It’s my first time to be here. I ordered their eggs Benedict. I love the hollandaise sauce that they have.

Split the McDuffs special hamburger. It was a patty, bacon, grilled onions, mushrooms, Ortega chili, cheese, lettuce, pickle, and tomato on grilled sour dough. What's not to love (other than the pickle)?

Great service and consistently good food. Eggs Benedict is the thing I most often get. Oh, and sitting at the counter is a good thing.

I ordered the Egg Salad Sandwich on sour dough bread toasted. It was very good. The service was very good. The restaurant was clean and they had a good menu with breakfast served till closing at 2:00. We arrived around 12:15 and there were about three tables available. It’s a small place so I don’t know if it’s hard to get a table. A great location, downtown Redlands.

This is my second time at this coffee shop for breakfast, the first time I was kind of sick and didn’t remember how good the corn beef hash was, and being a corn beef hash guy. I ordered it again this morning, spectacular! I’m pretty sure it’s the best I’ve ever had.

Went for a late breakfast on a Saturday. Service was good, but the food took forever to come out ... this was because it was BUSY! The kitchen was rocking at full speed, but since everything is so fresh, it took a bit. Totally worth the wait! I got a fantastic omelette, cooked perfectly, full of fresh fillings. Someone else got the steak and eggs; it was a huge steak, also cooked perfectly. Really great place.

Bacon, eggs & home fries from real potatoes. Gotta love it, excellent service.

Great place! My boyfriend and I wanted to go to a nice brunch area. The place is pretty small, but we were seated right away. The food was amazing! My boyfriend ordered the steak and eggs and it had the right seasonings, the flavor was just perfect. Their customer service was also amazing, everyone was friendly and greeted with a smile. I was not disappointed at all and will definitely go again!

Love the breakfast, in particular the McDuff's scramble, notice the beautiful browning on the home fries! The orange juice is fresh squeezed from local groves

Shhhh!, " locals only", be prepared for a short wait, which will just titillate your taste buds in anxious anticipation of another scrumptious meal. My personal suggestion, substitute their salad for fries, dressing on the side.

This place rocks. Vibes are off the charts, love the cups, wood paneling, everything about the decor and style is so cozy with the place. Love the food too, very good. The service is also excellent. Having regulars come in too adds to the charm. This place is great, love the simplicity and the cozy nature. Very comfy.

Great hidden gem. Beware this is a very busy spot. After eating here you understand why. Amazing food and great people working here. The location is on the smaller tighter side so not much room for seating. Not kid friendly either (no high chairs but there is booster seats but no kids menus) our kid is used to being in a small dinner atmosphere. A place with a bunch of regulars and great staff and amazing food makes this a must try!

Small place. Good food. Hot fresh food. Friendly quick service. It popped up on google maps when I clicked around looking at restaurants and I like to eat breakfast. The fresh squeezed oj was just ok. I could tell it was fresh squeezed but the oranges used were not that sweet. So that was a little let down. They did accommodate our changes we requested and let us try the chili to see if it was too spicy for me or not. It was too spicy for me but not for my husband. So we had them put it on the side for him. Overall we would return.

This was our first time here. The address was is on State St and it sits back and little difficult to find. It has main entrance on 6th St. The dining room is small. We were seated pretty quickly. I had scramble skillet with sausage. My wife had French toast, scrambled egg and bacon. Her meal said had 1 egg and must have been XXL as was more egg than expected. We both enjoyed our meals and had leftovers to enjoy later too. The service was friendly and attentive

This is a little cozy spot to get breakfast and/or lunch. It’s a small place that can hold roughly 50 people, but was about a 10 minute wait for 2 and it took roughly about 13 minutes to get our food. It has a diner feel to it with the food and the establishment nothing fancy but you’ll leave full.

Tucked away in a narrow alley for more the fourty years. Sunday's breakfast wait time is about 30 minutes and the line wrappes arround two corners! The food is pretty authentic and fresh. Alex who took care of us enjoys the breakfast here too. We had a good luch and at the end she offered us take out drinks which was a nice gesture.

We decided to eat here more frequently: see pics. Mushrooms burger and McDuff scramble which is delicious, super filling and true comfort food, the hubby couldn't wait to finish it for me. Also the service is welcoming and attentive. Recommend. Back again, see pics. Hubby got a Carne asada burrito and I had a cheese burger; all tasty and really nice service. We ate here last week. It is so good. True diner food. Hubby had build your own omelet and I had blt sandwich with sweet potato fries. So tasty. We have come other times too and the service is great and food is always so good. Recommend.

Cute little spot with some tasty, hot-off-the-grill breakfast options. Service was fast and super friendly, and they were happy to make a few adjustments to our order. The fresh-squeezed OJ was a nice touch, but the oranges could’ve been sweeter. They even let us sample the chili first, too spicy for me, but just right for my husband, so they served it on the side. All in all, we’d definitely come back for another round.

