Great experience! As always the food is delicious. But really impressed with our server tonight. Mandy was on point. We arrived at the same time a 20 top was seated. Mandy didn't miss a beat. We didn't wait for anything. Mandy was able to handle all her tables without anyone lacking anything. Very impressive. Drinks were refilled without every running out. Food was hot, everything was perfect. Thanks for the great service Mandy!
Our server was very understanding about how slow we were to order, and perfectly attentive. We bought sodas in the general store beforehand and she brought us cups with ice without needing to be asked. The food was excellent, great portions as always, and the perfect atmosphere for catching up. It was a great experience and we'll definitely come back!
GREAT OVERALL Experience!! From the Service, to Quality, flavorful burgers and Steak Fries, then the COVID conciousness of cleanliness from the Store to Restaurant. I haven't been to a Cracker Barrel in over 10yrs but I have found my new location. There biscuits are baked in LARD, for those NON Pork eaters...lol
One of my favorite places to eat. I usually eat breakfast here but tried dinner tonight and it was very good
They’re always really packed but they were generally ahead of the waiting times they suggested. I’d recommend the Mama’s French Toast. Super delicious. One time they even warmed up the bottle of syrup. The other time, it was room temperature. Always ask for free biscuits and jam while you’re waiting for your meal!
Our go-to place to have a home cooked meal away from home. After appointments we stopped for a great meal... Breakfast at noon. Down home country food done well. Food and service were excellent. The shop at the entrence is a must-see. It brings back memories of days gone bye. Bought some Birch Beer (nonalcoholic) absolutely wonderful!!!!
This place is excellent! And the retail store is currently open while you are waiting to pick up your to go order :-). I was very pleasantly surprised when I got home and saw that everything that we had ordered was not only in the bags but very well put together. The food was delicious as always and large portions is great for my family size. The staff there is also always so friendly, welcoming and professional. I highly recommend this Cracker Barrel location to all my family and friends
Typical great home cooking that you'd expect from a Cracker Barrel. One of the most consistently good restaurant chains. They need to build many more Cracker Barrels
Love, live, love this place!!! Susanne I think was her name was so sweet and funny! The staff were all nice and pleasant! I'll definitely be returning! It was also my first time ever in a crackle barrel so I was very pleased with my first experience!
The only issue we had was that the tables are placed really close together. I nor the person seated behind me could get in and out without a bit of difficulty. It might (and probably was) due to both of our sizes and girth, lol. I had to stand up and allow the Lady behind our table get in and the I re-seated myself. I am 6'3 and weigh in at or about 300lbs, or 21.42 stone. I like my weight in stone, doesn't seem quite so much. For a Japanese or for that matter most Asians, probably would not have been so bad, although even with them, a bit close. Great food though.
Exceptional Experience at Cracker Barrel It's been years since I last visited a Cracker Barrel, having been disheartened by declining service and food quality in Arizona locations. However, my recent experience at this particular outlet was nothing short of a delightful surprise. Right from the start, we were greeted with warmth and genuine care. My sister, who is handicapped and uses a walker, was accommodated gracefully. Our server, Alicia, swiftly made room at our table to comfortably place the walker. This thoughtful gesture started our visit on a wonderful note, eliminating the usual hassle of folding and stowing the walker away. Alicia's prompt and efficient service continued to impress us. She quickly took our drink orders, returning almost immediately to take our food orders. Within a mere 20 minutes, we were served piping hot, delectable meals. The timing was perfect as we were in no rush and could savor the dining experience. The steak tips stood out, tender and perfectly cooked to retain a slight pinkness inside while beautifully browned outside. My over-medium fried eggs were impeccably done with solid whites and a lusciously runny yolk. The bacon added a delightful crunch, perfectly crispy, and the iced tea tasted refreshingly like fresh brew. Each element of the meal reflected attention to detail and commitment to quality. As we departed, a visit to the gift shop was made memorable by Eva and Sandra's expert customer service. Their friendly and accommodating demeanor made us feel right at home, ensuring our purchases were wrapped up with the same warmth that greeted us upon arrival. In a world where excellent service and quality food are becoming scarce, this Cracker Barrel location stands out as a beacon of hospitality excellence. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment, confident that future diners will relish the exemplary service and delectable meals just as we did.
