First time here Sal's, I ordered the 2 entree combination plate with a chili relleno and a shredded beef enchilada. Food was delicious and my waitress never let my drink get less than half empty which was a big PLUS for me! Food was reasonably priced and service was great! Good job Sal's, I will definitely be back.

This family owned restaurant has been in our community since the 1940's. Everything and everyone is great. You won't leave hungry that's for sure.

I ordered Sal's Fancy Burrito. Very good portion, super flavorful, and very hot (temperature-wise). The staff there were very polite and checked on my party frequently. The salsa and chips were tasty too. I will be going there anytime I am in that area.

All of the staff here were so accommodating to put party of 30 for my friends 30th Surprise party, even playing the look out so we knew when to quiet down. My date and I showed up on a Wed at 6:30 and they told us it was going to be a 45 min wait so we went somewhere else. I should have made a reservation because it looked like they were having birthday parties when we walked in. Again, I should have made a reservation but I know how popular this restaurant is and I will have to come back and make a reservation. The food smelled amazing. I didn't want to do a full evaluation because I made the mistake of not making a reservation. I didn't want to bring down their numbers either.

I had the Sal's combo! Delicous food, supurb customer service, refill were on point. Great family atmosphere and they even have security watching your vehicles! It is a no Brainer why your still number one! Hot chips and spicy salsa the way it suppose to be. My moms been eating there 1967!

Took my family here for Mother's Day and was not disappointed. It was packed, but we were still seated fairly quickly. The food came out within 10 - 15 minutes of us ordering and was delicious. They even had live music to make Mother's Day even more amazing. Thank yiu for the great food and service. Will be back for menudo.

Karls burrito is still King, even at $22 it's enough food for 2 people or if you are a hungry hombre you can take it down. Chips and salsa are amazing and they are very generous with the salsa.

We stopped in Selma to eat here and were super happy we did. The service was excellent, we had several waiters/waitresses checking on us throughout our visit. Combination plates are around 10 ,11 and 12 dollars, for 1, 2 and 3 items with rice and beans. .this was the cheesiest tacos and enchiladas we had ever eaten and the chips and salsa was replenished immediately. Excellent food and great service.

We went here for Father's Day Lunch, and we were not disappointed. The entire wait staff is amazing. They all help one another, your drinks don't run dry, the chips are fresh, salsa is very good, and the food is as Delicious as I remember when I was a teenager many moons ago! Family-owned atmosphere all around, even after all these years. A true gem in Selma. Their shrimp cocktail, scooped with tortilla chips, is my Go-To in hot months. (What; there are cold months?😅) Husband loves the chili relleno, adds chorizo. It's all delicious.

It's a great Mexican restaurant, with plenty to choose from. This place has been in business for many years and that should tell you it is a great place to eat.

I live out of town and only really venture to the area a few times a year at most. Whenever my family come up we stop at Sal's. We originally found it from the glowing reviews! The food is delicious, and the portions are generous! Be sure to come hungry and be prepared for leftovers. The restaurant is clean, the staff is friendly and on top of making sure your drinks are full. I would definitely recommend this place!

This place has been here a long time. And there's a reason for that. It's in a older ( Westside of freeway ) neighborhood of Selma.Ca. The food is very good. They bring you tortilla chips with the best red salsa before you order. The atmosphere is okay. Lots of tables that are normally filled with happy people. Enjoying there meals. If you haven't tried it here. Try it ! I think if you do you'll be back. :)

My husband has been coming here for decades, he brought me in a couple years back. Every trip through the valley we stop in, and the service and food is always impeccable. The fancy burrito is a household favorite along with the Chile Verde plate. I recommend it to all my friends and family in the valley or traveling through. It is worth the 8 hour drive for us!

