I had the brisket sandwich with fresh cut fries and Cole slaw. My husband had the sausage sandwich, Mac & cheese, and Cole slaw! I can definitely say it was the best BBQ we've ever had! Great service, great prices, and huge portions of food!
Friendly from the moment we walked through the door. I appreciate that in a business. And on top of that, the food was delicious. Meat seasoned perfectly. The ribs came right off the bone. So tender. And the sauce is superb. Definitely will be coming back next time we stop through.
I just want to give a shout out to the awesome staff at the Goliad location. Jason greeted me and took care of me with a smile when I brought my turkey in to have them smoke it for Christmas Eve. The young ladies on the serving line and cash register were just as happy and made my day better. Oh, and the food is AWESOME!
Simply amazing and delicious food. People here were extremely nice. Best of all this establishment is not afraid to express the Lord Jesus Christ. Many blessings to the family, never stop giving glory to our Lord for others to see. Redeeming the times because of the evil days we live with the signs in this place. Surely I will be back. AAAA++++
Staff was great and friendly, food was amazing they let me sample everything i considered and some first time expierence and i loved it. Place very clean and felt the southern hospitality and love. I would deffinately recommend. Just left today 2/28/17 i got there before they were closing let me eat n relaxe after a long day of driving my truck. They did a great job. I was very satisfied.
I was worried this place was another chain, it is. But the food is great. Chicken, ribs, brisket cooked perfectly. Spicy potatoes and fried cabbage were great and actually spiced. Plus they bus tables.
Been wanting to try these guys, finally made it at a decent hour. Staff was super friendly, as were the other patrons, restaurant was clean and they don't even expect you to clean up after yourself.. I went to toss my plate and the very pleasant kid working the floor told me he had it, there's no trash can in the dining room. =) Food was very good, though I confess texas' best smokehouse is still my #1 when I'm down this way. Hot links were particularly good if you like spicy!
Great food and great service. Its a 50-50 shot these days when dining somewhere whose staff appears to still be in high school that you get quality service. This crew, though young, was a pleasure to share a diner with. Well worth the money spent.
Placed a rather large take away order. Two large boxes later were brought out to the car. You can't find service like that anymore. So much food, and all of it was great. These people care about their food and service.
Lovely food! We got the special to feed 6 people and it was more than enough food for an amazing price! We even had left overs! The BBQ sauce is awesome and the ribs are perfect. I definetly recommend. It's a nice, clean establishment.
Really good chain barbecue. I had the Turkey with okra and country style skillet potatoes for a side. My wife just wanted meat. She got the sliced brisket, she wanted it moist and she really likes fat. The gentleman slicing even gave her extra greasy trimmings. All in all it was really good. Not too smokey. Just right. Only complaint I have was the toast was not good at all. Next time we want barbecue in the area we'll stop again.
Best place in town for a BBQ stuffed potato and their new Boss Hog meal needs to be on menu all year not an LTO. If you have not stopped in to get one you better hurry.
I walked over from the truck stop to stretch my legs. Great food. First time there, very helpful with there section. They offered me to sample there cream of corn and it was good had a good spice to it, but enjoyable. Restroom where clean and the place had a great ambience. And you get Free Ice Cream! They where friendly and helpful. No issues here. I'll come back soon and try the ribs and chicken next.
Their sign says that they don't skimp on the meat. If anything, they are being conservative. We ended up taking home over half of our two meat platters. We also picked up two pounds of smoked ham for Christmas. We had so much leftover that we were able to use the leftover meat for ham biscuits and to flavor our new year's black eyes peas. Like I said, lots of food. Sides are served buffet style. You pick either 1 or 2. The French fries are excellent, the file slaw only good.
Food was great, good service, but a bit slow. Although the girl that checked me out was beautiful, she wasn't friendly. Seemed she wasn't happy to be working. Mostly the folks working there are friendly. Maybe her bf broke up with her?👀
Staff was extremely helpful; actually saved me a bit of money by recommending I order a certain way to reduce price (ribs by rack vs. by pound). Add to that the delicious mac 'n cheese and friggin' awesome meats, and I was very impressed for my first (but definitely not last) visit. Great experience, good job Soulman's!
