Preguntas frecuentes sobre Ocean Restaurant
Opiniones de Ocean Restaurant San Juan
Easily the best food at Caribe Hilton. We ate here 3 times over 6 days and each meal was beautiful and absolutely delicious. The staff was very friendly and made excellent recommendations . The mofongo was incredible and the huevos rancheros was out of this world.
Not sure why this place has so many negative reiviews. Went for dinner last night and it was really empty, so our service was attentive and friendly. The drinks we had were really good, I especially liked the S7 Sour. I ordered octopus, and it was genuinely incredibly delicious. Octopus is an easy protein to completely mess up, but mine was cooked perfectly (or the way I like it at least) and full of flavor. My girlfriend tried it too and was raving. She ordered the paella and while it wasn’t necessarily authentic Spanish paella, it was still really flavorful and good. Big bonus points to this place for giving me some turkey to feed to the cat outside. I’d reccomend adding a menu online, but other than that my experience was really great.
Our waiter Shawn was an absolute gentleman tonight, He gave us a 20/10 experience. Soft spoken and makes you feel at home. Don’t know what it is about a waiter side leaning into a seat in your table and sparking a lighthearted conversation about your day or where you’re from to show that he’s relaxed and comfortable with your presence, it adds a sense of familiarity that we’ve only seen in very few places. He’s the only male waiter that’s made us feel like we didn’t have to keep a guard up in this island and assured us that the islands bad rumors are just rumors. As for the Food it takes a little while but their amazing quality can’t be rushed. We had the pre fix burrata with a divine paella that was brought out by him accompanied by a handsome grin which gave that warm heart feeling before we indulged in these yummy bites
The atmosphere is absolutely amazing, the server acted as a friend, waitress and bartender. The food was the best on the resort. Highly recommend the wagyu burger and the tropical espresso was to die for!
This place is absolutely amazing! It's a laid back, sophisticated restaurant and bar. The food was incredible and delicious. The fish was crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. I've had it once before in America not the same. The pineapple pina coloda was fresh. It was fantastic! I love this place.
Absolutely loved our experience at this local gem in Puerto Rico! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine island hospitality and a cozy, modern, welcoming vibe. The food was nothing short of amazing — full of fresh, bold flavors that perfectly capture the spirit of Puerto Rican and American cuisine. Every dish tasted homemade, with that perfect balance of tradition and creativity. The service was attentive without ever feeling rushed, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was relaxed yet lively, making it a perfect spot for both locals and visitors who want an authentic taste of the island. Highly recommend this place — a true highlight of Puerto Rico’s dining scene. Can’t wait to go back!
AWESOME!!! My wife and I ate at Ocean Restaurant 5 times in a row, and we were only in San Juan 4 nights…the food and the staff (Argenys, Frienlis) were awesome EACH time. Chef Eric is a man who knows how to make all the food on the menu taste great including the Wagyu Burger, St. Louis Ribs, Hummus w/Cauliflower Crackers, and the Blackened Tuna Salad. Ocean absolutely has the best tasting blackened tuna I’ve ever had. I had it two days in a row!! I’ll always recommend Ocean to anyone I know who’s traveling to San Juan. My wife and I speak and teach on leadership throughout the USA and beyond and have the opportunity to dine in many restaurants. We were speaking at the Hilton Caribe on 1/12/26 and was happy we discovered Ocean for our first meal instead of our last.
Best restaurant at Caribe Hilton. Avoid the long breakfast lines at the Nectar and come here. The food is better and reasonably priced. The service and atmosphere were great. The portions large, even by American standards.
Ocean me brindaron excelente servicio y estamos más que agradecidos con su amabilidad y hospitalidad.
Superrr rica la comida, y la vdd que la atención que recibimos todas las veces que fuimos fue ideal
Awesome! We were walking past and wanted a quick drink. The waitress was so friendly and accommodating. We had some lovely wine and beers. Even got some tasters of local beer. We didn’t have food but the options looked decent. They also had a great wine selection. Staff were amazing and the place is modern, clean with great tunes!
Es un deleite al paladar disfrutar los platos con base de ternera. Y ni se diga de los postres totalmente un viaje al cielo de sabores. Si pueden disfrutarlo no se arrepentirán

Wife and my first time here. The Fish Tacos and Skirt Steak Mofongo were amazing! We also had the best Expresso Martini ever! Frenlis is a talented mixologist with impeccable service!
The best meals we’ve had on our trip by far. The steak and eggs were delicious, the mofongo was DIVINE! Highly recommend the toasted marshmallow coffee 😍
Amazing local food - mofongo and local cheeses Highly recommend - we are staying at the Hilton - which has a $80 breakfast which was bland and basic - Ocean had authentic food and fantastic service definitely the right choice. Halloween celebrated! Marc difazio MD
The owner is an absolute gem. She made us feel right at home with her bright demeanor. The tropical expresso martini is the best, sweet, and creamy. My absolute favorite is the Wagyu burger. We have been here 4 times on our short trip and we will be back for me soon.
My family attended tonight (From NY). The food and service was good. Yes, bit pricey but what isn’t.