Good breakfast including a generous portion of sirloin ( made medium rare to perfection - not overcooked as usual), and extra bacon for a good price. No wait required on a Thursday morning despite having a full parking lot ( saw a big family of 10+ taking more than 2 tables, that arrived just after I did, seated within 5 minutes which is impressive in my experience at other establishments). Server was attentive and provided everything in a timely manner ( extra butter, etc).
The burger was moist and seasoned well! Very tasty. I had to wait for a few minutes but the CB store kept me from noticing. So many fun items , including a great selection of Halloween decorations. I picked up moon pies! 😂
Fast service even when its real busy. It was a 40 min wait but got in in less than 30. Out server, Bree was fast. Great staff and service!! Keep up the great work!!
here is what you need to know about this location before coming here beware the entrance it's tricky you actually have to go in through Chuy's off the corner entrance off the intersection as if you're about to get back onto I-35 which also then funnels into a nearby hotel there and some other places apparently I'm not aware if there was another way to access it from the other side but I tried to loop around coming from the west only to find myself in the regions parking lot cut off and not allowing me to then get into the cracker barrel had to wait patiently then get around rush hour traffic and heavy traffic to finally enter the building properly From there it's totally worth it with lots of parking to be had all around the building and this evening it was packed with nearly all the parking but thankfully we found despite nearly all the parking being filled a good parking spot and walked on over they have a nice Texan Western feel to it with rocking chairs outside in the front and outside dining areas as well for the family to sit down and enjoy what I want to focus on was the area where we were quickly seated at which was very well done and organized here we receded a record time despite the building being packed I want to recognize our server "Maya" young gal with the ponytail at the time sweet smile and professional positive presentation of the whole place he quickly got me hot water with lemon and then when my mom came back from using the restroom got my mom sit you right on beverages got me up to date on the rewards program we put in our orders and we got our orders and record time all the while see if it's very hospitable even asked about my mom's food allergies catered to our needs and later helped me with getting another receipt and getting our bill paid now that being said what I would say to be aware of is how this place structures how you pay so for the record you don't actually pay your server while they accept cash would you have to do if you don't scan the QR code on the receipt and pay on your phone digitally through their interface which you can also get on your free Wi-Fi to try to speed up then you got to shuffle around an area that is not clearly identifiable and surrounded by stuff near the entrance for sale and blends in with a corner pocket of traffic as well to hold it up who are getting there to go orders To me this was not very well thought out at this location I don't know if this is just the thing and how they structured them at all the cracker barrels but we nearly ran out of the building not paying our ticket only to realize the wait a second I didn't pay my ticket couldn't find my receipt had to go back in go to the front wait a little bit till they were able to get our waitress who was able to reprint out a receipt and then I was able to quickly pay the receipt there to front with cash and designate a tip for a waitress As for the customer service overall what's positive do I could tell the people at the front desk or stressed as their computer systems were also running slow The men's restroom was nothing necessarily worth mentioning the tile was ugly as get out it had a 7-Eleven gas station feel just grateful it had two urinals and was able to get in and out with depressing lighting that aside I can definitely say though there's selection of Disney items and other various random items at the front with stacked with something for just about everyone as for the food selection my mom and I got the rainbow trout special and the fish was perfect the broccoli was perfect but my choice of fried apples on the side was not with the fried apples coming office like not cooked enough like one piece was literally almost cold and another slice was off on the other hand I brought that to my waitresses attention I ended up getting a free dessert later through the rewards I was able to scoop that up and that well made up for it again they were very well accommodating that made sure to correct each and everything that was not done properly helped us every step of the way :)
We have had Thanksgiving lunch here for the past 4 years. It is a great value and the kids love it. Although one opted for an adult sized meatloaf dinner instead of the traditional turkey and dressing. We have eaten here too many times to know otherwise. It is always consistent and prices are fair for what you receive. We also like looking around in the general store and have purchased several things there over the years.