Serving made me feel familiar with this place, Chicken barbecue Potion more than enough Quality perfect tasty and smoked special mashed potato have taste is amazing natural taste, I recommend all people love barbecue going there is not expensive and is amazing people smile, positive and great hospitality i love this place too much. This place made me feel safe. Thank you a lot
Excellent barbeque with a great variety of sides! My boys love the mac and cheese and my wife can't say enough about awesome the pork ribs are. I love the beans and cabbage and the brisket is some of the best out there. Staff was friendly and efficient and the restaurant was clean. Wonderful place to eat!
I like this location. I have been there during busy times and slow times. I keep going back for the speed of service and consistent value and flavor of the food. Check out the Soulman Bowls ..The Tyler
I was DoorDashing and I had the best customer service! Personally I have never been to this BBQ place but I would go again! Cody the night shift lead/manager was super nice and very welcoming. Overall they had a Great night shift staff! They were all phenomenal. They all greeted me as soon as I came through the doors. They paid attention to the detail of my door dash order. They reminded me of specific things the customer wanted. They were easy going and they made my experience as a dasher easier! Great job and kudos to all the night shift staff that worked on June 27, 2021!
It's been a long time since I went to this BBQ chain. I really like it and the food was really good. I should go more often but it is a little pricey to go all the time. It's great to once in awhile, for Mee anyway. I would go more often if it were a little cheaper. The staff was great. Very helpful.
The smoked ribs and chicken fall off the bone; both are seasoned well! I like the mashed potatoes + green beans and the sweet & spicy corn was delicious! I will definitely eat here if I’m ever in the area again.
Half-a-Chicken and Half-a-Rib-Rack were the base for two meals in this newly remodeled dining room and leftovers at home. Roasted and smoked to superb flavor and tenderness, we could feast on these meats alone, every day of the week. But Wait! The two western style potatoes and pinto bean dishes make it hard not to gorge yourself before you ask for a To-Go box. They allow you to select their homemade Banana Pudding as a side dish. So I did. Oh Wow. That dessert barely made it home - so, so hard to stop when your taste buds scream More! The chef and all the servers are Christian Family Friendly, all the time and generous with words and smiles. The only drawback is the $3.20 price for the large drink. We splurged for Valentines 💝.
Been here 4 times now and was always met with a smile. I like that you can ask for a cut of meat and see them cut it right in front of you, so you know that you are getting what you ordered. I love there sides, especially the stewed cabbage that is spicy. I can do spicy but it does not state that it is spicy, so beware. Just great customer service at this Rockwall location, from the slicers, the cashier and especially the dinning room crew who clean up and kept the pickles and onions fresh. Oh, and nice big clean bathrooms.
I love the brisket and smoked sausage! Plus, the spicy potatoes, ranch house beans, Texas style creamed corn are so good! I'll love to try the hot links and fried cabbage next time. And, there will definitely be a next time! The prices are pretty decent. Check out the Super Chuck Wagon family meal. We love the bowls! And the fried okra!
First time this location. Arrived at opening. Disappointed but not disappointed that a lack of help precluded eating in the dining room. After getting my ersatz son-in-law settled at his place, I took my food home and shared it with my wife. Generous portions a plus. Decent 'cue to boot!
Sarah gave me a warm welcome suggestively sold me menu items and Cody came along and up sold me on the pico pinto beans which were excellent and the Mac and cheese the best ribs I had in my 46 years on this planet...I appreciated the hospitality store 2255 S Goliad even the cleaning lady was nice to me
I ordered some kind of 3 pork sandwich special. & It was good. And they treat you like family. Great hospitality goes a long way with me. Plus they got free soft serve ice cream 🍦.
