I’ve dined here for 10 years. I have never been disappointed with Rothman’s in any way. Over the years I can proudly say that I have eaten every item on the menu. From the moment you walk in the door everyone is friendly and helpful. I’m disabled and they always accommodate me and my party. Words cant say how amazing the food is. And his restaurant is a must experience for service and food.

Hands down the best steakhouse on Long Island - no question about it. Sunday brunch is on another level as well.

THIS IS BY FAR THE MOST AWESOME RESTAURANT ON LONG ISLAND. Excellent service and freshly prepared food…This is also a perfect venue to have a party with charming private rooms. Benoit is incredible…and cares so much treating each patron as if family members of the Rothman’s.Highly recommend.

This brunch was out of this world. The buffet had everything you could want from sushi to prime rib. They also had an amazing display of salads, breads, and desserts. There was even an unlimited drink package we didn't know about until we go there. The only suggestion I would have is to label the different items, because it did get confusing at times - sure bacon is bacon but is this tuna sushi or crab?

Went on a Sunday for their brunch. For $69 it is SO worth it. High end meats, crab and lobster tails or whole lobsters. Along with omelet station, pancakes and waffles. Also, a salad, sushi, bagel and dessert bar. You have a 2 hour limit to be there but while you're there EAT. We left stuffed and we'll taken care of. Just because it's buffet style they don't drop the ball on service. If you have a special occasion you can come here. We saw a few birthday parties. It was delicious!

Rothmann’s Steakhouse offers the perfect combination of a classic steakhouse environment with an inviting, casual touch. The ambiance is elegant yet relaxed, making it ideal for any occasion. The food is absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked steaks and an impressive menu that delivers every time. Prices are wonderful for the quality you receive, and the staff is attentive, friendly, and professional. Whether for a special celebration or a casual dinner, Rothmann’s always provides an exceptional dining experience. Highly recommend!

Truly enjoyed our steak dinner at Rothman's Steakhouse. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by two young ladies who were happy to seat us despite being a few minutes early for our reservations. When we got to our table, we were given two extensive menus of all possible drinks from around the world. After we selected both our wine and bourbon drinks, we ordered our dinner. As we waited, we admired the old photographs placed on the walls and the beautifully dimmed decored room. Steaks (Asian marinated), garlic mash potatoes and spinach sides were amazing. Seasoned and cooked to perfection. We will definitely be returning.

My Fiancé and I had dinner at your establishment last night. From the moment we pulled up we were impressed. This was our first visit. We were greeted by two doors over 6ft tall to the entrance. Once we entered we were greeted by an amazing and warming ambiance. Our server was comical and made us laugh while still remaining so professional. Our food was flawless. The appetizers came out promptly and were so good. Our entrées were the perfect temperature and cooked exactly as ordered. The taste was...let's just say the salt and pepper never moved on our table...cooked to perfection. Desert was also done well. This was the perfect way to spend my birthday. We look forward to our next visit.

Once frequented by the only President from Long Island, and formerly know as Burt Bacharach"s, today Rothman's Steak House is a long time favorite now occupying this historic tavern restaurant. They serve lunch, dinner, and brunch. The steaks served here are excellent as is the Sunday brunch. The menu is classic steakhouse and does bring your appetite. The brunch is delicious and a great mix of breakfast items as well as entrees. Be perfect for Father's Day but call ahead and make a reservation as this is a favorite restaurant.

My wife and I have been dining at Rothmann’s Steakhouse for years, and it never disappoints. The food is always amazing and consistently top-notch. The service is warm, friendly, and welcoming, which adds to the overall experience. During our most recent visit, the manager checked on us twice to ensure we were enjoying our meal and satisfied, which made us feel truly valued as guests. The combination of incredible food, great atmosphere, and attentive service keeps us coming back. Rothmann’s always makes dining there a special experience!

We recently hosted a private party at Rothmann's and it was absolutely fantastic - thanks in large part to the incredible efforts of the manager, Benoit! Thank you for making this occasion perfect! We will be back!

They have some of the best steaks I've ever eaten. Its a great place for a date or celebration. Its not cheap, expect to pay at least $75 a person unless you only eat the cheapest appetizers. The most recent time I was here I had the $200 Japanese kobe strip steak and it melted in my mouth. They also do a great job at wine pairing. They have half bottles of wine so each person can have their own if you want more then a glass but not a full bottle. The dress code here is from business casual to full formal. Just don't come here dress like it's apples bees or you will not fit in (and might be asked to leave). Get a steak when you come here, but honestly everything taste great.

