Saint Urban knocked it out of the park! My visit was during Arizona Restaurant Week, and honestly, the entire experience was flawless, from the drinks to the service, to the unique dining style. I started with a Lemon Drop from their happy hour cocktail menu, which was perfectly tart and refreshing. Our server, Jason, deserves major praise. He had such a beautiful smile and warm personality that made the whole evening enjoyable and welcoming. Truly exceptional service! I did the 5-course Restaurant Week menu, and what I loved most was that everything was served tapas style. This meant each dish arrived fresh, and for every course, we received new plateware and utensils, which felt incredibly thoughtful and elevated the whole experience. The food was delicious: we had the Goddess Chopped Salad, the flavorful Koreatown Beef Tacos, the sweet and sticky Sweet Sesame Rice, and the perfectly cooked Santa Maria Tri Tip. We finished with the rich Flourless Chocolate Torte. Every single bite was enjoyable. The concept, the quality of the food, and the outstanding hospitality (thanks, Jason!) made this an awesome experience. Highly recommend Saint Urban for a special night out!
Since moving to Scottsdale in Feb., my boyfriend and I have made many visits to Saint Urban! Safe to say it’s one of our favorites in the area. This is the spot we take anyone who comes to visit us. Love their happy hour, cocktails, and how all of the plates are meant to be shared. Great atmosphere and service as well! We’ve managed to try most of the menu by now and we literally haven’t had a bad bite here! Our favorites are the noble bread (with house butter & jam) to start, which is a must order! Bacon steak, truffle fries, steak tartare, and the Koreatown beef tacos. Save room for the chocolate chip cookies too!
We’ve been missing out on this place! We drive past it all the time and live up the street but haven’t done until tonight because we had a gift card. After tonight though, we will definitely be back! For starters the hostess was really nice. Even recommended a pie from a sweet shop in the plaza while she was finding our seat (butterscotch pecan, 10/10, thanks for the recommendation)! Next, our server Steve was SO LOVELY. Very attentive, very kind, very upbeat and was super sweet and apologetic when our wings took a little longer than I think was expected by their standards (although, honestly they didn’t seem to take that long to us). Seriously can not shout out Steve and his service enough! We started with the sourdough bread, AZ butter and house Jam. The bread was so soft and the jam was really good (I think maybe cherry). We also did the West Coast Wings. And huge compliments to the chef on those. They were the perfect crispiness and the sauce was phenomenal. Probably the best wings we’ve had out here by far and we would come back just for those. Then we got girl dinner which consisted of a choice of salad and truffle fries. The fries were absolute perfection. The goodness salad was just that…goodness! We also got the 45 day dry aged New York strip. Also perfection, although, I’d recommend maybe a side of fries to go with it. All of the food tasted and looked so fresh. For drinks we got the pink flamingo, non alcoholic, perfect fruity and light little drink. And the Huss Papago beer, which was an orange blossom wheat ale, went nicely with everything. The patio was perfect for a fall Arizona night. It wasn’t too loud, wasn’t too quiet and was perfectly lit. The inside looks really nice and cozy too. I can’t believe it’s taken us this long to make it over to this restaurant but we can’t wait to go back!
My friend and I used to come to this place when it was Rockefeller, now under new ownership, still just as good. The place looks the same. The atmosphere, small with a very nice vibe with a great bar, along with a nice patio. The menu is basically the same as before. Great "Happenings" deals on certain days of the week. My friend and I met friends for Cocktails and Shareable snacks on a Saturday evening. I had made reservations requesting for a booth against the wall (tends to get loud when filled with customers) It was perfect, service from Angela was great. She was extremely patient, allowing us to catch up with our friends. I also met my friend for lunch recently, we sat outside, service from Jesse was great and LOL I just came back with my friend to indulge on the "Wednesday Happening"... 1/2 off the Salt Water Saints Raw Bar. It did not disappoint. Between the 3 times we've been there, we've had the Shrimp Cocktail, Raw Oysters, Hamachi Salt Bock, Hamachi & Grapefruit Crudo, Bruschetta Board, Plancha Artichokes, Marinated Olives, Blistered Shishito Peppers, Steak Tartare, and the Salmon Sweet Sesame Rice. All the food was excellent, not one bad choice. The Cocktails were all good, though I feel the cocktails were better made at the evening time versus the lunch time. Forget about the Happy Hour minis, they're 1/2 off the price of a regular size but the are also half the size. Atmosphere: small, upscale restaurant with great vibe. Service: excellent. Food: excellent.