CJ and Jacob were awesome. Very friendly and welcoming. Love these guys
Great food especially for the price, quality and quantity. The 2 ladies that were working were very helpful, kind and made our first time at Soulman's extra enjoyable. And you get a FREE ice cream cone with purchase of BBQ!!! Thankful for the outstanding service and BBQ. We will be back.
Just great barbecue and a good atmosphere! Hard to beat that...
Great service, the employees were super friendly and accommodating. I was not familiar with the menu as this was my first visit, however the employees helped me out and even let me try a few of the sides so I could become more familiar with the menu. Not to mention there was free ice cream. Overall I had a great visit, I will definitely be returning.
I’ve eaten at several Soulman’s and they all serve up some good smoked meat. I usually get the brisket chopped or sliced. This time I chose sliced. The young man that took my order was very polite and boy can he use a knife. The young lady that cashed me out was also very kind. Both individuals were very attentive. One meat and two sides w/ garlic toast. I really like their slaw. Cold, Crisp and not too sweet. For me if it’s too sweet then you can’t taste the cabbage. Had the home style beans. Spicy! Real nice! Two sauces to choose from. Sweet or Spicy. Spicy is good. Sweet tea! Mmmmmm No deserts today. I’m full.
Very tired from a long day and popped in to have some ribs. Excellent ribs. And just important to me, customer service from Cody and crew. The place has fresh food and good service. It’s also clean. Plenty of parking too!
We often get the double chuckwagon. More than enough food for family of 6. We like that all of the food is prepared on site from scratch. High quality. The only thing i would change is changing the margarine to actual butter.
Amazing BBQ with great service! Tried the BBQ bowl for the first time. Delicious!
The manager of this location was quick to greet us and suggested the loaded pulled pork fries with special BBQ ranch sauce. The food was solid, crisp tasty big fries and the meat waas tender and moist. I really liked the BBQ ranch too. This Soulmans was very clean and well decorated with a classic American & Texan motif. Recommended.
Thank you Bailey and Cody. My two meat plate was perfect. Temperature and taste were FANTASTIC! The staff and Cody are always friendly and smiling. Thank you for treating me so well.
Super good. I don’t even eat meat and I loved it. Incredible selection of sides and sauces. Great service too
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ From the moment I walked into Soul Man’s BBQ in Rockwall, I was overwhelmed—in the best way—by the smell. Absolutely amazing. I was greeted at the front by a wonderful young man who made me feel welcome and even recommended the Monday special. I went with the pulled pork, creamed corn, and green beans, and everything was spot on—flavorful, comforting, and cooked just right. Ironically, I even walked away with a souvenir cup! Great food, great service, and a great experience overall. I will definitely be back.
I think it was Brendan or something he has somewhat blonde hair the guy who cuts the meat. He’s the man the food was great I love bbq and it’s consistent will always come back long as the food is like that. Very professional service.
Awesome young man working at front counter, I think his name was CJ very good customer service friendly satisfying will come again. He has great leadership if he isn't already in that position, since service was so great I will be there again thank you
Trucking through Texas, I'm parked across the street at the TA, and there is no way I'm gonna get Burger King when this Texas bbq place is across the street. I walked over to this restaurant, and even the police that were ticketing a car on their driveway waived to me... that's Texas love. Anyhow, I ordered the bbq rib and pulled pork. My 2 sides were beans and coleslaw. The plate was a little on the pricy side but was very good. Being from California, we don't have many bbq options, so I always try Texas bbq restaurants when I'm in Texas. Will be back again next time I'm in the area.
We visited from Louisiana due to basketball tournament and stopped at this restaurant as it was highly recommended. The food was amazing as me and my husband was throughly impressed and were both picky about BBQ food. We left the next day to go back to Louisiana and ordered more to take with us lol. Amazing food and service. Plus the ribs were to die for!!
