Opiniones de Copita Sausalito
Was looking for a nice restaurant after my tour through Muir Woods. Ended up going here on a recommendation from my tour guide. Amazing food and the service was excellent. Didi, my server, did an great job keeping it fun and made sure I had everything I needed, even as a solo guest. He kept my tequila (water) topped off whenever he came by! I highly recommend the Copita Margarita. Everything was fresh and the Mango Habenero Wings was cooked to perfection. Quick service with the food as well, perfect if you only have a hour before you have to get back to your tour!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I’ve been coming to Copita for years—probably a dozen times by now—and it never disappoints. The tequila selection is outstanding, and the service is always friendly and on point. The food is consistently very good: the watermelon salad is refreshing and delicious, the habanero salsa is fire (you definitely have to ask for it if you like heat—it’ll blow your mind!), and the enchiladas are rich and flavorful. I personally prefer white meat chicken over dark, but that’s just a small preference in an otherwise great dish. Overall, this place is one of my go-to spots in Sausalito for a fun, vibrant meal. Great drinks, great staff, great atmosphere—highly recommend!
Super cute place! Had a great dinner and drinks last night before the Sausalito festival of lights, boat parade. Got a table right away outside on a super busy night. Excellent guacamole! My carne asada tacos were full of flavor & succulent. Skinny Maragarita did the trick. Definitely going back. Great service and food. Festive atmosphere!
Excellent food. The first time I actually enjoyed mole. It was really delicious.
The cauliflower tacos were dynamite! First time having such memorable tacos. The guac and corn on the cob were good. But cauliflower tacos were the highlight of the meal!
We stopped by for an hour after the Muir Woods tour and before the Alcatraz. It was a limited time lunch for us but we wanted to try this place. We got 2 tacos veggie and 2 tacos fish. Both were delicious and fresh. The location is not by the sea but walkable distance.
I had a delightful dining experience at Copita Tequileria y Comida. The food was absolutely fantastic – from the rich flavors to the beautiful presentation, every dish was a treat to the senses. The freshness of the ingredients truly shone through, and the chef’s attention to detail was evident in every bite. The service was equally impressive. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall experience by providing excellent recommendations and ensuring that our needs were met promptly. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, though it could have been a bit more lively. However, the cozy, laid-back vibe made it a perfect place for a relaxed meal. I especially appreciated the ambiance of the space, which made the evening feel special. Overall, Copita offers a wonderful blend of great food, top-notch service, and a pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable dining experience!
My dinner companion and I were so happy. It was a meal that felt both nourishing and delicious. You can taste the freshness. And a guarantee of gluten-free helped her section process. I had a cup of tortilla soup, cod tacos, and pinto beans. Absolutely delicious and full without being stuffed (okay, maybe I am a big eater). She had bowl of tortilla soup, chicken tacos, and pinto beans which she had to take home because she isn't as big an eater as I am. We were too famished, so only one Pic of food. The view was delightful and our server was kind, attentive, and speedy.
Damn this brunch is good. Rich mole, delicious plantains, creative cocktails. And the open rotisserie chicken in the fireplace is nice. • Also whoever is complaining about service, that is untrue when I go here. They are attentive, quick, but not overbearing (like you feel like you can stay a bit longer if you want to, vs being rushed to leave). Amazing place.
I once had tacos here, maybe 4-5 years ago. Till date I haven’t had better, more delicious, tacos ever! Cooked with the perfect balance of flavours and tenderness of meat. No wonder this place has received michelin star.
Wonderful experience, excellent food, great service, friendly staff. Had chips and queso loaded with authentic Mexican ingredients. As for the drinks…my Oaxacan Old Fashioned was possibly the best drink I’ve had in a long time.
Absolutely loved this spot! The pork belly tacos were out of this world, perfectly crispy and flavorful, and the tortillas were amazing. We also had the octopus and shrimp ceviche tostada, which was so fresh and well-balanced, and the habanero wings, not overly spicy, just packed with delicious flavor. The Purple Haze cocktail was fantastic 👍🏽 The atmosphere here is great, laid-back, welcoming, and perfect for a casual yet high-quality meal. We sat outside with our dogs, and the heaters kept us warm and comfortable. Highly recommend this place for great food, drinks, and a good vibe. Can’t wait to come back!
Regional Mexican cuisine and fantastic margaritas. The people that work there are what makes Copita what it is. Many are family, and it shows. If you have the right attitude and are friendly you'll feel like family too!