The best brunch spot I ever been to. Very professional staff, and very hard working staff. The food was great. The selection was phenomenal. The desserts was also very delicious. It's worth $59.99 definitely have to go back and do it again. It's a whole lot more thats there.

Came here with my sisters for my birthday. From start to finish they treated us like royalty. Dom & Craig were amazing. With amazing suggestions and perfect recommendation, the food was as good as it gets. We started with a seafood platter with samples of a little bit of everything. The most succulent fruits of the sea. The sweet chilli calamari was the best I have had. The main course was no other then their famous Ribeye. It was more epic then it looked. We finished off there in-house cheesecake. It’s been 2 days and I still haven’t eaten, I’m So stuffed. Kidding aside, if you can make it here. Don’t think twice. Once in a lifetime experience.

I haven’t been here for brunch in a while since before Covid. I have to tell you it’s better than it was before! Best brunch buffet very upscale very organized very safe. Absolutely everything and anything you could want for breakfast or lunch or you can eat bottomless coffee and a complementary drink included with the brunch the service was incredible even the servers making the omelettes and waffles were accommodating. I can’t recommend this enough I took my fiancé for his birthday just a little while ago I felt I needed to leave this review. The price tag is a little high don’t let it scare you, you are getting far more than the money you’re paying. It won’t let me add my video but here are some pics.

The Sunday Buffet was magnificent! Like being at the Winn Hotel in Las Vegas, it was that good and even better because of the fresh lobsters! If you have a good appetite this is the place to go on Sunday afternoon. You will be pleasantly surprised at the layout of food and desserts. Fresh lobsters, oysters, clams, shrimp, steak, chicken francaise, eggs, lox, whitefish, pancakes, waffles, blintz, etc, etc. So much and all so good...

I loved this place. The food and service was beyond exceptional. The steaks were cooked beautifully and the staff was very friendly and helpful with helping us make our food choices. The signature autumn cocktails were also amazing. The seafood appetizers that we had were great! The main course was outstanding. I'd definitely recommend this place if you want top quality steak and service. The desserts were also delicious as well.

Four people ordered steaks. One loved the ribeye steak and is looking forward to going back. Two had American Wagyu strip steak which they stated were under seasoned and over cooked. The filet mignon was perfect as was the Scottish salmon. Waitstaff and ambience were amazing. Excellent whiskey choices and my favorite, a dirty martini was spectacular.

This is the old fashioned steak house I remember. Not stuffy, but rather elegant. There was a party going on beyond the bar and the bar was crowded. We made online reservations and only waited 15 minutes when we arrived. There is valet parking available. We were seated in the dining area so it was quieter. They had a musician playing on keyboards by bar area which was nice. We tried out the Summer Menu which was fixed priced. The food was spectacular, raw oysters, surf & turf, filet mignon. The desserts were delicious. My daughter ordered the Wagu Steak but she was not fond of the seasoning. I thought it was delicious. This place is worth the trip and I will definitely visit again.

Terrific old school steak house. The food was terrific, service (ask for Alex) was fantastic, and the price was less than expected. I had the 12oz filet mignon and cream spinach, my wife had the salmon with brussel sprouts. Absolutely terrific. One of the cool things about this place, I guess depending on where you sit, you can see the wine cellar and the ridiculous amount of different wines they have. It is cool. Dessert was amazing. I got banana cream tart, my wife had the apple crumb cup (or something like that). This was the greatest thing ever done with a banana. Go just for that.

Ok, this is the third consecutive year that my wife and daughters took me to Rothmann’s Steakhouse for Fathers’ day. I always have the same experience, FANTASTIC! The food is delicious and made with care, the presentation is unbelievable, and is in abundance for the brunch. It is always clean, and servers and hosts are amazing! It tends to get crowded on a day like today but comes in waves, so servers are around, but keep your eyes peeled. I have everything positive to say about this place, and nothing negative. Very Highly recommend.

