We stopped in because we found the coffee house unexpectedly closed on a Sunday afternoon while we were enjoying a walk on the river path. A young lady exiting The Wok encouraged us to give it a try. We were very happy we did! Owing to my having a minor surgical procedure scheduled the next morning, I was restricted to a liquid diet. For this reason, I was nervous the staff might be unable, or unhappy about this, and was prepared to settle for tea. Not at all! The lady who served us happily adapted the miso soup to be broth only, and brought us coconut juice and jasmine tea. I didnt miss the hoped-for cup of coffee at all! My friend was pleased with the sweet and sour soup, and the miso broth was delicious and quelled my hunger. The smells of the food at tables around us was lovely, the portions looked large, and the other diners seemed quite satisfied. The staff were incredibly welcoming, even though ours was an inexpensive check. This place appears to be a hidden gem with regulars who appreciate it, but dont spread the secret too widely. We look forward to a return visit when I can enjoy more substantial fare from the menu.

30 mins from me, yet I continue to make the drive for two particular items: their seafood pho and duck noodle soup. They will NOT disappoint!! The duck steamed buns are also heaven on a plate.

Got the Phō Tāi and shrimp egg rolls and strawberry smoothie. The pho was really flavorful, next time I will ask for the steak on the side as it got over cooked in the broth on the way here. Will order again!

We ate in. Best Chinese food I've had outside of Happy Jack's in Fort Erie. Miso soup, crab Rangoon, Cantonese noodles with shrimp and scallops. Everything was wonderful as was the service.

The Wok’s food is always delicious, authentic, and consistent. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and willing to go the extra mile to make a customer happy. Some of my favorite dishes are the fresh shrimp spring rolls, turnip cake with egg, salt and pepper shrimp, any stir fried noodle or soup noodle dish, chicken pad thai, moo goo gai pan, happy family. The owner recently opened Red Tea Room next door in Brooks Landing where the coffee café used to be. We have been getting the most amazing Vietnamese banh minh sandwiches from there, chicken and pork; the pate used, that is an integral part of a banh minh sandwich, is the best I’ve ever tasted.

I went here all the time while I was at UR. Some people are saying the service was bad but I think the lady there is just very to the point. With that on top of the language barrier I guess that comes off as rude to some people, but I thought it was enduring. Good food, fast service, great prices

I just landed in Rochester and was looking for a quick bite near the airport. I believe I made the absolute best choice. The spring rolls were fresh, service was prompt, and the beef noodle soup I ordered from the authentic Chinese menu was sublime. If I’m ever back in Rochester I’m going to be sure to make a special stop at The Wok. Highly recommended. Thank you!

Family run. I love this place. My family frequents whenever possible, at least 1-2 times a month. Great vegetarian options. Very yummy! The honey walnut mock chicken is a favorite of hours and we enjoy their vegetable lo mein! I have only eaten in once, it was delightful. Fast, attentive service. Great local establishment with many options!

I really love this place, it's a real Rochester gem. Owned by a truly lovely family, they make some fantastic food of a variety of backgrounds in portion sizes that always leave you with leftovers. They make their own "mock chicken" vegetarian chicken alternative, for example, that's out of this world. And I'm not vegetarian, it's just that good. Foods are good and authentic. Stop in, then take a nice walk along the river :)

The food was fantastic! We sat down to eat here. From the clutter in side, i would imagine that this is primarily a take out restaurant. But hands down, some of the best asian food in the area.

Looked vacant and abandoned upon arrival on a Saturday afternoon, so I was initially skeptical. The service was prompt and friendly, despite us two couples having two babies with us. The menu was large, arguably having "something for everyone". Wife has recently gone vegan and our friends are vegetarian so I was scared of options. My fears were for nothing. They have vegan and vegetarian options, too. We all LOVED our food. I got the orange chicken, but (feeling a little pressure) took a chance with chicken substitute (made from soy protein, maybe seitan?). Despite being vegan, this was the BEST orange "chicken" I've EVER eaten. BY FAR. If all fake chicken/vegan dishes were this amazing, I'd go vegan and never look back! And the entrees were HUGE. The bill was not, though. :) As we were leaving, I saw sound equipment being hauled in for the evening. Maybe dinnertime here would cure the seeming lack of atmosphere. But if you're going for food, you OWE IT TO YOURSELF to eat here!

