WOW! It's probably the best eggplant I've had. The food was amazing, and the service was super nice. Will definitely go back!
I have been a customer for 31 years. The food has always been great. I love their egg rolls, combination fried rice, crab rangoon, sesame chicken, shrimp in lobster sauce... Any time I crave Chinese food, that's where we go. Never had a problem with the owner or any of the loyal employees that have been working there for many years. I guess if you come in with a good attitude, you'll get good service anywhere you go.
The food is awesome here and the prices for lunch are great. My coworker and I come here a lot for a quick lunch. This time the service was a little slower than usual. They just need one more extra person to help. Other than that love this place.
I love their minced beef soup and sweet and sour soup. They’re always kind to me and even gave me a small sample of soup when I wasn’t feeling well. My go to place for Chinese food in the area!
Authentic Chinese food served family - style. This quaint restaurant is located in Richardson's Chinatown (upper Greenville Avenue). Prompt and friendly service on a Saturday night, even without a reservation. Delicious and generous portions presented attractively - can't wait to go back!
Love this place! Had a group of 8 and some of the best food I have ever tasted. Sizzling beef, orange beef and the breaded fish on bed of green beans were all excellent and reasonably priced. Internet said they were open until 9:30 (really only 9pm) and we showed up at around 8:30pm (sorry) and they still seated our party and gave great service. Came back (earlier this time) 2 days later and the food was even better! Sauce on the beef with peppers/tomatoes was fantastic. I am jealous I don't live closer to enjoy this place every week. 2 of my guests were originally from Hong Kong and they even commented on the quality and price of the food.
the fish with xo sauce is absolutely delicious !! the service was great as well, called for takeout when they were really busy with the dinner rush, so they unfortunately missed the call, but they actually called me back in under 5 minutes. i don't think i've had a restaurant actually call back after a missed call before, so that was awesome !! can't say much about the atmosphere since i only really do takeout, but the food is amazing
This is our favorite spot for authentic Chinese food. They have the best white rice and orange beef. Their salt and pepper chicken, squid, and tofu are also a favorite. Also their low mein and Egg Drop Soup. I’d recommend this place over and over again. The people who own the restaurant are very nice and helpful people. The service is excellent always.
We had a delightful dining experience at Canton Chinese Restaurant and tasted incredibly authentic and delicious dishes for an affordable price! We ordered the garlics with snow peas leaves, the best salt and pepper squid (even better than what we ate in Hong Kong if you could believe it), the Four treasures with garlic sauce, and the beef flat noodles. The service was great as they served was very attentive, and they flagged us when we had left our water bottle behind. Would heartily come back for such great cuisine and cannot wait to sample what else is on their extensive menu. There was also a birthday celebration happening in a corner of the restaurant so clearly this is a special place to go!
Love this place, good varieties on the menu including vegetarian dishes. A few of my favorite is the salted fish fried rice and braised string beans with beef or by itself and the chicken corn soup. Service is always great, good food, great service and clean establishment... 5 stars.
The service here is amazing and very helpful and kind, helped us put the food in to-go boxes
Everything we have tried with my husband is pretty delicious. Good size of the portion (generous) and fair price. My favorites are the bamboo shoots with mushrooms and the pork chow main.
Love my crispy pork chops, pickled cabbage with carrot, dumplings, etc. Never had a bad meal. Been going for year and year. Will drive across town to have them.
The eggplant was really good & there were some Chinese customers next to us, which is a very good sign, it seems like this place is in a Chinatown of sorts with some restaurants around that should be tried, we came for dinner & it sounds like lunch is a good option also it would be nice if the restaurant had some booths for more comfortable seats. I would definitely go back & get the eggplant again.
Best Lobster we have had anywhere Without question the lobster at Canton in Dallas in a Ginger and Onion sauce is absolutely the best and most flavorful we have ever had. We typically order the lobster with extra onion and Jalapeno and it’s around two pounds and has been pre-broken into pieces. We still use picks (which we bring) and lobster crackers which they supply. For New Years 2025 we pre-ordered a large lobster for the two of us, and it was around 4 pounds a massive beast that we were not able to finish completely so had the remains for dinner the next night (still fantastic). We do order a side dish, usually noodles of some sort as well. Over the years we have tried many of Canton’s dishes and have never been disappointed with anything they have served us. Canton is all about the quality and deliciousness of the food. The restaurant is not fancy, but if great Chinese food at very fair and reasonable prices is more important than décor then this is the place for you.
