Preguntas frecuentes sobre Cafetería La Esquina
Opiniones de Cafetería La Esquina Sopo
The matcha latte I ordered was not very sweet, which is good. It means they brew the matcha and it's not a matcha mix like the stuff they use at Starbucks. They have a good selection of teas, all proprietary blends. There's ample seating, free wifi, and the music isn't too loud. I'd definitely go back.
What a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Gigi, Mike, and Gary are fantastic. The rest of the staff is incredibly helpful, too. A wide variety of fresh desserts brought in every day from Martha's Country Bakery in FH. Decent breakfast sandwiches. The coffee (choice of light or dark roast) is great. Excellent tea selection, too.
Hadn't been here in a while but pleasantly surprised to see fuller menu, a full service kitchen, and a beautiful clean semi-enclosed outdoor seating . Healthy green omelette spectacular as is there always fresh coffee. Well done Ateaz.
So happy I found this place. The people are great. The space is welcoming. The pastries are bomb. The tea selection is top shelf. The coffee I had was just right. A gem. No pics because I ate them that fast.
A marvellous place for a relaxing coffee and pastry, just round the corner from the apartment, where we're staying. We had organic decaffeinated lattes and very fresh and interesting cheese danishes, which were delicious. The staff are friendly and courteous. I highly recommend a visit.
I had been wanting to try this place for a long time and I finally did and it was great. Their coffee is excellent, regular brew, I have to try their espresso to see further. They also had a great selection of loose leaf tea to take home. Will definitely be stopping by many times now.
In regards to the comment below, i believe that review is very one sided. I witnessed. The establishment was extremely busy at the time the order was place. The cashier explained to the customer that there will be wait a time. The customer continued to escalate and be rude to all the employees who were working hard in delivering services to the customers. The employees were actually very patient with the customer while attending to the busy floor. Ive been coming here for months, food is great and service is great.
Nice atmosphere! The service is quick and the employees are very friendly. The coffee is amazing and there are a wide variety of teas. I use to go to starbucks for coffee and to get assignments done, but this place is far better.
The smash toast is delicious. The toast is generously topped with avocado and surprisingly the pomegranate was one of my favorite parts ! I got a lavender latte. There is a variety of plant based milks to choose from. The customer service is kind and accommodating 💓
My all time favourite place to have breakfast or to get work done. The service is amazing even though the menu is limited the staff listens to your dietary needs very carefully. The staff is well coordinated and well trained. Very warm and welcoming place.
Located in the picturesque Kew Gardens, this delightful spot impressed me with its delicious veggie burger, savory tomato soup, and refreshing rooibos mint tea. I'm looking forward to going back to try their sweet treats and desserts, which are reputedly sourced from Martha's Country Bakery.
I would post a picture of the Nutella french toast and the mocha I ordered but they were too good and I forgot to take one. Food - Great. Coffee - Tasty. Vibes - Immaculate.
First time experience was wonderful with my friend. Loved the environment and caramel macchiatos. Perfect for work/study sessions. Customer service is excellent, especially from the one Asian girl at the front. She provided a welcoming atmosphere and guidance through what I believe to be a confusing menu. Will be coming back soon!
My partner and I have become regulars here. Not a crazy fan of the food options but coffee is really good. The vibes are nice as well, you can show up anytime and post up to do some work. Really vibe with some of the workers and appreciate their time and effort. Thank you Ateaz team for serving the community!
Had the tandoori panini So freaking good and I love the chill vibes here. Had a green tea lemonade too and was fresh and citrus. Will comeback
Their pistachio vanilla matcha is to die for, highly recommended. Also love the specialty summer drinks. 10/10
I love this cozy spot and their matcha which is superb quality. I like atmosphere here and definitely feels like a community local spot.