Visited for the first time, walking up to the establishment , we noticed a sign with the specials (menudo)👀. As soon as we entered we were greeted & shown to our table, no wait at all. Took a glance at the menu & placed our order. The food was served relatively fast & we went to work. Very satisfied with the entire staff, great atmosphere & our menudo🍲 was okay. Although we live in Fresno, when we want to eat at Sal's, we drive to the Selma location because we think the food there is much better. The food at Sal's is reasonably priced and delicious. My wife and I usually order the Chimichanga dinner with shredded beef. The meat is moist and flavorful. It is consistently delicious, and the portion size is good. We usually only eat half and bring the other half home to enjoy. Our daughter orders the carne asada which she loves. She is a picky eater, too. Service is welcoming and friendly. Always enjoy going there. They know what they are doing. There is a reason why they have been in business for over 80 years!

It was my first time here. Party of 3. We were greeted so sincerely. We were seated, we received chips and salsa, our drinks were brought to the table. Our drinks were always full. All the hostesses were on it every second of our visit. The place was packed. Did not expect the professionalism we were given. We spoke to the manager Lydia to commend her on an amazing visit and a crew that was kind in every scene of the way. We were made to feel like were at home being catered to. Food was amazing. 2 orders of enchiladas suizas and an order of chicken flautas. Yummy. And the walls had these beautiful hand paintings telling the story of how corn tortillas are made. Breathtaking in it's own way. Tradition is part of our culture. And it was stated in such a lovely way. So go and enjoy and I hope you get the most amazing service as we did. Thank you again.

Sal's is a great place to get very good Mexican food. I personally recommend the Jame's Special, which comes with either red or green sauce. The staff is always friendly, and ready to drop off more chips to use with their great salsa. They're always busy for a reason, and it can be hard to find good parking since they're so popular.

We love Sal's and they have very good food and service. The only thing I wish they would do is season the chips and have a mild salsa to offer those who cannot eat the very hot salsa they serve other than that this place has really good food. If you have not eaten here before please give it a try.

The food was amazing! So good! I had the Sal's Original Combination which included a taco, a chile relleno, and an enchilada, with beans, rice, and chips and salsa of course. The service was decent. The only thing was that I asked for a cheese enchilda and I got served a ground beef enchilada. It was crazy busy so I did not say anything. It would have been a 5 star experience if it wasn't for that. I would however recommend this restaurant any anytime.

Food is good, it is perhaps my favorite Mexican food in Selma, the waiting time for lunch can be a bit much depending on the time you come in. The location is a bit hard to get to with many turns and it looks like the back of a residential area. Parking can be difficult sometimes but you can always park in the streets and walk to it, booths are comfortable, regular tables not so much, but outside of that, good food and good service, enough to make me want to come back. For lunch go in early as early as you can, 11am seems to be a good time, less crowded.

The chips and salsa were amazing. Food is great except for the shrimp cocktail. Unless you like a bowl full of ketchup tiny cut cucumbers and tiny slices of avocado... There was no cilantro or any other flavors. I was a bit disappointed because I expected more authentic flavor. The service was great and they took care of us very well.

We used to love them but things have changed of course. I will not pay $22.00 for a Steve Burger! Check your “to-go” orders carefully before leaving. When they are busy they tend to forget part of the orders or give you something you didn’t order. Also rice & bean portions got way smaller on “to-go” orders. Ya priced me out Sal, no mas.

When coming here at around three in the afternoon on a sunday, it was pretty busy, but for a table of three, it was a twenty to thirty-five minute wait. The service and the staff are really friendly. Definitely, love that. The food is all right. It's neither the best nor the worst. The only thing that I have to say is that it's not a hundred percent authentic. If it helps to understand better, there is a big majority of white people that come in. Again, the food is all right. Staff is great, nor the worst, and not the best.

Just okay... I have heard great things about Sal's for years and I finally had the chance to go for an early dinner. They were packed, so people definitely enjoy the restaurant, but it's definitely not my favorite. They have great salsa and guac, but there chips leave something to be desired and they were out of quite a few things. Service was so-so. Overall not a bad experience, just not great. I have had better Mexican from many other restaurants in the Valley.

