One of my best tex mex place at round rock. Service usually very fast and hospitable. Their enchiladas are my favorite. I mostly picks chika chika boom boom plate which is very balanced and perfect. Margaritas martini are again must try. They will feed you lot of chops with salsa. Also try their queso if you eating non-veg.

Outstanding Customer Service! The managers Andy & Joe were amazing! We had an issue with our delivery order and they both treated us with so much kindness and solved the problem with THE BEST customer service we have ever received. They went well out of their way for us and we are so thankful. The food was great AS ALWAYS. We had the deluxe tomatillo enchiladas plate, kids taco plate and chuychanga plate with boom boom sauce. The complimentary chips, salsa and jalapeño ranch is 10/10!

My goto. Awesome food and the service was stellar. My first stop when flying into Austin. Used to go to the original and now they're everywhere, but still nostalgic to me. Boom Boom sauce makes everything OK, trust me.

Every Chuy’s I go to have been consistent in food, service and quality. This location is no different. Food and drinks are amazing and LOVE the atmosphere. Staff are personable and can tell they love what they do due to the great customer service and awesome attitude. My go to is the Sizzling Steak Fajitas, they do come out SIZZLING! Soooo goooodddd! Chips and salsa/jalapeño ranch complimentary appetizers are great so you only have to pay for the additional dips you want. Service is always excellent whether I go alone or in a group. Definitely worth the visit to this place!

First visit to this authentic Mexican restaurant and all of us were so pleased with every aspect of this establishment. We went on a Wednesday evening and the restaurant was packed. We waited less than 10 minutes and we had a tables for eight of us. In a blink of your eye we had drinks, chips, salsa and queso. Our dinners came out promptly and we all quited down and enjoyed our dinners. The wait staff was excellent and professional. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The good here was really good, the service was great as usual and our waiter Manny was really nice and very helpful with our decisions and helping us understand the selections better. It has only gotten better since the last time I went there 10 years ago.

If you are looking for the best fresh Tex-Mex around, look no further than Chuy’s in Round Rock. Not only does Chuy’s offer the best Tex-Mex you can find, but it also offers unsurpassed customer service. At every visit, Chuy’s provides exceptional service and prepares our entrees to perfection. I cannot say I’ve ever had a bad meal, a mediocre meal, or poor service. Never one complaint! It’s simply fabulous every time. When it is busy, there can be a wait time, but it’s so worth the wait! Chuy’s has a fun and inviting atmosphere, and I love the unique restaurant décor. The eclectic touches throughout the restaurant create a unique dining experience. Note the Chuy’s touches around you like the hubcaps hanging shiny and bright from the ceiling. You’ll enjoy the view. The attentive servers promptly deliver the free chips and salsa and get your drinks to you in a blink. The staff is always engaging, attentive, and friendly with a smile even during those crazy-busy times. They make your experience there even more enjoyable. For an appetizer, order the queso, a blend of melted cheese, green chile and ranchero sauces, and add the ground beef, guacamole & Pico de Gallo. It’s truly divine. And that creamy jalapeno dip, y’all! It’s addictive and the best. I have found nothing comparable to their creamy jalapeno dip anywhere else. But be careful not to fill up on their chips and dip and save room for their mouth-watering entrees. One of my favorite dishes is the deluxe chicken enchilada. Hand-rolled to order with homemade corn tortillas, it’s served piping hot, filled with tender, roasted chicken, and buried in a deluxe tomatillo sauce that is to die for. Made from scratch each day, the deluxe tomatillo sauce is blended with sour cream, fresh herbs, cilantro, and spices. It’s full of creamy and tangy goodness! I have not found another comparable tomatillo sauce anywhere. It’s tangy, creamy, and truly the best around. A bed of Mexican rice and smokey refried beans surround the plate, complimenting the delicious enchiladas. If you are looking for the absolute best Tex-Mex in the area with a unique and eclectic atmosphere that offers mouth-watering entrees and exceptional customer service, stop by and enjoy a meal at Chuy’s. You won’t regret it.

When I do eat there, it's always good. Today, however, the comment is on the cleanliness, or tidyness, of the exterior, the parking lot where we DoorDashers wait. Despite it being a high traffic area, it is pretty much spotless. Kudos to the clientele and the cleaning crew.