Great place and awesome tea. The environment and staff are welcoming. It's pricey so avoid if you're not looking to spend 30% more for the same drink, dessert or snack. Worth it to not have to go to Austin Street and stay out of Starbucks
Incredibly friendly staff with the brightest smiles and a genuine concern for all of their customers. As an individual who comes here often, I have never failed to feel right at home at this fabulous establishment. It is not only a comforting environment with spectacular ambiance but it also serves a delicious assortment of beverages as well as delectable treats for those with a sweet tooth. For days when decisions are a tad more difficult to make, the staff will very patiently and enthusiastically recommend a favorite of theirs. Additionally, for those naturally inquisitive folks, Gary will satisfy your curiosity by informing you of the health benefits of the various tea blends. And for those with a particular favorite beverage, your regular will be committed to memory leaving you feeling like a very special human being. This is the perfect spot to do work whilst enjoying the bright sunlight, spiffy humans, and overall aesthetic. You won't regret incorporating this place as your second home, or merely stopping by for an unbeatable refreshment! There is absolutely no coffee shop like this one.
My new go to place! Love all the food options. Their mango smoothie is amazing but it all depends on who makes it. Got it twice in one day and the second time it tasted completely different and was not as good as before
Amazing food, Best coffee and Fabulous Service.!!! Loved the ambience of this wonderful cafe. Highly recommended.!!
Love this coffee and tea shop! It's local and a great healthy alternative to franchises you can find on street corners. They offer a variety of teas and coffees and even have personal canisters available for purchase. Don't hesitate to stop by! There's comfortable seating including high stools in the front of the shop, a comfy couch in the back by the register, and tables. Additionally, they offer free wifi to customers. It's the perfect place to bring a laptop and catch up on work or read a book while you sip fresh tea or coffee. I love the atmosphere of this place as well.
Everytime I order coffee here and ask to write something in it they always provide and make it cute 🥰 love the coffees most especially the sugar free vanilla! ✨
Went today, absolutely amazing drinks. I had to go again for take out. A girl in glasses made my matcha and it was very good. 10/10 must try again.
Everything is great, food, atmosphere, and it's a relaxed place. However, their music is often way too loud and the music choice does make hard to focus if you're coming there to work, or even just chat with a friend. I would recommend having a calmer music choice rather than loud pop music, or at least just lowering the volume a bit. Otherwise, all else is great.
Cutest little coffee shop with amazing baristas!! Catalina was so welcoming and helpful! When I had no idea what to order she quickly stepped in and gave me some very personalized suggestions she was the sweetest! Definitely coming back!
I had the smashed avocado toast with salmon and found tasty bursts of sweet and crunchy pomegranate seeds between savory smoked salmon and perfectly creamy avocado. I would come here so much if I lived nearer! The gingerbread latte was also perfectly made, not too sweet and full of flavor!
I order a Avocado toast for breakfast was fantastic but very pricey.
This is everything you want in a local coffee shop. First, of course, the basic brew is solid and consistent. I think their iced coffee is pretty good, and though I'm not a fan of tea I appreciate the large selection. I have yet to try the espresso docks but that's really not my thing anyway. More important for me, the comes off sweets is the best around for any cafe, trust me. Cookies and probably other items are from the very popular local chain Martha's Country Bakery. I have always had friendly service at the counter. Again I've never needed a fancy drink made for me, but I'm totally happy with the person-to-person. Lovely layout and furniture. Perfect level of some customers but with space always available. Varied seating options, from areas near the large sunny south-facing window to smaller areas farther away, high stools and chairs. Pickup a drink and a cookie and have a walk to Forest Park just a block away!
Relaxed comfortable atmosphere where you can stay as long or as little as you want. We enjoyed our coffees. The warm temperature inside was a welcome break from the chilly rain outside. Staff was friendly. Place was clean. Photo is of one of the three "living pictures" on the wall.
Great place to work from, read a book or just relax! Staff is nice and place is clean and maintained. I first came across this place about three years ago and had their hot chocolate (it was good only that time but later on they messed it up few times). They have decent brunch/lunch options and a relatively large selection of beverages to choose from. Overall, it's a great place in the neighborhood to hang out or get a beverage on your way back from the walk if you were in the park nearby. Highly recommend .
