Opiniones de Van Ness Cafe & Gyros San Francisco
It was late after a show we were hungry with no place to go. We googled restaurants and found this spot. What a refreshing little place. The food was fantastic, the service was fast, the place was clean, and the owner was a wonderfully kind man who met our every need. I highly recommend anything on the menu as well as the hot tea and all the wonderful deserts.
4.5 will be my Rating Chicken gyros Chicken semi cooked, Didn’t like it, though they cut it off the grill but smelly inside Apart from that everything was delicious!
Had an absolutely lovely time at this cozy cafe. We ordered a combo gyro plate and two gyro wraps (1 combo, 1 lamb/beef) thinking we’d have just enough to satiate our hunger, but we ended up taking an entire gyro wrap home! The portion sizes are generous and we received great service. The Turkish black tea smelled amazing and was a delicious end to a great meal. Also loved their hot sauce; it satisfied the kick I wanted without overdoing the heat. Ultimately, the price of food, portion sizes, quality, and overall cleanliness made this a spot we’ll be sure to come back to next time we’re in San Francisco.
Very nice little Turkish cafe. I had the lamb and beef gyro. The hot sauce was very tasty and not too spicy. They have some items off the menu, such as Iskandar (my favorite) so check the order kiosk if you're looking for something else. The proprietor and employees were very friendly and the cafe was clean.
The food is really well priced and the portion sizes are generous. The dessert was the most exciting though! Very good quality and taste. Their baklava and cheesecake and Turkish delights are all must try items! The beef and lamb combo is the best option imo
I rarely write reviews but had to on this one. The amount of food you get for thr price in this economy is amazing. The kofta kebabs were juicy, cooked perfectly and seasoned well! Highly recommend. Not pictured is the puta bread and side sauce that comes with. Do give them a try!
Cute little spot with Mediterranean food I wish they had real Greek salads but it was good
This place serves the best wraps I’ve had in San Francisco, no contest. The flavors are so good they instantly remind me of the Mediterranean, and the customer service is top-notch they really make you feel welcome. Plus, the prices are super reasonable for the quality. Highly recommend💯👌
Had an amazing Lamb and Beef Gyros, and the Greek fries were amazing!
This is the most authentic Döner I’ve had in SF (I’ve tried many of them)! It’s the only place I’ve seen that has the meat on a vertical spit, like they do in Türkiye. I’m so happy I came by, the prices are very fair, the restaurant is clean, and the owner is super nice. I came here twice during the same week to try more items. The combo gyro on a pita, was exceptional, you can tell that the meat is high quality and cooked perfectly. The second time I got the Mediterranean combo place which was unreal (lamb, chicken shish kabob, kofte, and both gyro meats), with rice, salad and hummus. Literally every item tastes good, highly recommend this if you’re hungry. Lastly, the Turkish coffee is also great! I honestly can’t say enough good things about this spot, you gotta come try it out!
The meat was incredibly tender and cooked to perfection. They’ve really raised the bar when it comes to flavor. If you’re a meat lover, this place is a must-visit.

Food is absolutely delicious and authentic! I loved the spicy red sauce! Special thanks to the owner. He was very attentive and even got me a hot tea cause he saw that I was cold! Also I highly recommend to try they desserts!
I just want to this restaurant and was blown away by the exceptional service! The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a great experience. The food was absolutely delicious, and the cherry on top was the complimentary Turkish tea served with delightful sweets—it was the perfect touch. I'll definitely be returning soon!"😊☺️
LOVE this place!!! So yummy—the bowls are really good and big portions! I appreciate they’re open late and parking is typically easy after 10! Service is also good. They’re always really friendly. Highly recommend!
This place is amazing! The foods are packed with flavor and super fresh, and the portions are generous. The staff are really friendly and make you feel welcome right away. It’s a very cozy place but the food honestly hits the spot every time.
I ordered appetizer bowl .. it is vegetarian dish and amazing.. the service is very friendly and warm. I tried the desert too, home made and very good 👍

The food was delicious and contained ample options. The owner was a very nice guy named Vedat , who got us our food in a timely matter and offered us a cup of tea! Will definitely make my way here again when I'm in the area.

This place was a pleasant surprise. Comfortable seating and atmosphere, excellent customer service and delicious food with very generous portions. Some of the best Mediterranean food I’ve had in a long time. The Kofte was juicy and very well seasoned and the appetisers completed the dishes nicely.
My husband and I went to lunch here and was amazed that they had the desert that we liked. It was called the Turkish delight. I love it. The only other place I got was at the Marina. Anyway, I thought the gyro was OK and the desert was best. The service was easy and fast. The restaurant was a little bit older.
Excellent food, speedy and friendly service. Dining area is quite comfortable and nicely decorated - notably better than expected for an otherwise casual restaurant. Definitely worth visiting regularly. They also have Dubai Chocolates if you’re looking for those 😉
Lovely restaurant with wonderful people. The portions are large and the staff attentive and caring. Love the subtle spices of Lebanese food.

Service and atmosphere were awesome but the gyro chicken I ate tasted stale. Chicken tasted like it was just reheated.. I wouldn’t recommend it. The salad tasted great, humus tasted fresh though. Ambience was just ok.
