I have been to the Rockport location several times and there food is always fresh and cooked perfect, the service that the employees give to there customers is very good , and I will continue to buy food from the golden chick restaurant.

On a budget? Need a great tummy filler? Well, this absolutely the place to be! Personally, I recommend the Big Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich! O so yummy! And, as a side, I found the Fried Okra to be amazing! Everyone who was on duty yesterday was TERRIFIC! Super clean dining room, delicious yummies....what more can I say? O yeah, give them a try!

I love the Golden Chick in Rockport, TX. They serve consistently good food. This evening, I got delicious, juicy roasted chicken. The staff is wonderful as well. Mario was working the drive thru today...so friendly and professional.

This was our first time having Golden Chick . It was much better than what I expected. We had gotten the breast and leg combo . The breast was big. The chicken came promptly and it was hot and juicy. The raspberry lemonade was really delicious. It had a sweet raspberry flavor. The mac and cheese was creamy and flavorful. The dirty rice was very good also . The restaurant was clean and well maintained. They were out of coleslaw and fried okra. The staff was friendly and helpful. Service was prompt and the food fresh and hot .I would recommend them .

Want to give a big thank you to Golden Chicken in Rockport. They were very generous helping feed the firefighters for the Rockport 35 Bypass & Coastal Wildwood neighborhood fire today. Yesterday’s fire started up again around 12:40PM and the firefighters had to come back.

We love Golden Chick. Best chicken tenders of any fast food joint! So glad they moved in after Burger King shut down. I am also very disappointed. They used to have homemade honey mustard and now serve Ken's. Ken's sucks compared to the old homemade honey mustard. Please bring back homemade honey mustard. Salads were my side until this switch happened.

This is one of my “go-to” spots when I first hit town. LOVE the chicken and the sides are really good too! Never had a bad experience and I come often! 😋

I love golden chick and this is the best location out there. Awesome view of the bay and a fun lighthouse themed building. I think golden chicks spicy chicken sandwich is the best in fast food. It’s pretty mild as far as spice goes but the sauce has a great flavor and the sweet yeast roll bun takes it over the top. All the sides are good but I love that you can get fried okra, not many places offer that.

Employee Jasmine working front counter had such great customer service. She is Super friendly and hooked us up We asked for our meal to be made fresh and had no problem letting staff know. Food was excellent 👌

Arrived at Golden Chick at 1215 Texas 35 Business, Rockport, Texas 78382 at about 6:35 pm on Tuesday July 1, 2025. Braxton took our order! Extremely cordial young man who recognized me as a repeat Customer. My wife and I ordered two Fried Chicken orders to go. Braxton asked the Manager for approval for a Military discount! Wow! All the Chicken was great, fried crispy golden and the “Crunch” was superb! The Cole Slaw was good and the rolls were soft and tasty. Highly recommend! Go there! My qualifications as an Expert and Experienced Food and Service Critic; I have over 65 years of Management Experience. I have a College Degree with a BS in Management and have been trained in two Culinary Schools, to include on the job training at other venues. I’ve managed full service as well as fast food restaurants and have had my own successful Catering business. As a Culinary Trainer, I have trained personnel on how to provide superb cuisine and sales and customer service. At the age of 78, I am now retired and enjoy being on the other side of the Apron.

First time trying this chain as your not in Mn, yet. Love that I could get roasted chicken, something not breaded. I got green beans as a side. They were very good, not overwhelmed with a seasoning.

Parking was o.k. Customer service was good and employees greeting with a smile. Ordered catfish special with green beans and mashed potatoes. This is first-time to this location. Everything was cooked to perfection. They should have different sizes of drinks. The ceiling fans needed to be turned off because my food was getting cold. Only utilize them if a customer requests. I will make this one of my favorite chicken restaurants. Keep up the good work.

First I bought chicken tenders they are not over fried an the gravy is good. The fish fried an well I was hoping for more but it's expensive paid over 20 dollars for 5 pieces. I would get two platefuls at China A for less an it taste like fish. They have to work on it 4 dollar for one piece that's to much. An I could not remember the tartar sauce an they did not remind me of it or volunteer the information. Rolls are a little on the sweet side.

New workers!! Much better service!! Disappointed about the ice cream machine tho. Free ice cream machine was awesome! But the service was immediate and fast!!!! As I sat down the gentleman was already bringing my food to the table. Quick fast and in a hurry. It used to be really slow. And they had the food on hand! Before it was we don't have wings. Huh? Really? It's a chicken spot. How could you not. But now is a whole different story. Way to go!!

