Liver and onions is one of my favorite meals, but not easy to find on the menu at most restaurants. I know it's not everyone's taste, but I'm making a point of how diverse the menu is. Even your pickiest eaters will find something they will like. On this day, it was the first time I was near the coffee station. It was incredible to see how many of the serving staff popped in and out of there, each of them starting fresh pots of coffee. No one server left an empty pot, they very quickly started a new pot. Why should you care, this is what it looks like when the staff are in sync working as a team. This location had one of the BEST serving staff I've experienced at a restaurant.

We visited Jim’s on Thanksgiving Day and loved everything about it! Our server Nikiya was the kindest, most welcoming server. The food came out quickly and accurately and everyone enjoyed their meals. Our table ordered the tortilla soup, liver and onions and a classic turkey dinner. It was a great way to celebrate Thanksgiving.

I love breakfast all day and Jim's delivers. Wife wanted a Frontier Burger and loved it. Great waiter, fast service, very polite and kept the drinks full.

Stopped in to get a Tortilla soup and a Cheeseburger. The gentleman that helped me out was so friendly and professional. And of course got to see a staple of Jim's "Jose" who has been with Jim's for decades. The food was so delicious. Hot and fresh. Great service great food. A plus spot in San Antonio.

Had the pleasure to come here 6/10/25 for breakfast with my family as well as my parents and everything about our experience was great. Our waitress was super sweet and the food was amazing! If you’ve never tried their biscuits you absolutely have to try them because omg they were delicious 🤤 I ordered the eggs Benedict and my plate was perfect and I think those hashbrowns were probably the best I’ve had. And of course you can’t beat the prices. Super affordable. I hope to go back soon!

One of the best Jim's out there. Went on a packed Sunday morning and was still seated in less than 10 minutes. Our server was friendly, helpful and stayed on top of it all. Got the Texas Two Step (2 eggs, bacon, pancakes) and was way better than most iHops or Denny's. Cooks be cookin. Staff deserves a raise.

This restaurant is the one I miss the most since moving away from SA years ago. I don't feel a visit to the city is complete without getting a #3 and onion rings. (No lettuce) The original did not have it. Breakfast is great here too. I've heard all the other meals are good too. I would not know since I only order the Frontierburger. Why mess with perfection?

It wasn't very crowded at all (being the day after Christmas). Table service was great, but it took a long time to receive our food. You can see the kitchen, and two of the three guys seemed to be just chatting, so that did get a little frustrating. As a result, our meals were not ready I at the same time, so one sat for almost 10 minutes before they were finally delivered. Our waitress was aware of this, and she offered to have fresh food made, but we declined her offer since we had already been waiting so long. The pork chops (that we had been waiting for) were overcooked and tough, but everything else was tasty & satisfying.

I don't get how someone gave this place a 1 star review cause of a simple mistake of cheese. You could've simply told them they are super sweet and will always try to fix it. Second did this person even see if the waiter or waitress was new?.. maybe next time don't be petty over cheese and just talk to the waiters they are all the sweetest.

The food is great. Too bad you can't enjoy it. It's too cold in here. The HVAC fan is turned on to hurricane force winds. The air blows to hard near the windows. My fries got cold right away. I saw many others asking to be moved to another table. If you come, bring a parka and be ready to eat fast or take it to go.

Overall the food was satisfactory. I got the Huevos rancheros plate. You get three eggs with this plate. The sausage was kind of cold and the hash browns were good. The waitress was very friendly.

Waited 43 mins for our food. Waitress came and asked us what we ordered again like she forgot. Finally got food, some of it was fresh and some was cold. Patty in burger was super burnt. Maybe it was a bad day for Jim's that day .. Don't think I will go back.

I recently visited Jim's restaurant and ordered a $10.81 meal, but the portions were surprisingly small. The meatloaf serving was a thin slice from the edge of the loaf. Furthermore, the corn serving did not fill the smal saucerl, and the mashed potatoes were soft, with a small portion size and excessive gravy. This experience was disappointing, and I do not plan to return. Upon observing another customer's plate, I noticed that their portions were significantly larger, with a meatloaf serving twice the size of mine. It appeared that the cooks were inconsistent in their portion sizes, seemingly serving whatever they pleased without regard for consistency. Additionally, I observed an employee eating and using their phone in the serving area. I only wish it had a place to post a photo of my plate. Also it was very warm and uncomfortable in the restaruant.

Jim's served a Food Bank Thanksgiving meal. Green beans were cold and had only soft onions added to them. Turkey had brown gravy, mashed potatoes were good. Stuffing was burnt all the way in the edges

I came here the other day expecting to enjoy a nice meal, but instead left feeling disgusted and uncomfortable. While dining, I overheard a member of the staff (Steven) make a racist and ignorant remark, and no one on staff corrected or addressed it. I wasn’t going to write this review at first, but after thinking about it, I felt it was important to speak up. No amount of good food or ambiance excuses that kind of behavior. It reflects poorly not just on that individual, but on the management that allows such attitudes to exist in their establishment. I truly hope this restaurant takes accountability and implements proper training and disciplinary action, because until then, I can’t in good conscience recommend this place to anyone who values respect and inclusivity.
