Street food style build your own pasta . Very fresh ingredients, feels wholesome. Portion sizes are similar to any mall cafe. Signature combination pastas listed in the menu are great already. Gnocchi with garganzola Fondue is a must try if you are into white pastas.
I can't believe this is in the middle of a mall food court! De Nunno actually makes their pastas and sauces fresh every day, and you can customize it any way you like! They even have vegetarian (vegan if you don't get cheese) and gluten-free options. It's fun to watch them make your dish through the window too. We decided on 2 different types of pasta: Conchiglie with a signature creamy mushroom and sausage sauce, and a traditional spaghetti caccio e peppe with shrimp & burrata added on. Both of these were so good! The texture of the pasta is amazing - al dente with a nice bouncy chewy mouth-feel that you get only from the freshest pasta. The sauces were so flavorful, and the burrata was also so nice and fresh and creamy too. We definitely need to head back there to try more!
They just opened in the UTC food court, right next to the ice-skating rink, and I suspect this will be the place to go all summer long for high-quality pasta and freshly made sauces.
Wonderful pasta, esp., sausage and mushroom. The cheesy pasta can be very heavy though.
By far best pasta ever tried in la Jolla! I ran into De Nunno while doing shopping at utc and it was such a delightful surprise. I got the carbonara spagetti with extra parmigiano: the texture was way beyond perfect and the flavour was well balanced. As you can see in the menu pic, they only serve traditional recipes or authentic specialties. If you want to give a chance to De Nunno forget about fake Italian recipes like Alfredo or chicken extra topping, they don’t even have them. Can’t wait to get back soon to try the ragu bolognese 😍
Fresh and tasty large portion of pasta
4th time here and still as delicious! Always our post shopping meal.
As an Italian living in the US I tried their fresh packaged pasta. Very happy with the result. Even after cooking it at home the texture was perfect!
The food is amazing, and the staff are always very friendly!
Love this place! Authentic and big portions! I’m always coming back for more 😍
Amazing service! Easy to order and the food was ready quickly. The carbonara was incredible.. make sure to get extra guanciale!

This is the most unexpected gem at the mall. I got the pesto with gnocchi and it was delicious. I absolutely can’t wait to go back and try more. It was incredibly convenient and great portion sizes for the price. Both my husband and I split the gnocchi and still had some left over. I’m not even a big fan of cannolis but I want to try one from there because it looks incredible.
Authentic, wonderful Italian food. Fresh pasta. I was so happy when I saw real carbonara and cacio e pepe on their menu. I haven’t had guanciale in years. They even have arribbiata sauce. I’ve had to make all of these meals at home because it’s so uncommon to see them made traditionally at restaurants… until today! Delicious food.
This is my go to spot for pasta whenever I’m shopping at UTC. You can tell that the pasta is made fresh and every order is made in front of you. Been here several times and my go to is always the vodka penne or the mushroom pasta bowl. Definitely add the burrata cheese if you can.
I love this place! Their creamy mushroom is my favorite, always cooked to perfection with original ingredients and that warm customer service that keeps me coming back. Prices are pretty good considering how much they serve, I would even say a little cheap for such great quality. If you ever feel like pasta, try it out!

Food was amazing, but I was served sour tiramisu. I mean , they gave it to me complimentary so no harm no foul. I was only slightly disappointed I didn't get to try it in all its glory

We did door dash, so I can't actually comment on things like service or atmosphere. What I can comment on is the food. The desserts were exceptional, but my Pink Salmon Vodka pasta was inedible. The pasta was doughy without being flavorful, but that's not what bugged me. The salmon in the dish tasted musty, like the scent of an old lakeside cabin that has been shut for the winter, and you're walking in to open it up in spring and it smells like an old attic chest full of great-grandpa's mildewy old papers and clothes. At 59, I've never tasted salmon like this, so I Googled, "What would make salmon taste musty?" Answer was, "Fish can taste musty due to a compound called geosmin, which is produced by algae and bacteria in the water where the fish are raised. Farmed fish absorb geosmin through their gills, which can cause the fish to taste musty." I took two bites. First bite was mostly pasta, dough-like but not awful. Second was a mouthful of musty salmon. I didn't want to wake in the night yakking my guts out because the fish tasted funny, so I stopped eating. I'd rather be hungry in the night than regretful.
Pasta (spaghetti in my case) is consistently overcooked and becomes mushy, even when I requested al dente. While sauce is good and pasta is fresh, I cannot justify spending at least $14 for a small portion of mushy pasta.

Super overpriced for what you get. I’m Italian and the pasta was very overcooked and sauce was bland with no flavor. I got a few bites in before dumping it in the trash. Sad to say I spent $20 on that.
Terrible experience, nothing Italian about it! I came to this restaurant expecting an authentic Italian experience, but I was deeply disappointed. The pasta was completely overcooked, with no texture at all, and the sauce was bland and flavorless. Calling this place an “Italian restaurant” is an insult to real Italian cuisine. The service was just as bad: inattentive staff, long waiting times, and a lack of professionalism. We had to ask multiple times for water, and our requests were mostly ignored. Definitely not worth the visit!