Ate here for the first time today and it was delicious! Had lemon chicken and it was so yummy. The sauce was light and not syrupy or over sweet. The chicken was moist and the rice was cooked perfectly. The staff were super friendly and attentive. The lunch special was such a good deal. It included soup, fried rice and egg roll. I'm really looking forward to my next visit! 😋
The staff was so nice and we came in for dinner with the kids, and they were just the sweetest. We ordered a variety of things and I feel like we got so much food. For the amount of money we paid. I would say it's just really good. Authentic Chinese food and I would recommend it to any one else. The place is also intimate and cute.
I love eating at Canton. The food is amazing. If you want to taste Asian food at its finest... I recommend you eat here. The chef has been with them for at least 30 years. The wait staff has similar tenure and you will find them friendly and attentive. The food is authentic. I recommend you try the softshelled crab 🦀, Vietnamese hotpot 🐟, or the cheese shrimp 🍤. Tell John I said Hi and that Bryan sent you. Enjoy!
Delicious authentic cantonese food. We tried a variety of dishes. My favorite was the cantonese fried rice but the Singapore and Cantones style rice noodles were also delicious. Cashew chicken and Mongolian beef were good, served with white rice. Many dishes still to try so will definitively be back!!
[6/5/2023] As good as usual [5/27/2022] This was our second time, the food and the service were good as the first time. This restaurant has 100+ menu items. Yet, the restaurant manages to produce good food. [4/19/2022][$20] Our first time for lunch. There were several other Asian restaurants but I reluctantly chose this one because others were either closed or looked but sketchy. Our food were excellent and we will come here again.
We have eaten here many years ago and was happen to be in the area and couldn’t resist to stop in. The family run atmosphere is still lovely and same people. The wait staffs are older, but speak pretty good English to take your order. The food are cook fresh- which mean there’s usually a wait of 5-10 mins for the dish, if the place is packed - have patience. We ordered Canh Chua Tom aka Sweet & Sour hot pot with Shrimps. We ordered the large portion and was not disappointed- full of flavors, fresh ingredients and plenty of medium size shrimps. The Fried Soft Shell Crabs - have been a dish that i have eaten here years over years and consistency is still on point- delicious. The dish comes with 3 crabs, they’re lightly batter, fried perfectly and so yummy. Overall still an A+ quality restaurant in a family style environment.
This place is really great! You know its good when you walk into the place and you see lots of locals. Due to celiac disease I can't eat it, but all my coworkers say the crispy spicy chicken is out of this world. I've dipped my eggroll into the sauce and I can confirm. Really simple yet really great cuisine!
Update: I still love this place. My go-to Chinese restaurant. Great food and beautiful service. The receptionist is so sweet. Loved it. It was my first time, even though I have gone to the China Town a lot of times before. I just wish the beef sauce had more sauce in it. My friend had the Singapore rice noodles. The service was great too. I will definitely be going back. We had a good time.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants! The food is always delicious—my go-to is the chicken corn soup with fried rice, and it never disappoints. The restaurant itself feels really welcoming and open, and I love walking in and seeing the fish tank—it adds such a nice touch. The lady at the counter is always so friendly and helpful, whether I’m talking to her on the phone or visiting in person. She really makes the whole experience special. Great food and great service—I always look forward to coming back!
My family and I love going here to eat! The restaurant serves family style so we always order a variety of dishes for everyone to share. We love the beef flat noodles, organdy chicken, and fried rice. The restaurant isn’t too big. They have big round tables that can sit 8-10 people. The food always comes quickly so you don’t have to wait too long if there is a wait. I’d recommend definitely if you’re looking for tasty Chinese cuisine!
We had been craving Egg Fu Yung all day and remembered this restaurant made it fresh the last time we were in. It’s a great place, very nice helpful folks. Ordered Won Ton Soup and some pork fried rice. I knew something was a bit off when the egg fu young cane very quickly. It wasn’t as fresh as we had remembered it previously. We would go back.
This is a very old and traditional Chinese restaurant that’s clearly stood the test of time. Their dishes are packed with authentic flavors and a touch of nostalgia. The orange beef is their famous specialty—crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and perfectly balanced between sweet and tangy. The salt and pepper shrimp are another standout, lightly dusted and fried just right for that delicate crunch. And the intestine soup is surprisingly comforting—rich, savory, and full of depth. A real local gem for anyone craving classic Chinese comfort food!
