This is our go to Chinese restaurant. Great pork fried rice and General Tso's. My boyfriend likes the kung pao chicken. We have gotten take out and have also dined in. Friendly staff and quality food. It's a strong 4 stars but I give it an extra star for its close proximity!
I love it. Service is wonderful, staff is great and it's clean. Normally when the price is cheap I wonder if it's because of the food, service or cleanliness. None of those reasons. I am definitely coming back and reccomend this place.
Found this place after moving to the area. Food was good, they actually clean there shrimp which is a plus. The only thing is for the amount of food I ordered they needed to give me more soy sauce and sweet and sour sauce. Overall great food will order again.
We've ordered here a couple times, our food and service is always great! I got the General Tso's tofu and my sister got the Chicken Chow Mein dinner special. It was delicious, and the prices are all very reasonable. We will definitely be back and recommend this place for Asian food in the area
My new Favorite place for Asian food! The hunan combination fried rice and the lettuce wraps were delicious!! Our order was delivered hot and the lettuce wraps looked they were "picked fresh from the garden". I will definitely be ordering from Hunan Jade again!
I have been very satisfied with my first two experiences. Recipes are on point. Portion is good and delivery is fast. It has become my new go-to for Chinese delivery. Egg rolls and crab puffs are very good, this is always important, right?
Better than we'd expected and better than most chinese food we've had in years! Great value and the dishes were more fresh and authentic than the average North American Chinese food around. The restaurant had great service for delivery also. Impressed :)
Make sure you order ahead of time! Don’t let this hole in the wall restaurant fool you! They have a lot of take orders and for good reason! Their food is delicious! Pricing did go up a couple dollars for each item but that’s the world we live in now!
Love their combination rice (shrimp/pork/chicken) and crab puffs! They are always fast, food ready in under 15mins always. Been eating here for almost 3yrs, never disappointed. Highly recommend.
Found Hunan Jade while driving around looking for a place that was open late on a Saturday night. Got my food to go. The hostess took my order and it was out within minutes. Chicken fried rice was good and it was a generous portion. Shrimp with lobster sauce was a lighter sauce than I’m used to, but still very tasty and came with a dozen very large shrimp. Wonton soup was very good and the wontons appeared to be made in house. Food was definitely very Americanized Chinese but there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. It hit the spot!
My family and I love Hunan Jade. I always call in and pick up my order. The lady knows me by name now and is always very welcoming. They treat you like more than just money coming in, like a friend and it's nice. The food is incredible. I always choose a good chinese restaurant by the egg rolls, hasn't failed me yet. They are sooo good here and so is the rest of the menu. We get the combination lo mien and general tso chicken every time with some extras and I've never been disappointed. Cost is typical for chinese restaurants. Good people and good food. What more can you ask for? Go for it and you won't regret it!
Best Chinese in Woodlands. Five star. Best rice in Houston. "Ancient Chinese secret". Honestly, having lived in LA to Orlando this establishment is among the best.
This is the best Chinese food I’ve ever had! I just brought my friend here and she loved it too! ❤️❤️ Get the egg rolls if you come!
Quick service and great quality. I would definitely go here again. I got the Honey Walnut Shrimp and it was some of the best I've ever had. Very fresh, not too sweet, and the shrimps were pretty big.