I live in the Northeast part of the US and don’t often get the chance to have Good Southern BBQ of any kind and this place was across the street from where I stayed and am I GLAD that I took a little walk!!!!! I was greeted by an AMAZING and Friendly Staff and I ordered the 3 meat platter ( Brisket, Ribs, Sausage) with Mashed Potatoes with Gravy and the Ranch House Beans with a piece of Pecan Pie !!!! The food was ABSOLUTELY OVER THE TOP DELICIOUS and without a doubt the BEST BBQ RESTAURANT I have been to as their Texas BBQ is AMAZING !!!!!! When I am in this area again this place will DEFINITELY be on my list of places to stop at for AMAZING BBQ !!! YOU GUYS ROCK !!!!!!!!
It's been a while since we got to have some Texas BBQ. Neither of us had ever been here, and for a commercial kitchen it was absolutely delicious! We like more of a mom and pop when it comes to BBQ, it's just usually better. This was very good. I had the loaded potato topped with brisket and a side of sausage. She had a build a bowl with Mac and cheese, french fries, brisket and sausage. I would definitely be back. It was real good. We also got a slice of pecan pie and a banana pudding. All very good
Texas BBQ that won't disappoint. I ordered the baked potato with chopped brisket and all the fixings. It comes with butter, cheddar cheese, and sour cream, and it's made to order. There are various options for sides for an added price. Regular and/or spicy BBQ sauce options are available. Also, there's pickle chips, jalapeños, and onions that you can add to your meal by the drink station. The restaurant was clean and the service was fast. Thanks for a great time.
My Spouse & I ate their yesterday for the first time, & it was an out-of-this-world experience, letvme tell you!! They sure know Bar-be-cue!! We parked our Semi Truck across the Street @ The T.A, & walked over. The TA has a Burger King and Starbucks, but we wanted TEXAS-BIG, TEXAS BBQ!! We sure got it! We each ordered the 2 Meat, 2 Side, & 1-drink Lunch and Loved it! Jason, AND his Football so proudly displayed by the Cash Register made a lasting impression! Very good food, fair priced for what you get, & VERY ORGANIZED, HELPFUL, FRIENDLY & FAST Staff as well! You come in for a nice meal; & leave with one "helluva" experience!! The Ambiance, Lighting & Wall decor makes for a KICK-@ZZ time! The interiors & exteriors of the Building were as impeccable as the Crew!!!~Thanks Y'all!~Jeff & Jenna! #TEXAS #GOBIGORGOHOME #TEXASWASYOU #BBQAF #FREESOFTSERVE
Was great food and service. However, the restaurant could have been cleaner. The tables, floor, and drink station needed attention. If the dining area isn't clean, kind makes you wonder what the kitchen looks like🤔
Soulman's is constant and I like it. Anytime I'm in the mood for good BBQ there convenient.
Friendly staff, fresh food granted it was just after opening time. I had a one meat, 2 sides plate with a large drink. Cost was just under $17. Atmosphere felt like a chain. Serve yourself the sides which is kinda nice. Sweet tea was not over the top sweet. Overall decent bbq.
Been here for 15 years and great chow. Breakfast really good too. The other day on ordering family pack the guy said you want moist brisket. I said fine and mistake. Came home and if you chop it up and mix with sauce okay. Not good like sliced brisket I get here. Spicey potatoes and junk beans are great. Make sure you get a container of beans and not juice!! They sometimes just scoop in a when you get home short on beans. For 46 bucks will feed 4 folks no problem!!
***UPDATE*** Increased from 2 stars since management reached out and provided a refund. Minus the issues in original review, the food was good. ***ORIGINAL REVIEW*** Got all the way Home only to find they didn’t include any bbq sauce for our meals. Okra was cold and burnt like it had been over fried hours ago and left out. Hardly any gravy in my mashed potatoes.
Love the food, brisket superb. I wished I would have got a baked potato instead of the two sides but maybe next time. Enjoyed the country music.