Me and my wife came in to check it out. Being new to the area we wanted to see some of the local scene so after Bru Coffee we stepped in and it was the best choice we made that day. Right away the woman let my son play "on stage" with all the children's toys and made our stay MUCH MUCH easier,he played and we kept an eye in him. The food was amazing. My General Tso's beef was crispy and the sauce was great, could use a bit more heat but I forgot to ask for extra spicy. It IS a bit pricey. Looking here I can see that as a common complaint but for my overall experience, it was worth the little extra to have a place feel as homey as it did. Long story short: We felt like family(distant cousin at best) right away and the food was amazing but a bit pricey. They accommodated my entire family and I'll be back.

I just moved back to the area and remembered they had great mock meat/vegan options, so I ordered again for the first time in years today. Just as good as I remembered! $15 for a very generous portion of sesame mock chicken, considering how dense mock meats are. Got two meals out of it!

We like the food. Mostly we have ordered from the Thai selection on their menu. The colored noodles in Pad Thai was a first time for us! We like the Singapore noodles as well. The take-out is effective, service is professional and we didn't wait long. I loved seeing the young children of the family right there, the owners must be dedicated to providing the service. Location works for us as well. We appreciate the take out arranged in carton, and the lady was clear to verbally thank us for the tip.

We get food from here through GrubHub, one of the top 3 Chinese take outs in the area, a lot of healthy options so I can get steam vegetables with my fried chicken wings. Wonton soup is great, mostly shrimp so little different than most. Orders have always been correct and fresh after a few times, keep up the good work .

I was in the area working and decided to stop by. I didn't take an interior photos but the restaurant is more than 80% smaller than the old photos just an FYI. But I didn't mind. Food was delicious! I've been searching really good Chinese food and this really hit the spot. We tried their chow fun with beef and pad thai with tofu. Their menu offers Chinese, Vietnamese and Thai dishes. The chow fun noodles were perfect, it had the nice char from the wok with great flavors. Not too greasy at all. The pad thai was also really good better than other places I've tried in Rochester. Owners were very nice and service was quick. Reasonably priced. Definitely coming back!

Vietnamese iced coffee tasted good, but portion was very small for the price. Coffee was only filled halfway up cup even though the cup was full of ice.

They are always super friendly and quick with your order. They also don't use those super thin, stringy cuts of meat. Their chicken dishes are usually breaded, while chunks of white meat. Their beef is big cubes, almost like sirloin. They lack pork dishes for the most part, but still a good selection of Chinese, Thai and other Asian foods.

Suggestion when a person orders two of something that comes with sweet and sour sauce maybe try filling the little container and also please give two if two orders are made. Other then that the food is GREAT! first time ordering today.

The food was good and fresh. We arrived slightly after 3pm and asked if they would honor the lunch time specials and was told no. I thought that was not cool. Otherwise, the dining experience was good. I would return.

Service and food was very good. The range of Asian food is impressive. Prices are reasonable. The decor and cleanliness are on the basic/minimal side of things, but by no means are they unacceptable.

Stayed at the Staybridge Suites across the street, so was one of the few options for lunch nearby, and am glad it was. Though decor / atmosphere is nothing to write about, the food is very good. The variety is wide, though I stuck to the Thai selections on the menu. Tom yum soup - which is my usual acid test — is good and chock full of ingredients. The main dish was tasty and incredibly generous, lasted me two meals. Prices are not cheap, though not unreasonable or out of whack either. Service was kind and attentive without being intrusive. I recommend!

The sushi rolls were good but they didnt have a way on grubhub to order extra spicymayo on the side. I ordered the general tso chicken one time and it is great. I also ordered Panang that was alright but I had it better elsewhere. I loved the honeydew bubble tea and free slice of green tea cheesecake from a coupon on Grubhub!!! Give this place a try I think its worth a try.

I came here about three, four times to get my to go. Every time the owner lady gets annoyed when I ask for silverware for take out which is ridiculous. Most places you don't even have to ask.

The Chinese food is good but the Thai and Vietnamese food is below average. The restaurant is spacious and looks nice, but the service and the lady who runs the restaurant are kind of rude.

The Boba is so hard it feels like a hard candy sometimes, and they will rush you off the phone as you try to finish your order. The food is rather decent and arguably the best sushi outside of Roc City Ramen down the street. Decent hours and a solid location. Take a shot.

The banh mi barely had anything in it and tasted mid. The beef tasted good but the portion sizes keep getting smaller (looking like it gets split in half if you use the buy one get one deal on Uber).

