolph Diner served as a wonderful reminder of the pleasures of dining out, where the food and atmosphere are equally important—two factors that make this diner a must-see. Pics below
I traveled to this location for a baby shower, and yes, it was very far however, it was a straight shot because there was no traffic commuting there on a Sunday. Let me tell you that the ride was worth it because the food was fantastic! My first round at the buffet I went light because I'm not a big pasta, potatoe, or roast beef eater which those were three of the items on the buffet, so I did the salad, salmon, a few roasted potatoes, and some chicken marsala. I loved every bit of it! There was such a great blend of seasonings on the roasted potatoes and the salmon that I just had to go back for more. When I went back for my second round, I got less potatoes, but I added the penne vodka. Now I normally don't get penne because there's no meat in it and as I said I'm not a big pasta eate; however, I added it over a piece of chicken from the marsala dish and I was pleasantly surprised with the vodka sauce that was used, it was soooo good! I really wish this place was closer to where I live because unfortunately I don't see myself going back, at least not at the moment but that is only because of the distance. If you are in the area or you don't mind the ride coming from Central Jersey on the parkway, I would highly recommend checking out this spot. I really hope that someone does have a special event there where I am invited because I will definitely be ready to take the drive😁
My group of friends goes weekly. We get amazing attentive service. And breakfast is consistent and done right. They are gracious and hospitable.
The Randolph Diner has a split personality in the best way. The bar area is definitely the stand out – fun, lively, and full of great energy. It has a perfect mix of casual, comfort and spirited atmosphere that makes you want to linger longer than you planned. The staff is friendly and genuinely engaging, which adds to the welcoming vibe. The dining area, meanwhile, is more traditional, and doesn't offer for quite the same spark – perfectly fine, just not as memorable as the bar side if you're looking for good drinks, great vibes, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. The bar at the Randolph Diner is the place to be.
We love going to the diner for football, and bingo. The bartenders are fabulous. There is a young food runner that always welcomes us his name is Cheikh, he is very attentive to us. Oh and Wednesday is half off of a bottle of wine. Love it here.
Warm inviting atmosphere. A great place to have a good meal and conversation. Staff very observant and kind to not interrupt while your talking with your friend. Very quick service, not pushy to get us out. Extremely relaxed. Will definitely go again. Prices were spot on.
One of the best, if not the best diner I've been to in NJ as far as food goes. Everything I've had so far has been exceptional. Quesadillas being a personal favorite. Bakery items always seem fresh as if they were made that day. The staff is friendly and attentive. The prices are reasonable as well. It's pretty much the only diner I'm interested in going to now.
Another great meal at Randolph Diner. I had a Fillet of Sole Sandwich which came with fries. The piece of fish was huge and perfectly cooked. Theresa my waitress provided excellent friendly service. The order came out of the kitchen quickly. I have never had a bad experience at the Randolph Diner. I always get great food with good friendly service. Been there many times.
The **Randolph Diner Bar & Grill** (located at 517 NJ-10 E in Randolph, NJ) is a standout spot in the Morris County diner scene. Family-owned since 1991 and often touted as one of the top diners in New Jersey, it delivers that classic diner experience with a noticeably upgraded twist. The interior feels modern and upscale compared to your average roadside diner—sleek decor, spacious seating, and a nice vibe that makes it suitable for everything from a quick breakfast to dinner with friends or even cocktails at the bar. They have a roofed patio that's great when the weather cooperates. The menu is massive and covers all the bases: all-day breakfast (think fluffy omelets loaded with fillings, crispy home fries, and hearty sandwiches), burgers, salads, sandwiches, classic diner dinners, and daily specials. Portions are generous, and the quality punches above typical diner expectations—fresh ingredients, good preparation, and options that feel more "restaurant" than greasy spoon. Breakfast items like eggs, bacon, and those perfectly browned shredded home fries get consistent praise, and the bakery/dessert selection is a nice touch. Service is generally friendly, attentive, and quick—refills happen without asking, and staff handles busy times well. It's open every day, offers takeout/delivery, and the prices reflect the nicer atmosphere (a bit higher than some basic diners, but still reasonable for what you get). A few minor gripes pop up occasionally: parking can be tight during peak hours, and like any busy spot, not every dish hits a home run for everyone (a handful of reviews mention blandness or inconsistencies). But overall, the positives dominate—clean, welcoming, and reliably good. If you're in the Randolph area craving comfort food with a bit more polish, this is a solid go-to. I'd happily return for the breakfast or a casual dinner. **4 out of 5 stars**—a cut above the standard Jersey diner.