Great place and good service. Only thing is they need to update the chairs. I know its kind of a theme but those old wooden chairs are not ment made for long periods of sittting.
The pecan pancakes are the best!!! I don’t know what they do to them but they are sooo good! The pecans are in the batter which makes them even better. I do think they give you too much butter with them but you can just take it off. Now for what Actually ordered. I wanted to try the new stuffed cheesecake pancakes. They were delightful! The cream cheese filling was delicious as were the strawberries on top. This pancake is so filling I was only able to finish one. I also ordered the lemonade but they were out. They brought me watermelon lemonade and I was not a fan. It was too tart for me. The biscuits they give you are really good. They are not dry at all if you add a little bit of butter they are awesome.
I had meatloaf, green beans, and glazed carrots. The meal included biscuits and cornbread. It was so delicious and the portions were so big. I took some home and had another meal the next day.
The meatloaf was awesome! No more people than there were the service could have been a little better but I survived. I'm not sure if the chairs here are different than other stores. I've never been uncomfortable before in a cracker barrel but I had been driving all day and that seat hurt my butt and back. On second thought, the service probably just *seemed* slow because the chair was hurting me. 😆
32 years living and this place hasn't changed! Good ol Cracker Barrel. Good food, can feed the family without breaking the bank. Always take the wait and go meander in the store. By the time you get even half way your name will be called for seating. So enjoy the moments the home cooking and chill out at cracker barrel. Dinner, lunch and breakfast it's all good!
When visiting family, this is a "must" for a classic family meal get together. The new fall menu options are good to try. Of course the shop is always fun. I love God faith and family values that are shared throughout the shop. Thanks for great service!
Celebrated the return of Uncle Hershel. Fortunately, our local resturant had not been transitioned so everything was just as it should be. Good food, good service. By the way, the dining rooms reflected a wide range of diversity. Multiple races and range in ages was obvious. One change I would make... eliminate the line at the cash register. Let me pay at my table. One other change, but I will leave the fate of the CEO to the board of directors.
Came in to experience the original Cracker Barrel before it gets renovated. I can’t help but think about our wonderful service we had last night with our server, Jason. Jason was very busy but he did such a great job on checking on my table and having the help from his other servers as they were also serving big family tables. Even with the backlash going on about the changes, servants like Jason are just trying to make a living so I do hope others keep that in mind. I really hope they leave the charm on this Cracker Barrel because it’s what people come in for. Good southern comfort food that feels like you’re at your grandmas house.
A friend brought me here for a birthday treat. Never know this restaurant is so cool. It has a general store that sells interesting stuff and restaurant is at the side. Food is delish, ambience is amazing, the servers are polite, friendly and welcoming. Makes the dinning experience positive. Line is long so you may register the number of pax and shop around while waiting for the table. Bill checkout will be done at the general store cashiers.
This was a new Cracker Barrel for me. The food arrived hot and exactly as I ordered. My server had 4 stars, and she deserved them. She kept my coffee full. She brought everything I asked. The food was still hot and delicious when it arrived. The prices are reasonable. I even ordered a meal 'to go' for later. I would definitely eat here again.
CB has become one of our favorite and most visited restaurants in the north Austin-RR Williamson County metro area. We are drawn back week after week with the consistently prepared foods, either down-home breakfasts or hearty, Grandma inspired suppers. Rarely do we receive poor service, although it has happened, generally during peak busy hours. But overall, CB is one of the best restaurants out there, considering all aspects.
Our first time at this Cracker Barrell. It was very busy as it was new years day. Our wait was supposed to be 40 minutes. It turned out to be 25 minutes. The waitress took care of us. We didn't wait to long to have the food brought up. Grilled chicken tenders were awesome as well the mapple chicken. Prices still affordable for a good meal at Cracker Barrell.
It has been years since I've been and needed some comfort food. Come to find out, they serve alcohol now! I had a bloody mary. The wait staff were all super friendly. We didn't have to wait long. I had chicken and dumplings. They cornbread and biscuits are always fresh. We will be back. Our waiter Elliot was great and prompt. We will be back.
