One of the best restaurants in Seattle! First the food: there was four of us so we shared quite a few amazing dishes. The Kereviz was amazing, I could have eaten the whole bowl myself but I had to share. The Chi Kufta was a perfectly spicy bite that was a flavor explosion. The Pide was so comforting and warm. The kebab was one of the best, if not the best kebab I’ve ever had - and I’ve had a lot of kebabs over the years. So juicy and flavorful. The steak was so flavorful and perfectly executed. It was bar none the best steak I have ever had. The rice pudding desert was such and amazing combination of sweet and salty and beautiful textures. Even if you think you don’t like rice puddings, you have to try it. You will change your mind. Finally, the cocktails were so unique and delicious. Perfectly balanced. Don’t miss out on them. The atmosphere was wonderful and the service was spot on. So warm and inviting and not pretentious in anyway. An overall wonderful dining experience. I forgot to take pics of the deserts, the steak and the drinks!
This is our new favorite restaurant in Seattle! Don’t let the exterior fool you- the interior is an oasis for the senses. Every dish was delightful and so flavorful. We’ve already planned out what we’ll order next time. Don’t miss the Kebap and the Havuc!
Hamdi Restaurant is simply outstanding! From the moment you walk in, the warm and attentive service sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The menu is a true celebration of Turkish cuisine with authentic threads that result in artistic yet creative, beautifully crafted confections by the chef-owner himself. Highlights of our meal included the refreshing- scrumptious Karpuz Salatası and Kereviz, the perfectly grilled Dorado with potatoes, and a delightful finish of Turkish grandmother recipe of rice pudding served with roasted hazelnuts and pistachios. Hamdi is the perfect spot for a special occasion or a romantic dinner, exceptional food, exceptional service, and an atmosphere that makes you want to return again and again. Well done, Chef!
We had a wonderful dining experience at Hamdi . Ordered 4 dishes + dessert and some cocktails and everything was satisfying to the eyes and the palette . It is a smaller restaurant than several others most of us are used to here , so be patient while the staff do their best to navigate through customers. Everyone was smiling , working hard and courteous . I will certainly be returning :)
As a Turkish person, I can honestly say Hamdi is the best Turkish restaurant in Seattle! The food tastes truly authentic , just like home. Every dish is full of rich flavors, made with care and quality ingredients. The atmosphere is warm, and the staff are always welcoming. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to experience real Turkish cuisine!
We visited Hamdi for the 2nd time a few weeks ago and it was once again outstanding! The flavors are incredible! My favorite dishes are the pide, the kebap, & the steak. We had fun trying Kat’s own thoughtfully crafted cocktails. Service was impeccable & the team showed us a great time! We sat promptly at reservation time & the food was presented at a really nice pace. Indulged in desserts as well. Can’t wait for next visit!
We had the most exceptional dinner to celebrate our anniversary. Every single thing we ate exceeded our expectations. The staff was friendly, and knowledgeable, and the food was perfect. We ate at the chefs table and it was wonderful to enjoy the activities of the kitchen. This place should not be missed!
Hamdi never disappoints! We had an amazing night with outstanding service, warm hospitality, and most importantly amazing food. Special thanks to Chef Berk, Kat, and Asli for making our evening unforgettable!
We always have a great experience at Hamdi. Every time we visit, we enjoy trying the new dishes and cocktails on the menu. The food is delicious, and the pide and steaks are absolute must-tries.The service is excellent, and the atmosphere makes the whole evening even more special. Highly recommended!
