Opiniones de Basque Boulangerie Sonoma
Very nice experience on both mornings, love the fresh croissants. Pistachio cheesecake is good. Photo is egg bacon panini, also glad I try their cheese stick. It's the only one shop spell my name correctly!
Great pastries and good coffee. Pretty and cozy inside. Staff doesn't seem happy to be there and it shows in their customer service. Not rude, but resentment is palpable. Never sure where to put used dishes. But all that said, it is a great place to go for a pastry and coffee or tea, which by the way is made from loose tea leaves which they bag themselves. Great touch!
Great coffee selections (Mocha, Flat White, Cortado, Latte, etc) and their morning glory bun and almond croissant. Plenty seating inside and out overlooking the plaza. Dogs friendly. Takes credit card and Tip in cash only
Basque Boulangerie Café has an indoor cafe that sells a selection of baked goods, cafe items, and drinks. My madame sandwich was really quite good. The cheese on it was slightly sharp, but mostly subtle and very melty. I thought it was a great sandwich. The croissant wasn’t that great. It tasted like a grocery store croissant, so I don’t know if they actually make them in house.
Excellent bakery with friendly workers. Many desserts like cakes and cookies and croissants. The beehive cake is my favorite but today I got the cheesecake. The princess cake looks amazing which I'll get next time. A patron said it's great and showed me the inside was jam and marzipan. Each cake is around $5 per slice. The cookies are around $1 and the other items aren't much more. The sandwiches are tasty too at around $8-$10. Totally worth stopping by every time you're in Sonoma!
Stopped by Basque Boulangerie Cafe in Sonoma and I was impressed. The peanut butter banana toast was spot on – just the right mix of creamy peanut butter and fresh bananas with smoky crispy bacon. The avocado toast was perfectly seasoned and a real testament to how good simple food can be. The vanilla latte was smooth and had a solid hint of vanilla without being overpowering. The dirty chai latte has the kick you need, blending those bold chai flavors with a strong espresso punch. If you're in the area, you've got to check this place out.

This place is great! We traveled great distance (Arkansas) to try this place. We have heard about the bread! It was so fresh and tasty!
My friend Frank brought me some french bread from this place, it was what real yummy sour dough bread should taste like! Not like the generic bread they sell at the grocery store. I am going to see what other yummy bread they have and go pick some up myself. I highly recommend!
What a wonderful spot! My sister and I happened in to pick up some bread. The pastries were just too good to resist! Then we found the pies! Fresh baked with the flakiest crust! The morning bun was so good I actually drove 30 minutes back a few days later just to have another! I had the egg cheese and ham croissant and it was absolutely divine! So many options on the menu I think this will be a regular spot for me!
What a gem!! I took my mother out for lunch and we came across this boulangerie. I had the avocado/egg/tomato toast($9.00) and it was so fresh and delicious. Mama had the prosciutto & Brie with pear, ($12.00) warmed awww amazing. The price and service are incredible. If you around visiting Sonoma I highly recommend you to enjoy a meal at this place.
Casual bakery . Has delicious pastries. Excellent service. Chia bowl is a great vegan option if you leave the honey out.

Very friendly staff. This was our first time. They were so kind that we feel like we have a friend in Sonoma now. They do have discounted bread at the end of the day.