We hadn't eaten here for several years, but decided to try them again because they were convenient to were we needed to be later in the morning. It wasn't busy with the normal breakfast rush when we arrived and were seated right away. There was a noticeable improvement in all the staff which was nice to see. Our breakfast was served in good time and tasted great. A definite improvement over our previous experience and worth a 5-star rating.
Came here on a special occasion. My special sister in laws birthday brunch and we chose to eat here. The service was excellent and the food was great! I am very big on southern hospitality and an overall excellent experience and let me reassure you this experience was nothing short of pure excellence. 6 stars if I could! Bonus: I love the little shopping area they have wonderful Christmas 🎄 items for sale as well as military appeal along with children’s clothes and so much more! Below I attached pictures of the food and the sweet things I saw for sale which by the way I’m coming back to buy. Food establishments, take note, Cracker Barrel is doing it right 👌🏽
We've ordered online curbside takeout from various different locations across the US and this location did have the best tasting food so far. Roast beef dinner and Southern fried chicken were both cooked perfectly. However my chicken looked like it was from a baby chicken.. leg looked like a drumstick. 🙃 My only other complaint was with curbside.we waited 10 mins past the pickup time and no one brought out our food ..my husband had to go inside the store and found it sitting on the counter. Luckily it was still warm. So 4.0 out of 5.0 stars.
I went for breakfast and I won't lie, I was expecting it to taste better than it actually did. I got the French toast and it wasnt really toasted. I still ate it though. Everyone I was with, also had higher expectations for breakfast. One person got a lunch plate and they said it was much better than the breakfast plates. I would come here again but maybe for the lunch or dinner plates. I will say, it was a bit crowded. The tables (there are some booths but they were filled) are really close. The people on the right side of me were about 3 feet away from me. The gift shop was nice, they had a bunch of cool things, good smelling candles and some pretty wind chimes. (I'm sorry I didn't take a picture of the food, I always forget)
My family and I love Cracker Barrel. Their food is really good for the price as well. Although some items are being charged extra now, like $1 more dollar for plain hash browns versus hash browns casserole, etc. Wait times are increasing. Nowadays, the minimum wait on Sundays is an hour and twenty minutes for a party of 4. 🫤
It's a Cracker Barrel you get what you expect country cooking at fair prices. Oh my gosh it has been awhile since we have been here. They have beer, wine, and mimosas now. Their servings are a lot bigger than I remember and the store has a lot more variety. Overall same great food with some needed improvements.
This is everything you think of Cracker Barrel would be. Quick table turnaround, short weights, comfort food, and all the fixings. Keep in mind the tables are pretty small, and they pack people in there pretty tight, but this is the place to come grab a quick sit-down meal, and take off. If you want to linger, use the rocking chairs outside. Beware some pretty significant wait times after church and major events. Other than that, it is what they say it is.
Cracker Barrel pretty uniquely captures the grandma kitchen feel, even if one was born on a different continent in a completely different society. And the food is decent enough to complete the illusion. While traveling when the kids were small we always stopped at various Cracker Barrels along the interstates as they checked more than one box with their warm and fuzzy feel browsing the store while waiting for a table or after a meal, old country cooking and open fireplace. And the sweaters and toys looking out of place anywhere else. A nice way to jack up a smile while having a breakfast at the same time.
The food was alright but nothing special. I was never that impressed with the food at Cracker Barrel. I only came here because it had been years since I had been to one. However, the service here was fantastic. I believe that my server was named Vanessa. She was wonderful.
First time inside Cracker Barrel Old Country Store in Round Rock, just there for the grocery gift shop, didn't eat there. A lot of nice, old time hard to find items, got a bag of Charles Chips( remember those, and a grape Nehi too) lots of knick knacks and curios and old sodas/candy. Interesting place.
