Delicious food, relaxing atmosphere where the wait staff didn't rush me.
I ordered carry out from here. Food was phenomenal. Good portion sizes. We ordered four dishes for 3 people and had a bunch left over even after helping ourselves to seconds. I'm not sure if they have parking in the back, but meter parking out front during dinner time is a pain even when all I was trying to do was put my hazards on for a quick minute. Can't comment on the in-restaurant experience, but take-out experience was great!
The atmosphere was calm, clean. The music was somber and in great taste. As I waited for my take order I was offered water by two staff members. I ordered the chow mein with shrimp and an order of steamed dumplings. The food was hot and delicious at first bite. You can smell the freshness through the bag.
Excellent restaurant, great service decent prices and very tasty dishes
Wow, big portions, everything tastes awesome. The Wonton soup is perfect!
Got some of the fresh rolls for dinner and my god, these are wonderful. They are tightly and neatly rolled, packed with veggies; and the peanut sauce is truly excellent. I’ve had fresh rolls at 3 other Vietnamese/thai places in Santa Monica and these are my favorite by far. Happy to have discovered them!
We go to Thai Dishes (2628 Wilshire, Santa Monica) regularly, and it’s always a great time, but I would like to acknowledge our recent visit which stands out in my mind as one of my most striking restaurant experiences. My friend had previously had a dish and was looking forward to having it again. She ordered it but it didn’t taste the same. We asked the kitchen to try again but once again it wasn't right. The kitchen tried a third time, but no luck. My friend wanted to give up but the manager came over and pleaded with us to try one more time. She went back to the kitchen and it was determined that the dish my friend had previously was a special recipe. They found that recipe and used it, and my friend was very happy. The manager was exceptionally solicitous and tried as hard as she could without being overbearing to get my friend what she wanted. Her effort to make my friend happy (not necessarily an easy task) was so striking that I felt compelled to write this review. In a way this might not sound like a big deal but it was the strength of the sincerity that was so impressive. Thank you Thai Dishes. We look forward to many future great experiences at your restaurant.
There was a group of 8 of us. They easily managed our table and all our requests. We sampled SEVERAL appetizers and entrees and every single one of them was delicious! I will go back again and again!
Beef larb was great. A companion had eggplant with tofu and the eggplant was silken, the tofu perfect. Almost wish I had ordered that. Service was outstanding.
Fantastic wonderful service, food and atmosphere. Kind and courteous. We had an event with 35 people and they took great care of us all in their private room. Surprisingly great place for a private event..
Good food, friendly staff, I will be back
Fantastic Thai food at this spot! I loved that everything was tasty and huge portions! The service was incredible and everyone was so nice and accommodating. The inside is clean and spacious and over a fantastic place to eat in Santa Monica!
This is a fabulous restaurant. The meals are amazing and huge. Be careful not to order too much food. The staff are also super helpful and very sweet.
Always a favorite!!! Been going here for 20 years. The menu has changed from time to time, but I can always order what I like. If the food is not hot enough, ask for Thai Hot. The facility has had some nice updates. I tend to compare most Thai food with what I have ordered here. Now it's a must anytime I am back in town.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 – Amazing Food & Even Better Service! I had an excellent experience at Thai Dishes Restaurant! Not only was the service warm, friendly, and attentive, but the food was absolutely perfect — especially the Tom Yum Thai spicy & sour soup. I ordered it because I had a sore throat, and wow… it was exactly what I needed. The soup was flavorful, comforting, and had that perfect balance of spice and tang. It opened me right up and made me feel so much better. You can tell they use fresh ingredients and put a lot of care into every dish. The staff checked on me multiple times, made sure everything was just right, and created such a welcoming atmosphere. It’s rare to find a place that nails both customer service and food this well. I’ll definitely be coming back — highly recommended! 🙌🔥🍜
The BEST Thai Food in Santa Monica!! Serving Authentic Thai Dishes for over 35 years! It’s the perfect spot for lunch or dinner!! Check out their lunch specials Monday - Friday 11 - 3pm. Bold, vibrant and balanced flavors—a harmonious mix of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy, with a hint of bitterness and creamy notes. Intensely aromatic with a spicy kick. They all work together to make each dish come alive. Some of our favorite dishes of the night were the TOM KHA THAI SPICY COCONUT SOUP, SQUID SALAD, PANANG ROASTED CURRY, PAD SEE EW and CHOCOLATE TEMPTATION CAKE!! Thai Dishes Wilshire is at their new location in Santa Monica, with private rooms perfect for any celebration, work lunch or dinner! They also have a full bar with beer and wine. Great customer service from Rodrigo, Mayt and Aaor.
