Preguntas frecuentes sobre Lulu's
Opiniones de Lulu's San Carlos
I typically order food here through doordash. The food is always on point. A few items I recommend: 1. Chimichangas - Very crunchy and flavorful. Not greasy 2. Taco-dilla with birria - cheesy meaty goodness with the consome. It's perfection. 3. Super burrito - perfect balance in every bite 4. Taco salad - I love the crunchy taco shell with the fresh salad and steak. 5. Chips and guac - Made in house and the chips are thick and crunchy. The guac is fresh with a little bit of crunch from the onions. One of these days, I need to check it out to get the full experience.
So me and my partner were hungry and looking for a sushi place to eat before our GDG meeting at Google HQ. We found two places to get sushi close to us but they were both closed, that's when we can across Lulu's. We were hungry so we just went in because tacos are always good to eat when your hungry, man on man the food here blew us away. We come from the central valley were there a taco place or truck on every corner, but these tacos we're out of this world. This was hands down the best Mexican food I have ever had, can't wait to go back up to the bay so we can go back and eat there!
I ordered chicken nachos with no beans for a snack. It is very good and the people that work here are nice. Love how smiley they were.

I order from here probably 2-3 times/ a week. Consistently good. Offers gluten free tortilla - I’m celiac and I rarely get “gluten’d” here. They have a standard procedure where they change their gloves change equipment - and are very receptive when you call to inform about allergy. Highly recommend if your a burrito connoisseur like me. There’s very few places that offer this option, so we really appreciate their services!
Every time I come here the staff is so friendly and helpful. Always clean, easy to order and delicious food! Pozole is a fav and the spinach tortilla burritos.
Good counter service option on Laurel Street. We’ve eaten here a few times. It’s good in that I like a few specific menu items that we tend to reorder and they are consistently enjoyable. Ambiance/location is great and good for bringing friends or visitors for a casual bite before or after strolling Laurel Street
This has become our go to place for Mexican takeout. Consistently great quality and flavors! Good place for dining in as well. Love their chopped salad and low card burrito options.

Baja themed Mexican serving fantastic food with a lively, outdoorsy atmosphere. If it wasn't for the expensive price (compared to the food you get), I might've even given it 5 stars. Eating at a place like Lulus... you know this isn't your date spot nor for a special occasion. You just want some great tacos and beer and that's exactly what you get. And even if it is in the middle of Laurel street, there is a certain price that you simply cannot cross... $7.75 for a single taco is pushing it, even if it may taste great. The atmosphere is somewhat lively but also the loud crowd and lines forming inside the restaurant throw off the balance. Even with all of this, this place deserves another visit.
They were extremely nice and very friendly and the salads were big and good for the large size, but they had some technical difficulties with the iPad and were unable to charge my card properly. As a result, they had to write it down which is unsafe and made my friends and I wait awhile. But the food was good!
The service is very quick. Good food. Vegetarian friendly.

Went in for lunch on a Monday, and we were able to order at the counter without a wait. The food tasted so fresh and was very flavorful. Like most places, Lulu's can't guarantee cross-contamination of gluten free items won't occur, but I felt comfortable as a celiac because most things are gluten free aside from the flour tortillas.

First time trying this location. Because it's local. Been to several other locations in the area for burritos and Mexican food. Have to say food is okay but when it comes to flavor and good salsas they just don't have it. Plus the chips and salsa you have to pay for above and beyond your meal. There are several locations in the area that have better flavor and you are paying probably $5 less if you add the chips salsa items to your meal.
The food is not bad at all, but there is nothing spectacular about it either. I ordered the shrimp super burrito, which--with a bottled water--came to $14.50. I thought that this was a little overpriced for what I received. I am used to making two meals out of a super burrito, and this was definitely a one meal burrito. The ingredients were fresh-tasting, but no flavor really stood out. Not bad for quick bite, but nothing I would go out of my way for, either.
We have ordered from Lulu's occasionally during the pandemic and been satisfied. Our general practice is to use the online ordering directly linked from the restaurant website or order by phone as we understand this maximizes revenue for the restaurant vs. using one of the popular online ordering apps. However this evening we were unable to order using either method. The website we were referred to generated errors and later reported the restaurant was not accepting online orders. When we called the restaurant no one picked up the phone. After the management's response, we ordered about a week later and had no issues. We can definitely understand that businesses have staffing shortages.

Overpriced. Low quality. And not great service from the staff. We ordered enchiladas and burritos. The enchilada plate could have come from a Swanson's TV dinner. Then it had this salad with this vinaigrette on it that leeched down into the enchiladas. Ruined the dish. The rice and beans were not bad. But at a cost of what would be about three times the amount to go to taco Bell, taco Bell would have been 10 times better! This is not the worst Mexican restaurant that I've ever been to but there are just so many others that are better anywhere else at half the cost.
VERY LAME - which is too bad, because we'd like to be able to go here often. But overall our second visit was poor. Chicken burrito was the hilight - warm not hot, but good quality ingredients. Kids order wrong. Chicken tortilla soup was almost cold. And check out my picture of the $10.50 order of chips/salsa/guacamole. Ouch. The table area was pretty sloppy. If you live near Campbell and want food like this do the smart thing - go to Aqui. Or Baja Fresh.

It is really disappointing to see how businessess have reduced the ingredients and service and have outrageously raised their prices. I used to go to Lulu's and they were good. Today I went and found them to be terrible. The food was so salty, and had very little of the main ingredient that I had ordered. The price was almost double to what I used to pay. I asked for extra salsa and was told basically, NO. Will not go there again. There are so many better places.
Very disappointing experience. I have eaten at their Menlo Park location for many years. This was my first and last time at the San Carlos location. I ordered veggie fajitas. The veggies were NOT seasoned at all, and were not grilled, so they had no flavor. I’m not sure how they were cooked. They did not serve the typical sides you normally get with fajitas. NO crema or guacamole. Only gave me 4 taco sized tortillas and 3 small to go plastic containers with different salsas, which was not enough for an order of fajitas. I went to order more and they wanted to charge me for it. I decided not to pay more for items that should have been provided, especially since the meal was not good at all and was already expensive. We went there around 7:00PM to eat. They started to immediately clean up the cooking/kitchen area after we were served our food, which seemed too early.

We've eaten here a few times before but after tonight, f this place. They gave our door dasher the wrong food. Then when we called to talk to someone about it, they didn't have anyone available to bring us our food. Manager was indignant when I asked for him to bring it over. Only makes sense, his staff screwed up, he should at least offer to bring our correct order over. Food is great, but staff is incredibly incompetent.