Pretty decent ribs and sides. Brisket is iffy, sometimes tough sometimes tender
My husband, our baby girl, and I stopped by Soulman’s BBQ today, and it hit just right. The smell walking in alone was enough to make you forget your manners. The brisket was tender and smoky, the ribs fell right off the bone, and the sides tasted homemade — the kind of comfort food that feels like someone’s grandma was working the kitchen. The staff were friendly and patient (which matters a lot when you’ve got a baby in tow). They made sure we had everything we needed and didn’t rush us. The place was clean, cozy, and had that true Texas BBQ vibe — casual but proud of what they serve. If you’re looking for a spot that feels like a small-town cookout but delivers big flavor, Soulman’s BBQ doesn’t disappoint. We left full, happy, and with a little extra sauce on our sleeves — exactly how BBQ should be.
They had no sweet relish, which I eat on my brisket. Young lady was rude while checking out. My chopped beef was supposed to be ground, but 1/2-2/3in pieces when I got home with my food. Ugh. Usually I am raving about this location. Today not so much.
I ordered one double barrel. The potato was small as the portions were measly for the price I paid. Not to mention the spicy barbecue was not spicy and taste like store-bought. My ingredients consisted of pulled pork, shredded cheese and sour cream. Where is the chives and bacon bits? Side of toast was delicious lol I went on 10/5/23
First time eating here and it smelled amazing. I had been on the road for work and happened to come right after they were opened. I got the pulled pork sandwich combo which came with two sides. They were running a special and it all came to $9.99, including a drink! What a deal. Sandwich was really good, Mac n cheese was nice and creamy but not very hot. The mashed potatoes were lukewarm as well and just flavorless. I would’ve thought everything would be piping hot with them having just opened. Overall, everyone was really nice and maybe it was an off day. I will def give them another try.
The food is good, but I'm not a fan of their brisket. Turkey, sausage, ham, and ribs are good. Sides are small. I ordered a sandwich and fries. They put it in a to go container without asking if I wanted it for here or to go. I didn't much care for that.
Great people there. They say they're not stingy with the meat, but they are stingy. Not much smoke flavor on any of the meats. Chicken was juicy but no flavor. Only good thing is the guy have us extra toast and the potatoes 🥔 was big.
I got two meat plate which consisted of ribs and sliced sausage with two sides which were potato salad and ranch beans. Oh yeah I threw in some mac n cheese. It was mediocre to my taste buds and not anything like that East Texas BBQ I'm used to. The price is too high for the quality of food I received even though the plaques on the wall won awards for best priced foods. I disagree but I guess you city folks love it. It was alright because I was hungry. Now my child's father didn't like his sliced beef and ribs at all. He only ate his baked potato. Wasted $40 today 🙁
I was very, very disappointed this visit. Cashier over charged me for a plate when I order a meat only entree. While I caught this and got it corrected. They are sort of receipt less by default so be cautious. My wife order a 3 meat plate and soft drink. Brisket was dry tough and very over cooked. I ordered a full rack of ribs for $28.99 with a cup of water. That should be at least 12 bones and plenty of meat. When I've ordered this before I normally take a few ribs home. It wasn't nearly enough this visit as several of the bones were very short and there was only 10 bones on my plate. When I brought this situation to the attention of manager, he admitted they had some training issues, but he offered no apology or compensation. If he would have offered me 2 more ribs I would have left a 5 star review and glowing recommendation. However, I left hungry and disappointed. I will not return to this location.
Get a small portion of brisket, leg and a thigh, baked potato and glass of water for $13.99 plus tax. The server started to give me brisket from a freshly cooked brisket, but what I got was something else prepared ahead of time. I received about 10 perfectly sliced from meat a slicer. Slices were about 1/16 inch thick and 3 inches long and 1-1/2 inches high. It was barely enough to make a sandwich, let alone a full dinner serving. I probably got 3 ounces of meat. The brisket was dry. The chicken was not even warm and it looked like it might be from yesterday. The highlight of the meal was a large baked potato.