The best Pad Thai I’ve had in the States. The price and portion are generous. It tastes really good. I also ordered the Pork massaman Curry — it was delicious and the portions here are all big. Everything was great, friendly service, and most importantly, the prices aren’t overpriced and the portions are large. I’ll definitely come back if I pass through this area again.
Thai Dishes Wilshire – Santa Monica 🌟 Serving Santa Monica since 1981 This local gem has been dishing out Thai comfort classics for over four decades and it shows. The Chicken Satay is smoky and tender, with a peanut sauce that deserves its own spotlight. Chicken Kapow packs a fiery punch with basil and chili, while the Chicken Curry is rich, aromatic, and soul-warming. Don’t skip dessert: the lemon tart is zesty and refreshing, and the chocolate cake adds a decadent finish. 🍽️ Vibe: No-frills, fast service, and flavors that speak louder than decor. 🐾 Felix the Cat’s Pick: Chicken Kapow—bold, spicy, and totally addictive.
If you are a thai food lover you MUST try this place! Went today for the first time. The service was excellent! Everyhting arrived so fast. Prices were great, quality was amazing and the quantities were big! Felt like I took a trip to Bangkok! Best curries and soups I've ever tried and the Mango sticky rice at the end was better than the ones in Phuket! Can't wait to go back!
This is an authentic Thai restaurant with actual Thai cooks and staff. The menu has food that I can only find in Thailand. The prices are reasonable, and the food tastes great. The staff is pretty friendly. I ate here on a Saturday night, and it wasn't busy. They offer takeaway.
Tasty Thai food, I had the microb, it's deep fried rice noodles, and is candied, means it's really sweet, it is an acquired taste, not everyone likes very sweet dishes. And it's not served hot, rather in room temperature. I loved it. Also ordered the vegetable fried rice, it has kind of a smokey barbecue flavor, wow it was so yummy good. Highly recommend.
Good food and menu full of Thai staples. Had all the classics: pad see ew, pad Thai, crying tiger, papaya salads tom kha. Very big shareable portions. So delicious. You can use the in store discount code “VIP” to get a Thai tea for free while dining in.
This is it! My thai restaurant in Santa Monica. Thai Dishes Wilshire, nice atmosphere, big portion and variety of testy thai food. Very good service. Pricing very reasonable. Difhernetly, I will bring my family and friend. Thank you
So flavorful! Everything looked so great in the menu, but it's even better in when it comes to your table! A short walk from the Ambrose. We arrived after 7pm on a weeknight. No problem with seating and the food comes out quickly. Go and enjoy!
Excellent choice for Thai cuisine in Santa Monica. This is a beautifully decorated restaurant with strong customer service, so I highly recommend coming in for dinner. A cool perk? If you check-in via Yelp, you'll receive a free Thai Iced Tea. My friend was running an hour late for dinner, but the staff was extremely considerate letting me wait so long at the booth. They must have refilled my water 7+ times, but always with a warm smile. My favorite dishes are the Eggplant with Basil and brown rice, Pad See Ew and Pad Thai with chicken. You can't go wrong here!
