Herbie's Burgers

Burgers are on par with Five Guys, if not better. Easily. Fries legit taste like McDonald's fries, I think they used the same supplier or something, and there's not a heart attack worth of salt on them. But enough to be enjoyable. Honestly this is my favorite local place for burgers period. Its become a regular for me and my partner when we want some takeout/ordered food.

Went here twice for lunch during my weekend stay. Reasonably priced and excelent quality. My only issue was the obnoxious lady working the counter on Sunday. She clearly did not want to be there.

Gritty atmosphere that has an authentic local no-frills feel. The food is simple but delicious; the Nerdy Bird in particular is amazing - spicy breaded chicken with pickles and aioli on a potato bun that puts other chain chicken sandwiches to shame. The service was even better when we visited; the person at the register apologized up front for the brief wait because they had a big order in process and was great at communicating about the status of our food. I wish I lived in the area so I could come here more often.

Skip the loaded fries, and go for the tenders if you don’t mind them being a bit dry for an excellent crisp. The Jalapeño aioli recommended to me by the lady was great— and so was her caring energy. Would go back and try the burgers

First timer at the Schenectady location. Ordered ahead so the food wasn't as hot and fresh as if ordered and eaten right there. Still, a solid 3.5 stars. The burger was tasty and the toppings were fresh and chilled. The chocolate shake was good, not great. The shoestring french fries were decent. Clean place, friendly staff. Worth a try.

Edit: I've been going here with a friend for months now and it's become a favorite of mine. I think their chicken sandwich was absolutely fantastic, but the last few times I've come, the recipe has been different, and now it's just ok. Herbie's, PLEASE bring back your old chicken sandwich recipe! The breading and flavor used to be divine. The service was fast and the workers were friendly. I got a strawberry milkshake and a cheeseburger. The milkshake was expensive but very delicious. The burger was good but overpriced in my opinion.

Delicious burgers,fries,shakes. It is on jay street in Schenectady so......it's nothing fancy but they are open till like 2am so after a show or a quick bite they have tasty food.

The burger itself was a letdown for the price and size. While loaded with tasty toppings, the patty itself lacked flavor. I was hoping for a more impressive burger considering the cost. The milkshake was a simple vanilla with no real depth of flavor. For a better shake recommendation, 5 Guys definitely deliver. The staff were very friendly and quick with the order. The layout of the restaurant is also very vintage diner style. Overall, the service was excellent.

If you want a good burger and good loaded fries consistently go to the Albany location! They are so friendly and the food is consistent.

The person I was with got a burger with fries and a shake with no whipped cream. They made it with whipped cream, so instead of remaking it, they pulled one out of the freezer that prolly wasn't freshly made. The fries were stale, they didn't taste like the fresh Herbie shoestring fries I'm used to. I got a burger, and it had a hair in it :/ Ngl I was gonna ask them to remake it, but it was 10:30 at night. Hope they figure things out over there, it's disappointing that the quality dropped at the Schenectady location.

I've been ordering from them for a long time and almost every other night on uber for delivery but since past couple weeks my order is always messed up, the taste isnt the same, sometimes they dont put onions and tomatoes that I pay extra for on the burger, sometimes pickle is missing like the most basic ingredient, sometimes they dont send the sides I ordered and paid extra for and more than 4 times they forgot to give soda to the driver. I barely write reviews but I was really pissed off cause the same thing happened tonight. I dont know if the management or the closing shift changed lately but it's my request if anyone is seeing this please please please fix this issue cause it's my almost everyday late night go to snack!!! *attaching a screenshot of my order history so that you wont think I am lying* Thank you Happy holidays and Happy new year!!!

Fries are okay, No flavor to them, honestly. It's not a place I'd ever sit down and eat at. The music was so loud that I couldn't hardly hear what the guy at the counter was saying. I feel like I throughout 15$. Truly though, the size of the burger patty is a joke.

I was excited to try a local burger joint with a vegan burger. I got the Vegan Single. Vegan patty was basically a crunchy piece of black charcoal. When I tried to send it back I was told that’s how they come. I had asked if their vegan Herbie sauce had anything even remotely hot (spicy) in it, as cancer has left my mouth extremely sensitive to spice. I was told no. My mouth was burning afterward. I will not be back.

The food was amazing. The service was awful. Whoever that manager is needs to get fired. All I did was order my food and she was rude irritated and frustrated. Respectfully, if people coming in giving you a food order bothers you please work in a different field that doesn’t require talking to customers, as it was disappointing to be talked to that way.

This place is absolutely disgusting, maybe the ownership should visit with their eyes open, has the place been cleaned in months? Probably not if they have ZERO pride in their dining room they can't have pride in the food. Only diet soda available in the machine the cooler had only old style coke bottles and two bottles of water from Walmart. If you are hurting for money that bad you can't buy cleaning supplies and have beverages to consume just close