We had such a great time at Hamdi! The atmosphere was cozy and instantly reminded us of a restaurant in NYC. Our hostess, Katrina, was wonderful—we really enjoyed chatting with her. Even though it took a little extra time to get seated and served (despite our reservation), the staff more than made up for it by treating us to our first round of drinks on the house, which was such a thoughtful gesture. As vegetarians, we’re often nervous about finding enough variety, but Hamdi had plenty of delicious options—we were absolutely full by the end! Everything was so flavorful, and the cocktails were outstanding. Overall, it was a warm, inviting experience with great food and drinks. We can’t wait to come back! Clearly we had such a good time the only pic we got was of the menu while we were waiting! hehehe
Last night was truly unforgettable. We had the chance to try almost every main dish, and each one was nothing short of legendary. From the very first bite, we were taken on a journey, a journey that honored Turkish culture with heart and soul, while using only the finest, freshest ingredients. Each dish respected tradition without trying to change it, yet carried a refined, modern touch that made everything feel fresh and vibrant. The attention to detail was incredible. You could taste the passion, the respect for tradition, and the pure joy of craftsmanship in every single plate from the vibrant starters to the rich, soulful desserts. What made the night even more special was the genuine warmth of the team. Chef Berk and Katrina and every single team member, from the kitchen to the front of the house, took the time to personally wish me a happy birthday. Their kindness and care made the celebration feel deeply personal and heartfelt. It was so clear that everyone there not only mastered their craft but truly loved what they were doing and that love made all the difference. Thank you for creating a night filled with unforgettable memories, impeccable food, and so much heart. I will always remember this birthday with a big smile and a full heart.♥️
Very delicious! Small portions but packed with lots of flavor. Wish I had taken more photos of other things we ordered but we ate before the camera did.
With their past experience at one of the best restaurants in California, Single Thread (no, not French Laundry although they also have experience there,) I had high expectations from the team behind Hamdi. They exceeded all of them! The food was divine at every step, including the best tiramisu experience I have ever had. With only four main dish options the menu is delightfully brief, though it manages to please with innovative variety, particularly with the starters. The service and the ambiance is top notch. I am definitely planning another trip to Seattle just to dine again.
Hamdi is a very special restaurant—an absolute must on our Seattle trips. In fact, it has become one of the reasons we visit Seattle! Let me start with the mezes (small appetizer plates). The Celery Root (Kereviz) was a burst of flavor in every bite. The Al Pastor Çiğ Köfte was a brilliant idea—combining classic Turkish tastes with Mexican Al Pastor spices (a sweet‑savory chili marinade). It looks beautiful and tastes even better. The Maş Piyazı is listed on the menu as “Turkish mung bean salad with pomegranate seeds, fresh herbs, and walnuts,” but that simple line doesn’t tell you how perfectly those flavors come together. Every spoonful is balanced and bright. The star of our night was the Turk‑Bone. It was served beautifully and the meat was melt‑in‑your‑mouth tender—like Turkish delight (lokum), but savory! Every dish complemented the next, making the whole meal feel complete and thoughtful. On top of the wonderful food, the warm conversation with the owners, Berk and Katrina, made the evening unforgettable. Their kindness and hospitality made us feel like old friends. We’re already planning our next Seattle trip—with Hamdi at the very top of our list. Highly recommended!
My partner and I had an amazing dinner at Hamdi. We were blown away by the flavours and presentation! We both commented that it was the best meal we have had in memory. The owners were friendly and welcoming and the rest of the staff were great too. We loved the Cig Kofte, grilled bread with celery root dip, chicken wings and the octopus. The rice pudding and Turkish coffee to finish it off was amazing! We will definitely be back when we return to Seattle!
Great Experience!!!!! We drove a long way to try Hamdi and it was worth it. The best Turkish food I have had in America. The setting was casual and beautiful. It was great to watch the open fire and the chefs at work. The service was great especially the server Melih who was very helpful and made us feel very welcome. The kebab was amazing. The meat we ate was amazing. The appetizers and Pide were delicious. I want to go back and eat there again soon. Thanks for everything Hamdi.
Hamdi is hands down the best meal I’ve had in my 5 years in Seattle. From start to finish, it was an incredible experience. The ambiance is cozy yet chic. The service is truly exceptional. Though we had to wait a bit for our reserved table, the staff more than made up for it by serving us a complimentary glass of cava, which set the tone for a great night. Now, for the food—absolutely out of this world. The steak was so orgasmic that I literally found myself sucking on the bone to savor every last bite. My only regret? We wanted to order a second steak, but unfortunately they were sold out. Even so, the entire meal was a gastronomic journey into another realm. Highly recommend.
We recently traveled to Seattle and this was our favorite meal on the trip. Everything was perfect and everyone was so nice. Highly recommended.
I had an incredible dinner at Hamdi in Seattle! Chef Berk crafted every dish with such skill and creativity, bringing out the best in each Turkish fusion flavor. From the mezze to the main courses, each plate was a perfect blend of tradition and modern flair. The food was not only delicious but beautifully presented—truly a memorable experience! Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy Turkish cuisine with a unique twist.