I visited Randolph Diner around lunchtime, and it’s a great example of a Diner Reimagined—a modern, restaurant-styled diner built during the era of major 2000s renovations. The interior feels elegant for a diner, with stone columns, modern lighting, cozy booths, and a bright, open dining area. The exterior is clean and modern. It combines a sophisticated, contemporary ambiance with the comforts of a traditional Jersey restaurant. There were lots of spots in the front lot, making parking simple. We were seated in five minutes even though we arrived during the lunch rush. Our server was friendly, prompt with refills, and frequently inquired about how we were doing. I chose the chicken gyro, which was served with a side of creamy tzatziki, fresh lettuce and tomatoes, and a warm pita. My table also had the turkey club platter, Greek gyro plate, yellow rice, and fries. Everything came out hot, well-seasoned, and in generous portions—definitely good value for the price.Randolph Diner is great for families, groups, or anyone wanting elevated diner food with a modern vibe. They offer plenty of healthier and Mediterranean options, along with big portions and fast service. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.
We love this diner! The server was amazing and he was so good that he didn't write anything down of our 10+ group !! So impressed, he remembered everyone's order by memory!! IMPRESSIVE definitely will be again. Thank you for amazing food, waiter and great service. Even had our own private room to celebrate 2 birthdays!! Wonderful night.
I’ve been to A LOT of diners on the east coast, and Randolph just has a totally different atmosphere than most. When you walk in there’s huge cases showing the amazing dessert options they offer. The staff is so attentive and welcoming too. There’s seating for days. And as packed as the parking lot may seem, do not be discouraged that there may not be seats inside… this place is spacious. It doesn’t look it from the outside either which surprises you. The food was great and their Bloody Mary hit the spot.
Absolutely incredible experience at Randolph Dinner! The food was beyond amazing — every dish we tried was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. You can tell they put care into every ingredient. The ambiance was just as impressive — cozy, stylish, and perfect for a relaxed evening out. Truly a gem! Everything they serve is delicious, and I can't wait to come back.
The Randolph Diner is not your typical American diner, but an expansive restaurant. It has two large floors with plenty of bright rooms full of seating. I went on a Friday night, and it was extremely crowded. Given the situation, I was impressed that this restaurant is so well-run. I was seated quickly, the service was prompt, and everything came out fairly quickly. It’s not just the restaurant size that was impressive. The menu itself has so much to choose from no matter what you’re in the mood for. I ended up choosing the roast turkey dinner with stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, mixed vegetables, and a salad. Everything tasted great and it was a very generous portion size. It’s a bit pricy for a diner, but then again this is nothing like your normal diner. I really enjoyed my dinner at the Randolph Diner and highly recommend dining here.
We stopped here after and hour & half doing the Corn Maze at Stony Hill Farms. This is a huge place, plenty of seating, staff & a bar area! We sat, ordered our door around 9:30 pm and people just kept coming in with still plenty of room. They have Trivia nights, Halloween parties etc. The food came out in a timely manner, all correct & it was delicious! They have got this place down pat to a T. Plenty of servers, runners and employees throughout for a Saturday night! Three of us had breakfast because that’s the best part of a diner… breakfast any time! Omelet with spinach & cheddar cheese, Oreo pancakes & the Napoleon French toast tasted better then it looked & it looked awesome! The cheeseburger had onion rings & was huge! Very nice size portion & the price was very comparable!!! We will definitely go back!

They have an amazing variety of delicious food. My fave is Cavatelli and Broccoli. They also feature special events and great music A top supported of the community too.
I have been dining here for years, often for an early breakfast on my own and also for lunch meetings. We have admired how they invested to grow and expand this business. The food is very good, the service is always good, the atmosphere has evolved, so the overall experience is good.
I give this four stars as a diner, not a fine dining restaurant. The food is Four Star Diner food, service is excellent, and the dacor is a notch above your ordinary Diner. There was a ton of kids making the noise there tonight so I missed out on dessert, but I'm going to make sure to stay for dessert next time and sit in a quieter area.
They are open until 3AM and can serve alcohol until 1:30AM. The Jalapeno Poppers were very hot unfortunately they had too much breading. The Veal Parmigiana was good and plentiful. The spaghetti that was served with the Veal was very over cooked. The raspberry cheesecake was a light and airy cake surrounding cheesecake and a raspberry creme, see picture.
Waiter was awesome. He's been my waiter for years even though I am not often in the environs. It's great to see him when I do. I had fried calamari once that was the worst I've ever had. It's really not that difficult to dump in the deep fryer but somehow it was awful. Maybe too old. The guac and chips were decent enough. The apple pie was super mid. The Baklava cheesecake never disappoints and breakfast fare has been on point as of late. Maybe the kitchen staff has changed over the last year but whatever the case, I'm sticking to disco fries, breakfast foods, and other traditional dinner food I hope to return and enjoy quality food but I'm staying away from the calamari, all calamari, for the time being as a result of that one experience.
