The service and food are excellent. This is the first restaurant I went to when I moved to DFW many years ago. It's still as good as I remember.
OMG. The Fajitas are AWESOME 👍👍👍 I only wished for like 2 more flour tortillas. They made it sooooooo GOOD. Definitely be BACK and SOONER than Later for sure 😊😊😊😊. Fernando was a bit busy with Togo but restaurant was Nice and Clean w/ Great atmosphere and feel. Gotta go back for the Margaritas, Cheers to a GREAT 1st experience... Just moved here from Dallas a few months ago. Thank You

My wife and I came here around 6:30 pm on a Friday evening. This was option 2 this evening since we couldn't find parking at our option 1 place. The restaurant was packed and we had to wait which was OK. We come here for lunch frequently so we knew what to expect for food and service. We were seated and our orders were promtly taken and served. The food was good as always. The only mild complaint would be that we had a difficult time conversing with each other due to the noise level. This wasn't surprising and explains why we don't go out very much on Friday or weekend evenings. The place did start to clear out towards the end of our dinner and had a good experience overall.
I come here anytime I get close to Rockwall! The manager here is so kind! Great service always and the food is exactly what it was 20 years ago!! I love the nostalgia I have for this brand and this location hits it out of the park!!

I’ve had literally the hardest 2 weeks ever and really needed my mom. She passed 5 years ago.. so me and my kiddos were hungry and decided let’s go to el Chico for dinner! Just to be close to her.. this was her favorite restaurant. We get there and go inside and it smells like my childhood! All I wanted was the kids Mexican pizza. I was informed that they had changed it and it wasn’t the same… of course I was bummed. But the waitress went and asked the staff how it was cooked and told them I would like the old school pizza..they said I got you and made it for me!!! I am beyond excited and beyond appreciative that they would do that for me. A stranger!! And the food is amazing!!!!
I didn’t realize that El Chico was still around after closing their McKinney and Sherman location. I ventured into Rockwall and was thrilled to find out it was still around. Delicious food! I always used to get the “Tres Banitos” so naturally I ordered this. All of the nostalgic feelings came back and it was just as tasty as I could remember. Generous proportions, and the server I had was very nice and attentive.
Love Mexican food, honestly most Texas Mexican is just not authentic, its same same at best. El Chico is the real deal! I travel 300 days a year and great food is so important. My wife and I sat at the bar and the service was amazing, add to that the best Mexican we have had in a very very long time. The service is first class.
Been coming to El Chico, in numerous locations for years, even decades. Never been disappointed with their food. Great TexMex. Reasonably prices Our server was literally awesome.
It's a very cute place for lunch with a lot of natural light and real trees growing up into skylights. Our server Valaria was great and recommended the Chicken Cascabel tacos. All of the food was good but the chicken cascades tacos were amazing.
This place was good. We used to vibe to this same one when I was a kid. We moved back to town and this was a nostalgia stop. I really didn't think it was going to be as good as it was. The food was hot and delicious. The beers were HUGE! The service was good and the restaurant was light and airy. We had a real good time, and we'll certainly return!

After all these years, it's still the same. We traveled to find an El Chico and I think we found the *best* El Chico. Our service was incredible and the food was delicious and hot. Every aroma, every view, every flavor sent me back to my childhood in the best way. Will definitely make the drive again.
The service was great, the food was even better. Went for an early lunch, food came out quickly. Chips were fresh and food was hot. Did not disappoint.

Went on a date here on a weekday. No wait at prime dinner hours, super fast and kind service. Loved our waitress. Food and drinks came out BLAZING FAST, good food I would skip the cocktail next time and just have a beer. Dessert was the skillet apple pie thing and it was so sweet and caramel-ly. Loved it!
We had my daughter’s baby shower at your Rockwall Texas location. Everything was perfect. The service was terrific and the manager and staff were awesome. We had a blast.
Our home town El Chico closed down and we haven't had their food in a very long time. We had to stop in and have some good food. The service was excellent, hostess got us seated very quickly, our waitress was very attentive to our needs. Chips were fresh and the salsa was great tasting. We had everything from the child's pizza, Chicken enchilada, Burrito to the Chimichangas. Our food was delivered quickly, hot and fresh. You can't go to El Chico without trying our favorite dessert. Hot apple pie with cinnamon ice cream & brandy butter! It's a must try.
The food was fantastic . Wife and I enjoyed the amazing tortillas soup, and fiesta botanas. Layer over layers of flavor blended perfectly. Not only the food and atmosphere were good. We had Mojica served us with all his heart. We can’t wait to stop by again soon. 100% recommend!

I haven’t been to an El Chico in a long time and decided to come here with a friend for dinner. The service was great and our waiter was attentive. I ordered guacamole for the table and it’s prepared in front of you. The guacamole was made nicely but could’ve went with a little less lime. For my entree, I ordered the mama’s favorite enchilada dinner (one beef, one chicken) and it came with rice and beans. It is your typical texmex but I enjoyed it.

Use to eat here as a teenager and young adult. Was excited to see they were still in Rockwall after 20 years living in other states that never had or heard of El Chico. They got rid of the wall fountain and the food was not as good as I had remembered it being. Salsa is watered down, chips were stale and the chicken was dry despite the heavy amount of red sauce they put on it. Definitely wont be going back.
Not the El Chico I remember. Ever since they closed many restaurants the quality of the food has definitely diminished. The service and staff were still great as ever.
If "Mid" was a restaurant, it'd be El Chico. I haven't been here in over 20 years, and it's exactly the same, exactly as "Mid" as it was in 2002. Staff was great though, and you could get far worse Tex-Mex elsewhere. 3 stars feels a bit harsh, but 4 stars is out of the question.