Great value, large portions and great food quality. Like the old days of Cantonese restaurants. Cuts of meat are thick, not thin with a thick coating: Orange beef is a steak and sweet and sour pork is pork chops (choice of Beijing style or American). Food was so good my family ate so much and we still had lots of leftovers!
Really fantastic Chinese food. Huge menu with familiar favorites as well as a big selection of more authentic dishes. We ordered the whole lobster with ginger and scallion (yum!!), squid/prawns/scallops with Chinese broccoli, crab and shrimp soup, and sweet & sour chicken (surprisingly delicious and fresh tasting!). Surprised to read other reviews about bad service (maybe some of us need to be more understanding of different cultures and that not everyone needs to hover over us all through a meal??) but we found everyone here very welcoming. Our waiter even did the unheard of and told me we might be ordering too much food and recommended cutting a dish, which we did - I got too excited by all the options!) We took my Dad, who grew up in Richardson in the 50s/60s and he swears this restaurant is in the same building that used to house the Dairy Queen where he and his friends would hang out as teenagers! Affordable, delicious and we’ll definitely be back!
Lunch meetup on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 went smoothly! Canton is one of my favorite Cantonese-Vietnamese restaurant. I love all the cuisines I have ordered here for almost the past 20 years! It's never a disappointment. I highly recommend this restaurant. Total bill: $183 (after 20% tip & discount) Individual shared portion: $23 Here is what we ordered: 1. Fire pot: Canh Chua (sweet and sour tamarind broth with vegetables, shrimp, and fish) 2. Fish: Cod Fish with Tofu Claypot 3. Duck: Vịt Tiềm Thập Cẩm (Combination Braised Duck) 4. Beef: Beef Flat Noodle 5. Shrimp and Squid with Black Bean Sauce 6. Pork: Crispy Fried Pork Chop 7. Clams with Chinese Chives 8. Chef's recommendation: Braised Eggplants with Stuffed Fried Tofu and Stuffed Pepper Notes: Canh Chua fire pot is one of my most favorite cuisine here. They offer shrimp or fish version but I requested both with extra charge which is worth it. I always have to order the canh chua when I come here with my family. I forgot to snap a picture of the braised fish claypot. The clams with Chinese chives dish do not have shells.
Looking for a go-to spot for top quality Chinese food, dine-in or take out? Canton Chinese Restaurant is the place! Over the course of several years, Canton Restaurant has served up delicious dishes filled with flavor and love. My friends, family, and loved ones have enjoyed experiencing many meals, from this special place. This restaurant provides pictures of entrees on their menu. Some of my favorite meals include sesame chicken, combination of meats with Lo mein, combination of meats with Singapore noodles, combination of meats with fried rice, salt and pepper chicken, and so much more.
I ordered the BBQ pork with fried noodles (aka "bird's nest") and it's easily the best version of that dish I've ever had. The pork itself was quite juicy and it wasn't overly sweet. The sauce was subtly flavored but it complemented the pork well, especially once the "nest" softened enough to be twirled. The cashier was quite cheerful and she was able to navigate to my to-go order with ease. I'm looking forward to exploring the menu further!
Nice and clean restaurant, we ordered orange chicken and salted and pepper green beans with tofu. I asked for less tofu and more green beans as I felt like eating vegetables. The dish came with more tofu, I was disappointed but once I tried the tofu OMG it was crispy outside but very smooth and soft inside and taste very good. Orange chicken was very tasty too. Chrysanthemum tea served with rock sugar on the side is the plus for our meal. We really enjoyed our meal.
It was delicious. Definitely loved the beef noodles, one portion was too much for two people. I had tried lobster with salted eggs🦞 served hot and seasoning well, it was around 38$ for that one. I should call 2-3 dishes. Stop by first time read the previous review and gave it a try. Worth the time and experience.
Incredible and authentic! Came in for lunch, we were seated instantly and ordered right away. Lunch special came with fried rice, egg roll, and choice of soup. The soup was fresh and ready to eat almost as soon as we sat down. The main dish came within 5 minutes. The food was absolutely delicious. Excellent and efficient service.
They have a GREAT lunch menu! Their egg foo yung is the best in the N Dallas/Richardson area. It is slightly crispy and very tasty.