The event was my wife’s birthday and our reservation was at 5:30. Parking was excellent, and the staff made us felt like we have been coming to the restaurant for decades. The server “Dominic” (Apologies if I misspelt it) was really nice, a great sense of humor and gave great recommendations. We had some appetizers, Tomato and Onion, Foie gras and Market oysters and I must say everything tased great. Our main course consisted of the porterhouse (Classic) for two and the New York strip and hands down it was the best steak we have ever had. My wife truly enjoyed her birthday meal.

Amazing service, food, and atmosphere! We came to celebrate a birthday and can’t wait to go back. They had a special spicy tuna and salmon sashimi roll appetizer-which is perfect if you love both salmon and tuna and love spicy mayo with eel sauce. All the sashimi was fresh and tender. We also got the apple wood smoked slab bacon- it came with 3 huge pieces and was the perfect balance of smoky and sweet. We ordered the tomahawk rib for two as our main- it was cooked perfectly and so juicy. We got the truffle fries and sweet potato mash as sides-both were delicious, but the truffle fries were our favorite! You have to get the crème brûlée for dessert-one of the best we’ve had in a while. The food came out relatively quick and the staff were so friendly, as well as attentive!

The steakhouse located inside a historical building. The setting is very very steakhouse. Wines are a little on the pricy side. But the food , the 3 course meal is a deal cannot be missed . Steak all cook as expected. This restaurant is always packed with locals and regulars . A must try if you are near by .

Outstanding Steakhouse. Great service. Ricardo and Orlando were top shelf. Very nice decor and the food was absolutely delicious. The Tomahawk Steak was full of flavor and cooked perfectly, the cream spinach was the best I have ever tasted and the bacon was off the charts good. The cheese cake was also one of of the best as well. I am certainly coming back to this wonderful establishment soon!

First time visiting here & it was excellent. We frequent high end restaurants weekly, and this place is top notch. Service was excellent, with staff checking in on us more times than I can remember without being overwhelming. The food is high quality, only thing I could critique is the fact that the asparagus didn’t have any charring like a traditional steakhouse. Premium steaks with excellent flavor, exceptional dessert & great seafood variety. I look forward to my next visit here.

This is the single best Sunday Brunch Buffet money can buy, short of being in Vegas. It is worth going out of your way just to enjoy this buffet. It is excellent for special family and friends events. When we visit the area, this is a must-do if we have the opportunity and if they have the availability (which could be a challenge if you don't plan ahead).

The first time being here after years of driving by, absolutely amazing. Came here for my mom’s birthday with my fiance(he’s been here before) and everything was delicious, serviced by Dominick & Alex… amazing amazing amazing!! Not only were these two guys professional but also were able to joke around and have friendly conversation. The lobster and shrimp bisque was delish, Dom had the bisque split in half since he knew my mom and I were splitting it-no fights from us there! The baked clams appetizer was good, impressed by the size of the clam itself but not much to rave about, it did satisfy and get the job done. My fiance got the filet as is, mom got filet with Gorgonzola, and I got the filet with truffle butter. My taste buds loved ALL THREE. Asparagus as a side so thick and crunchy, creamed spinach was mouth watering. What a wonderful experience here tonight, the food was wonderful & cooked to perfection! Seriously if you can ask for Dominick and Alex as your servers…you will NOT be disappointed. (My fiance who has been here before unlike my mom and I also agrees that Alex and Dom were one of the best he’s ever had) Thank you for making my mom feel special and thank you for such a lovely experience especially as a first timer leaving with full satisfied bellies from everyone.

Rothmann’s is a classic Long Island steakhouse done right. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels upscale but comfortable—perfect for a special occasion or a great night out. The steaks are outstanding: perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, and high quality. The sides are just as memorable (the creamed spinach and potatoes are must-haves), and the portions are generous. Everything comes out hot and timed well. Service was attentive, professional, and knowledgeable without being overbearing. You really feel taken care of from start to finish. The wine list is extensive and pairs beautifully with the menu. Consistently excellent food, service, and ambiance. A true staple for anyone looking for a top-tier steakhouse experience on Long Island. Highly recommend.