Another concept from Chef Christopher. We had a wonderful lunch but will have to come back for another try. We went back for dinner and it was very loud with the music turned up too far. Very uncomfortable. We asked the staff to turn it down which they did some but it was still nearly impossible to have a conversation. Probably won't go back.
Saint Urban in Scottsdale is a hidden gem, especially for bruschetta lovers! Their selection is creative and delicious, with fresh, high-quality ingredients that burst with flavor. The crispy bread paired with inventive toppings makes every bite a delight. The cozy yet stylish atmosphere adds to the experience, making it perfect for a fun night out.
Such a beautiful restaurant with knowledgeable staff and delicious food! Perfect for a girl’s night out or a quick lunch. Loved the orange glazed chicken. Way better quality than other bruschetta spots in the valley.
We always appreciate the restaurants that the Collins folks create. The food is consistent and creative, the service is professional and warm plus the stores themselves are beautiful. We decided to try out their newest restaurant, Saint Urban and we really enjoyed our time. The menu is “wine bar” meets real restaurant. There is charcuterie, bruschetta and so on but also foods wine bars typically don’t offer. We tried quite a few of them. The Plancha Artichokes are a fun dish in which the artichokes are sous vide in olive oil then pressed flat on the plancha to make them crispy yet all of it is edible. Lots of great flavor and textures here. We also were big fans of the salt block sashimi. Hamachi was our choice and it is a dramatic presentation on a Himalayan salt block. It does season the fish, which was perfectly fresh. We loved the goodness chopped salad, deviled eggs, sweet sesame rice with tuna, fried green tomato baguette, tempura green beans and orange-ginger chicken thighs. The sweet ricotta & berries trifle was our dessert and it we ate all of it despite being rather full by that time. The vibe was fun with a bit of gothic church hints along with a contemporary feel. You could dress up or down and still feel like you belong. Saint Urban is definitely a great addition to the Collins group of restaurants.
We had a wonderful experience overall and looking around, it seemed like everyone else was enjoying themselves while receiving wonderful service throughout the restaurant. Wide selection of foods and drinks.
Exceptional experience from start to finish. Beautiful restaurant. Phoenix was our server and she was so pleasant and gave amazing service. Drinks and food were 11/10. Nick brought us their flourless chocolate cake(phenomenal), I believe he was a manager and welcomed us as it was our first time in. So kind. We can’t wait to come back.
The steak tartare is excellent, but the orange ginger chicken thighs are simply amazing. Also highly recommend the kimchi wings. The only thing I wouldn't get again is the steak sandwich as the steak was overcooked, making the sandwich very dry.
This was an excellent spot for a quick lunch. The menu options are amazing for a reasonable price - I highly recommend the BLT and the fries. Amazing. 🥪
The mini lemon drop martini was a great starter, I may have had a few of those bad boys. Started with a really first class shrimp cocktail with a nicely spicy cocktail sauce. Nice sized good tasting firm shrimp. Deep fried green beens are good, but the dipping sauce that comes with is really, really unique and all kinds of tasty, only to be upstaged by the chicken skin flavored bitter that come with the Noble bread service. That flavored butter I could marry! The bar is great as well, and super nice patio!