Inventive and daring, and supremely tasty, dishes in an industrial setting. Service and cocktails were equally excellent. Hamdi is a standout in the Seattle dining scene and a personal favorite!
This is one of my favorite seattle restaurants. I appreciate the thoughtfulness that go into the food. The spices that was used and overall the uniqueness. You can tell the owners of the restaurant are very passionate about what they do. Loved everything!
Amazing good, great service. Only downside is portions for entrees are too small. Tiramisu has way too much alcohol but other than that the food was incredible, will repeat.
My wife and I went to Hamdi for our anniversary and it was great. Both the food and the service were phenomenal. The restaurant is a bit pricey but the quality is definitely worth the money you spend. My favorites were: the celery appetizer (Kereviz), the lamb medallion (Kuzu), and also The Kebap. We got to try some traditional Turkish food with modern interpretation which was interesting and fun. I would recommend Hamdi for anyone who wants to have a memorable and interesting food experience. It’s the best Turkish restaurant I’ve been to in the U.S.
Incredible food!! Would highly recommend the Turk-bone steak that is cooked over a wood/charcoal fire. A little smokiness and cooked to perfection. All of their dishes we had were absolutely insane. I especially loved their ali nazik and cig kofte starters too. The kebap, their signature dish, is a must try as well. Highly recommend.
I can’t believe this place has a 4.5 rating. I’ve been to Hamdi 4 times and each time has been equally and consistently incredible. Their modern take on classic Turkish dishes always have the perfect proportion of savory, tart, sweet, with a mixture of textures. There is never one flavor that overpowers the others. These chefs have mastered the art of perfectly balancing flavors. The presentation is delicate and elegant. The atmosphere is cozy, moody but still inviting, with again the modern taste of Turkish culture. I love the candles and cascading plants. This is easily the best restaurant I’ve been to in Seattle and is one of the best restaurants I’ve been to, period. Some of these negative reviews are baffling — their food is all cooked on charcoal, indoors, in a sleek open kitchen, which is a delicate art in of itself. If you don’t like grilled food aka with char then don’t go to a restaurant that exclusively cooks on charcoal. If you don’t like Mediterranean flavors like tahini then don’t order a dish with tahini. Every time I’ve been here all customers around me look satisfied and excited to be there. Perhaps the negative reviewers just don’t get what they are doing here. If you go with an open mind, prepare for an elevated experience.
Hamdi is a welcome addition to the Seattle food scene! It's fresh, flavorful, creative, and melts any Seattle Freeze in the area. We enjoyed the entire experience from the warm welcome when we walked in to the absolutely fantastic service from Alex, and we definitely loved every flavor on our plates (and in our glasses) throughout the meal. Chef Guldal's passion and creativity shine through each dish. I honestly can't say the name of each dish, but I loved the flavors and textures of each one. We started with a roasted beet salad that we spread on freshly toasted bread and a chickpea & sun-dried tomato salad (not pictured yet- it's on my husband's phone). Next, we enjoyed a roasted eggplant & pickled onion dish that was on toasted bread base with a warm egg yolk topping. The roasted cauliflower was highly recommended and we now echo that recommendation. It's a delicious take on a popular appetizer, that allows the flavors of the spices used to come through. The main dish gave us both chills. Previously living in Miami, FL, we are fans of pork belly. But after trying Hamdi's lamb belly dish, we think we found the next level of flavor! If you eat meat, you MUST try it! And to wrap it all up, dessert was just the right balance of crisp & sweet. We did look around at other dishes our neighbors were trying at nearby tables. Everything was plated beautifully and looked delicious! All the plates going back to the kitchen were empty, so that says something. We really did enjoy the entire experience and look forward to future visits to try more. The ambiance is perfect. The service is welcoming. And the food is absolutely fantastic. While we did walk in on a Wednesday for a two-top, I recommend making a reservation. Parking is street parking and you might need to walk a bit, so go early. It's absolutely worth it!!!