I don't care that it's a popular chain and has a location pretty much everywhere, because I would still recommend it for amazing Tex-Mex in Austin. The atmosphere was so vibrant and lively even an hour before closing. No complaints about the complimentary chips and salsa {read till the end for a special tip there ;) }. The vegetarian fajitas and enchiladas, and the chicken relleno were all fantastic and full of flavour. And the tres leches is so deliciously soft and spongy. It's become my favourite for Tex-Mex so far. Hint: Ask them explicitly for cilantro ranch with the complimentary chips and you won't be disappointed.

This was my first time eating at a Chuy’s and after this experience I will become a regular! The food is amazing, the portions are huge so you can have plenty of leftover for later, the service was fabulous even though they were packed in Christmas Eve. Very happy with our choice of lunch.

We are beyond thrilled with the catering service from Chuy's for our event! The food was absolutely delicious and our guests couldn't stop raving about the meal. From start to finish, Lucas and Heather made the catering experience so seamless. The service was fantastic, and the team went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Special thanks to Jaime, Diana, and Manny for their excellent service, attention to detail, and for taking such great care of our guests, family, and even our DJ, security officer, and bartenders. We truly appreciate everything you did to make our event so amazing. Chuy's made it an unforgettable experience, and we can't thank you enough!

This Tex-Mex establishment offers a delightful dining experience with charming house-themed decor and complimentary salsa, chips, and a zesty ranch jalapeno sauce. While a wait is often present, online reservations provide a convenient solution. Additionally, their exceptional happy hour menu presents excellent value.

A definite must to visit when your in round rock. Worth the wait in line. Food, environment, and staff are all excellent. My wife has a red dye allergy and we asked what their seasoning is made of before we ordered. The cook came out and explained all the seasonings in each dish. We were able to order something without red dye seasoning. Boy is their food delicious.

Always a great dinner each time I have visited Chuy’s especially when they have the jalapeño ranch and salsa w/ chips while waiting on the entrees. Pachos are a go to for the wife and chicken quesadillas are a normal order for the kiddo. Looking forward to the next visit to fill up on.

I ordered to go through the app. I was surprised how busy it was at how fast I got my order. The food was good, fresh, and delicious. The taco salad however was missing the tortilla strip and the waiter didn't give me a receipt to sign or keep! Overall I would love to try inside next time! Thanks ❣️

They were a little busy at noon on Saturday but why wouldn't they be? This place is just downright yummy!!! The service was a little slower than normal, but they were packed so I felt like they were doing the best they could. Please try ALL the sauces...lol they will surely have something you will like.

One of my favorite and fun Tex-Mex spots!! Thin and Crispy Chips, Yummy Guacamole, Perfect Salsa, plus their Rice and Beans are guess what? Vegan! The Veggie Enchiladas are my go-to. (Just 86 the cheese to be Vegan with Ranchero or Tomatillo Sauce.) The staff is always attentive and friendly too.

We visited this place before pandemic. This is definitely very happening place that time as we visited around 2 PM CT. It was much crowded then and manager politely made aware of the situation and informed us about almost 1 hour waiting time. He was so honest and did not lie about the situation and waiting time. We were about to leave after listening to him as my kids were much hungry. Later, we decided to wait as it was having nice waiting area outside as well. Fortunately, we could get table after around 40 minutes and we were happy. We ordered kids meal, one veg entry and Chuy's elvis Green Chile fried chicken. All the food dishes were great but would like to talk about Chuy's elvis Green Chile fried chicken. It was awesome and could enjoy thoroughly. My kids enjoys complimentary kulfis (ice cream) too. Unfortunately, Chuy's elvis Green Chile fried chicken dish is discontinued from the menu. I think that they should get this dish back to menu soon. Overall it was very good experience at Chuy' s.

The Aus-Mex version of Tex-Mex. It's a really solid mexican food place. While it's not my favorite, it's always good and consistently better than most of the other spots around town. The jalapeño ranch is a must. I love the boom boom sauce as well. Really everything here is pretty solid.

Laid-back vibe and good Tex-mex food from a well loved chain. Rumor has it that Olive Garden has acquired this chain but it has retained its original vibe. Be ready to wait for a table or TIP: reserve a table in advance off the website or the link off of Google maps listing for restaurant. A generous bowl of chips and salsa and ranchero sauce greets you. We ordered veggie and chicken enchiladas, shrimp tacos with their revered boom-boom sauce. We also ordered the tres leches cake! Good food. Our server, Amanda was attentive and pleasant. One particular housefly also seemed to give us a lot more attention than we wanted or deserved) so that you have to deal with flies if seated outside) but good experience overall. P.S: For those who have not gone here for a while the much-loved taco bar has been gone post-COVID never to return 🙃

Chuy's is a favorite in our house. Their queso is solid, that creamy jalapeno dip is amazing and they have great staple items. I highly recommend using their online wait-list to help cute down on waiting for a table as they do get crowded. Also I recommend the fajitas and the flautas!