I hated the way the pregnant cashier spoke to me. She spoke so fast that I couldn't understand most of what she said. I just wanted to scream "Slow Down!" She would speak over me and when I would ask a question, she answered it or at least she answered what she thought the question was. She wouldn't allow me the opportunity to get my words out! I hate when people speak over me and anticipate my questions! The food was good especially the pecan chicken salad. I wished the other cashier (drive-thru?) would have taken my order. My experience would have been much better! I won't go back to that Golden Chick anytime soon!

Some of the best fried chicken I've had in some time. My Wife really liked the fried catfish . Coleslaw was a bit bland but the fried corn nuggets made up for that. Over all I will be going back. Update. 9-4-25 We just got a box of mixed pieces and a fried catfish plate. The chicken is greasy and had an odd taste to it. Catfish was the same. An odd taste to it. Not sure if it is from old cooking oil or some kind of cross contamination. I managed to eat two pieces of the chicken won't be eating anymore of it. The taste is just off. Will get with management in the morning Update 9-5-25. Was given a fresh box of chicken this morning. It was better than the other. But still off in flavor.

The chicken was okay, I only wanted the chicken no sides. I explained this to the young guy working the counter and ordered 4 thighs and 4 chicken tenders. When I got home the tenders were a meal pack with a roll and some kind of white gravy. I think he charged me the price of a combo dinner.

Food is usually good & our preference for chicken locally but tonight on 8/4/22 they wouldn't let me order at 9:15 pm & hours say they close at 10. So do they actually close at 10 & just didn't want to take more orders? If they close at 9, definitely need to edit the hours online because we came out just for this.

I must be a one in a million. My order was not correct and 3 of the prices of friend chicken were half fat and crust! That doesn't make me happy! But it was the tastiest and moist chicken I've had in years. Staff and service we're AWESOME.!!!! Had to wait 10 minuets for friend dark meat and would've been worth it IF I was getting correct chicken and All chicken not tons of fat on some pieces. Best crew I've seen in food service in 4 states!!

Roasted chicken was not good. The seasoning they use doesn't taste good, and the chicken doesn't feel or taste as a real roasted chicken. Mixed pieces of 8 with 4 rolls price is $22.99.

Went this evening to pick up dinner. I ordered chicken tender family meal with fries (my 17 month old favorite). I know it was busy but we didn't get the fries. We tried to call but there was no answer. I had to call my neighbor/sister in law to see if she had frozen fries thankfully she did. So now my husband is frying up fries so my son can eat fries. Drive thru girl was very sweet though.

I have been here several times and this time the food just was not that good. Breading just tasted like it had been sitting under the heat lamps too long. I was in a hurry or I would have asked for a refund. Rolls was great! Employee was friendly. Just wished she would have thrown out the old food and served me something fresh.

The grease seemed old, the inside wasn’t very clean and the okra was hard. Most Golden Chicks are pretty good. I believe this one needs better management.

Food is good, service is good. Only reason I have this at 3 Star is the bathrooms. They are NOT ADA compliant. Yes, they have a stabilizing bar, however it's the toilet paper dispenser that violates ADA as it sits at knee level, forcing you to sit side-saddle. I'm a disabled Vet and have severe back problems, bending down and sitting as I'm forced to is extremely painful. Fyi, the TP dispenser should be at head level, not knee level.

I got the half priced chicken on monday, and it was thirteen dollars. Got home and my eight pieces of chicken looked like they were from little guinea hens. Maybe they were half price, because they were half the size.

To start with the person who took our order had no customer service skills. not helpful at all. Next everything food wise was cool temp wise. Chicken, cool and greasy ... mashed potatoes and gravy, cool. Rolls, cool and smashed. Oh wait, the coleslaw was warm...very warm. Not a very good experience

Catfish over cooked and greasy. Didn’t take very long to fill my order as if they dumped catfish back in the fryer to heat it back up hence greasy catfish. I figured if you can’t take the time to do it right the first time you don’t care about the product you prepare for the customer.

The food was very good. The service was slow. Plenty of parking. The dining room was cold like an ice box and was not as clean as I would like. Other customers were VERY upset. They gave me one napkin for two people and no fork or spoon with mashed potatoes and cole slaw. The outside tables were nasty. I would chose another place to eat.