Party of 9 celebrating my son's 21st Birthday!🎉 We made reservations and came on time, was seated immediately and was greeted by our waiter who handed us our menus and checked-in on us periodically to make sure we were taken care of and our orders were placed in a timely manner. Our dishes were presented well, had good temperature and quite tasty Our desserts also were tasty and brought out quickly, all very pretty... EXCEPT the ice cream... Shockingly it was. Scoop in a bowl 😆 NO fruit, NO mint, NO garnish NO nothing, jus ice cream inna bowl!...haha... But the espresso was delish so that made up for the scoop of ice cream. We'd probably come out during spring summer to enjoy a brighter evening. Unfortunately with the dinner price fix, Arlin (our server) told me that My FOODIE-CARD was NOT accepted, so I was unable to receive my 10% discount, that sucked as our bill was over $750. But whatcha gonna do?.... Such is life. We had a fun time anyways. I look forward to our next dining experience at Rothermans 🙂

You don't need to go into NYC to find a good steakhouse. Rothmann got everything you need without the tourists. This old school steakhouse should be a favorite for any true meateater on Long Island. Great for birthday celebrations, business dinners and end of tax season parties, it's worth the trip.

Incredible brunch experience at Rothmann's Steakhouse. Fresh lobsters seared in half, oysters, shrimp, crab legs, omelette bar, pancakes, waffles, home fries, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage. There was a carving station with different types of steak. Fresh bagels with different types of lox. Incredible dessert spread with a chocolate fountain. Hot coffee and cappuccino , and brunch comes with a alcoholic beverage as well. Incredible food and service for the price, great value.

Really liked the atmosphere here, the equestrian accents paired well with an overall traditional steakhouse vibe. Baked clams were great along with an excellent dirty martini (Gorgonzola stuffed olives big +). We ordered the porterhouse for 2, which was good, however, at this price point I would recommend an alternative for a steak. I will absolutely be back, will try another cut next time.

Well my wife birthday and first mothers day as she is a new mom. I wanted to take her to a high end place and I picked Rothmanns steakhouse. We had a nice time. Went to try their Sunday Brunch. Food was definitely as advertised, endless oysters, clams, lobsters, smoked salmon, roast beef, skirt steak. They also had warm breakfast options such as waffles and French toast. Although there were many options not everything tasted amazing. The lobsters were cold not nice and hot with butter, French toast was quite dry. For the sushi bar, their website listed “Assorted Sushi, Rolls & Sashimi”, the actual options were very limited. No sashimi or nigiri, only rolls. The roll choices were not that great, imitation crab, California, and plain asparagus… We enjoyed the roast beef, grilled skirt steak, oysters (lots of shell bits but still fresh), and the chocolate fountain. Overall it was a nice experience, free cocktail was great. Coffee is available upon request.

Went here for an office holiday party. Overall, the food was very good. I will say the wait staff was rather aloof and very easily disturbed. If you asked for something, you got a rather rude response. This happened when we wanted more pre fix menues as only one was offered for the entire table. We also got some attitude when one member of our group wanted a larger glass for soda and was refused, but got two small soda glasses instead. Later he was refused an additional drink. This kind of service was not expected given the prices charged and the reputation of this place. For this reason, I would not recommend this for a larger group. The food was good. It was the service attitude left a lot to be desired at our two tables.

T
Thomas McDermott

What a great upscale steakhouse. The atmosphere is very classy (e.g., valet service, beautiful architecture, trendy bar area, classy restaurant seating and properly dressed wait staff). There are a ton of drink options including wine and spirits with detailed menus separate from the food. Dinner menu is typical of a steakhouse with the addition of sushi. We were waited on by two waiters that were definitely tending to our needs but not very informed on our questions; they were ill informed about the oysters and the specials for the night. The food and drinks were good, but it was nothing incredible. Sushi was fresh, oysters were ice cold and nicely shucked, but the steak and salmon dishes seemed below par considering the pricing. I would definitely return to try different food and drink items.

D
Deanna Paff

The service here was great! I was running a little late to my reservation and the hostess that answered the phone was very kind and reassuring. I would give 5 stars to the staff alone. The food was very good. Since it is an up scale establishment (and it absolutely shows) the food just didn't hit the mark for me and my husband. I do recommend the truffle fries (extra crispy) and the bacon!

C
Cindy

The atmosphere was incredible. The service was top notch, our server was Will and he was incredibly helpful. The lobster bisque was 5/5, the skirt steak was delicious but the sides were very bland. My biggest gripe was them not having a bathroom with a baby changing table. It’s 2024, families go out to dinner and having a changing table or a family bathroom should be a no brainer. That was a disappointment and an inconvenience.