Chuy’s is always a fun and reliable Tex-Mex spot! The food comes out hot, fresh, and full of flavor every time. I’m obsessed with their creamy jalapeño dip — seriously addictive. The staff is upbeat and the atmosphere is casual and lively, perfect for hanging out with friends or family.

This was my first time at Chuy’s, and I have to admit—I was pleasantly surprised. Whenever I hear “Tex-Mex,” I usually hesitate because I’m used to authentic Mexican food and it just never sounds that appealing. But Chuy’s completely changed my mind. From the very start, the chips and salsa were fresh, flavorful, and hard to stop eating. Then came the enchiladas—absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned, and incredibly satisfying. Everything tasted fresh and well made, not at all what I expected. This visit definitely opened my eyes to Tex-Mex done right. I’ll absolutely be coming back and recommending it to others.

We did ask to be moved after initially being seated because there was a speaker right above our heads and while the music choice was great, I couldn't hardly hear. We were moved into Angel's section and she truly lived up to her name! Very personable, attentive, funny, and everything came out perfect! Even told the manager how great she was and he was so kind and went on and on about how great Angel was. Wonderful experience!

We started out with chips and a ranch looking dip or at least that what we thought it would taste like but we were surprised when it had a creamy jalapeno flavor. We had the queso dip (which was amazing) and I had the grilled steak burrito 🌯 with queso smothered on top. The grilled steak inside really had that charcoal grilled taste and the crispy burnt ends I love but was also juicy. I definitely recommend this place.

Chips were so fresh and so good. My brother objected to his burrito being "wet"(sauce) and I had to remind him it was TexMex. But both our meals were tasty. Service was good even though they were really busy. I love the framed photographs of customer's dogs.

Exceptional Service from Luciano Made Our Day!! After a disappointing experience at Cracker Barrel, we decided to take our business to Chuy’s — and I’m so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, Luciano completely turned our day around with his amazing attitude and top-notch service. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared that we were having a good experience. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect — from the food to the timing to the way he checked in on us. It’s rare to find someone who takes that much pride in their work and makes guests feel valued. Thank you, Luciano, for reminding us what great customer service looks like! Chuy’s is lucky to have you, and we’ll definitely be coming back because of you.

Busy restaurant but they found space for us four without a reservation. I had a taco enchilada combo which was great, others at the table had vegetarian dishes and chicken dillas. No draft beer so we drank margaritas and shiner bock. Service from Benjamin was great. Cost was $119.07 for four before tip.

1st time coming to this Chuy's and it was amazing 😍.. the beautiful decor and atmosphere is great. Now the food on the other part please and I do mean please ask what's all on the food or how its made and how its serves on your plate due to it being spicy 🔥 as in HOT. I can't eat anything hot at the moment and I was not aware of all the hot sauce on the enchiladas. I explain my concern to Sterling the manager and he was so awesome and made me cheese enchiladas to go that was so sweet of him to do for me.. 🙏🏽❤️ definitely come check them out... Next time I am in town I will definitely come back... the food is delicious!! 🌮 🌯 🍷 And Sterling was great on fixing my food...

Ambiance: 4/5 Food 4/5 Comfort food with variety of choices of drinks and appetizers. How can I not start without initially served chips and dips. Perfectly fried chips with two choices of dips. Goes well with our ritas. We ordered mango ritas and few others which all our good. Main food: will recommend boom boom sauce. If you are ordering chicken enchiladas with book boom then I’ll highly recommend to get extra boom boom sauce… my chicken was slightly dry so extra sauce helped. Finished full dish and then I needed a nice comfy bed to sleep after an amazing dinner

Tex-Mex for me is a field of sauce and cheese-covered mediocrity with a few standouts. Chuy's is one of those few. Don't get stuffed on the chips and jalapeno ranch though. Save room for anything covered in that Boom Boom sauce.

