Swedish style of food... very affordable and good quality

The furniture I got came in 1000 small little pieces I followed the instructions and after 2 hours of putting it together I did one step wrong and it ruined the $80 furniture. Save your money and time and shop anywhere else that you don’t have to be a carpenter out of nowhere.. On a second thought maybe I should be more patient.. thank you ikea 🥸

Great meatballs, spacious cafeteria, fun juices, tasty desserts. The whole package!

First time ever going to IKEA or the restaurant, the food was great! It's not extraordinary or super fancy but it feeds and is definitely an experience. When we went there were also a few other families ordering and sitting in the common dining area. The method is simple, you move from one end of the cafeteria to the other with a tray, grab what you want out of their displays (except the meatballs, those plates are created on the spot). Their soup is also self serve. The 12 meatball option is fairly cost effective! It ends up being a little under a dollar each but it comes with a side of mashed potatoes and peas. The lingonberry jam is also really tasty! My only prior experience was the Pewdiepie Gfuel flavor and that doesn't hold a candle to the real thing. I also liked the little Swedish flags on the dishes!

The Cafe in IKEA was very good. We had the plate of Swedish meatballs and they were delicious! Could have used a little salt and pepper but you can add that once you sit down. The portion size was perfect and there just wasn't many, if any, complaints. Staff were nice, atmosphere was relaxing. They have $2 breakfast plates that come with eggs, bacon or sausage, potatoes, Swedish pancakes (crepes) with their infamous jam. I didn’t get meat so they let me get a double serving of eggs or potatoes. Wasn't the most amazing eggs, but for $2 a whole plate of food! Was great for keeping away the hunger while running around ikea.

What can go wrong with meat balls! Cheap and quick meal.

Best coffee!! I go for the breakfast and coffee. I just love the coffee machine. The latte is great. Ikea members receive free coffee, that is the best part. The down side is long lines, alot of people, sometimes hard to find a table.

Quality and price meet to make for meal worth standing in line for. The people are actually nice too. One of the best dining values around.

Ok. I'm from Sweden. Partial & protective of the good IKEA name. Have come here since 2007. Spent tens of thousands of dollars on whole house remodeling projects here. Always been an evangelist and booster and supporter of the IKEA brand, the IKEA philosophy. Not so sure anymore. Ingvar Kamprad is dead. Legally it's not even a Swedish company, but Dutch. The more global this corporation has become the less true to its original vision it's become. No surprise there. I guess I'm expressing grief and loss over what once was IKEA, now barely distinguishable from the rest of the heartless, soulless and deadly global corporations. Ingvar & IKEA: rest in peace. Hopefully on a really comfortable Sultan mattress.

IKEA's restaurant used to be a way better deal. Now it's just ok. They got rid of the espresso machine, raised the prices, and the diameter of the regular Swedish meatballs seem smaller. My wife and I like salmon and cod, so along with our regular meatballs order, we decided to try the salmon balls. Their texture was dry as if too many bread crumbs were used and they tasted a little fishy (in a bad way). We were also given 7.25 instead of the usual 8; not a biggie but it added to our overall disappointment. I was still a bit hungry, so I headed across the parking lot to Costco for a $1.50 giant hot dog and Pepsi. Kudos to Costco for never skimping on the size or increasing the price, or requiring membership to eat their food. Update: Went for their Friday 50% off hot entrees deal. Got the 12 Swedish Meatballs entree , Cod entree, and Chicken Tenders entree. The Swedish Meatballs were very good. The Cod was good, but a little thinner than expected. The Chicken Tenders were dry, tough and the breading was too thick and chewy. So we wouldn't get the chicken again. Update: Got the Swedish Meatballs entrees and the Cod entrees. All were good. Update: Got the Swedish Meatballs entrees and Salmon entrees. All were good. Update: Got a Swedish Meatballs entree, Mac & Cheese, and two Swedish Apple Cakes. Everything was good. Meatballs are a predictable favorite. Desert is hit or miss. Last time, the strawberry shortcake was so good, we came back in two days. It was not on the menu. Beverage machines often malfunction and there is no note to let you know.

Super disappointed in my dining experience today. The Swedish meatballs were nowhere near as good as I remembered. It had been ~5 years since I ate here and they were delicious back then. The fries were cold, the service was terrible. It’s just gone downhill over the last several years. Of course, the price is still great which is why I give it 3-stars.

Lunch time out of everything, huge line only one person fixing plates. Asked for knives the lady said she has no idea where can I get one.

We went in to do some looking around and have lunch, upon arriving at the Ikea restaurant we were greeted by items were not available. That included all cooked vegies, garlic bread, fish and salads. We were honestly stunned at the lackadaisical staff, oblivious unmotivated, and a careless attitude. One checkout line was closed, with a line up to pay. Worst experience ever. We have eaten there in the past with no issues.

However, my recent visits have taken a turn for the worse due to the rude staff, which has been increasingly disappointing. It's clear they’re understaffed, which may explain the irritation on their faces and in their attitudes, but that’s no excuse for the poor attitude. I've dealt with employees who act like helping customers is a burden to them. Frustrating doesn’t even begin to cover it! Lately, the rudeness I’ve encountered has deterred me from returning. One employee in particular, an African American lady named Pam, has been the worst of them all. It’s disheartening to feel unwelcome while trying to enjoy a shopping experience. On the other hand, there is another African American woman Im not sure of her name but she is an absolute delight. Friendly, informed, and a smile on her face with every interaction I’ve had with her. I’m sure Ikea Restaurant Fenton Employees know who this is because nobody else even comes close to her amazing service. I love the meatballs, but it’s not worth dealing with the customer service that needs major improvement. If things don’t change, I won’t hesitate to take my business elsewhere.

hot dog was bland and pizza tasted like apple sauce. Got to costco instead (they are cheaper too)

Went shopping today at IKEA, also decided to have a late lunch there. As usual, and as I've done many times in the past, we ordered the swedish meatballs. After receiving our dishes and finding a seat we dug in. The meatballs were rock hard, overcooked, and had a weird flavor. So we enjoyed the mashed potatoes and the broccoli that we had and dumped everything else. Left shortly after I threw up, and my wife threw up when we arrived home. I don't know what has happened to Ikea in San diego, but the food we ate there today was awful and obviously had something wrong with it. They probably need to be closed down again not for covid, but because of poison food. Even though it looks nice and it used to be nice to eat there and kind of fun, don't do it now unless you have a cast iron stomach or you're deciding to commit suicide!

I went in with low expectations but the remodeled Ikea bistro has to be the most joyless, disappointing food outlet I've ever encountered? Time and money were spent to reorient and renovate the old downstairs food stand. What they've come up with is bleak and uninviting. Anybody who sees the place would agree. What could be a fun, colorful, inviting little hot dog cart is less pleasant than the food line at a county jail. What a bummer! And the food is no better. The day I was there they were out of beverages, the hot dog was stale, old tasting, and unappetizing and how it looked. I could have opted for a dried out cinnamon roll or a slice of pizza that looked like. It'd been under the heat lamp since the day before, but decided the hot dog was the best way to go. I was wrong. There is no best way to go. How do you goof up a hot dog, Ikea has managed to. Make all the jokes you want about a gas station hot dog, this is far worse. The folks working behind the counter were nice enough, and they work hard I'm sure. But what a tough sell this operation is. If Ikea supposed to be a fun place to shop, you're not going to find it at the downstairs "bistro." What could be "cheap and cheerful" is just a heap and cheerless. It's really a zero stars proposition.