The food here is delicious. Seems to be fresh food. The spice level can be adjusted to your preference. The server we had was quite friendly. 90% of the people visiting this restaurant are Asian, which is usually a good indicator. Always looks very busy. A bit loud. It may take a few visits to figure out what you like here, but definitely worth checking out a few times. Beef with snow peas is what I ordered, extra spicy.
Food was of great value for the size of serving we got. Unfortunately service was poor. We did get our table and drinks quickly but they took about 15 minutes to come back and get our food order. Not sure if it was due to the place been full or them been understaffed. The elderly male and female staff came off a bit rude.
The hot and sour soup is incredible. Everything else I have had @Canton has been good, but the hot and sour soup is what brings me back
The flavoring was unbalanced for a lot of dishes such as the soft shell crab being extremely salty in some bites and bland in others. I liked the Canh Chua Cá soup as it was tasty and didn't make me thirsty afterwards. Other dishes I ordered, like the sizzling beef, stir fry squid, and the braised fish were okay, but didn't stand out. It would have been nice if the food came with more complimentary rice considering how many dishes we ordered.
A Hidden Gem of Family-Style Feasting Having once married into a Vietnamese family (ex now, thanks for asking), I quickly learned that there’s more to Asian cuisine than Pei Wei and Panda Express. Canton Chinese Restaurant is where you’ll find the real deal. As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted by all the classics: the fish tank at the entrance (always a good sign), floors that probably tell stories if you listen closely, a light grey cash register that flashes your total in neon green like it’s announcing your fortune, and—of course—the classic paper placemats doubling as your crash course in the Chinese zodiac. Now, the menu. At Canton, we go big or go home, and by that, I mean family-style. There are three staples you can’t skip: 1. Cơm chiên xá xíu (BBQ Pork Fried Rice) – Think fried rice, but with smoky, savory pork that’ll make you question why you ever settled for the takeout version. 2. Lẩu (Hot Pot) – Choose your own adventure here. We alternated between the tofu and vegetable hot pot (comforting and light) and the fermented fish hot pot (lẩu mắm) for when you want to make sure the kids remember who’s boss. 3. Lo Mein and Shrimp Balls – A favorite for the little ones. Kids love it, but I’m not above snatching a shrimp ball when they’re not looking. The experience is as classic as it gets, complete with a lazy Susan in the middle for easy sharing and quick rotations of your favorite dishes. Service is efficient—just raise your hand when you need something. This isn’t your typical American spot where the server drops by every five minutes for a “How’s everything tasting?” Here, you flag them down when you need to refill that hot tea or get a round two of fried rice. In short, Canton is perfect for those who want a no-frills, family-style feast with dishes that deliver. Bring the family, bring your appetite, and maybe brush up on your zodiac sign for fun.
Since Caravelle (next door) closed down, I've been missing signature dishes served by it. I discovered this restaurant serves them too. We ordered the lobster cooked with cheese, fried tofu stuffed with shrimp, and clams cooked with some dark sauce. I don't remember the exact names of the dishes, but our waiter knew exactly what I wanted when I confirmed that I was Vietnamese. These were some of the favorite dishes my family would order during get-togethers at Caravelle. Apparently, so did a lot of other Vietnamese families. Everything is authentic Chinese, including the necessity to flag your servers for when you want something. It was definitely not the invisible hand dining experience. Nevertheless, our party of three was quite happy with the food. If you go into the restaurant with the expectations that it's a dive with great food, you'll be much happier with your experience. It's the only restaurant I've found in the DFW metropolis serving my favorite foods from my childhood.
We have been coming here for almost 35 years. Food is always good. The one guy waiter is always so unfriendly and no smile at all. I asked him how is your with a smile. That’s part of the experience. If you dont like your job then stay home.
October 2024 We visited this restaurant for a couple of decades. First time leaving a review. Love their flat noodles since it was always wok fried before the sauce. The chicken and shrimp is also my go to dish. Today, they were a little overwhelmed by the lunch crowd. However, they have a strong presence of regular customers. They keep their menu prices competitive. Keep on it. Don’t loose your passion in cooking great food for the community.