P
Pavani Vajhala

The boom boom sauce is sexy 🌶️ spicy ! Order only if you can handle hot 😬

t

Chuy's is a step above the usual Mexican food place in central Texas. Their full parking lot is testament to their food. Their food all tends to be delicious and the wait staff, especially Trev, are attentive and friendly. Only downsides: the expanded, low roofed dining area is in great need of sound baffles. With screeching children at a nearby table and a room full of other people, our party of four had to shout to carry on a conversation with each other. The place could also use a little spiffing and freshening up. But maybe that's part of the charm?

G
Gessica Cox

Great place to get a drink, grab brunch or lunch. Prices are reasonable and never just too crowded. You can reserve a spot for larger parties otherwise the wait in line thing works pretty well. One star down because sometimes there are alot of flies and they are overwhelming.

I'm big on Chuys! I find their food to taste good, well portioned, and reasonably priced. I've never really been disappointed in the food at any Chuys location, including this one. I'm all about that boom boom sauce and the green chili sauce. The Elvis Presley Memorial Combo is a ton of food for an amazing price. They used to have an appetizer sampler plate which was our go to but didn't see that the last time we were here. The kids menu worked well for my kid. Service was very good at our last visit. Make sure to get on the wait-list on their website if you don't want to wait 45 mins during lunch/dinner times. My biggest complaint from my last visit is that food took 40 mins to arrive and it was unusual even for the server who apologized numerous times for it. They must have been backed up in the kitchen. Nevertheless, it didn't ruin our night and everything else went smoothly. I'm getting hungry just thinking about the food....I might go back this weekend for some boom boom sauce!

The food was good it was flavorful and it was nice and hot when we got it. But the only thing that I did care too much for was the sausage the queso sauce was good, and there was one or two other sauces that were good. The customer service was great the people were very nice and the food did not take a very long time to be prepared and sent out to us this was for my son's birthday.

Sat outside with a couple friends for a girl's night meetup. The server said they are there everyday and it usually lasts a couple hours. Aside from that the food was delicious and it was a nice evening out.

Really decent lunch on a Sunday afternoon! We really had no wait, and the service was prompt and cheerful. My lunch companion is in the habit of blessing people’s hearts — and she means it. She really wants to actually bless your actual heart, sincerely. She blessed our server’s heart, and our server did not miss a beat. That alone was worth a healthy tip. Great TexMex stop!

Today's review: the beloved "Chuy's"! I am quite surprised that I have not included this iconic place as part of my review... 🤔 Anyway, we decided to stop at Chuy's for lunch; and to get ahead of the crowd, we arrived shortly after 11am. As expected, we got seated right the way and the waiter brought chip and salsa plus the creamy jalapeño (Strongly recommended to ask for it). Since we got there early enough and there were many empty tables, after placing the orders, I had the chance to look at the decorations and take few pictures without bothering other customers. For this visit, I decided to go for Steak Burrito, which is stuffed with grilled beef and topped with Hatch Green Chile Sauce (Pretty darn good). As usual, the overall experience we had was excellent and I would recommend to anyone without hesitation.

The food was delicious! I ordered s queso because it wasn't hot, but it ended it up being cooked with Serrano. So I was sick till the following day. I told her I couldn't eat Hot stuff!

It's good, but it used to be great. Chuy's has obviously decided to cut back on spending and it shows, from the lack of salsa bar to the mediocre ingredients, what was once an outstanding mecca of Tex-Mex is now merely good. You can find much better food at lower prices at places like Jardin Corona or Matt's El Rancho, and you probably won't have to wait as long. I'll still go here every once in a while for a specific craving, but the days when Chuy's was top of my list for Tex-Mex have passed. They still have great service, though!

My score is based on a cpl of things: the atmosphere and the ability to order from the menu confidently. A higher score would be given based on these improvements. The atmosphere is loud, the music, the shouting from the music being loud and obnoxious. The bigger room is louder and dim, could hardly hear the staff. The menu would get higher points if pic's were implemented, also a way to measure quantity of portions. Photo of quesadilla appetizer, they are big not small.

I recently visited Chuy’s for lunch and really enjoyed it. The Boom Boom sauce was amazing and the green chile enchiladas were moist and flavorful. The chips and salsa were okay. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!