Went with the family for breakfast Sunday morning to use a gift card I got for Christmas. Only a 15-minute wait but it looked super busy, and it was pretty packed but they gave us a great table by the fireplace. I'll say this, their service is on point! My son spilled his water and they were there within a few seconds and 4 different people were cleaning it up and getting him a new water. Really incredible how they worked so quickly and fluidly, it was really impressive to watch and that doesn't happen in customer service very often nowadays. Unfortunately, the food is just meh. The server said it was sausage gravy. That is all over the menu but the sausage is barely obvious and it's pretty bland. I can help with tweak that recipe because it should really be a shining star since it's all over the menu and a staple. It's a missed opportunity I think. A few other dishes were just okay and the grits also were bland, but if they can get the food on par with the service, they'll really shine. You've got to do the biscuits and sausage gravy better though!
I like the place!! When you walk in you will see. A gift shop with lots of good stuff. Some of the items are on sale for low prices! Just one thing about the menu, I ordered the dish that says ‘simmered/ slow cooked chicken”. It made me want to try American style slow cooking which I like. But, it came out a little disappointing. The chicken was just steamed, not tender as it would be if they really slow cooked it. The taste was ok. So, I probable picked the wrong dish. The grandma sampler was good. Talking about the whole experience for the first time there, the service was good. Nice people there at the restaurant and in the gift shop. I also enjoyed the old American country style art theme on the walls. In the gift shop, they have good & unique selection of women clothing and some accessories. There are specific theme gifts such as the peacock and rooster corners. Overall, it’s more than coming to eat when you come here. I like it and will come back!
08/20/25 Lunch. Long time customers, determined to go by a family fav, and shoot down the complaints I’ve been hearing. Same Store mostly, Friendly Folks hostess and servers. No major appearance changes this location. Unfortunately the quality of the food has declined considerably. I ordered the Beef Stew Mashed Potato’s, Green Beans, The sides were ok both the Stew and Green Beans tasted as if out of a Can. My Son in Laws Catfish with Mac & Cheese was just ok. My Daughter ordered the country boy breakfast because she likes the hash brown casserole. That was all she could finish on that particular breakfast. The complementary roles and biscuits were as we remembered quite good. Unremarkable is the best way to describe this visit truly disappointed in what is going to prove to be a poor decision to not make the Beef Stew from scratch, The use of a lesser quality ham, The gravy hinted at what I remembered, but possibly because it was cold. I didn’t get the best chance to judge it properly. I hope this location avoids The makeover, but we can only help and we really need to get back to Pay attention to the quality of the food they serve.
Steak was overcooked, corn bread never delivered. Fried shrimp cold.
The staff was lovely, but the food was really mediocre. I was impressed that the prices haven't gone up significantly since I was here several years ago, until the food arrived. I suspect they have sacrificed quality in ingredients in a order to keep prices down because the food wasnt awful, but it also wasnt good.
It was ok.. flavor was good.. presentation not so much.. Jennifer was amazing and very very attentive to us. The only thing that was displeasing was the Extremely dirty bathrooms .. urine on the floor, on the toilet seat as well, all stalls had no toilet paper but one.. when I came out the hostess was laughing with two other employees.. I figured if you had that much time to joke .. why not clean the restroom.
We went for brunch on Sunday. Conveniently put our name on the waitlist at 10:25 and then was told it would be a 60 minute wait. We arrived at 10:55 and was seated within 5 minutes. The hostess was overly hot, needed water as hot as it is, she should have water near by, I did not notice any. It was already 98 degrees and the sun was beaten down on her. She was as nice as could be. It wasn’t overly busy yet like most Sunday mornings. Love the store, it’s always decorated so nicely. We were seated and handed our menus. After looking over the menu, I noticed there wasn’t much of a breakfast menu, so when our hostess finally made it to our table, I inquired about the few breakfast items. She ask me what time it is, I replied 11:15 and she told me we only serve a small breakfast menu after 11:00. So, no longer brunch on the weekends? Nope! What a HUGE disappointment. Now I know why they weren’t very busy for a Sunday. I honestly think they need to rethink that! Bad move on their part. Sadly, this was the worst service we’ve ever received at any CB we’ve ever been to! Our waitress was not very attentive at all! We had to ask for things she forgot multiple times, then had to ask a different server in order to get them. The chicken fried steak, didn’t come with gravy! We ask twice for that. We’re in Texas, it’s a Texas thing. Never got a refill on our drinks. There were many things wrong, I could go on, but instead, I’ll just say, do better Cracker Barrel and bring back breakfast all day on the weekends!