Good ambiance with friendly staffs that take the time to explain local dish with you. Food was decent with the paella a bit salty. Service was very slow so make sure you have plenty of time if dining here.
Drinks were great and the bartender was friendly. I enjoy the selection of drinks; but the food menu was a bit too selective and didn’t cater to a wide audience. We ended up not ordering food. The overall vibe was off too. It seemed far too classy and high-end. I wanted a bit more of a relaxed environment
“Extremely overpriced” is an understatement. I assume price gouging is why the place is always empty. The food is average, nothing noteworthy. The drinks are insane. $85 for an ounce shot of Clase Azul Reposada! $29 for a poke bowl that’s the culinary equivalent of a $10 bowl at Publix on the mainland. $18 mixed drinks that are only a couple ounces, $6/bottle, and $12 draft beers. I expected a $25-30 shot but $85? Stay far, far away from this tourist trap!
Sean provided great customer service well dining, all of the food was pretty good. We got shrimp and steak mofongo and French toast and chicken. A pitcher of mimosa and coffee. The manager that is a women however was incredibly rude from the moment we walked into the door and every moment after. She was not welcoming, did no greeting, we felt we were annoying her by being there. For that alone we would not recommend or advise anyone to go. It is slightly overpriced but at least the food was good and well flavored.
Liked the ambience, the food was good, service was terrible and all three tabs were overcharged! Tab 1) Ordered a mocha smoothie, a mocha latte was brought to the table. Shared w/ waitress that a smoothie was ordered - both were on the tab mocha latte was left on bill! We were charged $8.00 for bottled water that was not ordered. Charged a 21% tip was automatically added for a party of two. Ordered a beer that the waitress needed to be reminded to bring and was not brought til the end of meal. Tab 2) charged a 21% tip automatically charged for a party of one (1). An $8.00 bottled charged that was not ordered. Tab 3) charged a 21% tip automatically charged for a party of one (1). He hated the his meal of Mofongo (ms), only picked at. Tab 4) Table of four (4) was not charged an automatic tip of 21% - why? Inconsistency in charges, poor service and overcharged. Menu states parties of six (6) or more will an automatic tip be charged. Very expensive for “ok/good” food NOT great. Should have known better as including us there were a total of eight (8) customers in the restaurant. Waitress never checked to see how our food was. We ate at Ocean Restaurant and Lounge on Feb. 5, 2026 at 2:00PM
I always like to start with something positive but it’s really hard in the case of this restaurant. The staff is friendly, but the restaurant is poorly run. Terrible service with no attention. The food was awful. We ordered Salmon tartar. Small 1 cm cubes swimming in a sea of thick sweet soy sauce terrible presentation hard to ruin good fish but they did it the grilled octopus the same tiny little pieces covered with too much sweet sauce overall I wouldn’t come back.

Don’t come here for breakfast or brunch. The place was less than half empty but we waited almost an hour for our food. I ordered huevos rancheros with sausage. Not complicated. But they brought it with chicken and when I pointed out the mistake they said it would take another 10 minutes to make. We asked them just to bring out sausage and they did. The salsa tasted like it came out of a jar. They kept forgetting what we ordered. The only nice thing I can say is the staff was friendly.
Worst restaurant experience I have had in years. Had a reservation, arrived at our time and were seated buy a very unfriendly woman who we later found out was an owner. A few minutes later the guy running around who we assumed was the manager came over to question if we had a reservation as if we were not supposed to be there. Waitress comes over, says "what do you want?" with her little order machine and attitude. She never said hello. We had looked at the menu for only a few minutes. We asked if there were any specials and she said no with no other discussion. We had decided what we wanted for drinks and told her and asked for water also. She brought out a bottle of water and poured it into two glasses. We told her we did not want to pay for water and asked for tap water. She told us they didn't have any. 30 minutes later we received our drinks. They were the only positive thing about our experience. A half an hour after that we received our food. We had been in the restaurant for an hour already. Our drinks were more than empty and no one offered another one. Good thing we had the water. The restaurant was not filled and we looked around at many other guests staring at the walls because none of the tables seemed to have food on them. They're appeared to be only one waitress and the woman who seated us was bussing tables. I had lobster mofongo that was filled with so many shells and was so salty that it really was not edible. The plantains were okay. My wife's paella had steak that was so tough and overcooked that neither of us could eat it. When the bill came we saw an $8.50 charge for bottled water. I told the waitress I was not going to pay for it and she said the owner was there and would talk to me. I told her we were never informed and we specifically stated we were not going to pay for water when the waitress brought it. She said you were told we don't have tap water and I said we were never told there would be a charge for it. There was nothing on the menu to indicate there would be a charge for water and we have never been in a restaurant that did not offer water with meals. This restaurant is on the property of the Caribe Hilton. When we stopped by in the afternoon to check the menu and make a reservation we confirmed that they were part of the hotel because all of the hotel signage on maps and online had a different name and location for this restaurant. The person told us it was changed in August and still had the same owners. We were told that we would be able to use our room charge. We were a little uncomfortable but said we would give it a try. After the owner adjusted the bill to remove the water she then asked for a credit card which we did not bring because we expected to use our room charge. She gave me a hard time about the room charge and said she would need to call the desk. We told her she would have to work it out and left. We would never go back and you shouldn't either. Had to give it one star in order to post but would have given it zero or negative if possible.