Canton actually used to be one of my usual spots for Chinese cuisine back when I lived in Richardson. This was my first visit in over 20 years, so I am glad to see them still in business and serving the same goodness from decades ago. Service was better than I remember, though there was only one other table at the time. Prices are also very reasonable in addition to being BYOB. Food is decent, however nothing was exceptional compared to the countless other Chinese restaurants which have opened in recent years.
Insanely huge menu. So many interesting new dishes to pick from. I’m always curious when I see a menu this large how does the chef do it all? Does he or she do it all well? I’m wasn’t disappointed with anything that tried. From the soup, to the dumplings , to the shrimp to, to the beef everything was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. The food can out fast and hot. Staff is super cool and cranking out tables. Can’t wait to come back.
After my boy came back from a mission trip for a week, I let him select any dinner he wanted and he called Chinese. I thought, here we go Orange Chicken again, so Chinese it was for the family. We had been in this area of Richardson before and wanted to try a different establishment. We arrive to this plaza filled with Asian cuisine just be aware that if you have a SUV or large vehicle park far or your door will get hit. When you enter the restaurant you need to be seated and if you have a large group know that it will be crowded with food and group due to the small tables. Our server was courteous yet not very attentive to our table. We had 5 egg rolls, almond chicken, YES Orange Chicken, twice cooked pork, and Hunan shrimp and chicken. If you want fried rice, they will charge you 4 bucks more. As we waited for our food, the boys used the bathroom at the back of the open dinning area. Let me tell you ALL the food was fresh and brought to us as it was done in the kitchen. The egg rolls a bit to greasy but if you add the chili sauce omg so good. Each portion was large and each bite awesome for 5 it was $80 with tip. A bit pricy but worth it even with slow but friendly service
I visited my son when he is on a doctor program in Dallas and ran into this place. Food is so so. Kind of old type of Chinese restaurant. Typical Chinese restaurant service. Don't expect much.
Service was okay. The menu have a wide selection, with such wide selection I always end up ordering what I’m familiar with rather trying something new. The fish with tofu is very good. The tofu was not too soft. The beef with noodles are very good. The sweet and sour beef is good. The do have some hot pot dishes where they use a portable propane burner.
I used to love this place for an authentic dish. I came in for a quick lunch today. I had a lunch special and was pretty good. The lady who took my order rushed me to order even though there were not many tables occupied. I asked a question about the menu and she gave me that look of "hurry up your order". Maybe I should try some other time to see if things got better.
I’ve been here multiple times, and out of no where they wrote their own tip without my consent. I was planning to tip and just to do it and say without warning to sign was not cool.
You get quite a bit of food for the price, which is surprising these days. The cashew chicken was pretty tasty, minus some chewy bits. The inside of the restaurant isn’t very attractive, with bottles of cleaning supplies and such laying around, and the man working there acted inconvenienced over us paying for our food. It was very odd! A decent place for some comfort Chinese, but perhaps get it to go.
Place was packed because of the Spring festival celebration. Food was OK, nothing too exciting about it. The beef flat noodles was overcooked and soggy and not enough wok hei, pretty flat taste profile. The szechuan beef is not an authentic szechuan beef, too sweet. Probably too much of a cantonese influence. Same with the mapo tofu. Note to self.. should probably not get sichuan type dishes here. The crispy duck was decent but I wish the cook could have swung that cleaver a few more times. The duck came out in rather large sizes. Ended up having to share that last drumstick with a couple of us taking individual bites out of it. lol
Not terrible or anything, just not very flavorful. We got the Chicken in Garlic sauce and Szechuan chicken, and they were weak. Chicken and corn soup was a little better. But it’s showing 4.2 stars, and given the taste we experienced, it should be lower.
Food was excellent. The staff wasn't very attentive and were actually rude to our children. After one of our children spilled water the waitress, as she was cleaning, kept saying "We don't have time for this, we have to cook." My teenager daughter kept apologizing and the lady just kept repeating it. We were in a big party and our older kiddos had to sit in a separate table. I didn't hear the lady saying it but from where I was sitting I could tell she was not happy. Accidents happen. This makes me sad that she would treat customers this way. The food was very good but they can improve on their service. No one came to refill our water or even bring additional cups for our party.
This place is the worse when it comes to customer service they have no respect or worse SHAME! The owner had the audacity to ask for a bigger tip when he didn’t deserve it.. all he did was take my order & had the lady’s do his dirty work. While eating my meal he disrupted me and complained about the tip! I tipped his employee as well & but I wouldn’t be surprise if he took it from her. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!