Thai restaurant on Wilshire with generous portions for reasonable prices. There’s also happy hour from 3-6 with cheap beers and select apps. Came here on a Sunday at 6pm for dinner with a group of four and was seated immediately. There were a couple other tables and it’s indoor seating. The waiter was prompt in getting our drink orders and there’s also a free Thai iced tea if you check in on yelp. We got the sampler for the appetizer which came with veggie spring rolls, shrimp wrapped in fried noodles, and this fried curry thing that I liked the best. The sweet chili sauce that came on the side was good as well - sweet, not spicy at all, with an almost syrupy texture. The dishes we ordered were all sub-$20 but were very large. The pad Thai was yummy as was the pad see ew. You have the option of meat so this can certainly be made vegetarian. The fried rice has different levels of slickness that you can customize and was also plentiful. The honey ribs came in three and were large. Those were alright, but I’d get the pad thai and pad see ew again. The Thai tea was also deliciously creamy and sweet, and you could share it between two people. We left with doggie bags for all our food so I feel like we got a really good deal for the portion sizes. They do take card and bathrooms are available in the back. Overall a good spot for some Thai food in Santa Monica where you can get your money’s worth.

We have been going here for many years and always enjoy the excellent food, service, and atmosphere. One of my favorites is the chicken satay. Large skewers of chicken grilled to perfection and served with peanut sauce or spicy cucumbers.
The food was excellent. I’ve been eating Thai food for years, but never had Pad Thai. It was very good. The service was also very friendly. We will definitely be back.
Ooo myyy goooood. The quality of this food is craazy! Top notch, best of the best. Thai basil + Massaman is just amazing! Very well done! Beautiful restaurant too!

Food is very good. Portions shrunk when they moved to this new location. Everything used to be huge portions. Plenty to take home. Now not so much. Prices stayed the same I think tho. Service hit or miss.
A cozy Thai place in Santa Monica with good lunch deal. For the same price from the menu, if you order the lunch items in their lunch hours, they give you extra rice and a snack for free. As a Thai person, I think the dishes were delicious, but way too sweet. If the sweetness can be reduced 50-70%, it would be perfect for me. We tried a lot of dishes and had a Thai food feast here. What I think was good: crying tiger, fried rice, cashew. Somtum and curry were too sweet for me. They also have Thai beers: Singha and Chang, which you probably want to order to pair with the dishes. There was a small free parking lot at the back, which was very needed for the area. Service was very nice. Servers were happy to help.
Discovered a Thai food spot in Santa Monica with cocktail bar. I had: 1. Papaya salad 2. Tom yum soup with fish 3. Fried tofu 4. Mee krob 5. Pad see ew 6. Honey ribs 7. Seafood fried rice 8. Bangkok boat noodles dry 9. Combination seafood 10. Thai milk tea
Very fresh and tasty Thai food. Spring rolls were loaded with fresh basil which we enjoyed. The Pad Thai was very nicely done and an abundant portion. They didn't scimp on the proteins here. Nice place!
This is your run-of-the-mill Thai restaurant. It offers portions that are just enough to keep you sated. The pricing is very reasonable, especially compared to other Santa Monica and Wilshire spots. Now on to the food: I ordered the Pad See Ew, one of my (and many others) favorite Thai dish. The noodles had great consistency and soaked up the sweet and salty sauce. I do usually prefer when they use Chinese broccoli (Gai Lan), but the regular broccoli was still well cooked. I also ordered the Pad Thai. It was pretty good. My only complaint is that they used a very thin noodle instead of a more broad noodle, but this is more of a personal preference. Everything else was well executed. The fried rice was a bit disappointing. It would be decent as a small side but I wouldn’t recommend it as a main course. The rice was a bit mushy and the veggies didn’t combine that well. Overall it had good flavor, but just lacked balance. Due to how close and convenient this place is to me, I’ll likely come back here. Give this place a try if you want some solid Thai takeaway!

Amazing food but they do demand for tips. Haven’t been there since. Just a heads up you’re expected to tip if not they ask if there was a problem because there was no big tip.
I used to like eating at Thai Dishes, but my recent visit left much to be desired. I ordered the Chicken Panang Curry lunch special, and while the soup was alright, the rest of the meal was really disappointing. The fried wonton lacked crispiness and was soggy, and the curry was overly thick, making it feel too heavy. The chicken had a rubbery texture, and the flavors didn’t seem as authentic as I remember. The brown rice was hard and grainy, which made it difficult to enjoy. To top it off, I felt uneasy for the rest of the day after eating, which is never a good sign. Unfortunately, this will probably be my last visit to this restaurant.