Excellent pastries and coffee. We've also had tasty sandwiches. Less pretentious and lower priced than many places in Sonoma. Loaves of bread are good, and a bargain if you're there late in the day. Staff is courteous and professional, even when the place is jammed. Recommend.
I just found out this Cafe has been Sold! It's no longer Owned by the Original Family. I was very Disappointed that My Order of Clam Chowder To Go Cup was Cold! The Presentation was very good. It did come with Delicious Sour Dough Toast. My only "Disappointment" was the Clam Chowder was "Not Hot!" Perhaps more Training on how long to "Reheat Soup." I wanted to Walk over to the lovely Park and Eat. I decided to Sit Inside. Next time I will Order the Wonderful Baked Goods! 👍
Grabbed breakfast here on our last day in Sonoma. Cute place. Very good coffee. We enjoyed the pastry and the oatmeal. Certainly not inexpensive though, so be ready for some sticker shock. We visited in February so too cold to sit outside... I imagine that would be pleasant on a nice day.
Stopped here twice for a breakfast. The staff were very kind and engaging. The food was great. I got a breakfast sandwich and then the oats along with LOTS of pastries for the road. Big fan. Fast and easy spot to drop in for a good breakfast and good cup of coffee (or latte).
My husband and I stopped here to grab a snack before heading to a winery on a Friday morning. The menu was pretty large and had a lot of pastries as well as drink options. I got some tea and we shared a huge cinnamon roll. The tea was reasonably priced and the pastey was a bit on the higher side, but still a nice visit and good place to sit outside.
Pet Friendly outside only 🐾🐶 Very local place with great bread, you can individualize every option of food containing bread: grains, white, sourdough, etc. You have to order first and then sit. Very good option that opens early

I have not been to this bakery in many years and was happy to return today. It’s a latte ordered was quite adequate and the beehive cake. My friend and I shared was phenomenal. Service was friendly and there are plenty of spots to sit.

I wanted to like this place, but the food was just underwhelming and bland. The lemon blueberry scone was very dry and had very little flavor. My ham quiche had almost no ham in it, mostly onion, and was a bit rubbery and lacking flavor. The crust was tough on the bottom and the crimped edges were hard as a rock. The steel cut oats were just okay. My group also ordered scrambled eggs and they tasted like hotel, industrial eggs. Most likely poured from a carton. The atmosphere inside is pretty nice, but very echoey and loud. There are tables inside, as well as outside on the sidewalk. The two employees inside were not unfriendly, but they did not make us feel welcome when we entered the cafe. This is counter service only. Overall a disappointing food experience.

I’m local and we often get bread there. Which is all right. But then we ordered something different, to go: ham and cheese quiche that comes with a portion of fruits. First it took forever for then to give us the order, there was no one in front of us, and then what they do? Pack the quiche and the fruits in the same box, when I opened later, it was disgusting. All the juice from the fruits destroyed the rest. Very unpleasant, very unhappy.

If I could give zero stars I would. My friends and I were excited to all get cheese sticks from Basque and while we were walking up to the door, one of the workers from the inside practically runs to the door. We all thought she was being sweet and opening the door for us, but that was not the case. She very aggressively pushes the door out of my friends hand and flips the ‘open’ sign over to ‘closed’. She then shuts the door in our faces and walked away. Not to mention there were several people enjoying meals outside and inside. Even though the restaurant was closing, there was a much nicer way to handle this just by simply saying “sorry we are closed”. Other customers also noticed this interaction and they also commented on how rude it was.

My husband and I had been coming to Basque Boulangerie for almost 20 years. It was always a routine stop to get fresh bread on our way to Point Reyes. We haven’t been there since Covid, and unfortunately, management changed in 2020. This last Sunday, we were sold day-old, stale rolls as “freshly baked”, which we did not discover until we were already at Pt Reyes North Beach for lunch. I’m a sourdough bread baker myself, what they sold us was NOT fresh but definitely leftovers from Saturday. We also bought a frittata, but it was bland and rubbery. We will never be going back after getting ripped off with the bread. So disappointed! If you’re looking for fresh bread on your way to Point Reyes, you’re better off buying an artisanal loaf at Petaluma Market instead.
Went in for the first time today and was very disappointed. I ordered the veggie quiche and a blueberry scone. The quiche dough was not cooked all the way through so it was rubbery not flaky, the filling was crumbly, not creamy and was rather bland. The scone was dry and did not taste freshly made. My friend’s latte came out warm, not hot. And my total for just the quiche and scone was $19, which was shocking, but even more so after I tasted the poor quality. When I went to show the server the raw dough, I also pointed out to them there was a fly in their Pastry case. They did not offer anything, no exchange, no apology, not in a rude way, but I think the server did not know what to say. It also does not make any sense why they claim to be “Basque,” as that is not culturally reflected in the menu to my knowledge.