A
Anthony Joseph

Food was very good - just a little pricey - service could have been better - we had a few waiters, the first one we had was not great and after he took our drink order disappeared anyway which was confusing besides that it was a decent experience. Make sure you save up a decent amount of money before you go to dinner with drinks it adds up quick - also key lime pie had too much crust.

S
Sandy

Thought the food was ok. Had higher expectations given the reviews, the pictures, and the value but was slightly disappointed. Our steak looked burnt on the outside, and it was cooked consistently. 2 people wanted theirs well done and 3 of us wanted medium rare. Our meats all came out different - we mostly ordered the same two steak. Some of our meat was overly dry, one was essentially rare, and then the 2 who wanted well got theirs like medium rare. A bit confused by the standard. Overall, the service was nice though. The creme brûlée was also good, though sweet. The Brussels sprouts were a bit dry with no flavor so was also disappointed. I think this place wasn’t too bad, but would probably prefer a different place next time

Neither of us had been to Rothmans steakhouse in a while so we decided to give it a try again. The valet parking was convenient first pulling up. We had reservations and we were a few minutes late but we were seated immediately. The place was packed. The seats and tables are very close to each other and it was very loud. Eventually you adjust to the noise but it makes it a bit hard to hear. We ordered the burrata mozzarella appetizer which was very good. I ordered the filet mignon cooked "Pittsburgh" (black and blue) but it came cooked medium well instead. I had to send it back as I can't eat meat overcooked. My friend ordered the bone in rib eye medium but came medium rare. The flavor was good. We also ordered 2 sides which were creamed spinach and mashed sweet potatos with pecans, both of which were good. The manager was very friendly and came by to check on us quite a few times, and when he realized the issues we had with our steaks being cooked incorrectly he was kind enough to comp our desserts! We had the creme brulee which is a classic and was good. We also had the apple tart with vanilla ice cream which was good also. After our dinner we had a drink at the bar which is very pretty and the bartenders were very nice. All in all it was a nice night 🌙 ✨️ 😌

I went for the Sunday brunch. There's a lot of variety. My choices from the extensive offerings were delicious. The shellfish was fresh. The meat was cooked for the various "doneness" tastes. The salads and sides complemented the main courses. There was even a wonderful chocolate mousse among the desserts. But the library room was a bit noisy and it was hard to have a conversation among the eight of us surrounding a large round table

Great place to relax and have a premium dinner w friends, family or business purpose. Numerous amounts of selections! Ordered filet mignon medium well which was good but better as medium rare. Truffle fries were good but not strongly recommended.

We had our annual steak holiday dinner for a party ofn5 4, and it was the first time I’ve been to Rothmann’s. The hostess was friendly and sat us as soon as our table was ready. We had two servers going back and forth between us. They were friendly enough but as the night went on they came by less and less to check on us. We had the bone-in ribeye for 2 and the porterhouse for 2. We preferred the porterhouse over the ribeye. The appetizers we chose included raw oysters and the maple glazed bacon. The oysters were very fresh and the bacon has good flavor. For dessert we tried the salted caramel, crème brûlée, and the cheesecake. All were pretty good. Overall it was a good meal and I would return here again in the future.

Food was very good some stuff wasn't just order what you would eat at stakehouse the lobster is really good and the bacon was amazing. The wine guy was with us for to long was my only complaint to long to get a waiter :)

I went with my son and a bunch of his friends for brunch. The main food was very good. Skirt steak, chilled lobsters, Ousters, Clams, shrimp cocktail, waffles, eggs Benedict, and a lot of just OK fillers but that is to be expected. Although our server was efficient he would not crack a smile and had a personality of a slug. Nice guy but Not very welcoming. I’m not much of a brunch guy but overall it was decent. If it wasn’t for the waiters personality I would’ve given it four stars. A smile it goes a long way

Steak was excellent, even though we waited 40 minutes to get our meal. The gave me the wrong steak. Creamed spinach was horrible. The manager Chris did an adjustment on our bill. I have to say I was disappointed on the whole experience.