The service was good. Anna did a great job since my actual waitress never visited my table. My food arrived in separate dishes…strange! I put it all on one plate. The breading on the chicken wasn’t that great. I’m a country woman and I know how the chicken is supposed to taste. Oh well!
The meat loaf and carrots were very good but I was especially looking forward to the hash brown casserole. I hadn't had one since before COVID. Unfortunately it was a huge disappointment. It wasn't crispy, large pieces of uncooked onions, no cheese. I'll pass next time.
We used to go there twice a month, but feel like food quality is going down. I suggest go there during weekday. Last time went there with long line and I ordered Sirloin Steak Tips and it was totally over cooked. This time I tried there new York steak with median rare , and it came with I will say medium well and burnt surface. Service is good , but quality is going down.
Not my favorite place to go but a friend of mine wanted to go there. But I really do like their pancakes
I went by the Cracker Barrel on my home from work and I ordered the Chicken fried chicken, with turnip green and a premium side I paid extra for. I got home and pretty much had a cup of broth from the Chicken and dumplings. I had one dumpling and little shredded chicken. I was so disappointed because when I have eaten there they had given me a nice portion then.
I really wanted to like that spot.. The restaurant itself is very inviting with a lovely boutique, a unique southern atmosphere that was very promising. The menu is varied and will satisfy any craving for breakfast staple : pancakes, eggs and bacon but also fried chicken, cat fish or burgers for anyone looking for dinner options. If the prices are undeniably low, the quality of the food did not meet my expectations : my sirloin steak was very very hard to chew and dry (although I asked for medium), the grits were tasteless, the gravy for the biscuit was very thick and had no flavor. The hash brown casserole was good however and my husband's catfish was great too : that's why I will cut the apple in half and give it 3 stars for the overall experience. Maybe I did not order the right item on the menu...? Service was fast and our waitress was very nice. However, I will not come back for the food because it was mediocre.
First time I was denied regular hashbrowns (vs casserole).. I was told they didn't have them today and tomorrow.. but hashbrown casserole is perfectly ok to order, which my bf did with his meal.. idk how they make hashbrown casserole, without (regular) hashbrowns?? Idk, I've been coming here for years and sucks when u can't get what you've always gotten in the past.. and the fact that I was craving crispy hashbrowns and didn't get 'em sucked..
I loved the atmosphere and the staff was friendly. There were some issues though. We didn't get any biscuits before or after we got our food and we had to ask the wait staff before we got any. We kept having to ask for refills for our drinks more than once and then he would bring out one and forget what everyone else was drinking. The chicken and dumplings I got had one piece of chicken in an entire bowl of dumplings. The fried okra was cold and rubbery. Probably won't be going back any time soon.
We stopped in for breakfast but we didn't stay to eat. The restaurant was super crowded and we are seated at a tiny table right in the line of all the foot traffic so we decided not to stay. BUT the store front was so very cool! Tons to look at and so much old fashioned candy!!! Need to go again just to look through all the fun stuff they offer.
Dearest Eva (at checkout) please pay attention to the Good Book, and realize for everything there is a time... and the time to proselytize is not while there are numerous customers waiting to pay to leave while you are hugging and exchanging phone numbers with someone you are convincing to come to your church. We had a wonderful dining experience until the end, when we stood in line for almost as long as it took to enjoy our food (pkay... possibly a slight exaggeration). Please understand, we all enjoy Southern hospitality, but we also enjoy getting on with other obligations after dinner. Sadly, when we made a comment to the man (who may have been a manager) we received a very negative response to our complaint. Very sad... we are done with this location... and likely will be quite some time before gracing with our presence another Cracker Barrel. (sigh)
We (party of two) showed up for dinner. There were many open tables and nobody ahead of us waiting. When we checked in it seemed like one of the hostesses was going to seat us. Then the other said, 'actually there will be a wait.' And then she asked if that was ok. I said no, and we left. As we were walking back to our car I counted the tables and there were several more but I stopped counting at 17. I will not wait to be seated at a restaurant with 17+ open tables. That cost this location our business. I will keep going to CB but never going back to that one.