I’m gonna be honest with you I don’t know what I was thinking, ordering huevos rancheros at an American diner, but this gets a four out of five stars just on principle. I mean look at the photo that I uploaded when you look at that; do you think huevos rancheros? Cause I don’t. I was reluctant to post the picture of the huevos rancheros on my Instagram just from fear and scrutiny from the Latinx community. With the elephant in the room addressed. I do have to give credit to the wonderful selection of cocktails this establishment has to offer. I myself ordered a glass of Mai Tai. Now, let me tell you about this Mai Tai. My first sip was pure alcohol. It was an evanescent experience. As in my sobriety is evanescing. Had to swirl it a little bit for it to be legally considered a cocktail. This is a compliment by the way. I’ve got to give special credit to our server, who was extremely courteous, and even knew French. Are you kidding me? What a pleasant surprise. He was so cool and rocking that Apple Watch as well. I see you you my guy. Randolph diner, if I’m ever in the area, I’ll return, but not for your huevos rancheros, but for your wonderful cocktails .
Good food, Service and the atmosphere is good. The only issue i have is that dinner and appetizer usually arrive together or seconds apart. Not giving you enough time in between.
Most NJ diners I go to have good quality food with a something for everyone menu. I like how they offer organic broccoli. Gluten-free options, wait staff are always friendly. The boys 18 & 19 always seem to enjoy going here. Great atmosphere.
Diner is big with great environment to bring your family. Great quality FOOD & customer service! We went for breakfast. Ordered eggs any style with home fries and whole wheat toast along with mimosas. The little details were missing like mimosas were served in wine glasses not flutes. The menu is big with lots of options to choose from.
What's with the hostesses?!?! They are the first people you see when you enter the diner; they're unwelcoming and unfriendly. They don't greet you when you come in nor do they smile. The entire experience throughout our meal is seeing these un-smiling and un-friendly hostesses as they seat other customers. It should be "Welcome to Randolph Diner". When you leave, "Thank you for coming, come again!". A simple greeting with a smile would go a long way.
The Randolph Diner on Route 10 doesn’t look like it’s trying to win any culinary Oscars—but don’t let that fool you. The place delivers comfort with confidence, like a well-worn jacket that somehow still fits perfectly. The staff greets you with that rare blend of friendliness and efficiency, the kind that makes you think they already know what you’re going to order before you sit down. It’s the vibe of a diner that remembers the glory days yet hasn’t lost a step. Service is where this place really shines. They’re attentive without hovering, fast without rushing, and genuinely pleasant without that forced “I’m-pretending-to-like-you-for-a-tip” energy. Drinks arrive before you’ve even settled in, the food hits the table still steaming, and the whole experience moves at a nice, steady rhythm. You feel taken care of—important, even—and let’s be honest, that’s a big part of what keeps people coming back. And the food? Oh, it’s exactly what you hope for when you choose a diner over the hundred other things fighting for attention on Route 10. The menu is miles long, but nothing feels like filler. Solid flavors, generous portions, and that comforting sense that the kitchen actually gives a damn. It hits the four-star sweet spot: dependable, tasty, and legitimately enjoyable. Now… that burger. That medium rare burger. Whoever was at the grill that day deserves a medal, a handshake, and possibly joint custody of the child that burger made me want to adopt. It came out perfectly pink—juicy without being messy, hot all the way through, seasoned like someone whispered the secrets of the universe into the salt shaker. I’ve eaten a lot of burgers in my life—some traveled across oceans with me—and this one lands squarely in the “one of the best ever” category. They didn’t just cook it; they respected it. And my taste buds are still sending thank-you notes.
Take my review with a grain of salt because I only ordered an omelet, toast, and pancakes, which are pretty hard to butcher. Granted, I thought all 3 were good, plus their bakery looks 👌🏼👌🏼. The atmosphere inside has a nice vibe, servers were attentive, and the menu selection is solid. Was only passing through the area and needed a quick bite to eat, but I was glad I stopped here. Would def come back again.
Great gem hidden. The location is near major roadways, specifically Rt10, so it's very convenient. The food is delicious, the staff is very courteous. The decor is eye-catching, and I love the tree that sits in the middle of the dining area. It creates such a lovely ambiance almost like you're in a fairytale forest. I will definitely be going back soon.
Food was hot but it tasted like old oil used on fish and chips. Fish was the size of small chicken nuggets. Definitely not worth its price of $20. Mozz sticks and onions rings were good though. Usually don’t have complaints here, this would be a first for me. Service was good. Always a nice setting to dine in.

