Opiniones de Toppings Tree Santa Clara
This Filipino restaurant is a hidden gem! The service here is exceptional; the staff genuinely care about your dining experience and go the extra mile to ensure your satisfaction. Now, let's talk about the food - it's a culinary journey through the Philippines. The flavors are authentic and transport you to the streets of Manila. The ambiance is cozy and rustic, with beautiful Filipino decor that adds to the overall charm. A must-visit for anyone looking for an incredible Filipino dining experience!
Absolutely excellent food, everything on the menu is delicious. Authentic Filipino food & great service. Sometimes it's sort of hot inside but the food never disappoints.
Been coming here since 2012 and haven’t stopped! Service is always great!!
Best Filipino food in the south bay. Great selection, good portions, and very reasonable prices. Love this place. Only minor gripe is the resrooms could use a makeover. Several times there were no soap and men's stall was out of service. Of course you don't go there for the restrooms, but for the excellent food!
The best Filipino food around, with reasonable pricing and friendly service. Highly recommend!
We just left this place and I want to thank the gracious owner for l allowing my family to dine in right before closing. I just flew in from Las Vegas and we were with my 94 yr old father and we both craved Filipino food but didn’t realize how late it was. The food was fresh, delicious and portions were very generous. I definitely recommend this place not only for the food but awesome hospitality.
Great superior food. Oh my gosh, I love it! Glad I found this gem near my work. Now, the problem is I couldn't get enough that I would be buying lunch here every day. They give you GOOD amount of food for what you paid for! It's not like the feeling that I have been robbed with small portion of food. Addicted with their food!
It's one of the best tastes of the Philippines in Santa Clara short of being at the islands. I love and get their java rice every time I go. They have turon and halo-halo in case you still have room for more. The prices are normal for the bay. So, you can come here daily without breaking the bank.
Love this place! They give generous portions at reasonable prices! The server was very friendly. The food was delicious and felt like home cooked meals. We ordered beef sinigang, crispy pata, and two vegetable dishes. We even had leftovers after we were done!
Background: Toppings Tree is a hidden gem and a filipino food go-to for those living in the Santa Clara/ San Jose area. Amazing filipino food with large servings will definitely not disappoint. Location: Being near the downtown college area, there is free parking across the street but may be busy depending on the lunch rush. We came here with our church family and the line outside was long around 12pm-1pm so expect to come early. Food: I recommend everything on the menu honestly but if there is one thing to try first it would be their beef Sinigang. The meat-on-bone was huge yet so soft. The Crispy Pata is cut in large cubes that would have you reaching for your cholesterol medicine after enjoying a few. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to Toppings Tree of you want authentic Filipino food. It is perfect for large groups or for a family lunch date.
Great place for Philippino food. menu has lots of choices. it's a simple homestyle place with good service. the portions are HUGE platters to share.
This was the best Filipino food I’ve ever had in my life. The milkfish sisig nearly made my Filipino boyfriend cry because it was so good (he says he’s “OA”). Huge portions, good portions, and friendly staff. The restaurant interior is not the newest or trendiest but I’m telling you the food. Is. Worth. It!!!!!
Our go-to neighborhood Filipino spot! Our must haves are the grilled tocino, lechon, chicken sinangag, pancit bihon and lumpiang. This order lasts us 2 meals. We often order to go and pickup is always timely and staff is welcoming.
Belly bangus = best piece of fish I've eaten in my life. Love this place. Food is served on iron hotplates so it stays warm. I don’t know why every restaurant doesn’t do this.
Food comes out fast piping hot. Large servings. For $14.95. You get an entire large plate of pancit Miki bihon With chicken, shrimp and vegetables. Place is in a nice area near the Postal Service and Santa Clara.
SO happy to have found this place! It's been years since I last had a Filipino meal, and the chicken adobo really hit the spot! I was quite impressed by the portion size and the quality (and for a very reasonable price)! Staff was also very friendly. I can't wait to come back and sample more of the menu! Be aware, the door sticks. At first, I thought they'd closed early, but as it turns out, I just didn't yank the door hard enough! :P
Even though the place is understaffed, the lady at the front gave us our menu, took our order, and bussed tables at the same time which was pretty impressive! Food was great. We had grilled longanisa with java rice plate and pork sinigang. Will be back!
If you are looking for a Filipino restaurant based on the "home-cooked taste" criteria, you're looking for more than just a menu—you're looking for a specific feeling. It's about flavors that remind you of family gatherings, generous portions, and a sense of warmth and comfort. It's here at Toppings Tree. I craved for tortang talong, which isn't in their menu, I asked for it and tadahhhh...craving satisfied.