This is the BEST coffee shop in Kew Gardens and deserves the highest rating. Chill, friendly staff, nice ambience, wide selection of chair, stool, and couch options and they make a mean brew of coffee. ☕️ Great spot to read, work, and chill. They don’t come up to you trying to make you buy something else or kick you out unlike some places around here and they’re open until 10 pm! 😀
Ateaz Coffee Shop is a hidden gem. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, perfect for unwinding or catching up with friends. The coffee is consistently excellent. It is rich, smooth, and full of flavor. Their food is just as impressive, with fresh and well-prepared options that go beyond typical café fare. What truly sets Ateaz apart is the service. The staff is kind, attentive, and genuinely cares about your experience. I always leave feeling better than when I walked in. I highly recommend it.
I’ve been going to ateaz for a while now and I love their limelight drink and double chocolate cookie. The only thing is it does take a while to get your drinks but I personally don’t mind. I live a little far but whenever I’m in the area I love to go here!!
Ateaz has really good food and coffee, there’s a great variety to choose from. Everything tastes fresh and flavorful. The staff is also very friendly and helpful, which makes the whole experience even better. It’s a nice place to relax and enjoy a good meal with your friends. The place is also very clean and well-kept, which adds to the pleasant atmosphere.
This coffee shop is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are incredibly friendly and always go the extra mile to make you feel at home. The interior is so cute and cozy, it’s the perfect place to relax, catch up with friends, or get some work done. The comfy seating and charming decor create such a pleasant environment. And of course, the coffee is fantastic! They have a great selection of drinks and treats, all made with high-quality ingredients. This is definitely my favorite coffee shop in town, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delightful experience.
First found this place on uber eats and I’ve ordered plenty of different teas, now I decided to come in person and it’s Nice! Calm place and nice to bring your laptop and enjoy food. It got pricey when I decided to treat myself but overall reasonable. All of the food I’ve had is good and fresh.
Ateaz is a great spot that has quickly become a favorite for me. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with a relaxed vibe perfect for hanging out or studying. The food menu is equally appealing, with light bites and pastries that complement the drinks well. The staff are super friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant experience. If you're looking for a cozy place to unwind or a quick stop for a delicious drink, Ateaz is the combination of quality beverages, tasty snacks, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a must-visit.
This has become my favorite place to take a break. The coffee is fantastic with a beautiful presentation. The staff is super sweet and gentle. This one is tough to write because I don’t want to give up my best kept secret spot. Well deserved and good fortune to this top notch establishment. Hats off to you.
It was my first time there and it was great! I ordered the chicken panini with air fries and they didn't fail me. The customer service was 10/10 and my order took 5 minutes, the food arrived hot, fresh and tasty. They have a wide variety of savory and sweet dishes on the menu suitable for various types of people, phenomenal! I'll be back soon😊
The coffee drinks are excellent. The food is overpriced. Baristas are very friendly and the service is great. The coffee shop attracts local families and WfH crowd. The covered entrance is great. Looks like a cafe in Paris.
If they had better coffee and finally have cold brew in stock, they would get 5 stars. The Wi-Fi is fast, seating also good. I love the chicken pesto moz sandwiches, and music is not too overwhelming. Please get strong cold brew! Please, please!!!
Just ordered a coffee & cappuccino. Very tight line by the counter because tables are right behind you. Incoming and outgoing traffic 🚦 wasn't cool when ppl are bumping into you. The coffee & cappuccino were one of the better tasting ones I've had.
Nice place, comfortable, friendly, helpful staff, great tea, great pastry. Very clean. My one downside is that they are extremely expensive. $7 for a single slice of cheesecake or a berry Napoleon is crazy talk. Once in a while it's a nice treat, but if they weren't so crazy expensive I'd be there far more often, and I've heard the same from everyone else I've talked to who's been there. Nice place, overly steep prices.
Keeping it real here. One of my go to cafes in the neighborhood. Glad to have this cafe walking distance from home since there isn't many around in the area that you can just do work in all day. Coffee and food is decent, price is aiight, ordering process is not bad, would keep coming here.
They have a wonderful variety of coffee and desserts, and the staff is friendly. There is seating available both indoors and outdoors. My only concern is that most indoor seats are occupied by people with laptops, and it would be helpful if the owner implemented a twenty-minute seating limit to accommodate other customers. If WiFi is offered, it might be a good idea to turn it off during peak times.