Today is 9/2. The food was delicious, the waiter we had was great (really nice Turkish gentleman), and the atmosphere was nice. So why 3 stars you may ask? Because the Manager is rude an unreasonable. If you were given this menu when you were seated at your table, would you assume you could order $10/20 wings tonight? The Manager Randolph Diner is telling me it’s only if I sit at the patio and only when a football game is on. 🧐🤨 The Manager (Sam) did not honor the advertisement.
I hadn't been here in years so I thought I'd try it again. My table wasn't cleaned properly. Still had colored sprinkles from the last customers. I ordered one of the dinner specials, Paella. Never again! The shrimp & squid were overcooked & rubbery. The clams & mussels didn't taste fresh. I gave 3 stars only because the waiter was polite & professional. I was hesitant to have the manager called over but he assured me it was no big deal. The manager was very polite & allowed me to order something else. I had chicken fingers. Don't think I'll go back again, though.
This is a tough one for be because of the situation I had. First off let me say that their food is good . The problem I have is that I tried ordering through grub hub. I ordered chicken tenders as an item and I received onion rings. I called the diner and all they told me was they don’t know why I didn’t get chicken tenders and I had to contact grub hub which to me isn’t fair because grub hub didn’t mess up my order the diner did but they didn’t do anything to rectify the situation. I ordered chicken fingers for my kids and that’s fine I would get my money back but my kids didn’t want onion rings they wanted chicken fingers so for me it wasn’t fair. Had they understood the situation and admitted they messed up and tried to rectify it this review would be 5 stars. The customer service needs work
Feb. 11, 2017 I had dinner here tonight with my family of 4 and I can not get myself to give 5 stars. Here is why: 5 stars for quality and quantity of the food. 4 stars for cleanliness 3 stars for service (our waiter was horrible!) 2 stars for soda.....ugh check your bottles Recommendation for management: Better staff will make this place one of a kind and be that top 5 star venue it can be. I was truly blown away by the quality and taste of the food. Feedback on our service: 1. Server was not attentive and horrible attention to detail. 2. We had to ask for 2 more place setting for family of 4. 3. Ask for refill for our and our kids since after 5 pass he didn't attempt to ask. 4.Our salad and soup never came so we had to ask for it. 5. One of the dish was incorrect and when we told him he said it was what we ordered. After showing him he finally said this wasn't what we ordered. 6. We ordered chocolate milk for our kids and it looked like regular milk. So we opened the lid to realize they squinted the chocolate syrup but never stirred it. Really? Who does that? Then when they got the refill, SAME THING. Very annoying..... 7. What is up with the coffee cup (see photo) for kids drinks? I was surprised until we were walking out to see all the kids with kids cup and not this coffee cup. 8. Our waiter barely spoke but then he was also barely rendering service. Overall rating is 3 out of 5 stars for poor quality of service. Might be better off for take out since the food is amazingly great.
I wanted to try this spot for lunch and called in my order. When I arrived I parked in the private lot. I walked in and was greeted and my food was ready. I ordered the fish and chips. I paid and left. When I ate I wasn't too fond of the meal. The fries weren't bad but the fish wasn't great to me. It was missing something. I won't order this meal again.
I have to say that prior to 2025, this was my favorite place to eat. In 2025, the food quality has dropped. The chicken tastes rubbery, the bacon tasted like plastic. Had to spit it out. When I reported it to the waitress, she said they have received prior complaints. Manager also confirmed. If so, why are they still serving it? In summary, this was my last visit there until I hear about changes.
I'm a foodie, so I can be very picky. I've eaten many dishes here, but only stick to a few because I know I can count on them, like disco fries, corned beef sloppy Joe, and THE BAKLAVA CHEESECAKE -- YUM! The biggest disappointment for me is the corned beef hash - there's a funky taste to it that I don't get when I make it at home; and while I like the rye bread on the sloppy Joe, it's not good by itself as just toast, not to mention the butter is rarely enough and never covers more than a small spot in the middle. I will order the eggs benedict, but for the size of the English muffin, they only put one piece of Canadian bacon and one poached egg on each side. Many diners will put three of each to fully cover the muffins. Often, I'll order a third egg myself. The home fries are inconsistent - meh. The omelets are okay. As for lunch, I'll order grilled cheese a lot; it's decent, but I order it with tomato and ham, and many times the two sides slip apart because the tomato slices are too thick. I don't like the white bread, so I've only gotten a club a few times - it's just too dry. I don't order dinner much anywhere I go, but I used to love their chicken cordon bleu. I don't know what happened, but a few years ago, they started making the gravy too sweet for me. I ordered it two separate times just to be sure, and sadly it was. They don't season their burgers, and they're dry, so I stay away from those; sliders are okay. The nachos are a joke with cheese sauce instead of shredded cheese, and there's a sweetness to the meat (I'm not a fan of sweet in anything that should be savory - I know this is just a personal taste). I've done the potato skins several times, and they're usually so overcooked that the cheese is nonexistent, and the bacon bits are burnt. So why do I keep going back? The service and atmosphere. Like I said, I do have some favorite menu items, and if it's been awhile since I have had them, then it's usually worth the visit to see the servers who know my name and are very good to me. Plus, it's really nice to sit in the space outside the bar area. So, sure, I'd recommend the place, but with caution.