I think that the looks of the place make it over welming. After looking at everything I walked to my table on way I had a strawberry on a stick nice .now for for choices shrimp were medium at best that were defrosted as needed and pre cleaned. The lobster were chewy. Also by the time it was time for dessert the area where the sections was was now completely empty. We had a 130/330 reservation. Also went to restroom washed my hands no towels. Told the guy at front desk and he quickly senn one his worker the remedy this . His job is to know this before we the paying CUSTOMER tells him.

Been here twice. On a non busy weeknight service and food was stupendous. Great attention, food cooked perfectly. On a weekend night when it's packed the food was mediocre. Service was subpar and after a while we were simply ignored. Waited a solid 30mins for the check (despite asking multiple times for it). I even thought about getting up and walking out to see if anyone would notice to bring us the check. For the prices they charge, they really ought to do better. Stay away on weekends.

Unfortunately, the only word that came to mind this trip was bland. For the most part, the service was decent, and the atmosphere is like any other steakhouse. Where it falls flat is the food. My family came for the three course sixty dollar special they hold Sunday to Wednesday. For an appetizer, I ordered the Lobster Bisque (costing an additional five dollars to the special). For some reason, it came with a small piece of bread the size of a walnut on top. The soup was more or less boring in flavor and came with a spoon that was way too large for a bowl the size it was. It had chunks of lobster in the bottom that did not seem to add anything to mix up the flavor or experience. As for my main, my grandfather and I split the tomahawk steak (costing an additional ten dollars to the special), it was definitely of a good size for two people to eat but it was just as flavorful as the lobster, lacking in something in the worst of ways. Speaking of lacking their house, sauce was very bland. It tasted like it wanted to be a steak sauce but just missed by a mile. A discount Peter Luger sauce if you will. My side consisted of the thickest cream spinach I've ever eaten. Flavor wise, it was fine, but consistency was not something I would want ever again. The desert was the only place I could say was a good experience. Although served in a giant bowl, the lemon sorbet was actually good. The one saving grace about my meal. Overall, I'm not entirely sure why this place was as packed as it was. The food was mediocre, and the environment just lacked anything really great. I probably won't be returning here and would find another steakhouse personally.

With co-workers we chose Monday since suppose to be quiet but still little busy If I start from appetizers I will said octopus and Mac and cheese were so good I am not fans and how they do the applewood bacon but is ok . They have a very diverse half bottle of wine. Porter house that we chose was very outstanding with Coked flavor and right on expectations. For some reason they didn’t have creamy spinach what’s make the week point . Alternative we request grill mushrooms and for my taste over cooked or over seasoned.(I respect their style ) I end the night with a Crème Brùlèe dessert , flavor was so good , well caramelizadle but the texture little liquid in mine non professional opinion Place has not atmosphere (owners or manager don’t show their face ) Good steak house and great drinks

The food was good but not amazing. The service was lacking a bit. There are better steakhouse options at this price range.

Thought quite a bit about this rating before actually writing the review. Let me come right out and say the food itself was great, no complaints there. My issue in particular is the pricing pr displaying of pricing for the Tomahawk. The Tomahawk is about $150 minimum which is perfectly find but on the dinner menu as well as the a la carte menu, its written as 75 per person. This HAS to be some kind of predatory thing and I think its kind of shameful really. Update the menu to reflect the true pricing of the items and stop baiting people into something you know they'll go for where the price isn't accurate.

Brunch at Rothmans was disappointing to say the least.Hard to imagine that you could cook lobster so long that it required steak knife to cut !! Basically like they served tasteless shoe leather !! Clams and Oysters were good. The Skirt Steak was OK as well as the creamed spinach. Deserts looked better than they tasted. It was difficult to go to the mens room because it was so filthy !! This is a sign of poor management !! Even McDonald trains staff to check and clean the restrooms !!

The steak we ordered was perfectly cooked and the sides and appetizers were stellar, however our servers we horrible. It took 10 minutes just for them to come to our table and it took 10 minutes just for our drinks to come and 2 drinks were missing. The server was yelling across the table asking us what we want to order like we are deaf. At least the food come quickly and it was worth it. The servers didn't really seem like they wanted to be there.

The service was great and the people were great but the steaks were all over cooked for all of us and when you get anything cooked to a medium or above, overcooked is not a good thing and will ruin the experience of the meat. The apps were all pretty good. The ambience is fantastic and the place is quite large. The quality of the steaks is hard to tell bc ours was too well done. I would give them another shot bc the ambiance and service was good, but Idk, should I?