We booked a private event for 8 people. We were seated in the private outdoor shed area with a spacious large table and bench seating. They provided blankets and the room was well-heated, so the blankets weren't even after all. The food was excellent! The dishes beautiful on the palette and to look at as well. The staff was friendly and the hostess was very helpful in organizing the event. All dietary needs were carefully looked after. The only thing I would suggest is maybe making the shed a bit more prettier. Maybe paint the walls and put up some decor. Other than that it was a lovely evening!
I don't know if I've ever had a food experience like this in Seattle. Everything was phenomenal and one cannot go wrong with any dish. One of the owners visited our table and offered advice on the menu. The cocktails and food were creative and flavorful. The portions can be a little small, so it's recommended to order a few dishes, which I didn't mind as it meant I was able to try much of the menu. My favorite dish was the kebap, which had some of the best preparation of lamb I've ever tasted. Many of the dishes can be modified to accommodate dietary needs. I highly recommend a reservation as even on a weeknight, the venue filled up quickly.
We come to Hamdi about once every 2-3 months, and not only is it our favorite restaurant in Seattle, but it is the best Turkish restaurant in the US. We even debate how many times we have had a kebap that tastes this good in Turkey. Every dish is delicious and thoughtfully planned, with ingredients sourced both locally and from Turkey. The owners and staff are incredibly warm and welcoming. I can’t recommend Hamdi enough.
Transported to a place I haven’t been, with flavor combos I haven’t experienced before. Fun, delicious, compelling, you can taste the live fire in every dish it touched. We had a great time, and everyone we interacted with was authentic, friendly, and helpful.
One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in my 10 years living in the city. The staff were friendly and welcoming, accompanied by a great atmosphere. But the food was IMMACULATE. Every dish was comprised of high quality ingredients and bursting with flavor. The chicken wings were my favorite but there wasn’t a single thing I disliked. One of the few fine dining places in the city worth the premium price tag. Note: Groups of 6 or more are required to do the chef’s tasting menu. Although a bit pricey, the experience is well worth it.
A spectacular night. It started when you arrive and smell the sweet wood smoke from the kitchen. Flavors were spectacular and complex in every dish. The service was top notch and the seeing the team create the meals from our table was amazing. We took the recommendations of the waiter and ordered several small plates and all were amazing. Look forward to coming back.
The service was incredibly attentive. We did the chefs tasting and had an incredible aged porterhouse 🤌🏽 there were 4 courses and dessert. The portions were appropriate. We had 8 people dinning and we were satisfied and full by the end. The lamb was beautifully smokey and tender. Definitely some of the best Turkish food I've had.
One of the finest restaurants in Seattle. Every single dish we tried was prepared with great attention and tasted amazing. Still my favorite is The Kebab. Update: we love Hamdi even more every time we visit. Their service immaculate, and the food is simply amazing.
Been to this restaurant 2x and the food was consistently amazing and the customer service is top notch. The owners are the chef and his partner, who are generous and very kind. They brought us complimentary champagne because we had to wait a little bit for our reservation. We didnt mind or notice the wait as we were sitting in the outside fully enclosed heated “lobby/lounge” having a good time. They also comped our bottle of wine when it wasn’t necessary but was appreciated and above and beyond. The food is fabulous top notch. The plates are family style and we loved tasting all the unique and beautifully combine Turkish flavors and traditional dishes. Not your typical Turkish restaurant and you won’t be disappointed! We loved the simple oil with pomegranate dipping sauce, the dough platter which I would describe similar to an open face fluffy calzone, and arugula salad and the mung bean dish. The menu rotates, looking forward to trying there next creations!