I really don't understand the success of Soul Man's BBQ. The meat doesn't taste smokey at all, tastes oven baked. It's fine for what it is, but it isn't barbecue. The sides are also fine, but not much variety. This location, the people working there aren't rude, but they aren't particularly friendly, either. Fix your food, ring you up, then disappear. And the manager works the food line without wearing a hat. Other BBQ chains are struggling despite having a wider variety of delicious food, a friendly atmosphere and workers who follow health regulations, while Soul Man's has two busy locations within a couple miles of each other. Good for Soul Man's, less so for barbecue lovers.
I thought Texans knew Bar-B -Que, I'm really surprised to see so many 4 and 5 star ratings! I got the three meat plate with ribs, brisket and pulled pork. Ribs and brisket were dry, very dry w/o much flavor at all. They looked dry before I ordered and I asked the girl if they had been sitting there for a while, to which she replied "No, they just came out." I almost turned around and walked out, but, against my better judgement, trudged on. The pulled pork was OK, again, fairly dry, but not as bad as the others and with a smoky flavor. The sides seemed to be sitting there a while, the fries were just barely warm, but the Texas creamed corn was pretty tasty. The portions were also quite small, I got like three ribs, off the end of a slab that was tapered. Overall, I am 100% positive you could find better (and probably cheaper) BBQ at a more local place as opposed to this franchise joke. I should have known better, you should too!
Bbq was so bland. Line was long. All the sides we had were mid at best. Only good thing was the soft serve ice cream.
Nice store and staff, but pretty disappointed with what I get for $18. Today I got a 2 meat plate with 2 sides. Now they use flat bottom containers and cups for the sides. You should not be able to see the bottom of a container with $13.99 (plus drink) worth of food in it. There was space between the 2 meats before I poured the sauce on.
Had lunch while getting tires next door. The good - they let me substitute an extra side for the drink, complimentary soft serve cone, and it smelled good going in. The bad - the chopped beef bbq had no flavor. It had the color of gray ground beef with no bark bits mixed in. Really, the only flavor was from the pickles I added. Some of the other meats looked better, and would have chosen them if I had seen the chopped beef.
I tried to purchase a gift card to pay for my meal and get the $25 bonus gift card (to give away to someone else, not to use on this visit). I was told that I’m not allowed to purchase a gift card and use it the same day because gift cards can only be used on future visits. I understand not being able to use the bonus card today, but I should be able to purchase a gift card and use it the same day. It’s not written anywhere that you can’t use it the same day but that’s their policy and he stood by it. I know my $100 purchase isn’t going to pay for this establishment. I was actually about to place a holiday catering order because my granddaughter loves their ribs, but who knows what wonky rules, they might come up with regarding catering orders.
Not impressed at all. Purchased the Truckers Special which consisted of ribs with 2 sides. Ribs has a rubbery texture. Mashed potatoes were not homemade. Green beans were okay. Stayed away from the watery looking mac and cheese.
08/05/25 5:35pm Girl at the register made a mistake on the register. Charged me for a half-chicken combo rather than just the chicken. That's fine. She was new and mistakes happen. What wasn't fine was the way the guy with shaved head working the cutting station treated me. I asked for a receipt and the guy at the meat cutter station says in a disrespectful tone,"This is my receipt. I'll give you your receipt" as if i did something wrong. I wasn't asking for the receipt he had in his hands. Just asked for a receipt. I alreadt paid with my card, so naturally i would want to get a receipt to make sure he charged me for the correct amount. Hands me the food with no apology or even a thank you despite me being patient with the price fix. It's as if someone who was mowing grass in prison graduated into working at Soulmans. Kid needs to know what common courtesy is
We were there on July 2nd at about 8pm. There were not many customers, but the service was very slow. It took the girls way too long to make our dishes. They were very disengaged and seemed confused on what to do. The food in the first window looked good but when we sat down to eat we were disappointed. The brisket was not really warm, it was dry and only a bit tasty. It should of had more of a smoky flavor. The side dishes were almost gone. Almost every container at the counter was empty and what was in there looked old, crusty and dried up. We asked about getting more freshly made but they said it would take a long time. The comments from others at our table were about the same, not warm to cold food, bland, not good. The ice tea they gave us was very weak. When I asked why it was so weak the girl behind the counter said it was old. I asked if they had fresh tea and she said yes and went and got another jug. Since she knew the tea was old and weak she should have got new fresh tea without having to be asked. They were also out if napkins. How does a restaurant run out of napkins? The restaurant looked dirty as well. Floors, walls, ceilings looked nasty. The cold air return vents in the ceiling were heavily coated with dirt like they had never been cleaned since this place opened up. We will definitely never come back to this location.