We used to love Ateaz, sadly the quality changed so much on their cakes and cookies. They now taste average or even cheap, no worth the price tag. Coffee it is still good! Would like to have back the outdoor tables and charming inside. Lately was soulless and messy.
Their sandwich/soups are good but not the drinks, drinks were too watery/full of ice. Also the male cashier with black curly hair is rude
Place: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Price: 6/10 Taste: 6/10 Cappuccino taste was more like water with milk. Prices were over the average. First experience in the place. I will give another try... First time paying $4.95 for an vegan oatmeal cookie. Need to review if this is the same in other places...😅
Coffee beans don't have a roast date. Staff shrugged and said "I don't know" when asked about it. Drip coffee is very watery and the taste mediocre. At over $4 I would have expected it to be rich, just like the price. You're better off going to Dunkin across the street for same quality coffee but at much better prices.
The service is terrible every time we come here, over the years and on several different instances and with different people. They don’t accommodate well, especially for kids. Very rigid ownership. Atmosphere is nice.
Cute little neighborhood spot. The cakes taste like they come from a very commercial food processing service - they tend to be very dense, old tasting and dry. Coffees are good. It's nice to have a place like this in the neighborhood, but the quality of the sweet items needs to drastically improve.
It’s a good place but they don’t keep their heater on in the winter time. Had to wear a full north face jacket inside and my hands were cold. Literally left early and asked other people. They were literally leaving because they were too cold. This happened every time I go there in the winter. It’s cold. I want to go there now but am not going because they are not going to have proper heating. This may be more of a summer/spring/fall type place. I’m probably not going to go again until the spring.
Walking in to this cafe, I had high expectations based on the reviews. My matcha latte was excellent - not too sweet - but the rest of the experience was underwhelming. I ordered the Veggie Mediterranean Sandwich ($16.25) which I felt was a bit expensive for a sandwich and fries but hoped the price reflected a quality sandwich. Unfortunately it did not. The sandwich is listed as being served on sourdough, which it definitely was not - could have been a slice of white bread from the grocery store next door for all I know. The sandwich was fairly tasty, but lacked any substance. The fries were pretty good. Though the food was somewhat tasty, I feel like I paid $16+ for a pile of carbs.
The place is very nice and people are nice but the cake slice was not it. It taste old and the frosting is crusty. For $9 a slice I expected better.
Very cute cafe! The decor was friendly and inviting which was nice. There was plenty of different food options if you are in the mood for a quick bite such a croissant or something like a salad or sandwhich. I got a croissant, a vegan oatmeal raisin cookie, and a matcha latte with oatmilk. It was all delicious. The price was about $14.00 which is a little pricey. However my partner got a coffee which he said was also delicious.
Coffee is tasty, they have cakes, gelato, a two dozens variety of teas. Looks like a good neighborhood cafe, with couches and communal high tables for workgroups. Would have given it 4 stars if the restroom is not pungently stinky, the dining area can be a bit duty as well but serviceable if you are not too picky.
If you’re a coffee lover you can skip this shop. Ordered two drinks and both taste burnt.. the cookie and croissant are very good so maybe the food is good but whats the point if the coffee is no good.
Was hoping this local cafe would be good but I’ve been a couple times and the espresso drinks just fall flat. The latte was majority milk and barely had any taste. The food was all ok at best, not worth the price imo. Tomato soup in particular also tasted very thin, no deep tomato flavor. Also ordered a lox bagel and the bagels do not do NY proud. Croissants seem like purchased from a mass distributor, do not taste fresh or crispy in any way. Interior/ambience/layout is cold and not exactly pleasant to sit or work in. Overall nothing here I would come back for, I hope they can improve the quality of their offerings.
A couple of years ago, it was a nice place to stop by. Things changed, however. This is a little note to the owner. You shouldn't stop serving coffee half an hour before closing time just because someone wants to get out from work at the exact time. You should not turn the lights off five minutes before closing time when customers are still inside. Rude customer service and attitude. None of my friends will come again and most of them are local area customers.