I heard that this place has good food, from a family member. So my husband and I decided to check them out. I ordered egg foo young. It was horrible no taste whatsoever hardly any gravy to be honest no gravy really at all. I also ordered chop suey the meat was hard once again hardly no sauce and no taste to the dish. I was so upset because I was really looking forward to having some good food especially the egg foo young. I don’t recommend this place at all and We will definitely not go again. If your longing for some real chinese food don’t go here you will be disappointed. I only give them 1 star.
My husband went to pick up my online order and received horrible service. He was asked several times what company he places the order with when it was never placed with any company just an online pick up order. Also while my husband is trying to explain that to him another customer walks in and says they are here for a pick up order and they were immediately served and my husband was pushed to the side until they gave her her order then they proceeded to question him on the company until finally they look and see it and the worker responded with you didn’t know what company when there was never a company. This place is boarding on the line of racism as my husband is a black male and they didn’t give the other customer any issues as she was a white female. And for this reason I will never purchase from them or recommend them. Which sucks cause they are close to where I work and online ordering was convenient but that service is unacceptable
This has always been the spot for our family ever since I was younger. Today changed my perspective on the place entirely. We arrived at the restaurant at 3PM today and were told by the front lady that they’ll be taking a 30 min break so the chefs can eat. All of us were understanding of the situation and went grocery shopping nearby to pass time. When we came back around 3:40ish, the lady said the chefs haven’t even started their breaks yet and wouldn’t know how long till sitting us. She was very unapologetic and even shouted at us to close the door shut. In the future, if you can be more honest or realistic about the wait time, it’ll be of great service to your loyal customers. We could’ve used that time to eat at another restaurant of waiting. Rude and unprofessional , not a good way to start off the New Years for your business.
I've been a loyal customer for years, but my recent experience was disappointing. After waiting 30 minutes, we returned to the restaurant only to be informed that the wait was even longer due to a break. Communication was lacking, and it tarnished the otherwise enjoyable history we've had at this establishment. Didn’t even have the updated hours about having a break in between the operating hours. Loved the food but the customer service and accommodation were poor. New Year new restaurant to find !
I did not have a good experience here. I was excited to try this restaurant as I have seen good reviews, but unfortunately I was seated and then refused service despite being the middle of the day (2:30pm) before lunch hours even ending. The waitress told us to hurry and decide what we wanted. We were confused as lunch hours have not even ended. We were ready to order and then were refused service because the chef was no longer making food. Nowhere on the hours does it say they are closed for a lunch period.
I had eaten at the Canton Chinese Restaurant a couple of times but not for several years. However, I returned at about 12:30 pm on 8/16/2023. After entering through the front door I saw a middle aged man standing behind the counter. He was shuffling through some papers and so I waited for him to finish. Eventually he looked up. He seemed annoyed but said nothing. I took the initiative and said "a table for one, please". He looked down and returned to shuffling papers but said nothing. Then, he waved his hand in the general direction of the dining room. I found an empty table and seated myself. Less than a minute later, a pleasant young woman came up to my table, smiled, handed me a menu and asked what I would like to drink. I asked her for water. As she was walking away, the middle aged man from the counter came up to my table holding a pad and pen. I looked up. He was obviously annoyed but he said nothing. I asked him "may I help you"? He said (with obvious irritation) "You are not ready?". I explained "I have just been given this menu but I have not opened it." Without a word, he placed his pad and pen on my table, turned, and walked away. As I got up to leave, the young woman returned with a glass of water. I apologized and explained that I would not be staying after all.
Would not recommend this place went there for a couple packages of soy sauce and the lady at the front counter had a attitude. Was looking forward to trying it but with customer service like that I rather waste my money somewhere else
Today is Mother’s Day 2021, We just get out with my mom for a special occasion since Covid. DO NOT order Crab ( $64.99 ) from this restaurant!!!!! It’s horrible, overcook and can’t get meat out of the shell. We told the owner, she said when she brought it still fresh!! That’s a stupid excuse I ever heard !!! SORRY , You’re SUCK ! Happy Mother’s Day to me !!