Ordered the General Tso Chicken for lunch. It was so mushy and not spicy. Smelled like dirty water. Only thing that was decent was the Taro Bubble tea smoothie. I wouldn't recommend.

Bland, bland, bland. I ordered Lar Nar, a dish I'll often order at other restaurants and always enjoy. The Wok's version featured pale, almost clear "brown gravy", mushy noodles and absolutely zero flavor. I also tried their Pad Thai and found it better than the Lar Nar but still deeply underwhelming. There are dozens of better options in Rochester. Disappointing.

The low rating is really just due to the prices. They are a bit on the expensive side, there was no problem with the taste at all. Great place to eat if you're in a group.

Sesame chicken was not good. Not sure if Sundays are a bad day to order but I ended up throwing half of it out.

We ordered honey walnut chicken, Tom Kar soup, and gyoza. Nothing was hot. The chicken was dry and tough. The soup was way too salty. The gyoza were ok, other than being only warm. Will not order from here again.

I ordered on app parked at the #1 spot waited and none ever came out to bring it, then the store manager is sitting in the lobby playing with his phone. The food was old had to take it back and get everything re made. The Chili store is so unorganized, another day I can for lunch and the doors were locked 3 pm.

Nothing special on the pho.. Meat portion is tiny or small that you still feel not satisfy and full considering the price.. The tea cup feels and look dirty due to probably not properly washed off of accumulated grease or kitchen stuff.. You can literally feel the tea cup rim with grease accumulation, which only happens if dishes or plates were not propery washed and cleaned..You can almost scrape the grease with your nails as i got curios to check the details, it is like waxy feeling to the finger the rim part where you sip the tea..The feeling of, i should have tried somewhere else with remorse experience.. Not coming back..Wil try somewhere else..

Food was prepared promptly and the service was nice when I picked up. The food however was unpleasant. The duck bun was full of bone shards, several in each bite. The sesame chicken coating was soggy, while the meat was rubbery, and it tasted bland and like cleaning chemicals. Took two bites and had to stop. The spring rolls were okay, but very greasy inside. The steam pork bun was good, which is why I gave 2 instead of 1 stars. It's disappointing to spend a good amount of money on bad food.

With certainty we will never order from here again. Ordered 4 spring rolls but only got 3. Ordered the beef noodle soup which was spicy! I like spicy though so no biggie. BUT there was nearly no beef meat, all nasty inedible chunks of fat (see pic).

Food was pretty good. The customer service was terrible. It was evident that the woman servicing us had a bad day and/or just an overall bad attitude. I ordered chicken cashew the lunch special for $6 something. I go in to pay and the lady says that's going to be 8 something okay! Then she points to the sign that they have a minimum of at least 10 if I pay with a card. She asked if I wanted a soda. Ok sure, at this point I wanted to grab my food and leave. The food was awful. Had a bitter after taste. Vegetables were soggy and looked like it was from the day before. The rice looked old too. I won't be going back

I ordered 3 times general so’s buy one get one free on Uber eats.received 6 pieces of chicken loaded with vegetables…. Tasted amazing but portions for a three year old. I figured It was them tempting people to try them out through the app. so I called them directly and ordered double the meal for myself and a coworker to try . Same thing. 6 little pieces of chicken.

This place was a terrible place to order. the food was soggy and flavorless. I am a person who loves Thai food and this was honestly the worst I have ever had. I wish I could get my money back but they were very rude and said the only way they would refund me is if they examined the food themselves so I would need to bring it back to the store. I'm so dumbfounded that I don't even know how to start this review off. This "restaurant" wasn't even worth a star nor the $44 my fiance and I just spent on the most atrocious food I've ever tasted. The worst part is the customer service that I received. When telling the rude woman that the food was atrocious she literally said "That's the way its suppose to taste" oh and "just don't order that food next time." Horrible service and horrible food. If I could rate this lower than one star, I would. Don't eat here. Save your money!!!

TERRIBLE to say the least. Chicken and beef are chewy and rubbery. Completely disappointed, ordered $159 worth of food with coworkers and no one was pleased with their meals. If you have a shellfish allergy, don’t order the egg rolls if you don’t want to have an allergic reaction. Egg rolls contain shrimp which I’m highly allergic to and it is not stated on their online menu. Wouldn’t have rated this one star but you have to post.