Pretty underwhelming Sunday brunch for $70. Not much variety. They ran out of prime rib as well. Lobster was very fresh and skirt steak was tasty. Sushi options and other breakfast options were laughable.

A little sad here. I waited to write a review to give this place another shot. Anyone can have an off day. Last 2 times we’ve dined here, the food came out under or over cooked, and even the Creme Brûlée showed signs of being thawed out recently. This time I will also add an inattentive server to make matters worse. The skirt steak game out borderline rare , and the porterhouse was rare on the outer portions, when it was ordered medium. The filet mignon was ordered medium and came out rare. So sad, their special used to be a great deal. I will give it one more shot and give Sb updates on this review.

Well, let me just say the Sunday brunch sucked. Everything was bland and very unorganized. Definitely not worth the $70 per person.

Rothmann's definitely has a nice atmosphere, although the bar scene is usually packed, which makes sitting down for a small meal and a drink a waiting game where you have to uncomfortably "lurk" ready to pounce for a seat. I recently, went to the restaurant and opted to get a table instead, since I was not in the mood to wait for a bar seat with my friends. I decided to order the $70 New York Strip steak cooked medium. Unfortunately, the steak had no taste whatsoever, and seemed as though someone had purchased a supermarket steak, and cooked it straight from the packaging with no seasoning or preparation. I thought of complaining at the time, but I was not in the mood for aggravation after a long day of work. My favorite part of the meal was the bread that was placed in the center of the table, which does not say much for the restaurant. If you are going to charge top dollar for steaks you should ensure that they exceed all expectations, not make the diner feel that he or she could have done a better job of cooking the meal. I actually stopped at Wendy's on the way home as the meal left me unsatisfied and I found the hamburger there was much better than the steak at Rothmann's.

Being a fan of steakhouse around America always offering great service. Rothmann's which has been in busy forever definitely lacks quality service. In addition, way overpriced. I ordered the Kung Pao Calamari with ,Asian sweet chili, and peanuts, good but nothing exceptional. Also the Roasted Pear, Salad arugula, frisée, goat cheese, candied pecans, and pomegranate-cranberry vinaigrette, just fair. My tried the Chas. Kobe Burger ,12oz Kobe blend with bacon, cheddar cheese, truffle fries. Also just ok and definitely not worth the $ 26 price.

Really good service in this place. The staff was super helpful and friendly, but I wish I could say I was as happy with the food. If I had gone to Boulder creek or outback steak house and gotten the meal that I got in this place I probably would have been happy with it, but when you are trying to pass yourself off as an upper tier steak house you cannot charge 70/ person for a steak and serve a grizzly, chewy steak. We ordered the porterhouse with creamed spinach and Brussel sprouts as sides. The steak was chewy with very little flavor, but the sides were ok. They also poured a nice drink, but I just can't get past the steak. I really wouldn't recommend this place

I personally liked this place, however someone sadly got sick who was in my party last night with food poisoning with sushi, and the food could have had better flavor, it was also a little pricy, 100$ for a bone in ribeye which looked 14 ounces. But the service was good and the place looked nice. If the person didn’t get sick I would give 4/5 stars but I do have to dock significantly since I’ve known these people for decades and they never get sick from food.

Disappointing to say the least. Chose this place for my birthday dinner after extensive research just to receive subpar everything. The food was not good, the service was worse. I tried to fix this privately with them by sending them an email on my HORRIFIC experience and didn’t even get a response back. If you’re a large party needing a late reservation do not go here, and if you are a diverse group of people, do not go here. This is the worst steakhouse on Long Island, and I’ve been to many. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Also gives funeral home vibes.

This place has really declined...in food quality and service. Steaks not cooked to temperature, and lobster arrived cold. Servers asking the customers who ordered what.....Mashed potatoes watery, and cream of spinach had unusual seasoning. Attended dinner on a Sunday evening. Plus no valet. Won't be returning.

I was hoping for memorable dinner to celebrate my son's Graduation of Law School. Instead we had one of the worst porterhouse steaks I have ever experienced. No, seasoning, tough, nerves, and a taste from the aging that made it taste rotten. Crab cakes were good, everything else was mediocre at best. The room was cold, it was a damp night, other diners had their jackets on. Service was prompt. So disappointed.....