First off, they refused to swap items due to allergy/intolerance. I was told flat out no by the waitress. Kerbey will swap without any issue, usually without even an upcharge (which I would have been fine with paying here). CB literally has nothing on their breakfast menu as is that suits a low-wheat or low-dairy diet, but their a la carte doesn't have the basics to order. They brag about southern cooking, yet they have "impossible" meat on the menu (restaurants get a kickback for this, that's why everyone is selling it) and you can't just swap for basic items. Second, the food was not good. I ordered the eggs over medium. When they came they were jiggling and turned into nasty soup. The grits were also soup like. My husband's pancakes and eggs came out okay, but he said they were just so so, not flavorful. The hamburger patty that came with my breakfast was tasty, but it would have been nice to know I was being upcharged for the onions that the waitress suggested I get. The brown gravy that came with it looked like pudding. I ended up being able to eat less than half my meal. The waitress was abrupt for most of the visit and when it was clear we were not happy she paused but at that point we just wanted to leave. It was incredibly noisy with people practically sitting in each other's laps the tables were so close. We've always had a food experience with the one in Temple and Waco. This one is just terrible.
Food: Microwaved, only the pancakes and chicken fried steak were edible. Had to add water to gravy. Sausage: Burned, gave to dog Cornbread: Tasted burned, gave most to dog. Mashed Potatoes: Microwaved a second time? Third? Inedible. Server: Never smiled once Back to the potatoes: Seriously, WHAT is this? Was this left by someone else this morning, stored on the counter, then left under a heat lamp for 5 minutes?
I had the catfish the breading needed flavor to it. The broccoli and carrots were the best part of my meal. The biscits were over cooked and hard. My grandson enjoyed his chicken strips thats a plus. I had to ask a manager for more water couldnt seem to get the attention of our waitress.
I am a huge fan of Cracker Barrel. When it comes to breakfast, it’s in my top 3. Well this particular day, it was just all bad. Holiday menu are still being handed out and when you order from it, they didn’t have anything listed. We were told that’s the holiday menu. Well why give it out. Then waiter never brought plates out to the table. So the biscuits we ordered folks started using paper towels as plates to avoid them from getting cold before I flagged down another waitress to get plates. Moving forward, when our food came, the biscuits and bacon was noticeably burnt. I totally wouldn’t have served it. Not sure what’s going on here in this CB, but please for the love of the biscuits, fix it! I gave 2 stars because the pancakes and my uncle Hershel worked out. Although my scrambled eggs with cheese taste like rubber.
The carrots were so overcooked they were mush. Couldn't even use a fork to get them. I left them uneaten. They were only good for baby food. The hashbrown casserole I had was dry. Disappointing. The chicken fried chicken and biscuits were good.
Food came and we had no silverware and no syrup for our breakfast order. We waited about five minutes for someone to come back to our table. I walked into the entrance of the kitchen where the server went, not into the kitchen, and I was told to step out by another server named Rhyan. I was not asked if I needed anything until after I sat back at my table. Food was good but the service was not.
I order the cod special and received very thin pieces of fish consisting of mostly air and breading/batter. The cod was dry, crusty, and hard to chew. When you bite into it, it breaks apart revealing dry breading and very little fish. This is very different from my prior experience with Cracker Barrel where I used to receive thick pieces of cod. Unfortunately the quality of food has really gone down and I am very disappointed with this restaurant experience.
Place wasn’t vet busy but waited over 20 minutes to get our drinks. Had to ask someone passing by for them. Both my sister and ordered Chicken Fried Steak with gravy plus extra gravy on the side. We both received our plates with zero gravy on anything. My granddaughter ordered a plain cheeseburger which was burned on one side and the meat was hard. I always go to Cracker Barrel but will never come back to this location.