After the 4th of July parade, my family and I stopped by this wonderful authentic Mexican restaurant for lunch and we’re so glad we did! From start to finish, the experience was outstanding. The carnitas were some of the best we’ve ever had—tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The queso birria was rich and satisfying, and the ceviche was fresh and bursting with flavor. The drinks were also top-notch and paired perfectly with the meal. The service was warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. It’s not easy to find places that deliver both authentic flavor and a great atmosphere, but this spot absolutely nails it. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a true taste of Mexico!
Creative cocktails and exquisite flavors. Absolutely delicious!! Patio open air seating.
Gorgeous, beautifuly situated restaurant, delicious food. We had the Copita Margaritas, slow cooked pork and lamb dishes, best mexican food I've had anywhere, and loved the jovial and efficient service in a relaxing atmosphere
Amazing spot for authentic Mexican cuisine in the heart of Sausalito! Recommend the quesaburria, 24hr carnitas and a must get appetizer, the lobster and scallop ceviches. Service was great. The staff was friendly and food came quickly. Would 100% come back and recommend this place!
Sat at the bar and Paul took great care of me! Enjoyed sipping on a handmade Paloma and snacking on the cucumber jicama plate that comes with each order. I got the 24-hour carnitas in tacos and they were incredible. They just absolutely melt in your mouth and are very tasty. They refill the water with recycled Heradura bottles which is amusing - and eco-friendly. The staff are kind and friendly. There's rotisserie chickens over an open flame in the corner and it is a delightful ambience. Had a really good time. You got to check it out!
Stopped here after touring Muir Woods. Sat outside with a lovely view. The staff was very friendly and accomadating to our request of having a quick meal before our tour takes off again. The food was incredibly good. The enchilada with chicken is a must try. The 24 hour carnitas was pretty good too. Drinks are visually appealing and taste good, but i recommend asking for no ice - as they use a big block of ice that occupies half the glass.
this place was the absolute BEST. we came in just before close and they still served us with the kindest welcoming service anyone could ask for. extremely nice staff, beautiful food and fantastic service. the vibes were just great all around!! the chips and salsa were freaking AMAZING and so were the tacos. 10/10 would recommend!!!!
I absolutely loved this Mexican restaurant. Everything was great. Ordered Al pastor, carne asada and pork belly tacos. Delish!!! Ordered margaritas and white wine sangria, loved both all of it. Our server, Didi, was fantastic. Please ask for him when you are here. Definitely recommend this spot!!!
Amazing food, and the Oaxacan old fashioned is awesome! Also if you are celiac the whole restaurant is gluten free so you can eat everything and not worry!
Delicious food with ample gluten free and vegetarian options. Fresh flavors and the service is kind and quick. The fig salad was the best salad i have ever had!
Dang this place is good and it's not really too pricey for the quality of the food in the middle of Sausalito. We went there during perfect weather and the inside was opened to the outside patio. The ambiance was wonderful. No matter what you order, add the pork beans and the papas bravas to it. 😋
We had a delicious birthday meal here. The service was great and the food was so flavorful! We ordered the Lamb Birria and it melted in your mouth. The chicken enchiladas flavor was absolutely delicious! We ordered the Copita Margarita and it was very refreshing. We'll definitely return here!
Stopped in here as I was craving tacos. Sat at the bar. The bartender was awesome and he made some really tasty margaritas. The wife ordered tortilla soup, which was awesome, and I had the quesabirria, which was really awesome. The sauce they serve it with is crazy good. I’d definitely go back if we’re in the north bay again.
Great Mexican restaurant in Sausalito, drinks are awesome. I started with the blood orange margaritas, my wife had the white sangria. My drink was so good I ordered another drink and tried Jalisco nights so refreshing and good. For our dinners we ordered the tamales it was phenomenal, also the chicken tinga tacos which was absolutely amazing. And the baja style cod tacos. Final verdict 5 star experience.
I am so glad we discovered this restaurant! The food was delicious, the service was friendly and attentive and my sangria was perfect. I can't eat gluten so that fact that the restaurant is completely gluten-free was wonderful! I could eat anything from the menu! And my company, who can eat gluten, also enjoyed everything they had and didn't notice the lack of it. I also appreciated that the hand washing sinks were located outside of the toilets so patrons could wash hands without waiting for full facilities. We all had the Baja-Style Cod which we each thought was amazing, and started with guacamole and chips and ceviche. The portions were just right. I hope Copita opens in NY!!!