Do not trust the reviews of this place. This was the worst chinese food I've ever had. Also be warned they will not read any notes you leave on grubhub, requests you have will be ignored. Sesame Chicken was soggy and gross chicken wasn't crispy and fried like it should be, it seemed boiled. Chicken With Broccoli was slimy and inedible. It came with White sauce, I put a note in my order for "extra brown sauce on the side" which should have indicated that I wanted it made with brown sauce like 99% of other chinese places. I think if you're gonna switch it up and use a totally different gross sauce, you should indicate that in your menu somewhere....noone orders this expecting a liquidy clear white sauce that tastes like dishwater. Sweet and sour chicken- chicken was soggy not crispy, this seems to be a trend The lady was insanely rude to me when I went to pick it up, like right off the bat before I even said anything. She seemed in a real rush to get me out of her face. Both me and my girlfriend got sick from the food. I honestly can't believe so many reviews say it's great or "the best in town" it was like they went out of their way to make the worst chinese restaurant in the world, and succeeded gloriously.

One star for the quick service. The food was horrible. We were served old edamame, chicken satay was like this leather and watered down peanut sauce. No one was in there but us,shouldd have been a red flag!

This restaurant was rude and inconsiderate. We ordered lunch special for me and my wife. We noticed two hot & sour soups were not included in our pickup. When we asked, the lady answered "Sometimes customers want more vegetables instead of a soup," which had nothing to do with our order. They gave us no fork nor spoon nor napkins. When we asked, the lady answered "Not everybody wants fork and spoon. You have to ask."

I got two sesame chickens, very soggy and the sauce is watery. The shrimp shumai is mushy and the little bit of filling is very fishy. The wonton soup tastes like dish water. The only things edible out of the entire order are the white rice and the dumplings.

Place is messy and unorganized. Looks like a daycare,storage, office,and restaurant. I had to swat a few flies away from my food. I ordered chicken Pho and the chicken was steamed so it was a globs of chicken in my bowl. The texture threw me off. I sent it back and was told that they were going to throw out the chicken and put beef into the same bowl. The older lady's customer service is awful. She yells order ready come get this.She yelled out a guys card was declined when all he had to do was enter a pin. I will never ever go here again. I'll stay at Sea restaurant.

Do not eat at this dirty restaurant. The tables and silverware are dirty. There were visible crusty bits (green and white) on the silverware along with a piece of hair stuck to the spoon. If the outside is this dirty, who knows what their standards are in the back? The food is all reheated in a microwave. I I ordered sweet and sour chicken, and the sauce was weirdly gelatinous. DEFINITELY not worth the price.

Pretty bad experience on my end here. I brought my family here last night as soon as we sat to read the menu the waitress kept asking us about 4 times if we are ready to order, I felt uncomfortable and rushed. While we were eating the waitress threw the check out check without letting us finished. It was only 8pm. Food gave us all a stomachache. The place looks more like a babysitters land with lots of baby stuff in the corners. Don’t waste your time and money here. A solid zero!

Wow!!! I’d heard good things so I thought I’d try it. First I bought shrimp egg rolls and there was nothing but cabbage. The chicken Cathay was dry and over cooked. The chicken and broccoli was. A friend ordered for me. The food was still hot when I got it! The quality of food is just delightful. I stopped eating to leave this review. Turnip cakes - 12/10 unexpected but delicious. Crunchy on the outside, gooey/fluffy on the inside. Like potato type goodness. Honey Walnut Mock Chicken - 9/10 how is this not chicken? It tastes like chicken should! Little mushy but yummy. Lots of walnuts, thank you. Broccoli is okay White rice - 10/10 y'all know what to expect honestly 🍚 Bubble tea - 8/10 smaller than desired. Lots of boboa, some were hard. Great milk tea mix though. Cheese Rangoon - 11/10 NOT folded like origami! Actually filled with crabmeat and cheese and not mostly dough! Great taste 👌 sweet dipping sauce. Big thanks to whomever made my food. 👏 👏 👏

Ordered off of door dash. Not only was it 25 min later than stated. The rainbow shrimp taste horrible, gave it to my dad who was crying I didn't get him anything. He threw it out. The duck was soggy and tastless. Never ever getting food from here again. Also ordered fried rice and just got white, meaning they stole $5 from me.