Absolutely Worst Experience at Cracker Barrel – So Disappointed! We’ve been loyal customers at the Round Rock Cracker Barrel for years, but today was beyond disappointing. First, it took over 8 minutes just for a server to come by and greet us. Once she finally took our drink order, it took another 10+ minutes for the drinks to arrive. Completely unacceptable. Then came the worst part — we waited more than 30 minutes for our breakfast, and when it finally showed up, it was cold. Not lukewarm — cold. This was hands down the worst experience we’ve ever had at any Cracker Barrel. This used to be our go-to spot, but this kind of service and quality is just not okay. Extremely disappointed.
I only waited to say something due to me debating on going to the ER after what I believe i have which is food poisoning. The bacon and sausage is so uncooked , it can be brought back to the farm for another season or two! Around 12:20pm - 12:37pm 02/22/2025 for delivery mind you, I understand training new people and I have personally been behind the stove, cooking and cleaning, but this... THIS is unacceptable. Please train your people better and regardless of what happened, take ownership of this raw as hell bacon and sausage patties. I hope y'all look at this and know, someone WAS sick after eating YOUR food. Id be ashamed if I saw this. Be safe people, and I hope this does not happen to you on days like today. Don't give me prayers , let me know the manager sees this abomination, please.
Food quality continually remains very low, no employer says thank you, they just take yout money without asking how it went, no offer of a refill on coffee, hash browns are not hash brown, its rice and cheese, askes for mimosa, never got one. The food is all dry. The place is dirty, floors are dirty, chairs and tables are sticky. See picture. Done with all cracker barells at this point Your name can only carry you so far cracker barrel. Seems they focus on thier material selling more than the restaurant.
They lost our order. When we asked they said they were busy in the kitchen. But people that came in after us all received there meals. When I asked to speak to a manager none came. I asked 3 different times. We asked for our bill and went to the cashier. Asked her to speak to a manager. Then a nice lady, shift lead I believe comped our drinks. We asked to a manager again. Was told oh she had to go work the line to get things caught up.
First time ordering take out and I won't ever do it again. I ordered a loaded baked potato for a side and when I got home mind you I live 2 miles away so it's not a far drive, my toppings were opened and spilled. Melted butter all in the bag, barely gave me any green onions the potato tasted old and dry and the sour cream was very hot and stuck together . Very disappointed.
This was my weekly Sunday outing with my grandchildren. We decided to wait the 40 minutes for a table, as the kids wanted to try again here. Waiting for our flatware and napkins, after asking the server for them, I ended up getting up and asking kitchen staff directly for them. Waiting for refills on our beverages that never happened. When the check finally came it was dropped off and she was gone. (Wrong tables check) could not find our server. Went and stood in line again to pay. Explained wrong items on our check had to wait for the hostess to tell her what we all oredered. Paid and left. Probably would not go back for our outings there again.
This used to be a great American food establishment but now it is way below acceptable Standards. I have tasted my dog food one time and I remember it tasted better than the food I was served during my most recent visit (and the last one) to Cracker Barrel. Highly NOT recommended. Maybe the service and the atmosphere are OK but collectively everything is at zero stars which is an option that is not available to choose!
We were in town for my wife's surgery and the day before her surgery, we both had the Smokestack burger and it was delicious. After her surgery, we both wanted another Smokestack burger, and ordered take out since my wife couldn't go to the restaurant. I ordered the 2 smokestack burgers online and was notified that it would be done at 6:01 pm. I got to the restaurant at 6:10 pm and my order wasn't ready yet and several other people were also waiting for their pickup order! I finally got my order at 6:33 and went back to the room with my wife - when we sat down to eat, our burgers were burnt and they were too hard to eat - I ordered "medium rare" for our burgers. I didn't have the energy to go back to the restaurant, so we just through our burgers in the garbage and ate our side dishes which were also messed up... I'm going to cancel my Cracker Barrel account and never eat there again - this was our third time eating at CB and 3 times we were dissatisfied with the food and service...