So disappointed in our meals! Large portions, but no flavor! I took my granddaughter out for lunch....the kids mac & cheese portion was huge (so was the "included cookie"), but lacked flavor. I ordered the spanakopita, thinking diners would do this item well. It came with rice and vegetables. Once again portions are large but the food is flavorless. The vegetables and rice had absolutely no seasoning whatsoever and were extremely Bland and the spanakopita was very greasy and not very tasty. A very expensive meal that disappointed us
We were visiting Dover and looking for a nice place to have brunch. This spot looked fresh and inviting. The bartender, Bryan, was very attentive and easy to work with, which we appreciated. However, the rest of the staff didn’t seem friendly or attentive, and they weren’t very responsive when customers asked for anything.
The Randolph Diner is huge, and feels much more like a restaurant than a diner. It’s very nice inside, two floors and they have a patio, several different areas for sitting, a counter and a bar. We were warmly greeted and were at our table super fast. Our waiter was nice and our food came out fast and hot. The menu had plenty of healthy choices, the food was fine. I ordered two sunny side up eggs, asked for no (two) sides but waffle fries instead. Was charged full price for two eggs ($7.99) plus charged for the fries. Menu does state that they’ll add a charge for substitutions - I get that, but $8 bucks for two sunny side up eggs with no sides is just… unfriendly. Anyhow, this was one of the restaurants on the Somerset Patriots Diner Passport, and the next to last one on our list! Disappointed that they don’t have the stamp “anymore” but the young woman at the register was nice enough to mark up their page saying “they’ll call if they have questions.” Overall, an okay lunch, but not a fun experience. The restaurant does take accessibility ♿️ to heart, with several ramps inside and out and large accessible bathrooms. Large parking lot.
Ordered the Moussaka which in the past came with the Greek salad and the server said it didn't come with salad was quite expensive for one piece of Moussaka. Service was not up to par as we sat the…

Not as bad as a 2.9, it's a decent local diner, but it looks better than it is, prices higher than they should be, but it's not a place to stay away from. The food isn't bad, and service is just ok.
My family has been coming here since the 1980s. The food has gone downhill somewhat, as they may have changed chefs. The food is not so good anymore. It's just ok. They need to re-evaluate who is…

The restaurant is clean and beautiful. Excellent service, and portions. However I ordered Steak and eggs, with pancakes and hash browns. The steak was very hard like rubber (I wasn’t able to eat it).
Service and atmosphere were good, but that is where it ends. Like most people from NJ, I've been to a million diners in my life. The food here is bland and tasteless. I got a standard diner breakfast and the home fries were barely cooked and had absolutely no flavor...just a bunch of shredded potatoes with nothing else. My son's hamburger also had no spice or juice whatsoever. It was like a hockey puck. Many diner choices around, this is not one of the good ones.
I wanted to like this place. I hadn't been here in a very long time. Inside, the ambiance is decent, in fact it looks pretty upscale. The problem isn't the ambience, however, rather it's the food and the service. We ordered calamari for starters. When it came, one person in our party said that it looked like the meat was an off gray color. When I bit into it, it was extremely crusty, almost overcooked. You never want calamari overcooked. The taste was even worse than the texture, it was fishy, which I've never really tasted in calamari unless it was a little bit past its prime, as in not fresh. The calamari was just not good, let me put it that way. But that was just the beginning. Everyone in our party had something different, someone had the Italian sub, I had the corned beef sandwich. When it did arrive, the meat was beyond parched. It was practically beef jerky. And not even good beef jerky, off tasting beef, unpalatable jerky. And this is corned beef, which is supposed to be juicy. There was also no sauce to it to kind of counteract the dry taste. It was just not palatable. For the first time in my life I could not finish a corned beef sandwich. My partner had the Italian sub sandwich. For starters, there was no dressing; typically you see oil and vinegar. This sub was completely dry. The chunks of deli meat were cut extremely thick, almost double or triple the normal thickness. Biting into this monster was a Herculean task, given the fact that it was already dry to begin with, and quite unpalatable. The disco fries were nothing to write home about. The gravy was mediocre, almost like canned gravy. Everyone in our party had the same exact impression: the food was just not good, and no one finished more than half of it. It was just not tasty, nor fresh. It had no dressing or sauce to it to try to counterbalance that (not that you would need it if the food were fresh and tasty.) On top of it all, they charge extra for each refill of lemonade. I've never seen this anywhere else. I opted to go with the plain water. I normally don't want to attack any servers, because I know their jobs are difficult to begin with. But our server just did not care about the service or the timeliness. Yes, it's a diner, and you don't expect fantastic service to begin with, but she would pass us about three or four times and never once look at us and ask if everything is okay. Service was just mediocre at best. I've had some bad diner experiences, but I cannot recall one as bad as this. I will not be returning here unless there are major changes.