The place had a nice environment and was rather picturesque. The food was good overall, but what I really liked and appreciated was the customer service. Our waitress was very attentive and nice, and although there were a few mistakes with my food order, the waitress was absolutely dedicated to making it right. Without even asking her, she contacted the kitchen manager. The kitchen manager came to our table and personally talked to me and told me he would make it right. He brought me a new plate of food, but just the way I wanted it. We loved their attentiveness and outstanding customer service. We will definitely be back.

There was a wait when we walked in. It wasn’t too bad- we waited about 25 mins to get a table. The place was busy with it being a Friday night. The salsa and chips are good to get you going till the food arrives. Portions are good. We ordered chicken enchiladas, bean and cheese burritos and a kids meal (beef taco). Food taste was good. The place was busy and our server seemed flustered. He was having a hard time hearing us because of how loud it was. We love Tex Mex food and will always come back to Chuy’s!

I love Chuys but the take out service kinda sucks. 9/10, something random you can’t notice is either missing or replaced with something else random. Not the end of the world to not have beans but definitely a bummer. Also the creamy jalapeño is super inconsistent. Sometimes it’s magical and sometimes it’s super spicy.

We ate out on the covered patio a few days ago. While waiting for our drinks, something fell from the ceiling and landed right next to my son’s foot. It was a large dying rat!!! There are rafters with a fake tiki looking ceiling and it must have eaten some rat poison and finally succumbed. It just missed the table! The waitress called the manager. He came out, quickly swept it away and mumbled something like sorry about that, and left! No true apology. Like this was an everyday occurrence. He took $5 off the bill for our appetizer. Now, had this happened inside the restaurant, we would have left and called the health department, but it’s open to the outside. Not closed in, so things can happen. It was the manager’s lack of caring that was upsetting! We did understand that Chuey’s has changed hands, hence the much smaller menu and watered down drinks and that he was a manager in training. But really!? I hope the health department visits them frequently. By the way, food was good once you got the picture of a rat corpse out of your mind.

Off day for this location. The tea glass was cracked, when I pointed it out because of tea on the table he said. I just thought they over filled it. Well if so, why didn't you wipe it off before serving a sticky tea glass . The queso was runny and cool; it didn't even harden or thicken after sitting. The portions were smaller or not filled properly....I put pictures . The waiter first forgot one of two alcohol orders. Then said he accidentally threw away our order ticket awsy after we waited for food. I asked several times for more jalapeno and salsa; he forgot one had to go back. I asked at the time of payment for tea to go he forgot. We live two hours away. Normally, we have a great experience and I order a bag full of food to take home for a later date. NOT this time. We still tip. Just get it together.....

3rd visit in 2 months and each time my biggest complaint was service related. I have yet to encounter a server that I might describe as both attentive and personable. Instead my experience has been you either get 1 or the other but not both. However, this recent visit was especially disappointing for the fact that despite many attempts to gain our server's attention and at least multiple times making eye contact we were ignored or inadvertently overlooked. In the end, I resorted to having to approach a manager for assistance. If it weren't for the consistently great food turnout, I doubt this location would retain it's steady flow of traffic as it apparently does because it wouldn't be because of great service. It's worth mentioning that if you're on a tight time constraint for something like a lunchbreak, this might not be the best choice.

Food was overly spiced. I chose the least spicy sauce which tasted like just chili powder. Waiter was a bit much. Ease up on the specials and pushing all the add on.

This was me and my family’s first time ever to Chuy’s as my father received a $50 gift card to Chuy’s and I’d have to say, I’m slightly disappointed. I’ve never been a big fan of Tex-Mex food but my parents die for it. The service was okay just like any other diner but my mother’s silverware was dirty as if it wasn’t washed which she was severely disgusted and disappointed with as she too works in the food industry. I ordered a burrito and it was just absolutely drowned and covered in the sauce I ordered. I don’t know if it’s supposed to be like that or not but it made my burrito soggy and I couldn’t taste anything else but the sauce. The meat for my mother and father’s meal seemed over cooked as it was very chewy and dry. My mother had to spit out some of her meat several times. My father ordered queso and it was pretty runny, I don’t know if that’s normal for Chuy’s but it felt as if we were dipping our chops into cheese flavored water than actual queso. The diner feels like a Dennys with a hipster look which in my opinion doesn’t match the food but hey I didn’t design the restaurant. Overall I would come back but not by myself or with my family. I’d come back if I got free food or if someone invited me out to eat and they chose this place. In summary, it wasn’t the best I’ve had but it also wasn’t the worst.