Unfortunately just a horrible experience and will never be back. Table for 5, sat us in a booth where 5th guest had to sit in a chair in corner. Filet mignon was cold, tomahawk steak very fatty and octopus was disgusing. Waiter kept saying he’s busy and kept running around and forgetting our drinks. Very disappointed overall!!

First time at this location, service was awesome. Ask the waitress what would he recommend ,what is the commonly sold plate? He stated the tomahawk porterhouse for two. We went with it ask for medium and the thing was cooked medium rare and the taste was so, it tasted disgusting. I have never tasted the steak that bad had no salt. No pepper tasted like straight up COW, was so disappointed to pay $300+ for a steak that took one bite and almost puked

Pulled into the parking lot not expecting valet parking, but was pleasantly suprised how quick and easy it was. Walked in and we were seated relatively quickly. Me and my girlfriend ordered crab cake appetizers, and overall they were pretty good. But the server was overall rushing us to order our food, even though it was our first time eating there. So we did order I ordered the center cut filet, and my girlfriend ordered the petite filet. It took its time getting out to us, which was a little annoying. And then once our dishes came out it looked like they served us a brick. I ordered a medium rare filet so did my girlfriend. I wanted to give them the benifet of the doubt so i started cutting and eating the outside of the stake tasted like char and rubber, no juice whatsoever. The manager came over while i had food in my mouth, and startled my girlfriend and i was unable to express my displeasure with it because he had left before i was able to get a word out. And the rest of the time we were there only one person came up to us which was the bus boy whom took our plates which still had half the steak on it for each of us. Eventually our waiter came back after our table was cleaned off, and we expressed our displeasure with the food and then asked for a check, he then told us “we should’ve told the manager” we explained how the manager was quick on his feet to go from table to table so we weren’t able to tell him. So then our waiter passed down the issue to someone else? And then that person passed it down to the manager. Our waiter brought us a dessert menu after we clearly stated we just wanted the check. The manager did end up deducting $20 but charged us $14.50 for fries??? Which was the side i got with my steak. I did just end up paying for it. I highly recommend somewhere/anywhere else if you want to not waste your money.

So I came here with a party of 3. We ordered the lamb chops and marinated skirt steak, as well as French fries. First off, the skirt steak was pretty yummy, but wow was the portion size pathetic. For 59$, I got two skirt steaks 5 inches long, 1.5 inches wide, and maybe .5 inches thick. It also came with onion straws but those failed to satisfy my appetite. My fiance got lamb chops but they were horribly charred on the outside and lacking in flavor. The fries were about the only filling thing we ate. But they were 14$ for an average portion size. I'll give credit to the manager, he gave us a 25$ coupon to come back. But I was hoping for a discount on the check. Of course he said we should've told him when he came by to check on us earlier, however we hadn't started eating at that point yet. So needless to say, the portion sizes were absolutely pathetic for the money we were paying. And to charge extra for sides instead of including them, makes you hesitant to order them and you end up with a small portion of meat that doesn't satisfy you. Oh and to top it off, I over heard the women at the front podium talking smack about a "customer who complained about their skirt steak." I would've loved to have said something but I wasted enough time there already. I won't be coming back here.

I’ve been coming to Rothmann’s for years, and it has always been one of my favorite steakhouses on Long Island. I’ve preferred the atmosphere here to Peter Luger and have always considered the bone-in ribeye to be one of the best steaks anywhere. Unfortunately, something has changed, and not for the better. We ordered the porterhouse and the bone-in ribeye. The bone-in ribeye was rancid. The moment it was set down, I could tell something was wrong: it was thin, had barely any bone, and didn’t look fresh. One bite confirmed it, the meat was spoiled. It was shocking and honestly concerning. The service matched the food: the wait staff acted like they were too bothered to approach the table or check in. No warmth, no attentiveness. Even the Coca-Cola tasted off. Overall, the entire experience felt careless and low-quality. This used to be my go-to restaurant on Long Island, and I would recommend it to anyone. Now, I can’t say that. The food quality has gone way down, the staff is disengaged, and the overall experience is simply not what it once was. Do not come here right now. Rothmann’s has really gone downhill, and it’s disappointing to see a place I once loved decline like this.