My family and I came after my school orientation. I came here about two years ago and everything was amazing. I came back today and was not statisfied like last time. The mozzarella sticks were okay. Not crazy about the sauce it kind of tasted like preggos sauce. My mom got the chili and did not like it. It was way too greasy for her liking so she retuned it and got a spinach cheese pice which she was much happier with. I got the chicken parm no pasta and it was okay at best. The chicken was a little tough on the edges and the sauce was a bit too watery for my liking. My brother got a fish sandwich and he said it was okay. We all brought home leftovers as they were very generous with them. For dessert we all shared a plain cheesecake. The cheesecake was good. It was very fluffy and light. The taste was great. My brother and mom also got a chocolate milkshake and to them it had the consistency of chocolate milk. Our server was nice but spoke very quietly that we couldn’t hear him. We also had another runner who was nice but couldn’t understand much English. The diner was clean but the floor was SLIPPERY. I was using my crutches and almost fell because my crutch couldn’t grip the floor. My brother ended up getting my wheelchair so I wouldn’t fall. Just pointing this out that this family brought there dog in and it was not a service dog. Usually service dogs are tucked under the table and out of the way. He was sitting up and looking for food and would go under the table for scraps. Well behaved yes but established shouldn’t let non service dogs into the area. If I HAD brought my service dog with me for medical reasons, I probably wouldn’t have felt comfortable that my girl would be able to task without getting distracted. The only reason why I didn’t bring her was because I had my mom and brother with me.
Great food. Great selection. Prices are out of control. . I got a hot coffee they charged me for each refill.. without telling me... who the hell does that. Basically $14 for 3 8 oz coffees... It would have cost me $3.50 at every other diner. If they had told me it was not a bottomless cop I never would have gotten the first cup. Very sneaky charges... You need to pay attention to your bill and ask questions before you order.. everything seems to be a la carte. Server kind of clueless.

Our food was horrible we put in an order and they forgot about us then the waitress apologized ran to the kitchen and had them microwave us food real quick. My mother couldn't even eat her rubin but she was just to nice about it . Fries where the only thing i could eat and let's be honest food isn't cheap these days. Then I'm supposed to tip pfft not coming back place has gotten worse
The food is usually good, but today my sister ordered chicken tenders and fries, and the chicken was served raw. It completely ruined my appetite for the whole meal. Unfortunately, I will not be coming back here.
Please save it, they use to be a great spot to eat, but remodeling has taking away from QUALITY wings terrible the fried chicken like the wings came out of a bag purchased fully cooked with excessive batter the fried thigh was the size of my thumb so crispy it was not chewable or consumable. Acme does a better job. Way to go cut corners and increase your prices plus you pay an additional 3% for using your credit card. Look at the picture a cheese steak wrap change into a union and pepper wrap-
Felt rushed from the moment I sat down, although some could say the waiter was attentive. Came back every minute or so to ask if I was ready to order, not even giving me time to look at the menu. Then they rushed to give the check while I was still eating. The kitchen staff doesn't wear hairnets, and it apparent. Got halfway done with my food to find a long black hair in my food. When I brought it up to the waiter, I was discounted $2 for it without even an apology. Absolutely disgusting. (It wasn't the cashier, it was the manager) This used to be a great diner.
We went to the Randolph diner to grab lunch. Walked in place is nice after they renovated. We were sat at a table by the outside windows. Here is where things go wrong. Our server was very nice and accommodating. We received our menus and by first touching them, they are not sanitized and or cleaned properly and have stains all over them and are sticky, which need to be replaced and revised as they look old. After we ordered and got our food everything looked perfectly good and tasted good. My one friend had a soup which immidiately after not even finishing it put him in the bathroom for 30 minutes blowing it up. We stayed a few after just in case he had to to again. While sitting there and being observant of the surroundings the seats were not cleaned properly, tables were not cleaned properly and sanitized, windows had bugs on them and un maintained. After we left, the following day came to find out that we had the rest of the group food poisoning. Reflective of the business it is a great place to be in, but as a concern for health I would suggest a NJ audit of health and sanitation of the premises throughly to ensure standards of overall cleanliness is maintained and graded appropriately and or have better maintenance crew and team members clean throughly to bring out the interior even better, especially since they have a bat. Additionally to have a chef who knows how to cook the food properly for quality assurance.
