Opiniones de El Choco Santo Domingo
Visit is worth ✨️ going. We wanted our kids having an experience showing them full.process from bean to bar! We were picking, roasting, grinding and making cocoa block. Tasted choco tea, cocoa with traditional method, tempered chcoclote and maing our own bar. At the end your racing also chocolate shake! Big kudos to Carlos who was really fantastic, very positive and so kind, he is well deserving pay rise! Owner should inwestujemy in some mosquito repellent outside as if we wouldnt used our own We would be essential alive.
We experienced the most interesting, genuine, cultural experience in La Casa del Chocolate in Santo Domingo. We had the pleasure to make chocolate from scratch with Marshall, the owner of the shop. He was very professional, kind, patient, made us feel comfortable and knew exactly what he was doing. We did not see the time flying because his love and passion of making chocolate took over and was definitely infused in us. His employees are very knowledgeable and well trained. You want to try something out of the ordinary, please visit La Casa del chocolate. Did you know cocoa tea existed? It was delicious. I will definitely take my son to this shop to make his own chocolate as well.
Our instructor Carlos was awesome. The experience was informative and fun. Well worth the cost. Highly recommend
Me and my mother had the best time doing the bean to bar 2 hour experience! Our workshop leader Carlos was amazing, so helpful, friendly and knowledgeable! We got to try so many different chocolate based items along the way as well as making our own hot chocolate powder and chocolate bar to take away. I couldn't recommend this place more highly when coming to Santo Domingo.
Our group did the 20 minute chocolate making workshop. I'd say we spent an hour all together at the business. Our guide was great and spoke English. One of our Dominican friends was with us so another guide explained everything in Spanish too. This was the highlight for our kids on this trip to Santo Domingo. I highly recommend this for families. Also I see a 1 star review about things bought in the store that don't taste good. Everything we purchased was fantastic the tea and chocolate. The free samples are delicious as well. I recommend the tea!
Visited last month and took the 2 hour chocolate making course "from bean to bar" with Carlos, and it was great. He was caring, knowledgeable, and really made the experience special for us. All of the staff was friendly and offered samples of many different kinds of chocolate as soon as we walked in. If you love chocolate, or you're just looking for something to do in Colonial Santo Domingo, I recommend this place!
Went to their website and registered for their Chocolate workshop. The employee was great and walked us through every step. The workshop is so worth it! We got to taste Chocolate tea, hot chocolate, chocolate milkshake, and make/take home our own chocolate bar. This store also sells chocolate drinks, but does not advertise it. Highly recommend this chocolate workshop over KahKow. It was more personable and worth the time
Esp Experiencia inolvidable. --- Eng Unforgettable experience. A ~2-hour tour where you learn the full cacao process—from roasting to making your own hot chocolate ball and a chocolate bar with toppings. Includes multiple tastings (cacao tea, chocolate, etc.), and you take home what you make, plus a delicious milkshake at the end. Totally worth the price (~$20 USD), especially compared to other chocolate experiences in the Colonial Zone. The service was excellent—everyone was very kind. Highly recommend.
Buen ambiente
I had an amazing experience at Choco Pick’s bean-to-bar class. The 1.5-hour session (starting at 10:30am) was hands-on and very fun — we roasted and ground cacao beans, tempered chocolate, and made our own custom bars with toppings like almonds, peanuts, and marshmallows. The instructor was great and spoke excellent English, making the process easy to follow and engaging. We also got to taste chocolate tea, hot chocolate, and a chocolate smoothie, which made the whole experience feel like a full sensory journey. Overall, a 10/10 experience. Only tip: wear bug repellent if you’re sensitive to mosquitos, since the outdoor area can have a few — it’s the only small thing that might distract from an otherwise perfect visit.
My wife and I loved our time here! We signed up for the 2-hour chocolate workshop and loved it. Our workshop leader Carlos was very helpful and knowledgeable about the history of chocolate and how it is made. We got to start with cacao beans, roasting and shelling and grinding them to a paste that we could then mold into balls to take home with us for making hot chocolate at home later. We also got to go into their regular workshop to try tempering chocolate and making our own chocolate bars to take home as well, along with getting chocolate milkshakes the end to help us beat the heat! We would absolutely recommend this for anyone that is in the area and likes chocolate and wants to learn more about it and get hands-on with the experience! (And thank you again Carlos for such a wonderful session!)

We got to visit this place by a tour guide that took us from our resort. The place is a bit tiny but very welcoming. The girl gave us a tour and samples of pretty much everything we asked for. I immediately loved the hot chocolate and chocolate tea so we bought that as well as their coconut chocolate liqueur. I bought the cocoa beans caramelized but they were stalled so that was disappointing and the hot chocolate well… I’m confused as to what all that powder is… I got added water as instructed but the hot chocolate I sampled did not look like this . It’s not dissolving. I had to use more than half the pack (i bought the small pack but it comes full) to try to get it to even taste like regular hot chocolate . I couldn’t drink it, there was too much of the powder graining on my teeth. But cool place to visit. Try some samples and I definitely recommend that liquor.