This a good Tex-Mexican location but it felt a little over exaggerated. The workers were really helpful to our party and got us in and out quickly, but the quality of food was decent. I had the steak burrito and it was surprisingly spicy, but it was a good burrito. The chips and salsa were really good and came with some good ranch!

Chuy’s is hands down my favorite restaurant and has been for 10 years. Recently, I’ve noticed that the chicken at the Round Rock location in every dish that I’ve ordered has been really horrible. I’ve had chicken cartilage, chicken bone and gray chicken (instead of white chicken breast) across a variety of dishes (chicken tortilla soup, their famous Chicka Chicka Boom Boom enchiladas and their chicken quesadilla appetizer). I understand that this can happen, but it’s happened five times in the last 2 months and I never had any of these issues before. My most recent experience was on a recent takeout order that included Chicka Chicka Boom Boom enchiladas, check 3796 (I notate the check number for the manager). I’m attaching photos to this review, showing the chicken cartilage and sub par chicken that was in that dish. It really put my appetite off and I had to throw most of it away. I think it’s an easy fix that the manager should change, by holding the kitchen staff accountable to high standards and let them know experiences like mine are certainly NOT ok. I really hope that this location does what os right so I can continue going there. I will post an updated review in a few weeks to let you (the readers) know if Chuy’s has addressed this.

Chuy’s is great, but I am extremely disappointed by my experiences at the Round Rock location. My second catering order from this location arrived without tortillas. For those that have tried them, fajitas without tortillas are essentially inedible, and their suggestion that they could provide me with them the next day (after guests are long gone) was not a solution; it’s not practical and unacceptable. After that experience, I decided I would avoid this location. Months later, I gave it another chance. The food was acceptable, but I found hair in my meal. Out of fairness, in March 2025, I tried again, but the service was painfully slow, and it became clear this location has management problems as it consistently fails to meet basic service and quality standards. I still enjoy Chuy’s (and continue to eat primarily at the Cedar Park location, which provides the level of service and quality I expect) as the food itself is great. However, I live closer to the Round Rock one and would prefer to eat at my local Chuy’s; I’ll happily give it another chance if there is a change in management staff. That is the only way I will have it - I am not confident in this location as it stands today.

This was my first time at Chuys in years. I ordered a "Chuychanga" to-go.. First off, they didnt include any utensils to eat with so I had to go back for those. Otherwise the to-go service was good. Now the chimichanga itself was such a let down. I am not exaggerating when I say it was 90% tortilla. Plus extremely overcooked and hard to cut. I couldnt identify a single piece of chicken in there when eating it. Towards the end, I opened it up and there was the thinnest layer of some sort of filling with very small amount of chicken. Pretty disappointed but there are countless other Mexican food options I will select next time over Chuys.

Terrible! Where do I even start. Our waiter told us oh we don’t have mango margaritas it’s only seasonal. Um..did you just start working at Chuy’s? I go weekly I know the menu probably better than she does. Then there’s confusion on who is supposed to wait our table and the new waiter said yeah we have mango margaritas. We get frustrated and call the manager. She didn’t even care. Didn’t apologize, didn’t acknowledge the waiters wrong doing nothing. Food was terrible. Tortillas were so small and overcooked. Meats overcooked. So bad. Wow. Chuy’s you need to go visit this location and address it.

Went to chuys after a long time, and was highly disappointed, no drinks on tap, even for a Friday took well over and hour wait for our food after we placed the food which was warm at best, now chuys is charging for a small sourcream! This is a huge disappointment the only consolation was that our waitress was great.

m

Let me start off by saying that the food was absolutely amazing and I love Chuys and have been coming to it since I can remember, but I was appalled by the staff at this chuys as in the waiters.. they were very mean and the atmosphere was ridiculously tense. The moment that we walked in, the staff turned around and giggled and walked off mumbling stuff about me/ my group of people which I HEARD audibly. At this point I almost left because I didn't understand what I was doing wrong..besides literally walking in the door and asking for a table. Our waiter was very rude and robotic and clearly was not happy to be there at all. I feel very self conscious now, and you could tell that the staff there were the equivalent to being in high school. It was awful.

I'm a long time patron, since opening, but I've spent my last 50-60 bucks on sub standard food for high dollar dissatisfaction. My panchos were soggy and thrown together. What happened to those special thick, crunchy nacho chips Chuy's used to serve? And served with no sour creme, but rather a handful of dripping jalapenos instead? Was literally a quarter of the way full of liquids! And since Chuy's refuses to go back to their specialty menus of Elvis fried chicken, or basic Chilie Rellenos, there is now for sure, no reason to return.