Food was mostly really good and well-executed. Good wine list by the glass with some less common varietals. Enclosed patio mutes traffic noise. Should be a fun vibe. The menu is a little hard to navigate. Shared plates or not shared plates? Charcuterie boards that don’t come with anything (what am I supposed to do with this cheese?) but generous bruschetta same price right next to it. No portion sizes indicated on rest of menu such as shrimp cocktail or oysters or sushi rice dishes, nor that “loaf” (sandwiches) come with fries or a salad choice. So, the charcuterie board comes out first and we are underwhelmed, I didn’t even bother with a pic. The bread is Noble and delicious but $8. Chicken butter yummy though. From there everything was better. Bruschetta has a pile of prosciutto, fried green beans come with a flavorful sauce, kimchi wings are devoured. “Girl salad” a perfect choice, the shoestring potatoes were described as “addictive.” Tri Tip sandwich piled high and the beef was perfectly cooked. Will return.
This place is incredible. Food, drinks, employees, style, vibe is A+++! This is a walkable distance to my house and my boyf and I are already recognized as regulars. Hah! We can't wait to keep coming back over and over again. See ya soon Sasha & Zack & the wonderful Nick!
Went during happy hour and the amount of food we got for the price was astounding. I got the bruschetta and Korean taco and had leftovers to take home. Not to mention our server Jerica was AMAZING! Highly recommend this place for a nice dinner or quick lunch.
Spontaneous stumble in before I knew this place was even open and so glad we did ! While I am mourning the loss of Rockefeller, I am thrilled to see Saint Urban in this space (and not just because they kept tiny 'tinis on their HH menu). The menu is well priced with a large range of drinks (wine cocktails and NA) and would make for a great snacky stop or a more robust meal. It's unpretentious, the space is intimate/inviting and Chef even poured us some wine when we visited ! I can only speak to the few bites we had, but so far so good ! Certainly rivaled any other wine and board deal around town (only disappointment was the Avocado bruschetta left a little to be desired). I can't wait to go back to this neighborhood gem and make it our go to spot.
Such a vibe! Gorgeous bar in the center with comfy booths around the perimeter. The tempura green beans were delicious, the cocktails and beer didn’t disappoint. The cookie for dessert is a must! We will be back.
I celebrated my bday last month with a large group and they were able to accommodate while being attentive, kind, and ensuring all of us were enjoying the meal! Steven went above & beyond. He somehow juggled our multiple orders, waited on others, and made the entire experience unforgettable! The manager Michael helped with the booking originally & introduced himself during the dinner while sending birthday wishes over to me! ALL of my friends have texted me they want to go back. Ive been here multiple times and our food is always consistent along with great drinks! a great spot for all occasions ❤️
A couple friends met here for weekend brunch. The food was interesting and delicious. The service was great even though we marveled at how one person was able to handle the entire front of house with occasional help from someone from the back.
We stopped in for a quick bite and a drink since we were in the area. Enjoyed talking with the staff and definitely plan on coming back to sample more of the menu and the cocktail list!
Really tasty food and super quick service. The vibe is great, and free covered parking is a nice bonus. Love that happy hour goes all day on Sundays!
Incredible food, delightful atmosphere and wonderful staff! Phoenix took exceptional care of our table of 6 with several wine tastings prior to settling on a few bottles!
Saint Urban is an incredible spot in Scottsdale! The atmosphere is stylish yet super welcoming—perfect for a date night or hanging out with friends. The food was absolutely delicious, with West Coast-inspired shareable dishes that were bursting with flavor. The cocktails? Fantastic! Every drink we tried was perfectly crafted and paired so well with the meal. The service was top-notch too—friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. We can’t wait to go back for another amazing evening!
This place has it all! Atmosphere has a delightful ambiance. If you sit outside, you do hear the traffic. However, you are still able to speak to your table mates without raising your voice. Perfect amount of food options on the menu for every type of foodie and everything we had was absolutely delicious. The cocktails are out of this world!
Very excited to try Saint Urban as I am a fan of Chris Collins' other restaurants. Cocktails were delicious and server was very knowledgeable about all of the flavor profiles. There were so many delicious things but hands down the best was the pork milanese. Absolutely amazing! Would go back just for that! The deviled eggs, tempura green beans, tri tip and filet skewers weren't anything to skip either! The vibe is casual, comfortable but with a little class that makes sitting on the patio magical. Can't say enough good things and definitely will be back.