Super fun and enjoyable Mexican restaurant to try in Sausalito! This was on my list for a long time, and I’m happy I stopped by to try it. I felt like all the food was tasty, especially the appetizers. I got the ceviche, chips with guacamole, and salad. For entrees The mole enchiladas really stood out, and the mole was exceptional quality. The drinks were alright and didn’t feel too strong. Overall however I’d say this is one of the best spots I’ve gone to in Sausalito and would go back.
Service was excellent. Atmosphere was clean with a quaint vibe. Ingredients were fresh with vibrant flavors. If eating there with littles, the cheese quesadilla is made with handmade corn tortillas (no flour tortillas available). Really enjoyed our lunch at Copita while in Sausalito.
Nom nom nom! ¡Muy deliciouso! We stopped in for lunch while on a tour of San Francisco and Muir Woods. They served water in empty tequila bottle which was so cool and had a yummy pickled veggie starter complete with chilé. Wow! We had the eloté, empanadas and tacos. All were fantastic! Service was phenomenal and views were top notch for people watching. Stop in and have a bite and sip!
The tortilla soup was delicious and very filling! They give a generous portion of shredded chicken and tortilla strips! The guacamole tastes fresh with minimal additives! And the chips are thin and crispy AND ADDICTIVE. I did also taste the pork belly tacos and thought they were a bit dry. Overall I’ll come back. The vibe is great! The whole restaurant opens up to street walking downtown views! I recommend the cherry margarita 🍒
November 19, 2025 From Millet Alberta. We had the Coctel Mixto Ceviche, Crispy Pork Belly and Baja Style Cod Tacos. It was all amazing! Our waitress was amazing! We recommend this restaurant if visiting Saulsalito! Scott & Stephanie
This restaurant is amazing food is fabulous and staff that go above and beyond! I have come here a couple of times. And today i came to just walk around a saw a woman who had fallen. I went to the restaurant to ask for bandages and they immediately got me bandages, antiseptic and wet cloth. So kind. Thank you staff! You are amazing!!!!
This is a go-to for me when I have visitors from out of town. Awesome food, really best of kind in Marin. The empanadas are to die for, tacos delish, atmosphere super festive and right on the main area near ferry in Sausalito. Super crowd pleaser! Often crowded (wait time) during peak hours and weekends. Super friendly staff and great service!
Decent spot for Mexican food in Sausalito, but nothing extraordinary. The nachos and salsa were great, and the tacos/enchiladas were okay. I’d skip the wings next time, though. Good for a casual bite if you're in the area, but there's room for improvement on the mains.
Nice vibe, decent Mexican food. Best thing is that everything is gluten free. Slightly pricey but that’s expected of Sausalito and for such a nice interior. I have heard great things about the ceviche and pork belly tacos and would love to come back to try those
Copita in Sausalito is an excellent spot for authentic Mexican food. The dishes are flavorful and well-prepared, and the atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming. On top of that, the drinks and tequila selection are fantastic — some of the best I’ve had. It’s a great place to relax, enjoy real Mexican cuisine, and sip a perfectly crafted cocktail while taking in the Sausalito vibe. Highly recommended!
We were on a tour and stopped in Sausalito for lunch, so we decided to try copita. The place was nice, clean, and the staff was friendly. The drinks were great, and the food was delicious. The chicken tortilla soup was amazing, and the guacamole was perfect. Chicken tacos were decent as well. Prices were within range with most restaurants in California. If we make it back out there, we will definitely come back here.
Had a great time on a weekday afternoon. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the weather and the vibe of Sausalito. Food was good. Had the fish and shrimp tacos, but had a hard time determining the difference in taste between the two. Had to use the fantastic salsa and sauces that come the tortilla chips to kick it up a notch. Service was excellent and food came out fast.
Great place for modern Mexican cuisine. The restaurant itself has a great view of the harbor, indoor and outdoor seating available. The salsa and chips hit the spot. We asked for a spicy salsa that they had just made and it was delicious. We got their Tetela Oaxaca, asparagus salad with mint dressing, and their chicken tortilla soup. I highly recommend the asparagus salad as it was very refreshing. The chicken tortilla soup was full of flavor and filling. My only complaint would be that their Tetela did not have enough stuffing. If I were to go back I would try their Quesabirria with lamb next.
