The owner was very nice, helpful and friendly. The food was great however, it was not as spicy as requested. The place was small but clean inside and outside. There were a great number of food options to choose from. The prices were good, as well.

First time at this establishment, it's a mom and pop, which is good. They offer tasty chicken at reasonable prices. They also offer hamburgers and chicken sandwiches which I did not try yet. If i'm in the Sacramento area in the future, I will be back for more.

Great variety of fried chicken. Well done. Tasty and if you prefer spicy mild or medium etc. See latest menu attached. The ONLY issue is: When placing an order by Phone, the background noise was most the time VERY LOUD. That made ordering EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. Updated photos (July 2024).

Quality is their main focus and it works! Great food, large portions, just amazing. I've had the BBQ Crispy Chicken and the Thick Sourdough so far, both were fantastic! Best garlic fries around, they use real garlic so you can actually taste it.

Food is meant to be eaten as the Chef prepares it, not 30 minutes after, not 45 minutes after. All you people who complain about the quality need to check yourself. This place has always come through with fresh food when eaten as it was meant to be eaten. Also, last I check, this is a Fried Chicken Restaurant, not a burger joint. Like me going to a pizza shop and ordering a falafel and it turns out bad....DUH! Keep on Keepin on HFC! You're chicken is definitely First Class!

This place is very good and consistent with their food. My family loves eating here we get it often. But they don’t really like giving out the sauces… It has been a consistent problem and I hope they fix that or either start serving larger portions of the sauces.

Do not get the coffee cake. It has mold on it and I took a bite without knowing. Food was fresh, fries were well seasoned and crispy. One piece of chicken was extremely dry and one was juicy. Chicken also lacks a little flavor.

I think this place must’ve changed owners because the reviews don’t match what I experienced. Honestly, it was disappointing. I got the 8-piece chicken bucket, and the chicken seemed like it was just ready-to-cook pieces bought from a wholesaler—nothing special or signature about it. It had a plain taste and was cooked in burnt oil, making it hard to eat. I only managed to get through two pieces before feeling sick. The mac & cheese was just macaroni swimming in watery cheese. On top of that, the price jumped from $21.99 to $33.99 in just four months. A 50% increase for food this bad? No thanks. I regret trying this place. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone!

A four piece platter with fries on the side for my husband. Unfortunately, the crispy chicken was dry and cold, making it utterly disgusting. My husband’s four piece platter with fries was equally disappointing, it was also cold. The fires and the chicken appeared to have been cooked in old oil, which contributed to the overall unpleasant taste of the food. It’s disheartening to compare the quality of the food to what it was about four years ago, when it was much fresher. To make matters worse, we all felt sick when we got home and have been experiencing stomach problems ever since.

We wanted to try this place based on the reviews, but we had to walk out. While looking at the menu and you can see the kitchen and the cooking area. We observed a cook cross contaminate raw chicken and onions on the same cutting board. For some reason he would cut one onion and with the same knife, cut raw chicken, then back and forth between onions and raw chicken without washing his knife or using separate prep areas. Then somehow he dropped an onion and chicken on the ground. We saw him pick up the onion first and proceed to cut it then he picked up the raw chicken that he dropped on the ground. He looked back and saw that we saw him so he rinsed it with water and proceeded to put it back on the board and cut it for customers to eat. Me and my wife couldn’t believe what we were seeing. We just walked out after seeing that. We really wanted to try this place but not after seeing that.

BEWARE - ALL OF THE CHICKEN IS SPICY After trying just a small bite, I tried to return my order because I had said that I can't eat hot spicy food. Two employees swore up and down that my fried chicken order was not spicy. They convinced me that it was the temperature. After a long drive home, tried it again and gagged on the spices. Gave it to my husband who also confirmed the spiciness. I won't be back.