St. Urban AZ...what a great new place to visit for McCormick Ranch. Food and drinks were fantastic. Had the deviled eggs, bruschetta and sweet sesame rice. I don't even like beets and the beet salad was tasty. My wife says they are even healthy. Something for everyone. Can't wait to try the chicken thighs and oysters next. Prices were extremely reasonable. The team at St. Urban all had smiles on their face. I even went back a few days later for take out meat and cheese. Hospitality is off the charts.
The menu was really fantastic, I had a hard time choosing! The food was very yummy, the service was great. Our server was attentive, happy and sweet. My friend and I really enjoyed our late dinner and will be back very soon. Oh, the drinks were great, too!
The food was seriously SO good! Everything is shareable and We ordered several dishes per “round”. Everything was amazing, but The standout items for me were the beet appetizer , the artichoke, and the tacos. I don’t eat pork but everyone else at the table raved about the grilled cheese that had some type of pork in it. Our server Jocelyn was very cool and attentive. Can’t wait to go back and try everything else on the menu!
We decided to give Saint Urban a shot after hearing mixed things about it. For us, it was a great experience! We asked our server for a suggestion to start us off while we enjoyed our adult beverages. She suggested the Tempura Green Beans, and they were delicious. My wife ordered a specialty cocktail, and I had a glass of Zinfandel. Both were just great. For our main courses, we split a Stacked Greens Caesar salad. My wife had the Pork Milanese, and I had both the Koreatown Beef Taco and the Santa Maria Tri Tip. All were excellent! We were so stuffed we didn't have room for any of the delectible-sounding desserts. Next time for sure!
Our new favorite happy hour and dinner spot! The cocktail menu is top notch and everything we ordered was delicious. They even have Noble Bread (so delicious). Our server Stephen took the best care of us!
First time trying this restaurant. My visit was during Arizona Restaurant Week. The salad and dessert were the highlights of the meal. The tacos were lacking flavor and very greasy. The service was ok. We did have to ask for the complimentary water to be brought to our table. The noise level inside seemed rather loud. Indoor seating is very limited. Thankfully, my reservation was for outdoor seating.
I have been 3 times and have sat at the bar and they were great! My first 2 visits the bartender was wonderful and engaged a lot with us sitting at the bar. Happy hour on Sunday is just what I need 👌🏾😁
Saint Urban isn't just a restaurant; it's a culinary revelation, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment we walked in, the entire experience, from the gorgeous atmosphere to the spectacular food, was simply top-tier. The service deserves the highest praise. Our servers, Steven and Jason, truly went above and beyond to make our lunch unforgettable. They were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm, embodying the kind of hospitality that turns a great meal into a cherished memory. Seriously, Saint Urban, hang on to those two—they are rockstars! And oh, the desserts! If you go, you absolutely must save room for the sweets. The cookie was an unbelievable treat, but the coconut pie was a transcendent experience—perfectly balanced and an exquisite finish to the meal. A Menu of Brilliant Hits and Bold Ideas The entire menu is a playground of great flavors and intriguing concepts. The pastrami baguette was a massive, unexpected highlight. The flavor, texture, and generous portion size exceeded all my expectations. The bacon steak was also quite good, and the goodness salad was a solid, well-executed dish I'd rate an easy 8 out of 10. The fries were stellar—perfectly cooked with a great texture and taste. The sesame rice was a standout dish; it was absolutely delicious and the presentation was great, showing the kitchen's creative flair. I appreciate Saint Urban's willingness to experiment with flavors. The wings were solid, and the deviled eggs were certainly an interesting take, though I'm not sure I'd order the deviled eggs again. The same goes for the taco: while it was a neat idea, it could use a little boost in flavor—perhaps just a bit more salt and pepper to really make it pop. On that note, I have a friendly challenge for the kitchen: Imagine a brilliant, savory fried rice topped with your high-quality salmon, yellowtail, or tiger shrimp. I truly believe that could be a smash hit and a brilliant addition to an already strong menu! Overall, Saint Urban is a must-visit. The food is creative and mostly outstanding, the ambiance is perfect for a special night out, and the service from people like Steven and Jason elevates the entire experience to something truly special. Go for the atmosphere, stay for the sublime coconut pie, and thank me later!