Prices are about 50% higher than what you'd pay in Thai Town, and the flavors aren't nearly as good. Noodle dishes start at $16, and if you add meat or veggies, they go up from there. The ChowNow link wasn't functional (wouldn't allow orders until tomorrow), and the prices listed on the restaurant's own webpage are incorrect (the real prices are higher). Food-wise, the noodles were lightly spiced and oily. Curry was starchy (like a thickener was added), which was quite odd. Neither dish would cut it in Thai Town. There may not be better options in Santa Monica north of Pico—I don't know. All I know is we have many great Thai restaurants in greater Los Angeles, and sadly this is not one of them.
Thai Dishes used to be great. Ordered Pad Thai, Tom Yum, Green Curry and Pork Ribs. We ate enough not to be hungry and threw the rest away. Terrible. Go to another Thai place the food was not good.
Came from the vet across thr street and got some takeout. It was around 6 pm, and they weren't busy yet. The food was awful. Had no flavor, the rice was so bland. The Pad Tai. Usually a Thai staple didn't have that peanut flavor and very dull color. Worst yet, The ribs were dry and stuck to the bone. Almost burnt!! The egg roll looked and tasted like an off the shelf store item. Too bad, the receptionist was nice and the place decent.
I have never written a review or felt compelled to write a review before but I am beyond infuriated. The amount of sugar they used in my order is dangerous. I am insulin resistant. I ordered the green papaya salad, the chicken Panang and streamed broccoli. I did not order or eat any rice or carbs. Within minutes of eating the grew papaya salad my blood sugars spiked to over 200. This has never happened with any other Thai food restaurant I have eaten at, EVER!!! I will never order from them again and I urge them to use healthier ingredients to prevent more harm!
Terrible service. I ordered a to-go and left. When I went back in to pick up the waiter believed to be Golf didn’t even bring the food to me. The food was left on the table somewhere toward the shop front. I had to read the receipt and found it was mine. Given that the they got a bell hanging at the door handle and there was no customer as it was a quiet lunch time this was intentional that they didn’t care about the service anymore. Ps. Red curry was inedible chicken was old I didn’t even finish it.
We've been regular take-out customers from Thai Dishes for easily over 20 years beginning long before they moved from their 19th and Wilshire location to 26th and Wilshire. The food has never been the same since the move, but tonight was the worst ever! Not a single dish was made fresh. No fresh vegetables, no recently cooked meat and even the Pad Thai noodles were days old. And instead of the Pumpkin Curry with chicken that we ordered, it arrived with soggy, over-cooked and unappetizing shrimp instead. Terrible! I'm not sure we'll give them one more chance after tonight, but if there's ever again a repeat of tonight, it will certainly be our last with another scathing revue to follow!!! Update March 2025: We gave TD's another chance tonight and the food was day-and-night different from our last experience. The egg rolls were perfectly browned, not almost blackened like the last time; the Larb chicken salad was fresh with plenty of cilantro; and the other three entrees were freshly made and came as ordered. I'm not giving them the benefit of the doubt to increase rating yet, but another well prepared culinary experience from them the next time we order will be enough to do so.
It’s such a bad decision to dine here. Prices are okay BUT Food is not great. Service sucks, the waitress was rude, pushy and not patient. I like to order my soup eat it and then order food. She had such a bad bad bad attitude. The skinnier lady was extremely friendly and service oriented but she was not our waitress, she realized our group are uncomfortable with the attitude of the chubby waitress so she was trying to accommodate us! Do not wait your money there are plenty other Thai food restaurant with a great food and service. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL!!! The one star is for the skinny lady who helped us. Watch your bill, they add the tip even if you are 4 people! I am sure she was afraid we won’t tip her! Another minus. Overall BAD WORSE AND WORST!!!
I used to love eating from this restaurant but last night we ordered our food from them via GrubHub and we got beef with brocoli, egg rolls, green curry, and white rice. Those who ate the beef with brocoli and egg roles, myself included, had food poisining all night long. So i am afraid i am no longer eating here