Meatball soup was not spicy, it had long green onions, no potatoes no zucchini, enough rice, not sure if meatball was ground chicken, it looked pale, could not be beef. Waitress forgot to order child's plate and the chimichanga burrito was also ordered incorrectly by waitresses. I will stick to fresno location.

I live in LA and come to Selma, Caruthers and Fresno for business about 1 week of every month. By LA standards, what they serve on plates here would not qualify as food. If the chef came out from the kitchen and turned out to be a black guy or white guy, I would have said, "ah, now it all makes sense." With that said, I have tried 2 other Mexican restaurants in the Central Valley, and the only decent Mexican food I've had in Selma, Fowler and Caruthers is the street food--admittedly, I have not tried Fresno yet. I'm still scratching my head how such a Mexican dense community can have such horrific Mexican food. Then again, I had one of the worst meals I've ever had at a $2,000/night hotel in Playa Del Carmen, so I suppose one can never underestimate human failure.

First time eating here. Recommend by a friend. We were seated immediately and had our drinks and food order taken. Food was really good. I had the chile colorado with rice and beans. My wife had the chimiganga. Well done!

So much hype about this place and it was just ok. I had the carnitas my wife had The enchiladas and my son ordered all the flautas. The flautas were literally just giant taquitos…. The food was good but not great by any means. I’d eat here again but now I know what to expect. Since I’ve moved from LA to Fresno I haven’t had any great Mexican food. I ordered menudo and there was no meat in my bowl. It was a terrible meal. My wife order the cocido and she liked it a lot.

Called spoke to a Mia very rude and unprofessional decided wont be ordering from here again and will tell others spoke to the Gm and that didn't help any all he did was justify for her and said he will investigate ! I would give it a -0 if could

I ordered the chicken quesadilla and it had a mixture of chicken inside. Dark meat some white meat and some shredded looking chicken. The shredded chicken tasted just like canned Chicken that left a metal taste in your mouth. It was gross and I couldn’t even finish it. Also the $9 margarita is not worth it. The glass is so small for the price. This restaurant needs to do better with the praise it gives itself. I’m never going back. One and done.

I ordered the famous burrito and my husband ordered the enchiladas taco plate. Both meals were drowning in alot of sauce and Cheese. Very little protein in the meal in my opinion. I don't count sauce or liquid as food. If there was more protein or meat it would have been fine to put so much sauce and Cheese in food. Also we were overcharged. My husband asked the server how much avocado on the side would be she said 1.50. When we got our tap we saw they charged us 3 dollars mind you it was ridiculous amount of avocado like maybe 2 slices avocado. Be careful servers might try to sell you more from menu. Or rip you off for $$ different ways. We ended up spending 36$ for 2 plates 2 soft drinks and 2 slices of avocado. I would spend that money somewhere else.

Ordered several party platters, one in particular was the mixed appetizers. They come with 4 types of appetizers but heads up the chimichangas don’t come with meat like traditional ones they come with beans only. This wasn’t described anywhere on the menu. After a call the next day to ask why, we were offered a partial refund in the form of a gift card. Didn’t receive so called again the next week, I was told that they’d check with their business office and get that out. Another few weeks later still no gift card. I called again and was told to call later to speak with the first person I talked to. My one star is mainly do to the hassle of calling and recalling. I already was inconvenienced, disappointed, and was not pleased with most of that tray. The regular burritos were soggy and there were very few taquitos so we actually ended up throwing away 75% of the tray. I think good business is you say your going to do something you do it. Take care of a customer and you keep a customer. I wasn’t going to write a review but at this point I’m extremely not satisfied with service as well as the food.

This morning Dec 6th about 1130am we stopped by Sals to have breakfast. When we walked let hostess know we had a party of 4. She was going to sit us in the patio which in turn we asked if we could sit inside the main dinning area. The hostess seemed annoyed buy the request and did turn around. She dropped the menus off at a table and just pointed to it like there..happy. There were so many tables and booths open but the hostess rudeness we just not ok. We went to Selma from out of town to enjoy breakfast. We decided to leave and take our money and children elsewhere. Tired of crappy customers service
