Opiniones de Mariscos Gissel San Blas
But with apologies to Chef Betty Vazquez, the best chef in Nayarit, I was once again enchanted by the incomparable stuffed pineapple from "Coupon," who runs a small restaurant at the entrance to San Blas called "Gisel." It's truly the most delicious thing I've ever tasted, and it was worth the trip to try another one. And their coconut shrimp (with real coconut), charred lobster sius, grilled marlin, and mummy shrimp are delicious.
Honestly, I don't understand why it has so many bad reviews. The seafood they serve there is excellently seasoned, the lobster is delicious, and the prices are reasonable. I feel like someone is just jealous and decided to give it bad reviews because I highly recommend it.
We ordered a Gissel platter, which has several types of grilled fish 🐟, but the marlin was definitely a delight!! 😋 The platter cost $1200 and we had leftover meat for dinner. Excellent service from Eric!!
The food is very good. I know I won't be too picky because of the area. Reading the reviews, it's not that it's dirty. It's just soot from cooking food over a wood fire. The price is reasonable. I think they should install an extractor fan; it would help a lot!
We got the marlin, which had a delicious flavor and texture. The shrimp (not lobster) left a lot to be desired. The drinks were lukewarm, but the locals were super friendly, very attentive, and warmly welcoming.
Very bad experience! The place is very dirty. There's no fan in this hot climate. The service was poor and slow. I ate oysters that weren't fresh. The waiter doesn't know how to open them. I also had grilled fish, and it was delicious. But the waiter brought another piece of fish I didn't choose. She later changed it. But the price was reasonable.
I ordered a sarandeado (grilled fish). It was already very dry. And the flavor was nothing like it was supposed to be. It's terrible to offer food that's already dried out. The cleanliness was also poor.
What a huge disappointment! The food was incredibly greasy. I bought a lobster, some shrimp, and a hamburger, and it came to over 650 pesos, and we didn't like any of it. The place is incredibly stuffy and has no air conditioning. Prices are high, the food is terrible, and to top it off, they don't clean the seafood properly. I definitely don't recommend it. The one in the picture cost 180 pesos and wasn't even presented well. The service from the staff was good, though.
The food was mediocre, the portions were awful, the salad was as diverse as a plate of grass. If I had known this was going to be the experience, I would have bought a kilo of croquettes. I think a Viking from Oxxo, outside the public restrooms, would have been more gratifying; I felt practically culinary raped. Terrible taste, terrible atmosphere. I sat on a chair that literally had cobwebs and exposed nails. It was a mistake to expect more from a place like that, and even worse, to eat most of my plate. I hope I get diarrhea because I don't want this food fiasco inside me.
The service was the only good thing; a young guy served us and brought everything quickly. I didn't like almost anything I tried; everything was greasy. The only thing that was somewhat okay was the grilled fish. The hamburger, which is supposed to be the only alternative if you're with people who don't eat seafood, was greasy and didn't taste good. I didn't finish it. My brother gave the shrimp cocktail a 2 out of 5. The michelada wasn't good either. Personally, I wouldn't go back. What I did appreciate was that they turned the fan towards us.
The grilled fish was overheated and very tough. The cocktail was inedible, the shrimp and octopus very tough. The French fries were cold. It seemed very expensive, and they charge for terminal use.
I wouldn't call this san blas experience. The food was pretty bland. My family came in expecting some what good food they were all disappointed... music is to loud, services was like "hurry up and order" the waitress did not care what so ever.... bathrooms where dirty, this place what hot ... dont want to say more... but i would avoid this place.
Arrived waited like 10 min to get the menu. The waiter came back like 10 min later, she acted like if she was in a hurry... food was bland (i ordered an aguachile) when my food came it wasn't great... not the san blas i was waiting for. Would go somewhere else next time Ps: cats and dogs roaming the restaurant
Terrible place. We paid $800 between two people for a tasteless meal, a small portion, and just one drink! It's excessive for a place that looks dirty and untidy, the service is poor, and everything is generally bad. The waitress also openly told us they serve food from the day or previous days, which explains why we got salmonella. Don't go!