Hamdi is an absolute gem for the dining scene in Seattle, and should be considered as upscale fine-dining taking Turkish inspiration for its dishes. The service is top notch. I came with a friend so that we could have a quiet dining experience versus the usual boisterous (and fun) group outings. Coming in, we had no reservations, and the staff only asked if we could complete our meal within an hour. Certainly doable for two! When coming up to Hamdi, we thought it was closed, but I was certain it was actually opened. The windows are covered in one-way film/tint. Inside, unlike other restaurants in Seattle which favor bright colors and lots of exposure to light, was a more intimate space that was lit only by the cool table LEDs and the fire of the open-design kitchen. The dimmer lighting makes for a perfect date night location. Although it is billed as Turkish cuisine, it is definitely prepared as upscale dining, and with a price tag to boot. Although portion sizes are on the more petite scale, I did not leave unsatisfied. The stars of the dining experience was the appetizers: Kereviz (celery root, smoked yogurt, tahini, roasted dried figs, pine nuts, puffed quinoa, and brown butter) on toasted sourdough, the Karpuz (watermelon salad), and the Pide (turkish dough, parsnip puree, and cheese). The Kereviz on the toasted sourdough was such a good combination that we forgot that it came with olive oil. The Karpuz was interesting and definitely not a flavor combination that I would have anticipated with watermelon, cheese and sumac jam. The Pide was baked to perfection with the parsnip crisps on top with perfectly melted cheese. Throughout the meal, owner Katrina came over and checked on us and how we enjoyed our meal and asked to see what we were interested in. My friend dislikes nuts, and asked for them on the side so that they would not mix with the food. Hamdi's staff was more than happy to do so. The main focus of the restaurant would be to get a seat in front of the open kitchen which lets you see the entire kitchen operation. Although, if you want to be more focused on your dining companions, there are also tables. I was not expecting this dining experience when I randomly selected it from my list, and will make another visit again on my next trip to Seattle.
We recently went to Hamdi and from our initial interactions with the staff all the way to the dessert, it was a wonderful experience. The food was so good and this was one of the best steaks I’ve ever eaten. Perfectly seasoned and cooked to a medium rare. We’ll definitely be back!
My favorite restaurant in Seattle. It’s hard to find a restaurant in Seattle with amazing cocktails, food and vibe and Hamdi has all three. Loved the Ayder and Bebek cocktails. Everything was delicious but the pide, kebap, and sutlac were my favorite. I can’t wait to visit again!
I went to a pop-up hosted at Hamdi and had a wonderful time with some friends. Melih made the best lahmacun and tantuni - I wish I had a chance to try his other dishes! Great space, great company, exceptional food. Looking forward to the next pop-up.
Was looking for something unique to close out my first visit to Seattle. Grabbed an early reservation and was not disappointed. The food and drink were delicious and had me smiling after each course: Starter: Pide Main: Turk-Bone Dessert: Sutlac Beverage: Bebek The open kitchen allows you to watch the preparation in real-time. (This might sound corny, but having recently watched the show The Bear, I enjoyed this part of the experience immensely.) The row of counter seating is your choice if that appeals to you, otherwise there are also tables and outdoor seating. Service was friendly and timely, with an explanation of the menu being helpful and providing recommendations if needed. 5/5 and would highly recommend! Thank you for a great experience!
It is rare to see Turkish cuisine represented with such a high level of refinement and care. We were particularly impressed by the Adana Kebap and the Kereviz, both of which were executed perfectly. Thank you to the entire team for maintaining such high standards and for offering a truly distinguished culinary experience.
We have dined at Hamdi twice and both times have been memorable. The food, atmosphere, and service are all excellent. The Turkish food is seriously good. It’s beautifully presented and it’s delicious. It works well for tables that want to share. The service is friendly, professional, attentive and competent. We had a guest who is severely allergic to eggs. The wait staff made sure we didn’t order anything with eggs. The unusual signature cocktails and the wine list are great too. Very highly recommended.
We had a fantastic dinner at Hamdi. The restaurant has the at atmosphere of a tavern you might find near the old market in Istanbul, smoke scented from the kitchen wood fires and with low, romantic lighting. Service is great and we really enjoyed the house cocktail as well as two wines from the wine list (a skin-contact Oregon white and a Turkish red, by the glass). Appetizers were excellent and innovative: dips centered on carrots in one case and celery root in the other, but then elaborated in really interesting ways. Our main courses were a dressed vegetarian dish centered on a baked potato and variation on kibbeh. This last dish was delicious but a bit too oily, and the garnish a little too heavy on red onion confit. Limited dessert options, but in any case we were pretty full. Highly recommended!
Great! They seated us somewhere else from our original seats and offered first drink on the house due to that. Food was great! Atmosphere too. Ordered vegan kofte, beetroot spiced juice, celery root dish, kebap and kumfir. All really good! My only qualm is they take time to serve the food
Our first dining experience at Hamdi, and it won’t be our last. Everything from the cozy interior to the outstanding and unique cocktails, to the amazing and deliciously curated menu was wonderful and thoughtful. The staff took care of us with a genuine warmth, and we’re looking forward to enjoying it all again soon!