My husband and I ordered a pull pork and a shredded beef sandwich. Neither had any taste. The sauce tasted minimally like bar b que sauce. The buns were small. We won't be back.
Went there for lunch spend $22 and left hungry, I had 2 meat plate but the ribs and the chicken were very very small , never come back here again 👎
Always a great experience but today there was what looked like maybe district managers or something..2 men there and for the first time ever in years I left hungry due to the small servings of food I was given. I stop through there every week on my way back from St Louis Missouri. Very sad and awkward experience. A young man giving orders to the local employees and thinks he's a big shot but does not know the clientele or how to discern his customers. I say leave them alone they have had years of success probably before you were even born ! I wanted to say something in person but didn't want to cause a scene or make things even more Awkward
Folks, this is NOT Texas BBQ Their meats are dry as a bone, unseasoned. One note BBQ sauce and the sides taste like leftovers from last week. They boil the potatoes out of the tater salad. Tast like mustard flavor water mush. The old man (owner) told me off when I complained. Please pray they shut down soon.
I gave Soulman’s Barbecue a chance despite hearing negative things locally, and now I fully understand why the reviews were bad. I ordered through DoorDash, and my experience was extremely disappointing. First, several items were missing from my order no bread, no jalapeños, no pickles. The meat was tough and overcooked, while the chicken was undercooked and still had blood in it, which is completely unacceptable and unsafe. The potatoes were stale and tasted like they’d been sitting out for hours. This was a waste of money and a huge letdown. I will never order from here again. Soulman’s clearly does not care about quality or customer satisfaction. I paid over $40 for missing items and mediocre food! Avoid!!!!
Door dashed the 3 meat plate with mac cheese, bbq beans...pecan pie. This was insane...cost me $45 ...so I thought this is gonna be great.....wrong Turkey tasted like walmart deli meat turkey. Sausage and hotlinks was literally flavor less. Pecan pie...burnt ,the filling was almost solid Never again
Worst beans ever. Just wanted normal baked beans not whatever these are. Pork was tough & tasteless. Potato salad in my opinion shouldn’t be the texture of mashed potatoes with a little mustard added in. Coleslaw was ok. I don’t plan to be back. I don’t think this is a bad night situation but more of a situation in which I don’t like their version of bbq & especially the sides.
I recently ordered food online for delivery, and unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. The food, across the board, lacked flavor and was far from delicious. The brisket, in particular, was the worst I've ever had, completely missing the rich, smoky taste I expect. We specifically requested BBQ sauce with our order, but it was not provided. Even the side of beans and fried Okra were letdown; beans were watery and bland, offering no real taste.
The frontage road location is as always, exceptional. This location on 205 used to be the same, but it has gone downhill. Tables always need to be bused, flies are rampant and the other day, the meat was cold, the okra they were serving was burned. When we tried to talk to staff about it, they were all in the back laughing. Went to register and yelled "Hello , no one came. Had to bang on the metal counter and yell to get the three to come out of the back. When we told them about the discrepancies, the female insisted the meat was not cold. I guess she thought we weren't hungry and just liked to complain? I told them we had been coming here for years and even used them for catering and what they were putting out, was NOT the standard the other locations put out. We ended up with a refund and will never go to this location again. Will also report them to health department. Sad.