The diner is beautiful, however, the food is terrible. Today, my husband, my daughter and I went to eat dinner because we saw the sign on the highway and decided to stop there. My husband and I each ordered a wrap with fries. The only good thing was the fries. We ordered a kids Mac & cheese for my daughter who loves Mac & cheese but she wouldn’t eat it. We tried it and understood why; it was disgusting. After we finished, we paid and went to see the desserts. I got a cannoli and my husband got a rice pudding. The cannoli shell was soft and stale like it has been sitting there awhile. The rice pudding was sour and couldn’t be eaten; probably went bad. Seems like desserts are old. The place is beautiful though which is such a shame to have such poor quality food.
I used to like this dinner but I don’t know what happened, their breakfast is not as good as it used to, especially their waffle. Oh and expensive too.
Food was cold, staff was unbothered, and over priced as heck. I used to love this diner, sucks now.
I had a terrible experience with this restaurant today and left a terrible taste and impression on me. I talked to the “manager” who was rude and unkind. My friend and I talked to him and he just had his nose in the air like we were lying. I explained how I could tell the oil was shot and needed to be changed. I work in a kitchen so I know these things. My friend took two bites of her food which was over cooked , greasy and the Gravy was so think it tasted of pure flour. Our waiter offered us new food but it made no sense to replace the food we ordered if they didn’t even change the oil from the fryer or make new gravy. It’s just using the same stuff for the same results. Good to know that this restaurant is going downhill and has no human compassion to its guest.
Absolutely price gouging rip offs. Almost $20 for 3 pancakes at a diner. They’re ripping people off so bad it’s disgusting. They should be ashamed. Food was over cooked, and sun par . The greeters up front LOOK MISERABLE. Maybe say hello and smile . Only person with a smile in the entire place was my waiter! He was amazing
Let’s talk about the worst experience I’ve ever had with a restaurant. I’ve ordered from here multiple times and always give tips just because I feel generous EVEN though they always forget a side. I always let it slide and still continue to give them tips. Never called back and complained ever in my life. Today I decided to order food and get it delivered from door dash. I was extremely busy and starving. I was depending on this food so I can eat it in the 10 minutes I have before my next client. The burger I ordered was completely raw. Absolutely disgusting! It was falling apart! So I called back and told them the situation and they could care less. Even though with all the business I gave them. I would had been happy with even an available credit that I could use another day, but they did absolutely nothing! And unfortunately I cannot wait on a phone call line for door dash to give me a refund because I have my customer. This is the absolute worst experience ever. The worst customer service I’ve ever received and I will never be coming back
Food was bland, and soggy. Ordered coffee, eggs, broccoli, asparagus, home fries and bacon. The bacon was good and the coffee everything else was tasteless and veggies were soggy. Not recommend.
Unfortunately, my experience was not a positive one. The manager was not very professional, and the interaction felt unwelcoming. Additionally, the food was not prepared properly. Overall, the experience did not meet expectations, and I would not choose to return.
The food was not good at all and the bill was $40.00! George said he'd take care of me on my next visit but I have no desire to return. George seemed to lack the imagination to go beyond my returning in order to satisfy my complaint.
My daughter and myself sat down in a wet seat . No water had to ask several times , flies flying around one landed in my food, a dirty table to top that off and when I brought it up to management nothing was done they yelled at my poor waiter Chris who was absolutely amazing and proceeded to call later as I arrived home only to be told by the owner I have no morals because i didn’t want to cause a scene in front of other people eating and was told rudely I can’t get a refund only a gift card and the 10$ I tipped the poor waiter Chris who deserved his money and he said he’s taking Chris tip away to give back to me And I feel this diner treats minorities with no respect and absolutely treated me disgusting after spending almost 100.00 . Never again I recommend dining elsewhere
I had a very disappointing experience overall. The manager was extremely rude and unprofessional from the start, which immediately set a negative tone. Instead of addressing concerns respectfully, they were dismissive and showed no interest in customer service. What made the situation worse was being served raw food, which is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about cleanliness, food safety, and basic standards. When this was brought up, it was not handled properly or taken seriously. Between the poor attitude of management and the quality of the food, the entire experience was unpleasant. This is not how customers should be treated, and it reflects badly on the business as a whole. I would not recommend this place and do not plan on returning.
Portobello salad?!?!? It’s been 2 years since I’m a client of Randolph Diner and once a week I would order the portobello salad since it was my favorite . Today for my surprise this it’s what was given to me. The portion it’s completely different from what I was ordering, the vegetables taste old and bad, there’s barely any cheese and where’s my chicken breast?!!!! I’m so disappointed, I used to be so happy on the days that I had to order my salad and just to enjoy a good meal. I’m so upset, not coming back anymore.