Every starter we tried was amazing — the flavors were spot-on, and the chicken wings were so good we (1) asked if we could get takeouts, and (2) went home and immediately started looking up recipes. The entrées, however, were less exciting. Our steak was aged for 60 days — which server mentioned was longer than usual (maybe because they closed for July… just kidding) — but it tasted average and was overpriced at $172 for a 24oz porterhouse. Dessert was mostly cardamom, the tiramisu tasted like chewing on Chinese herbal medicine, which might not be for everyone.
3.5/5, overall tastes strong and I drunk 4 cups of water during the dinner. Mandatory 20% service fee at the end but I didn’t feel worth as we had nowhere to ask our questions about the menu for a couple of times. Salad is a bit too sour. Fish is good but singed and taste bitter. The lamb belly is good but the pancake under it is too oily, and that bowl of rice doesn’t add much surprise to the dish and taste a bit raw.
Waited 30 minutes even with a reservation. Our server wasn’t the most friendly. The flavors were pretty good. They forgot our main courses. We sat watching the kitchen clean up while they realized we didn’t get our main dishes. Felt uncomfortable ordering dessert because they were very much cleaning up the kitchen. Didn’t end up ordering dessert as we felt rushed out of there. They gave us a few free drinks because they knew the service was bad, and that we were celebrating our anniversary.
I made a reservation for the lamb roast course, but overall, I felt that the quality of the food and service did not match the price. The appetizers were varied, visually appealing, and delicious. However, they were not at the level of a $175 course (including service charge). The quality was comparable to that of an ordinary Turkish restaurant rather than a high-end establishment. The real issue was the main course and dessert. Despite the course being advertised as featuring a whole roasted lamb, what was actually served was rice topped with finely chopped lamb. There was a pool of oil at the bottom, and some tough, sinewy pieces were mixed in. Considering the price of the course, excess fat and sinew should have been removed. Moreover, it was hard to believe that this single dish was the entire main course for a lamb roast course. If there had been a plate with a substantial cut of meat, along with rice topped with the trimmed-off bits, it would have made sense. It was also disappointing that the plates were not replaced before the main course arrived, forcing us to eat the main dish on the same plates that had been dirtied by the appetizers. I was surprised by how small the dessert portion was—it was only enough for one person. Even more shocking was the fact that, despite the expectation that it would be shared between two people, no extra plates were provided. The restaurant was extremely noisy, with music blaring like in a nightclub. The atmosphere did not feel at all like that of a high-end establishment. Considering the quality of the food and service, a total price of $100, including service charges, would have been more reasonable.
I am sorry to leave a bad review because I can see how this restaurant could be managed better but the treatment we received last night was unacceptable. Unfortunately we keep hearing different bad experiences from different people, indicating serious management problems. It would not be fair to say anything bad about the food because everything was fairly delicious (which we could have enjoyed better had we received a better treatment). The portions are small and expensive but that's not a surprise for a place that claims to be a fine dining place. However, how can you be a fine dining place if you treat your customers disrespectfully and rude? We had a reservation for 5 people but in last minute we had one more person who wanted to join us. They have this weird policy of more expensive set menu for 6 people, which we were not interested for; but fortunately, a couple of hours before our reservation, we could book a table for 2, just 30 minutes after our reservation time. We were not being dishonest and at the door we told them that we were expecting someone else for our second reservation and when that person comes in 30 minutes, one of us would join to that person at another table. We were told that it is fine, so we sat down, ordered some food and drinks to start with. When our last person arrived, the owner showed us her ugly face and told us that we were being disrespectful by intentionally not following their policy. I told them that we booked a second table because we had vegetarian friends who did not want to opt for set menu including all the meat products, but she roasted us like a highschool principal, and did not give us the second table that we had booked. This was a shame because 1) you lost a customer on the spot, 2) we didn't order more food and drinks because we felt bad after this treatment 3) you lost a bunch of future customers. I respect your efforts to serve excellent food, but you need customers, you can't treat customers so rude. There are various ways to accommodate customers. Showing an angry face and accusing us for being disrespectful for a miniscule thing should be your last option. Your behavior is being disrespectful to customers.