First time here a few weeks ago. We sampled the happy hour menu. The food was decent, the mini drinks were a miss for me. I'd like to get back to try their regular menu. And their patio will be great for fall/winter.
Our waitress was attentive, but very detached. Food was good but I can't really talk about it much because we only had Happy Hour appetizers. The vibe was pleasant, but we were hustled out of our booth quickly to accommodate another party. There were only 3 of us, so not sure why they didn't sit us someplace where a reservation was not upcoming so soon. But, no matter, we did enjoy the time we were there.
First time visit and excellent. Did happy hour menu with mini martinis abd shared several plates including the beef tartar which was very good and served authentically with an egg and grainy mustard, chopped onion and toast points. The ground was well seasoned but not salty or overbearing. Great shisito peppers, flattened artichoke hearts were excellent. Nice vibe and decor. Will definitely go again to try other foods. Good wine selection also.
Kimchi wings were our favorite! Great flavor and crunch with minimal spice. Shishito peppers with soy caramel and coconut were also delightful, maybe wish this was coconut shavings instead since it was hard to keep the flakes on the actual pepper. Beet salad was exactly what you’d expect! Earthy taste of the beets mixed with the goat cheese and honey was just as it should be. Caesar salad was solid and enjoyed the crunch of the breadcrumbs. Last on our list would be the Koreatown tacos. The hard shell taco threw us off and took off points for presentation and the taco itself just wasn’t anything special. Ambience felt like somewhere you’d bring a client for lunch. Corporate feel and not very warm.
Mixed feelings on this one (3 feels too low but 4 feels too high). Service was great and the wine pours are generous (who doesn't love that?) However, the food was lackluster. The bread was pretty good, but not worth the $11 it came out to after adding the jam and butter. The sandwich was pretty good, but definitely lacked depth and was missing something. The orange chicken thighs were also pretty good, but again, definitely missing something. Kinda feels like a watered down version of Houston's but with loud music (if that makes sense). This would be a great happy hour spot or just a nice lil lunch and martini time. Wouldn't come back for dinner though!
This restaurant boasts a vibrant atmosphere, complete with a sprawling bar, indoor and outdoor seating, and an extensive cocktail menu. The wine-by-the-glass selection is also impressive, making it a great spot for drinks. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the same standard. We ordered the “girl dinner,” filet skewers, hamachi, and fried green beans. While the hamachi was incredibly fresh and delicious, the filet skewers were overcooked and dry, and the fries lacked seasoning. We brought the issue with the skewers to the manager’s attention, but nothing was done to address it. On a sweeter note, the chocolate pie for dessert was absolutely phenomenal—easily the highlight of the meal. For the price point, the quality of the food left us disappointed. While it’s a great spot for cocktails or happy hour, we’re unlikely to return for a full meal unless improvements are made.
We're locals and have been in several times and each time is a mystery - good food with meh service or meh food with good service? Recently, it's been good snacks and meh service and not great drinks. We sat at the bar and literally zero small talk from the bartender, a poorly made cosmo, and never a "how is everything?" For a $20 relatively small charcuterie board, at least ask me if I'm liking it. 🤣 Really hard to want to come back. I'd rather go to Goose, Collin's or take a 2 min uber over to Wally's for dinner (way different energy but same owner but food, service, cocktails are always sooo much better).
Nice bar atmosphere and great central Scottsdale location. Good happy hour from 3-6 with nice wines on the list. Service is barely one star. Sitting with dirty dishes in front of us for over 30 mins now. Two bartenders for 9 people at the bar and they can’t be bothered to help us. Need to do better!