My son has the flu and wanted soup, so I ordered a few to go. Matzo ball, clam chowder, and lobster bisque. Service was good getting the soup. Went home and I had the lobster bisque. Within 20 minutes after eating I had severe stomach cramps and vomiting. I have no allergies. After I felt better, I called the diner, as it was obvious something in the lobster bisque was no good and it was food poisoning , although it tasted ok. I spoke to Sam the manger on duty and explained to him what had happened and that I was not looking for anything, just wanted to let him know that maybe there was a bad ingredient and he should consider making a new batch or checking it at the very least before someone else gets sick. He dismissively says , huh, as if I am making it up. He proceeds to tell me that he's been serving it all day and he even had a bowl himself. At this point I said ok and hung up. Would never eat at this diner again, simply due to the response from the manager Sam.
Came in bragging to my friends from Tennessee how wonderful this diner was and then we ordered the soup was excellent! And everyone ordered at my table service was excellent but the sandwich was served to me wrong the first time then they brought it back to the table the bread had Russian dress fingerprints on it and the sandwich looked like someone threw it at the wall and caught it with the plate! My fries I got looked like they cleaned the fries basket in my container the fries were warm but soaked in grease the manager did come and offer to replace my food but I'm sorry presentation is everything ! And after being away from NJ for 30 yrs and coming back to a place I remember from my younger days was disappointing!
I Had dinner with my family here and the waiter was outstanding. However the door greeters/hosts were very unwelcoming and cold. We had to greet them first and they gave us a very dirty look with attitude, . We almost walked back out. Please speak with your front door woman on how to be more welcoming and friendly. Very rude will not go back! 1-17-2026
I’ve been a frequent patron of the Randolph Diner for years. In fact, one of the main reasons I continue coming back is because of Cheikh. He is hands-down one of the best servers I’ve ever had anywhere. He knows his customers, remembers details, and consistently delivers warm, attentive, thoughtful service. If we’re dining here, most of the time the host knows we want him. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the management, specifically the manager often at the front, Sam. He is the sole reason for the 1 star review. The first impression when walking in is rarely warm or welcoming. Over time I’ve simply learned to overlook that, but last night pushed the issue beyond “tolerable.” For the last few months, the whole wheat pancakes have had a noticeably sour aftertaste. This isn’t a one-time occurrence, it has been consistent. Cheikh has acknowledged this before and has actually brought it to Sam’s attention previously. Still, nothing has changed. Last night a friend ordered his usual whole wheat pancakes (with sugar-free syrup and tea). Same sour taste. We even had our other friend taste them to confirm. Cheikh tried them as well and he agreed something was wrong. He did exactly what a responsible server should do: he brought it to the manager. A second order was made. Same problem. Instead of listening, acknowledging the issue, or showing any willingness to take feedback seriously, Manager Sam approached us defensively. The response was dismissive: “I don’t know what to tell you.” No ownership, no curiosity, no attempt to understand the concern. Just deflecting and repeating that the kitchen made them correctly because he “watched them.” We finally requested regular pancakes and they were fine. Which only further confirms there is an issue with the whole wheat batter or how it’s being prepared /stored / handled. When I asked if the meal could be comped (given that we waited almost 30 mins for two orders that were inedible) the answer was a flat no. This was a simple situation that could have been handled with professionalism, care, or even just basic customer service. Instead, it was handled with defensiveness and indifference. Management matters and when management refuses to listen, acknowledge obvious concerns, or treat returning customers with respect, it damages the entire dining experience including the hard work of employees like Cheikh, who are the reason many of us keep coming back. The diner has gone through plenty of renovations and improvements over the years. It may be time for one more change: the manager.
If i could give it 0 stars, I would. How in the world do you serve/sell desserts with mold! Got a chocolate mousse to go, and it's currently full of mold! It's beyond expired ! Disgusting! My wife and i literally just ate mold! This is beyond irresponsible on their behalf! Do NOT, and I repeat, do NOT eat their desserts! God knows how long they've been sitting! Edit: After the owner decided to answer my comment and I hope he sees this. This isn't the first time I've eaten a chocolate mousse. The piece tastes expired/like old liquor. I will bring your piece today so you can eat it yourself, bud. That is NOT light dusting since it's in between the slice. I understand your need to defend your establishment but take some accountability when you're not the one who had to eat a spoonful of it. I've been coming here for years, and I vouch for this place when people ask for a good spot. Never again. I hope you're there today. Edit #2: went back to the establishment, the man who saw the piece of cake AGREED it was indeed MOLD. Initially, I went for a refund for the slice only, and he ended up giving a full refund. Instead of being combative online, while there are pictures to prove it, why not address the issue and stop selling expired food?