In the small corner of downtown Redlands hides this little gem of a breakfast joints. McDuffs, I first came here because I could not get a reservation for Carolyn’s thinking this would be second rate and oh was I wrong. The food is just as good as Carolyn’s and the service is even faster. The monte cristo is a guilty pleasure of mine here, and my friends adore the hash.

Small place with quick service. I really enjoyed sitting at the counter. The oat bran pancakes were a twist I had to try. The biscuits and gravy are a complete meal with poached eggs and a bed of potatoes. The service was extremely friendly and quick. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

I was told this was the best breakfast place in Redlands. That’s unfortunate. The food was ok. Nothing to write home about. I had the groundbeef hash. Limited menu. It was between that and the biscuits and gravy for me. The server said those were the 2 most popular choices. And, the biscuits were not home made, so I opted for the hash. It was ok. The coffee was weak as heck. The service was marginal, and although not rude, it wasn’t welcoming either.

The food is good but not great. Service is great and coffee is very good. Recommended 4 year update: been back a few times and although the food is still good, I have to agree with the negative reviews. The workers here aren’t really friendly. Their very apathetic and don’t really seem to care that your there. Here’s the thing.. a good quality restaurant is more than just cooking and serving food. It’s about passion. Passion not just for the food but about establishing strong bonds and relationships with your customers. Unfortunately that passion is lacking here. 1 star docked.

D
David A

Had great expectation according to the reviews and friends bragging about this eatery. The servers must not have their morning coffee or the coffee is cheap; loaded with negative BEAN attitude! The food was tasty. However I feel that if you're paying for the food, you should have an option of making changes or additions. Don't try it! Talk about server attitude. They'll never know because I (we) always tip well, no matter the service. There are plenty of other choices on the IE.

Clean updated restaurant but kinda dark for a breakfast/lunch cafe. Had the Belgium waffle bacon & eggs. Bacon nice & crispy. Waffle was barely warm and not the thick crispy Belgium waffle I was hoping for. Very disappointing. Friendly efficient service.

The burgers and fries are really good. Stick to those. The other items are hit or miss. I’ve personally found the pancakes to have an off-putting flavor. The atmosphere is cute enough. The keep the joint very clean, I’ll hand them that. Service is whatever. A little on the slow side, and the waitresses can be a little snappy sometimes. But they can also be really sweet sometimes, so I don’t know. Overall it’s a solid little diner. The vibe is nice on a busy weekend. It’s just very expensive for what it is.

Visted this restaurant and I like the food and menu choices. Food takes good, freshly made to order. I'm very disappointed in the customer service with the two (young) ladies who work there. As I was waiting for my order. I witnessed them talking about customers while they were in there, whether customers were eating or coming into the restaurant. Seeing them whispering to one another about them was uncomfortable and rude. I also could hear them talking about not wanting to help certain tables because they didn't really want to serve that person. It is very unfortunate Mc duff's would allow such unprofessional behavior from these ladies. It made me feel like being in high school again seeing girls gossip and be immature about their demeanor. Customers want to have a good experience and don't deserve to have employees such as these ladies do this kind of behavior. I hope Mc Duff's will work on improving better customer skills tactics for this ladies. Help train them to keep comments to themselves, don't laugh about customers in front of them where everyone can see. Thank you!

Please stay away from this place. I've given this place 2 tries thinking hey maybe the first was just a one time thing but boy was I wrong. The food is tasteless, the service is horrible. To be honest I feel like they may be racist. I ordered a steak sandwich can you believe it was just on two slices of white cheap bread for $21 DOLLARS. NO flavor whatsoever and they don't even have steak sauce or BBQ.

Cute, small restaurant, but not for groups larger than 4. Not baby friendly, they don't have high chairs. The service was okay, but before we finished our meal they were already handing us the check "but no rush". Even if we would have wanted to order more it felt uncomfortable to do so. The food was fair, not somewhere I would go twice

I can't believe i had to come on here to complain. I love this place, been coming here for years, to the point ,most know me when I call in my order on the way to work. The last 2 years, I don't know what happened, it's 2 newer people I'm sure, but they just stop answering the phone entirely. Always bit my tongue, still tipped upwards of 50-100% of the bill. Today I tell the lady I tried calling a bunch of times, and she gives me attitude, saying it's too early for this attitude, and shows me 2 tickets. Wth? So u have 2 people here and 2 to go,pretty much empty dining room, oh so you do answer the phone, just not the 20 times I called. Ok. Guess they don't like tips. Sucks I have to go find another spot, due to poor service. It only took 2 bad employees to ruin a spot, costing the owner business and revenue. Shame, this places food is top notch.

Depressing, bland, boring tan atmosphere. Has the potential to be cute, retro and diner-like. Service was basic. Women there are not overly friendly and give the bare minimum. Food was disgusting and insulting. I got the Belgian Waffle for $12.95 and it was two tiny square frozen waffles out of a box. They were dry and tasted like cardboard. Syrup was watered down. Cocoa was good but $4 for a tiny cup and the cup was only 3/4 filled. Second time giving this place a chance...and won't go back. Pretty sad they can't even make fresh waffles. It's a tiny place and wasn't busy at all so no excuse for not making fresh food to order.