I wouldn’t say it was bad but the waitress was not great. It was slow, it took 20 min for my margarita. Got my food before even getting my drink and to top it the waitress named Mikayla did something I know a server should not EVER do. I was a server for 7 years and know how things are. You don’t get tipped by everyone and that’s okay, but what she did was totally unacceptable. My friend and I came for lunch and paid separately, the first thing she did wrong was grab the signed receipts before we left(that’s just rude) but to top that off, I had “XXXX” written in the tip part because i was going to leave cash and she asked me “umm did you mean to not put a tip for me?” I was astonished!! You do NOT ever ask a customer that. I replied with “I was going to leave cash”. Okay so proceed about 5 minutes later she came looking around the table for the cash. After this I was just baffled. My friend did leave her a tip but I did not after terrible service and her having the audacity to ask me that. AND THEN THIS IS THE CHERRY ON TOP, my friend and I walked to my car and 2 minutes later Mikayla followed us outside!! She told my friend (cause i had already left) that i said i was going to leave cash and that I didn’t and she was SO mad because “she lives off of that but okay”. Okay and? Be a better person and server, don’t beg for something when you didn’t even deserve it. That was the craziest experience I’ve ever had and i will be sure to make sure she is not my server again. You do not follow customers outside!! That is just ridiculous. I will be watching my card to make sure nothing comes out of it when it was not authorized.

S
Shawna Taylor

it’s Chuy’s - I’m not expected anything above and beyond, but I also am not expecting the bare minimum to not be met. When customers walk into your establishment, you greet them. It doesn’t matter if the host is at the stand or not. I have worked in the service industry for over 10 years in the past (I also just have basic human decency) so I cannot understand how a bartender, and about 5-7 servers can look at customers standing at the host stand and ignore them repeatedly. Especially when most of them were standing around talking to each other, so it clearly wasn’t busy enough to not speak. A simple “Hello. The host will be right with you” goes a long way. I wasn’t gonna allow ya’ll to continue giving me terrible service so me and my boyfriend walked out but we need to have some basic customer service training at this location it seems.

J
Janet

An unwelcomed surprise when I got home. Received my order that I paid for, but also found a 8 oz queso that I did not order. Thought they just put it on the side instead of on my burrito, but my burrito already had queso on it. I opened the container of queso and can see it's a little more runny than it should be. I then I see the small bubbles. I didn't ask for the extra queso and surely didn't want queso with saliva. Never again!

First at this location. I’m so disappointed. I’ll leave it there because it’s Chuy’s I’m a frequent patron, even when in Tampa. This is the most nasty, our food was cold. The rice taste and felt like it was yesterday’s rice. My last!!!

The booth of 4 people sitting behind us in Chuy's Rounf Rock tonight at 5:30 pm was obnoxious and loudly talking and laughing so that every vulgar detail of their conversation could be heard for the entire 45 minutes we were rating in the restaurant. The food and service was ok, but my husband and I could not enjoy our dinner due to the ear piercing talk and laughter of this group. There was a full restaurant of patrons who were respectfully behaving and talking at a normal voice level, but this one group was excessively loud, and not being controlled appropriately by management. Because of this bad experience, we will not be returning.

B
Brooke Yarberry

I wish this Chuy’s was not so close to where I am staying. They have the worst to-go service I have ever seen. I’ve placed four to-go orders of just chips and queso. Each time I have waited 30+ minutes on this order. It does not matter if you place it online ahead of time, go inside and order at the bar, you will wait ever. single. time.

J
Julie Steakley

Extremely disappointed with this experience. I ordered panchos with chicken, beans, and cheese, plus a side of beans. The plate came out with no beans at all on the panchos. I literally had to use my side of beans just to make the dish remotely what I ordered. To make matters worse, the food didn’t come out until almost 2 hours after we arrived, which is completely unacceptable. It also took 55 minutes just to get a drink, and when it finally arrived, it wasn’t even what I ordered. I asked for a margarita on the rocks and was served a Mexican martini instead—a totally different drink, and it was not good. Between incorrect food, missing ingredients, extremely slow service, and poorly made drinks, this visit was a huge letdown. Definitely not the experience I expected, and I won’t be returning