Service was impeccable along with the drinks and app's (charcuterie) but reason for lower 3-star's was the food... They gave a shoulder (chuck) steak that was just tough meet and bland, also priced very high. Swapped it for their Taco's and neither of our party was a fan of them, felt re-heated and shell was so basic. Come here for drinks and apps it'll be a wonderful time. Providing feedback for a revamped food menu.
All of the food we ordered outside of the chocolate chip cookie was not good. The drinks were really nice. The waitress did not know much about the menu. I highly suggest they invest in training their team on the menu. The food was cold and came out before the drinks which tells me they just reheat the food. The ambiance is beautiful. It is unfortunate they did not invest in the menu and their team.
Surprised that after only being open a week they were doing well on service. Pacing off and meal rushed so I think they are missing out on more drink orders. Oysters came out before drinks and server took our order while eating our appetizers. Hostess acknowledged birthday but server did not. Wing sauce was good but not impressive, filet kabobs were cooked perfectly and salad was great, pork Milanese a little overcooked and could have had more flavor. Shoestring fries not hot but were tasty. Nice selection of wines and cocktails. The charcuterie and bruschettas looked really good and we will go back to try it again.
Our 2nd visit some months after the opening. Arrived at 5pm for some happy hour. Frantic environment. Waited about ten minutes for our server who didn’t introduce herself but instead asked what can I get you. Ordered Korean beef tacos, Parmesan fries, spicy wings and burrata with blistered tomatoes and toasts. Forget the tacos…bland and lukewarm with a shell that was what you would purchase at the supermarket. Fries were warm and not crispy…but had good flavor. Wings were solid and nicely sauced…six for twelve. Finally the burrata with arugula and tomatoes.. very good flavor but not much arugula! Grassroots is a model of good food and reliable service. St. Urban feels like they are trying to find themselves. The service was impersonal and frantic. The wings and burrata were solid. Would skip the others.
Great atmosphere, beautiful outdoor space. Small plates and large wine list. I got a perfectly executed dirty gin martini and truffle shoestring potato fries. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The promise of the menu was deflated by a simple lack of acid, or salt, in a lot of the other dishes we got - pork belly grilled cheese, I’d say it’s more like thick over smoked bacon and tons of great tasting cheese but it needs acid. The kimchi glazed chicken wings tasted like watered down kimchi when mixed with the fat on the under fried wing. My husband liked the deviled eggs but I found them on par with my Moms (not saying much). Will definitely give the place a try again, maybe got them on an off night!
When this used to be Rockefellers, they were much more gluten friendly. Of course the atmosphere is just as gorgeous. The waitress was not familiar with gluten-free and what they did ultimately have was so very limited (salad, cheese, steak, shrimp). No gluten-free bread, no gluten-free crackers for the charcuterie, no gluten-free pasta, just no accommodations at all. Gluten-free crackers are good for an extremely long time, it’s such a simple accommodation. That’s probably not a game changer for everyone else, but for people food restrictions (even common ones) I would totally avoid Saint Urban. They didn’t know what was in anything. Limited European or other world wines, mostly only California (read: headaches). This type of restaurant won’t last long in Scottsdale if they don’t start to do better with accommodations and variety.
literally filled with sand. I had 2 servers and a manager come over to insist it was not sand but breadcrumbs (no breadcrumbs in this salad) and that they had in fact washed the lettuce. Nothing was taken off our bill and no one trained them that the customer is always right... which I was!
I sent back sashimi because it was served warm. The chef doubled down, argued that sashimi should be served warm, and followed it with a condescending lecture starting with “for a little education.” I didn’t ask for a lesson. I asked for properly handled raw fish. I’m intentionally not naming him. He’s new, but arrogance this early is a bad look. I’m in the industry, raised around it, and I know the difference between confidence and disrespect. In serious kitchens and dining rooms, that interaction wouldn’t fly. The bar service, however, was excellent, professional, attentive, and handled everything the right way. A couple of the bartenders even went out of their way to apologize for the chef, which says a lot. The rest of the appetizers and drinks were genuinely very good, until the chef’s attitude ultimately spoiled what could have been a solid dinner. I’ll be back. How this is handled going forward matters.