This is a lengthy review but it’s necessary in order for you all to understand the extent of what I went through. I’m giving this place one star because of my experience with Sandra, the waitress there. She has a very nasty attitude, was so disrespectful, and was very aggressive to me. I am an artist that frequently participates in the Redlands art events, and I was at an art event as a vendor this past weekend when I purchased breakfast burritos from this restaurant. I paid for the burritos and went back to my art booth, as I was told it would be 30 minutes before my food would be ready. However, when I went to pick up my food, I waited at the counter for a while, when I finally waved down Sandra to help me so I could get back to my art. She begrudgingly came up and I told her I’m here to pick up my order, told her my name, and she found it, but refused to give me my order because she said it wasn’t paid for. I tried to show her my receipt, and she told me she doesn’t want to look at my receipt, she would prefer to talk to someone else first. I told her to please look at my receipt which would show her that I purchased exactly what she was holding. However, she refused, I explained that I needed to return to my art booth, and she said, “Fine! Here, you want the burritos so bad, take them!”. Then proceeded to talk about me to the customers behind me saying, “ugh! oh boy!” I was so disappointed and taken aback by this blatant display of disrespect and poor customer service, as this was my first time here. It was not my fault as the customer that there was disorganization and disorder on the restaurant’s end, yet this is how I was made to feel by the waitress, Sandra. I asked to speak with a manager, and I was told there is no manager or owner on site, but I spoke to Chelsea, who quickly agreed that Sandra was wrong for what she did and tried to rectify the situation on her end. However, I hear Sandra say, “Ugh! She’s back? What is she doing back here? What else does she want?”, and then proceeds to come outside to confront me. She came out very aggressive and further disrespected me telling me that what she did earlier was justified and she was not in the wrong for what she did and stormed off. I will never return, nor recommend this place to any of my colleagues, friends, or family.

Not very family friendly. They don't have high chairs and the tables are very close to each other. The service was lacking. No one greeted us as we were not very friendly when approaching us. The food is standard breakfast foods with little variety and pricy for what you get.

McDuff’s in Redlands – 233 East State Street, Redlands, California I visited McDuff’s in Redlands yesterday with my grandson for lunch. He requested a plain pancake rather than the Mickey pancake. I simply asked if the fruit that normally decorates the Mickey pancake could be placed on the side. That was the entirety of my request. As a regular customer who has frequented this establishment many times, I was deeply disappointed by what transpired. The blonde female employee with the was later revealed to be the manager, approached the counter to hand the ticket to the cook. At that point, I clearly overheard her remark: “She’s so picky. She should have just ordered a regular pancake.” In fact, that is exactly what I had ordered. Such a dismissive and unprofessional comment, made audibly within earshot of a customer, is wholly inappropriate in any service setting. Having worked in the legal field, I can state unequivocally that professionalism requires restraint and courtesy, not disparagement of the very patrons who support the business. As a Hispanic woman dining in a restaurant that was overwhelmingly white at the time, the comment carried an undertone that felt discriminatory, especially when contrasted with the markedly positive demeanor she displayed toward other tables. When I requested to speak to the manager, I was surprised to discover that the individual who made the comment was in fact the manager herself. I then asked for the owner’s contact information but was told by this manager that she could not provide it. I later took it upon myself to track down the owner, Larry McDowell, and spoke with him directly. Unfortunately, rather than taking my concern seriously, Mr. McDowell dismissed it outright. He told me he had never received a complaint about this employee, praised her character, and recited his own contributions to the restaurant—despite no longer working there. Instead of being heard, I felt ridiculed and brushed aside, which only deepened my disappointment. To further highlight the issue, several neighbors have since confirmed to me that complaints about this establishment are, in fact, not uncommon—one even mentioned a mother and daughter walking out recently due to similar poor treatment. The food itself is mediocre at best and offers nothing distinctive. In today’s competitive market, establishments should be striving to earn and retain customer loyalty through excellent service. Instead, McDuff’s appears content with complacency and, worse, tolerates management that openly disrespects its patrons. As consumers, it is important that we utilize reviews to hold businesses accountable. Supporting establishments that fail to respect their clientele only perpetuates poor practices. Restaurants of this nature are, frankly, a dime a dozen. My recommendation is to spend your money where professionalism and customer service are valued. McDuff’s is not that place. Note to other customers: if you experience similar treatment and wish to escalate it, please feel free to message me through Yelp. Since the manager refuses to provide the owner’s information, I am willing to share it so others can make their voices heard—because no business should be allowed to act as if they are “too perfect” to be held accountable.

Not very family friendly. They don't have high chairs and the tables are very close to each other. The service was lacking. No one greeted us as we were not very friendly when approaching us. The food is standard breakfast foods with little variety and pricy for what you get.