Cute little mom n pop eatery with filling and healthy meals right next to a university, this place should be thriving! It was pretty open when I visited at lunch time. My table ordered a variety of food and it came out quickly and hot! The food was very flavorful and so tasty but I will say that my chicken adobo was on the salty side. I would for sure go back for another meal! :)
Not to be biased because I'm Filipino but this restaurant serves good Filipino food compared to another food place from the Philippines. They have a courteous staff and I've been to this restaurant four times and I have no bad experience. Giving Four stars because of the parking area and the restaurant takes a while to prepare the food. Maybe I'm just used to fast foods while here they will make your food not before you order it.
Came here for lunch and got sat right away. Several other groups in the restaurant, but still decent service with 2 waitresses. Food was out quick enough and tasted good. While the experience wasn't fantastic, it was still great place for some food Filipino food. I would come back again if I was in the area.
Ordered take out. Food was good especially the adobo. I've had better Filipino BBQ pork though. Main problem was they told us food would be ready in 30 minutes and we ended up waiting closer to 50 minutes.
Spacious and clean dining area. We ordered Beef Sinigang (served hot and maasim!) and tapsilog with Java rice. Delicious! Dishes are well plated. The only set back was we had to wait longer than usual for our payment to go through cause the "register" was slow(?)
There are classic Filipino dishes that are a hit (Miki bihon, sinigang, grilled pork and chicken, pinakbet) and there are misses (kare kare, pansit canton, sisig is frustratingly inconsistent, some days are good, most days so so). However would I recommend? Yes. I hit this place up once a week for a that Filipino taste I crave. Just order what I mentioned and you'll be fine..
Ordered calamari, garlic fried rice, crispy pata (fried pork leg) and laing (taro leaves). All tasted really good. No wait and food came within 15 minutes.
Delicious and plentiful, everything was well prepared and food arrived quickly. Ladies are very polite and attentive.
Dad was craving Filipino, we liked the sister restaurant in Union City. They have a generous serving size. We ordered lechon kawali, a little dry and overcooked. Pancit palabok was bihon noodle, tasty. Dinuguan was a little watery, needed a bit more vinegar. I expected a little more variety in an acharra other than just carrots. Shanghai lumpia was ok. Service was nice. PS the dinuguan was tastier the next day as leftover, the flavors come out.
Go here for Crispy Pata A la Carte, very delicious crispy exterior, juicy meat inside, just delicious, fresh, hot and huge! Garlic Bok Choy was also delicious, crunchy bok choy in garlicky, soy sauce dressing, so so good! The Daing na Bangus (grilled milkfish) A la Carte was tasty (and huge) but was quite fishy, it came with 2 small containers of distilled white vinegar to dip the fish in to help with the fishiness which it did but we wouldn't order this dish again. We're more used to grilled sole or flounder. 2 side orders of White Rice was also a lot of rice! People who work here are so wonderful, very happy to have discovered this restaurant on recommendation from a trio of Filipino ladies we ran into the other day, thank you to them also for the recommendation of the Crispy Pata at this restaurant! Note; Their sign says Mon - Wed is to-go orders only.
Was craving some home cooking after a soccer game and found Toppings Tree. The miki bihon pancit and the sinigang with fish was on point. However, the bbq chicken lacked flavor but the side of archara was delicious. Dining in is available and they have all the covid precaution signs posted but it's not being enforced. A older gentleman was in line waiting for his order without a mask and another customer entered with her mask on her chin. Anyway, we just waited patiently for our order outside. There's plenty of parking on the st and there's a small lot across the street too. Also, Take out only M-W, Dine in- Thursday -Sun
2 days ago, I had a major craving for Filipino food. I was heading out to Sunnyvale and wanted to find a restaurant nearby. Toppings Tree was only 18 minutes away. I had to call, to find out which suite # they were in, but the lady who answered the phone didn't speak much English. But I found #150 after another minute. The young girl working there was unenthusiastic and blank. I asked for a menu and was happy to see it in Filipino & English. I saw the Pancit Bebon and knew that needed to be in my tummy, (noodles, cabbage, carrots, chicken and Chinese sausage). Then I saw Lechon Kwali, (cubed Pork Belly), which I was about to order, until I saw the Crispy Pata. I asked the girl, of the 2, which she would have; so I ended up ordering the Pata/Pork Knuckle. I sat down and waited in the little seating area up front. The food was slow coming out, considering there weren't many people there and most had their food. When my name was called, I was handed two containers, weighing roughly 3 lbs! I couldn't wait to get home and dive in.The first container was filled to the brim with yummy, steaming hot Pancit. Tons of noodles, veggies and chicken. It could have had more sausage, but it was seriously answering my craving. The Crispy Pata was huge, the skin was super crunchy and flavorful. There wasn't much meat, but it was tender and tasted great. Next time, I am ordering the Lechon Kwali. The Pata was mostly skin and bones. There were quite a few items on the menu, a small refrigerator upfront with a small selection of drinks, and a large dining area. I will definitely go back and try other things. So, stop reading and GO THERE! LOL 😂
Love their food. We ordered NY steak and Tocino. One of our order was accidentally given to another table and took 2 followups before we got our order.
Place is very good, only issue was they messed up my order but the food was so good I didn’t care