I went here because i was finished with errands with my friend, and i expected to be met with good service but it was not good. Before we went in, i only had cash, so i called them asking if they took cash, but they answered in a sarcastic way and said “what a good question!” Not respecting my question. When were eating, one of the waiters would just stand there giving my friend and i a weird look. Then when I ate and paid, one of the waiters, since he didn’t speak english well -i won’t hold him accountable-, so i thought he said, “Are you paying with a check?” So i told him, “no, i only have cash.” 15 minutes later, I asked where my change was and they said it was in the tip jar, so they gave my change to me after i said it was my friends money, but they then said, “then why didn’t they give you more money?”
Used to come here for years especially since Caravelle next door shut down. Quality has really gone down lately. My food was very bland and gross. The servers and lady at the front are rude and cough into their hands without washing. I will not be back.
Extremely Disappointed – Would Never Return The sentiment we experienced at this restaurant was unfortunately a very negative one, and it came across as blatantly discriminatory. My family of four is not Asian, and from the moment we walked in, it felt as though we weren’t welcome. This was painfully obvious when observing their interactions with other patrons of Asian descent, who were greeted with smiles, warmth, and attentive service. By contrast, we were met with disdain, indifference, and subpar service at every turn. We told the server we were new to the restaurant, and despite our politeness and smiles, she showed no reaction—just a cold, impatient attitude, as if to say, “Hurry up and order.” My wife asked a simple question about portion sizes, which prompted the server to fetch an older gentleman, possibly the owner. He approached us with an expression that could only be described as hostile, answering our question with an audible tone of disdain. Throughout the meal, the poor service continued: • We were served water once and never offered a refill. • No one checked on us after serving the food. My wife had to get up to request chopsticks and napkins, which were literally tossed onto our table by the woman at the front desk, who also appeared annoyed by our mere presence. • When we asked for a to-go box, we were told to retrieve it ourselves, even though the staff wasn’t busy. We always strive to make dining easier for servers, stacking our plates neatly and keeping our table tidy. Despite this, no one came to bring us the check, and my wife had to request it twice. Each interaction was devoid of basic courtesy, and we were repeatedly met with cold, dismissive attitudes. What was most disheartening was the stark contrast in how we were treated compared to their interactions with Asian customers. The servers smiled, chatted, and were attentive to others while we felt ignored and unwelcome. The food itself was decent—probably 3.5 to 4 stars—but it didn’t matter. The way they made us feel completely overshadowed the quality of the meal. By the end, I crossed out the tip section on the bill as hard as I could. I’m aware of other reviews mentioning this establishment’s reaction to customers not tipping, but frankly, if they had confronted me about it, it wouldn’t have gone well. My patience and kindness had run out. We will never return, and I urge anyone considering dining here to think twice if they value respectful treatment and basic service.
I would not recommend this restaurant. The person that took our order was rude, unprofessional, and racist. I decided that I was not going to eat there because I was uncomfortable and the person that took our order was just unprofessional and rude. I told her she could cancel the order because her tone was rude and she’s very unprofessional. She made racist comments as we walked off . I had to be the bigger person and just leave the restaurant. Some people are just ignorant and you just can’t stoop to their level. SO!! PLEASE DO-NOT EAT HERE!!!
By far the worst Chinese food I had in DFW! We ordered three dishes and none of them are good. All those 5 star ratings are from folks never had a decent Chinese food 🤷♂️. Plus this whole place smells bad and there's no customer service.
Shrimp Egg Foo Yung is my absolute favorite and this place was the 1st time I’ve ever had terrible Shrimp Egg Foo Yung, First off there was no shrimp in my shrimp egg foo Yung, this gravy they drenched my patty in (their gravy) is probably why it tastes terrible. I usually get it with the gravy on the side but when I asked why it wasn’t on the side, they said it was because I have a lunch portion which shouldn’t matter. You should ask if someone what their food drenched in sauce you don’t know how long they are drive is or their commute as this affects the taste of the food. That’s neither here nor there my fried rice doesn’t even taste like it. I regret giving them a tip! As she wanted to charge me for extra sauce and kept coughing aloud.
Well if I could give no stars I would if you pay close attention the the napkin there is a snail on my napkin that came out of my food. I ordered the shrimp with watercress spinach. The food was tasty until I got to that part and not to mention the online menu is different from the inside menu.
Would rate a Zero if I could. I ordered a full meal thru their ordering system. When I arrived, they told me that had no order from me. I showed them my PAID email order and then had to wait 45 mins. No apology, no concern, food was bad, my wife got sick from the food. Never again.