I waited more than the five mins. More like 20.The fried okra was soggy. The bottom of my box was not put together correctly, and everything fell out. The gravy was good, although upside down. The chicken seemed like it had been left a bit to long. This was my first time, most likely my last. I gave it a shot. The people were friendlythey said they only had three people on. They had me plus four other cars pulled to the parking lot next store. The lady went to multiple cars before finding me. The whole presentation was disappointing. I was looking forward to my first time. Hence, I try not to do fast food...

I don’t really know what the problem is, but the last two locations that I’ve been to this being one of them the chicken was dry and like it was sitting around and the burger was kind of cold. Service was fine, but far from stellar. Two girls literally walked over the food for my partner, and I. And the one bringing my food brought the sandwich alone with no sides. We were the only people there. Everyone in the back seem to be working and keeping steady at it for a house just seem bored and distracted.

Food took forever and then they got the order wrong once we finally did get it. Went back to get it corrected and the staff had attitude problems amongst themselves 🙄. It made eating inside very uncomfortable. The food is good, they just need to get their act together and remember they are food and customer service professionals.

Fantastic fried catfish, good chicken strips with gravy, yeast rolls, haven't eaten other items yet but I hear they are good also. Last visit was very bad, loud and obnoxious manager complaining about carbonated drinks unavailable, the worst was fish appeared to have been precooked or the very least over done. Wont go back till the fish gets done right, had over 50 fish dinners so, I know what it should be like.

I ordered the new buffalo chicken sandwich, and I went to go park after receiving it. The sandwich was cold! I called to let them know they gave me a cold sandwich and the lady who took my order answer the phone stating it just came out the fryer and that the bun and cheese are supposed to be cold. I’ve worked at restaurants and fast food in the past, and this is unacceptable as well as the lady on the phone having attitude because I told her the bun and cheese were cold as well as the chicken. The buffalo sauce was poured y poured on top instead of coated. I have to drive to circle k to heat my food up that I just payed for.the hosts name was Toni and I made my purchase at 1:05 p.m. on 11/27/23 .

Went through the drive thru and ordered chicken sandwiches which was going to be a 10 minute wait and was asked to pull around to the front. After 15 minutes I went in to check on the order. It had been ready just sitting on the counter. Asked for ketchup and was then informed they were out. Started eating sandwich in the parking lot and it was tough and chewy. Fries were cold. Wife was not happy and went in for refund.

We were waiting for an hour in the drive through, and there were still 4 cars in front of us. We have only seen 2 people get their orders in the time we have been waiting, this should be unacceptable. This “fast food” is not fast so unless you want to spend hours waiting for simple chicken don’t come here.

Only good part was the door dasher. My wife and I both got sick. She missed a day of work and I barely made it. Over priced and missing food. But then there is the getting sick park. We though something was off. I had 1 leg and she had two tenders. Within 45 mins game over. Sent an email to the head office with no response so far. This was on September 11 of 2023. So if you got sick too let them know. 36 plus dollars down the toilet for two meals and I mean down the toilet.

Just moved here thought we would try it never heard of this place before. The chicken was OK one of my pieces was a little under cooked. Ordered two side was told I would have to pay for ranch for my fried okra. But the reason I took the time to write this review is because while we were sitting in there we watched the lady take the ice cover of the soda machine let it hit the dirty floor put ice in the soda machine and put it right back on.

I love golden chick, best chicken. Went May 8th about an hour before close, the lady at the counter wouldn’t let me eat inside “because they were fixing to close” she was rude. She locked the door while I was waiting for my food (45 minutes before close). Two of my tenders were golden chick amazing, the other four were cardboard. They were out of gravy. It’s too bad, hopefully they can get the service at this location figured out.

Not good,I got a stomachache, I order catfish. it taste good at the time.My husband order roasted chicken ,which look grilled. I tasted it was too salty. I think it's to over price .We could have gone to eat at a restaurant instead of this fast food chain. For this we paid $22.00 2 piece chicken combo,3 piece catfish. Me and my family visited Golden Chick in Rock Port a,TX we ordered a lucky 13 , 3 piece chicken, catfish combo, family mash ,family fries ,and Mac and cheese. We waited quite a while for our food. The catfish pieces were smaller than the chicken tenders we ordered. Chicken was dry and buns were burnt.