Bad experience. The bubble tea was the worst I've had; so bad I sent it back. The tapioca was mushy and tasted awful. The general tao chicken was breaded. When I took a bite of it the breading mushed off into my mouth. Egg roll and rice was fine. Either go to a different place or be careful with what you order and hope it doesn't suck as much as what I ordered.

I am writing this review from my toliet. Haven't been able to leave it since I came home from eating here. Went with three of my friends and was entirely disappointed with our meal. (Not to mention that all of us ended up with stomach issues after we left.) If this was rated on the service alone, I'd give it 5 stars because it was fast and the waitress was pleasant. But the food was NOT good. The soup tasted old and was quite gelatonus. The pepper steak I got was rather bland and my wives general Tso was nothing but the sesame chicken but without the seeds. (Definitely not General Tso's) We will not be going back.

Last time they gave me three units for one Steam Pork(叉烧包）, but this time I ordered two Steam Porks, they only gave us four units. And they said they never gave 3.

Host was very nasty I walked in at 6pm she did not great me instead told me she closes at 9 pm, I sat down waiting on a friend to arrive. when they called she practically took the call with me soon as I hung up she rushed to say is my guest on the way. Our family has been eating here for years and the food has always been very good and fresh. We ordered takeout yesterday, and some of the food tasted burnt and like it was sitting out for a while. The fried rice was tasteless and overcooked as well. We are very disappointed in the quality of the food we had as we expected better. I hope this was a one time occurrence!

Service was amazing. Simply not a fan of the food it is defiantly not the best in Rochester. Sesame chicken is sweet when it should be spicy. With that being said if it was supposed to be sweet then it was to sweet. Rice was not cooked all the way still hard pieces. Reading further I see that there are other bad reviews. Possible some the the good ones seem to be paid for.

Ordered takeout. General Tsos, terrible and completely unauthentic (from traditional Chinese AND American fusion). Got Phad Thai, rated number 1. Easily the worst Phad Thai I've ever eaten. Dumplings, I get it, ginger and white pepper and chinese five spice. Terrible ratio, underseasoned in salt, over seasoned everything else. No way this place has any Asian cooks, and no way can they cook if they are. Although that slice of lime you saw cut with a paring knife made the phad thai edible at least. Lol and why do both dishes have bella mushrooms? You just hitting up weggies instead of having a produce distributor? There is one thing this place is good for though, and could be very helpful to many aspiring cooks: go here, eat this food, get your bowel obstruction. Then you know how bad it can really be. Rather eat out of a dumpster then this again.

I ordered Uber eats on September 11, 2023. I nearly vomited at work yesterday on September 12, 2023. I had diarrhea. Stomach pains. Nausea. It was so bad I had to leave work and go to an urgent care. Personally I will never eat from here again because of how much pain I was in yesterday. I thought I would share because I could potentially save someone from a bad experience. Be careful eating here. Craziest thing is I ordered all appetizers: Crab Rangoons Fried pork Dumplings Gyoza Crab tempura Fresh spring rolls. I’m not sure which one of these is what gave me the food poisoning but trust me When I say the food is not worth putting your health on the line. Don’t take the chance with this restaurant and end up sick like me. Hope this helps someone reconsider

Stay away!! I got food poisoning from this place. Do not go there and do not order from there. I was visiting the area and I ordered takeout and the next morning I woke up with strong stomach cramps and threw up everything. I ordered Pho and Bubble tea and a desert.

Tasted the old oil / dirty dish my food was made in. Tasted awful, and the mango rice taste nothing than what I’m use to, just tasted off. The only thing that was good was the egg drop soup.

They do fake buy one get one free deals on delivery apps. 1 time I only got one order instead of the two, and two other tims I was given 1 portion spread into two boxes. Do not order the cake BOGOs here

Ordered on Uber Eats under a different name (Red Tea House) and it was the worst food I’ve ever had. Got mango sticky rice (rancid mango), lemongrass tofu (hair in my tofu), and wonton noodle soup.

The worst - I ordered through Uber Eats. The egg rolls were so hard , very difficult to break open. The lobster and shrimp sauce is broth with a couple little shrimp, no lobster.

I ordered through Uber Eats. The shrimp & scallop Thai was horrible! Shrimp was so dried out I thought it was chicken & the few tiny pieces of scallop was so fishy I spit them out and threw away the food. This was the first & last time I will order from this place. Spring rolls were messy and fell apart & sauce was horrible- I threw them out too. Big waste of money- very poor quality food!
