We really enjoyed our meal here! We had the chimichanga, beef and bean burrito, and a couple of rolled tacos. The chimichanga was definitely our favourite! We also had the churros which had a fruit filling (strawberry?) and we're delicious.

Hands down. Thank God for the señoritas in the kitchen. Puts a lot of love into their service. Well done carne asada and very flavorful. Absolutely the best hand made tortillas i’ve tasted.

This is the real deal. Great food, polite service, good place for traditional and gringos like me. Breakfast burritos and tamales are fantastic. A little set back from University. Look for AppleTree Liquor sign. With the trip.

Been going there since 2013 and my top picks are Chile Verde Burrito, Breakfast Burrito, or Carne Asada Fries. Sometimes I call ahead of time or order in person, or I send my friend to get the food. Today 4/4/17 I decided to call ahead, and its been a while I hvnt been there. I tried to order Chile Verde burrito and the girl stated that there's no such thing,only the plate option. I was confused, she said they have never made any Chile Verde "burrito". Ended driving over and talk to them in person, so apparently both the girl taking orders and the chef guy are NEW employees. So I told them I've always order the burrito. Took me sometime to convince them, at the end I got my Chile Verde Burrito!! .. no bad arguments happened, I think they did great w costumers service. For that I had to tip them.. so I give them 5 stars!

Place is hidden away from plain view but is the epitome of hole in the wall Mexican food joint! It's a hidden gem. Got the carne asada fries, small order. Look at that size! Most places would give you a lot less. The thin cut fries were cooked well and carne asada is flavorful and well done. Comes with cheese, sour cream, guac and cotija. If you're from San Diego you'd know most joints won't give you both sour cream and guac so I was pleasantly surprised. This is the classic San Diegan carne asada fries and you won't be disappointed! Hot sauce was flavorful as well. They do have an extra spicy jalapeno hot sauce that's perfectly complements the fries.

Ive always recommend this place for the last 2 years but when I was there today either the servers or cashiers child and friend were caught throwing stuff and jumping at my small senior dog that was tied outside 5ft from the door.... on top of finding a black hair in my food when eating so I will not be back... I hate leaving negative reviews but for the cashier/server whoever to defend someone that was clearly seen attacking a barely 15 pound dog tied outside... then finding a hair in my food... This place has good food but it isn't sanitary and they don't hold anyone accountable for wrongdoings.

We simply asked for our money back since we didn’t want the food and the staff was very rude about it and told us they couldn’t give us a refund. We didn’t even want to take the food and they still didn’t want to give us a refund. The manager started recording us for no reason and got my plates??? From my car??? When he could’ve simply given us a refund and we would’ve left. This restaurant has the worst customer service ever.