We had never been to a golden chick. Our area had bushes and chicken express. So we decided to give it a try. Got the sampler and 2 churos. Chicken had a weird texture and no seasoning. Okra was chewy, the fries were sad. the churos were chewy( did not eat). Basically threw my money away. Will avoid this place. It's like the food was sitting under the lamp too long. But they made me pull around. Which is a whole thing too. The drive thru exit is not in their parking lot so you either have to drive down the alley or cross 2 lanes if traffic to cross to lanes if traffic 😡

Horrible experience!! They got order wrong in drive thru even after I specifically asked what was on the sandwich. Lobby doors were all locked. Manager opened door and had an attitude, wanted to argue with me about the order, then she threw the sandwiches at the drive thru teammate. Sandwiches then were cold and didn’t taste right with weird texture. Gross!!

Told the person taking our order through the drive thru that we wanted 2 6 piece chicken tenders combos and she did 1 of those and a kids meal. When we asked about it, they just charged us for a 4 piece chicken tenders which with tax is $7.57 and the kids meal is $5.99 plus tax. So we spent more to have a small drink instead of the bigger drink it should have came with in the first place. I have never had a problem coming here. I would have thought they would have made it alright but now I'm stuck with a drink that will not last me now.

Ordered a 3 chicken with sides and a single side of catfish( 1 piece). I open the box with the fish and see a chunk 1/2 the size of a McD hashbrown and almost as thick. I bite it and it crumbled to dust. All dried up crust and hardly any fish. threw it away. The chicken leg was about the size of an overweight pigeon and the rest wasn't much bigger. Fried okra was almost as chewy as gum, but flavor was kinda ok. Mac and cheese was just nasty. Even if you hate yourself, don't buy that. Total price $16 of disappointment and despair. Service was ok though. EDIT: So reached out just like they asked and received a reply saying the store would reach out to me soon. " I'll take 'Things Golden Chick says, but never follows up on for $100, Alex!" Yep, not a single peep from the chick after that reply. Looks like their feedback on here is all show, no go. Dropped my review down accordingly.

So on the attached menu, a 2 piece combo, should be $9.49 (which by the way is ridiculous). I only wanted water so I was going to get a 2nd side but he was going to charge me extra. That's NOT what the menu says. Still only wanted water but still charged 9.49. What a rip off and false advertising! Won't be back!

After a long day on the water with my children we wanted some chicken. We parked and stepped in, we were told if we wanted food to go around because they had already closed. This was at at 8:50pm

Driving through the area I ordered my food. By the time I was driving out of town by first bite of food I noticed it was extremely spicy!! I decide order spicy I ordered mild even my receipt says mild. I have a embed at ulcer in my stomach so spicy foods can kill me. Do not go to this location! No phone number or contact info on the receipt at all. This isnt just unpleasant but life threatening in my case!!!

Half of my tenders were covered in this spicy seasoning, which I didn't ask for. Also, I asked if I could get some of their signature sauce. She charged me for it, but forgot to put it in my bag. I asked if they put the sauce in the bag, and they had a discussion about why it wasnt in the bag, then gave me the sauce. Also, for one of my sides, I asked for the slaw. When I got home, it had something black floating in it(mold maybe?). I didn't feel good about it so we didn't eat it. Overall, just not satisfied with the food or service. We pay for the food, and its very disappointing when we get a bad meal.

This place has really gone downhill. The chicken thighs were TINY and half the order was wrong--roast chicken instead of fried. No gravy for the mashed potatoes. Single mashed potatoes instead of family. Even the rolls were dry. We won't be back

TERRIBLE ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!! I went in and ordered a 3 pc with dirty rice and a catfish and dirty rice and they had me wait a total of 40 minutes 40 and the front counter lady told me they didn’t have any chicken because it’s been all tenders that day which is fine bunch no chicken takes 40 minutes to fry then when I get my order the fish was literally broken chunks I grabbed my order and yes I stormed out in a fit but then I realized I’m the customer and that they should make it right after numerous insults and being called names I got my order and left I highly would not recommend

This is by far the worst restaurant in Rockport. They are always out of something, or something is always broken. The orders take absolutely forever, and they are somehow always short-staffed. Not to mention, the place isn't very clean, and the food is always so bland. I no longer eat here.

If I could give 0 stars I would. We are here out of town and wanted some chicken. Big mistake I should have listened to the other horrible reviews this place has. We DIDNT EVEN GET THE CHICKEN!!! We had three tiny little pieces of catfish. No flavor. The okra was so old!!! They gave us the last of the burnt dirty rice! It was disgusting not even edible. I would not even bring myself to try it it looked so gross. Mac n cheese watery and edible as well. Corn nuggets old as well. The only thing that was half decent and edible was the dinner roll and barely. Such a huge disappointment. Horrible establishment to even send someone food in that condition. If you didn't have enough food left to give you should have never took the order!!