I honestly was looking for a good danish and being new to the area , although there is another bakery a block away I did go based on reviews I said let’s give this a try. I ordered a danish, lychee ice tea and a matcha latte . Let’s say the danish definitely stole the show. Huge, buttery, flaky and almonds were great 👍🏾 not so much on that cheese danish taste but was good. The lychee ice tea had nothing lychee about it and actually tasted more like a sweet tea the matcha latte was more on the frozen side but nothing special after letting it melt some was just like a regular ice matcha.
The food is overpriced for its quality. The “baristas” do not know how to make a proper latte and do not honor requests (ex. Extra ice, less milk). I was also surprised to find out that this business has reward points and the employees do not mention it to their customers. Such an overpriced place and they can’t even tell their customers about their reward points….
Ateaz is one of my favorite places to get coffee. Unfortunately the new barista has made my recent experiences there not so pleasant. The first time I came he was texting on his phone and would not look up to take my order until he was done texting. The second time I came I order medium coffees, but he made small coffees. I didn’t think twice and thought it was an honest mistake and just let him know that I ordered medium and would like it switched. He started arguing with me and I just left with my small coffees since I didn’t want to go back and forth.
After I got my stuff. The pastry to me was just gross, the place looks like a hipster threw up in it. The coffee tasted burnt and the manager was treating the workers so unprofessional. Like it seems to be one of the worst working environments these people could be working at. This place seriously sucks and needs to change. Only reason why I walked in was because I was in a rush and needed coffee. Sadly I regret even stepping foot in there. Never go to this place you’ll be very disappointed. Skip it and go to Starbucks or heck Dunkin’ Donuts. Those coffee places taste better than this one.
Cops came inside in uniform and they refused to let them use the bathroom. If you don't respect cops but you will call if you need their help this community won't support you. I will never again eat there.
Even before l moved to the neighborhood I used to visit this establishment. The cappuccino is my favorite. This morning was very busy and I was very disappointed. An older couple ordered a very simple breakfast and after waiting for approximately 15 minutes, the wife asked the cashier how long is the wait and she was told it’s going to be a while, she then explained her husband has an appointment and they don’t have much time. The insensitive cashier went on to tell them if you need fast food go to Dunkin Donuts. Long story short it wasn’t professional and a lot of customers spoke poorly of the cashier. Have you no consideration for older people and what’s up with your customer service.
I had the “açaí bowl.” It was straight trash. Açaí bowls are supposed to be DARK PURPLE. This was smoothie bowl disguised as açaí pumped up with fillers like banana, strawberry and almond milk to fluff it up and give it volume. Me s/o normally go this coffee shop but I don’t even want to give them my money anymore. Overall rating half star because of the false premise.
I was not a fan of this place. I tried to ask the gentleman at the register about one if their drinks and he came off very standoffish. Additionally, they forgot that I ordered food and ended up asking for a refund. They gave me hassle on that saying we can make it now. No sorry for the wait or forgetting. Also, they were much more pleasant, curtious, and talkative to customers that were very light in skin tone. Anyone that came in that was a dark skin tone seemed to not get the same treatment. No offense to the business but not worth the headache, hassle, disrespect, and inconvenience to want to do business here. I warn anyone else, traveling to NY and are darker in skin tone, SKIP this place at all costs.
Visiting and stopped in for breakfast. I know things are expensive in NY so I was expecting to see and taste chicken on this Tandoori Panini. Shame the ounce or two of small cubed chicken was pitiful..more greens than meat…$18 ? I will take this one off ‘Places to eat in Kew Gardens” Do better…and smile to your patrons…WHAT???
This place is very nasty. Cockroaches and mices. Should not be open with these circumstances.
Why accept Uber Eats orders after 6 pm if you’re going to close early. If you close at 7, that’s more than enough time to make a freakin sandwich and soup and include a cookie! Def lost a customer.
This cafe is among the nastiest I've ever eaten at. The owner is very cheap to the point he doesn't even pay to fix an obvious roach infestation. This roach crawled across my table WHILE I WAS EATING! Then fell to the floor before I recorded this video! Truly disgusting! I feel sorry for the workers there, they have a boss that only cares about his pockets over the customer's experience or health. No wonder they all leave!