Enjoyed the food. Carne Asada tacos and beans. Food needed to be hotter (heat wise). Beautiful place with a nice view. Outdoor seating is very nice
We Ate dinner here about 7 years ago. When we visited Sausalito again, we knew we wanted to go back. We started with White Sangria and a Margarita. The Margarita was lighter and not as sweet as most and was very refreshing. The white Sangria had tequila in it, so it wasn’t the best because I don’t care for tequila, but if you do you might like it. We shared the chips, salsa (2 kinds) and guacamole. The chips were great. The salsa verde was very flavorful. The dark salsa had quite a chipotle Smokey flavor. The guacamole didn’t have a lot of seasoning. I ordered the Coconut Campechano with scallops, shrimp and flounder. It came with chips as well. The coconut was very light and blended very well with the other ingredients. My friend ordered the chicken tinga tacos. She didn’t love the seasoning but thought they were good. Great service and location!!
Unfortunately our experience here was disappointing. I was so excited to try Copita because I have celiac and it is so frustrating to have to ask questions about allergy safety and cross contamination protocols every time I try to eat at a restaurant. They advertise as 100% gluten free which is why I immediately got nervous when the couple at the table next to us were drinking regular glutinous beers. After looking at Find Me Gluten Free, many other restaurants in Sausalito have great celiac safety ratings and next time we will dine elsewhere. That being said the food didn’t get me sick and tasted fine but it was absolutely drowning in grease. I felt a different kind of ill after our meal because of how much oil was pooling around the dish. The worst part was the service which was honestly very poor. We asked to sit outside and they tucked us away into the corner where we were ignored for a while. We ordered chips with our entrees and they forgot to add them onto our order. After getting up to find an employee not once, not twice but THREE times they finally brought us chips after the other two people in our party had already finished their meals. The server said she’d take it off our bill for the inconvenience and of course once I got up for a fourth time to find someone to bring the bill, they tried to charge us for the chips and looked at me like I was a piece of garbage when I said we’d already been told it wouldn’t be on the bill. Nobody asked how our food was or thanked us for dining there.
The place is beautiful and has a lovely atmosphere and kind staff. The portions were small, the ceviche options in particular will know full you up, but makes for a fine snack. The tuna tostada was somewhat bland and very small. The summer salad came undressed. The tacos were more sizable, but also somewhat flavorless and needed salsa. Overall it was a beautifully presented meal, but the food quality and portion size was disappointing.
As a restaurant in a busy tourist area, Copita’s prices are naturally higher. When we visited, the waiter and the servers were friendly, but the hostess looked grumpy. Seating was uncomfortable (tables too closed to each other). Presentation of the dishes were good. the taste was pretty good too. After trying this restaurant, I have to say that I prefer traditional Mexican food over the “modern” version.
Visited on a Sunday evening on the way back from Muir Woods. From the outset, resto was busy, had a good atmosphere, service was great, however unfortunately the food didn't live up to the service, decor or atmosphere. Starter was tuna cerviche, which was prob the best thing we ate. As for the mains, chicken enchilada and baha fish tacos were sub par, given the price point. The chicken in the enchiladas was overcooked and stringy, and over sauced with mole/enchilada sauce (mole/enchilada sauce was actually nice, but way too much in our opinion). The baha fish taco, was pretty much batter, very little fish content, and could have benefitted from a secondary taco underneath as the single taco tortilla soon lost its structure with the sauce.
Food was great. Got three really small tacos and they were good but my wallet was pissed. Ordered an appetizer and it came out after we ate our main. So that’s why service only gets two stars. Place is very expensive.
NOT your typical Mexican restaurant – it’s a fusion place, and not in a good way. I came in expecting classic Mexican flavors, but what I got was bizarre and disappointing. I ordered the Enchiladas De Pollo En Mole Manchamanteles, and it was honestly awful. The mole was overwhelmingly bitter and filled with apple and lots of cinnamon — it tasted more like a confused dessert than an actual entrée. I barely made it through one enchilada before feeling nauseous. I normally enjoy mole, but this was the worst version I’ve ever had. My friends tried the Chicken Tinga Tacos, and those weren’t much better. The tomato flavor was overpowering, and there were no onions in tacos. COME ON! The whole thing lacked balance, seasoning, and overall flavor. Just bland and unappetizing. Easily the worst Mexican restaurant experience I’ve had. If you’re looking for traditional flavors or even a well-executed fusion — this isn’t it.
Paid over $26 for their shrimp enchiladas 2 to 3 tiny pieces of shrimp in each one, main ingredients were onions, cooked peppers and cheese, asked waiter about lack of shrimp he said I know nothing I can do about it. It’s what they do here. Did bring me bowl of shrimp, guess rip off tourist who don’t know better. Avoid this place. Waiter also added due to increase in price of shrimp they don’t use as much anymore, Very, very poor food