I visited this restaurant over the weekend. The food was really good and they had a lot of options! The serving sizes were very generous and I ended up taking home a lot of leftovers. The service was good and the food came out pretty quickly!! The cleanliness could be a bit better though, the tables felt a little sticky and it was pretty warm inside since there’s no AC, only fans. Luckily, it wasn’t too crowded when I went, so it wasn’t totally unbearable. I’ll be back!
Pata! Crispy, juicy ham hock. 1 mile from private Santa Clara University. People serving are very sweet. Avoid the Milkfish = super fishy smell (it's naturally a super fishy smelling fish).

Not surprised the cook wasn't there at the time of opening. The host and waiter was apologetic and attentive so we're not mad. We needed time to look thru the expansive menu. Food came out in proper time once ordered. Some of the food was good. The laing needed a lil more kick and flavor. The pancit was particularly greasy. The Java rice and sisig were masarap!
The food was okay here. I ordered a noodle dish with shrimp, chicken, and vegetables. It was about 90% noodles and not much of the other items. Disappointing for $15. It did taste good enough though. The Lumpia was really over cooked. The ends were black, but again after that issue they tasted fine. Probably won't go back...was there because of work lunch so...not much choice.
For those unfamiliar with Filipino food, you can't go wrong with whatever you order. The food presentation was better than most, actually appetizing. The service is prompt and friendly. For those discriminating Filipino food taste buds, better eat somewhere else. Meaning the flavors and distinctive taste are not there.

Service is not of Filipino standards (fast and friendly) and the food seemed like it was just microwaved. Our siomI was tough to eat, chicken BBQ barely had no flavor, let alone any sauce for it, and the lechon kawali was not crunchy at all.
I ordered a la carte of tocino, langonisa, inihaw pork belly and 4 orders of Java rice today through Doordash. I have eaten at this place before a few years back and had ordered the same food as i did today - loved their tocino, langonisa and the garlic rice back then. Sadly, all the food I ordered today did not taste good. The java rice had uncooked rice grains, the longanisa taste bland, the tocino is so-so, and the inihaw pork belly had no flavor and did not look appetizing at all. It's a total disappointment.
Food was good but it took 50 minutes to get my food when there was like 15 people in the restaurant. Got bbq pork chops. The gravy was quite good. I was told it'd be at least 30 minutes (insane given that when I got there, there was 5 people in the restaurant), but it took way longer than they estimated. If service was faster I'd rate higher - the food was good.

Pakbet was a smashed veggies, bistek floating with oil can't taste the lemon but onions taste good, fried chicken no flavor at all, delivered to our hotel thru door dash. First disappointment eating a Filipino food here in California which we always travel to and eat filipino meal any chance I get. Can't comment on service and place except for the meal we ordered.
The food is not delicious. The beef tapa is definitely did not cook well and it seems like you are eating a rubber. Their egg with shrimp is so salty. The bilo-bilo tastes bad, they just put a lot of sugar and lack of coconut milk... and the ingredients are over cooked! So mushy. I know the real taste of those food that we ordered that’s why I cannot give them 5. Lady who serve our food did not even wearing gloves when she serve our fork and spoon. She can’t even smile specially when we complaint about the taste of the egg with shrimp. I forgot how they called it. Won’t go back there anymore.
Although overall the reviews on here are generally good and the food was good, our pancit had wayyyyyy too much salt and felt very sick after eating. Also the menus were very dirty. If you go to a restaurant and they can't even be bothered to clean the menus, just imagine what the kitchen is like.
Had an in person Togo order. I asked for no shrimp in the pancit and they still made it with shrimp! When I ordered “no shrimp” they did not indicate that it could not be made without shrimp. I am allergic to shrimp and I ate it expecting it to not have shrimp since that is what I ordered. Had a reaction! If you cannot provide dishes without these allergens, it is your responsibility to notify the customer when they order. Do better. We will not return due to your neglect and disregard for food safety.