Out of the many Chinese restaraunt's there are just within a 20 mile or so radius, Hunan Jade is by far the best! I place 2-3 orders a month. Always extra chicken and extra scrambled egg on my chicken fried rice. They offer a wide variety of entrees with pork, chicken, beef and seafood. I would suggest anyone that enjoys Chinese made American style, to try this hidden gem out. Worth it! Trust me!
Good food. Bourbon Chicken was a big portion and tastes amazing. Spicy Fried Rice was also equally as good!
I'd love to share pictures, but I've already eaten everything. The food is spectacular and the staff are extremely sweet. I hate to see mom and pops like this sitting empty because the big chains move in up the road. Definitely worth stopping in! The Mongolian beef is spectacular, the egg drop soup is great and the egg rolls are delicious. The sweet and sour shrimp is excellent, the shrimp lomein is delicious and the orange chicken is to die for. We'll be coming back regularly until we've tried the entire menu. You're doing yourself a disservice if you don't give this place a try!
Got it in DoorDash and it’s really amazing flavor and fresh chicken and the sauce even tastes home made surprised at the quality
Our food was fresh and cooked well - the veggies were not over cooked. We got cashew chicken and the seafood delight. The shrimp were large. We asked that the kitchen use less oil and less sauce and the dishes were cooked to order. Enjoyed it!
It has great service and yummy dishes at reasonable prices! Very friendly staff who cares about customers’ need. Love the quite and clean environment! ❤️
I really liked the flavor of the food, I ordered the bourbon chicken, the meat was soft and seasoned very well. The rice was perfect, service was fast and personable. There were only a few customers when I ate there, very relaxing atmosphere.

Went for dinner and it wasn't busy for a Thursday night. Service was good. Most Chinese restaurants in my area close at 8:30 but Hunan Jade is open til 10pm.
Quiet, little, well kept Chinese restaurant, seems to service lots of take out which is unique because the restaurants does not seem to be easily accessible from the main road. Prices are decent compared to the portion sizes. you have the ability to order online hear from an application that they direct you to. Just remember to check the times of the restaurant closing before placing your order.
The food was gt for the price and the service was great. Went in for a lunch special which they serve 7 days a week. Had hot and sour soup, sesame chicken, crab puffs, and spring rolls. Overall, not a bad option for Chinese in the area!
Best Chinese delivery in the area. Not the best I have ever had, but definitely the best I have had around here. The fried pork dumplings are a standout.

My favorite is the hot and Sour soup. Could have more solids than liquid, but the taste is great! All the food that I have ordered is tasty. Egg Plant in Garlic Sauce and Vegetable Foo Young are my favorites.

I called in my order and was told it would take 20 mins, but it ended up taking nearly an hour. When I arrived, I didn't see any employees for about 10-15 mins. I did enjoy the food, though.
Food was very tasty. Ordered delivery, took an hour to come though. The egg rolls tasted a little bitter like they used old oil. I don't know if it was because I ordered too late close to closing time.
Update… I wanted to give this place another chance after two-ish years and sad to say it may have actually gotten worse to the point that the egg drop soup was pretty much inedible (waaay too salty) and as “good” as the honey walnut shrimp was, it was not enough to warrant a return another return visit…note pics attached are from prior visit/old review that accidentally got written over 🙈

The food tasted good, almost as good as my usual place. The dinners didn't have as much food as much as my usual place though. Overall it was pretty good. The downside was my order was incomplete when I got there, which I didn't bother me waiting for the missing platter (I had a fairly large order) second bad thing is the egg drop soup doesn't come with the crunchies, and a fortune didn't have a fortune in it. Over all it was good, I still intend on going to my usual place but if they're closed I would definitely come back here.

I've been to a lot of Asian restaurants in the area I ordered the honey walnut shrimp and they gave me a super small portion with no silverware to go. I definitely expected more for $14
Hunan jade had been my go to since I moved back to the woodlands in May 2020, the food is usually good at the worst sometimes not real hot . A month ago I tried a dish that was the best and became my fav. I ordered it again today and it was NOT good. The dish was bland and greasy. My lo mein was greasier than normal and my chicken skewers were burnt and hard. And the chicken fried rice was greasy and bland. I called in the order and was told 20 mins. I came in 5 mins early to pay and wait and ended up standing in the lobby for an extra 29 minutes while listening to the cooks yell. I’m sure maybe it was an unhappy employee cooking my food and that’s why the food came out bad or they have a new cook. Either way I am very disappointed and dissatisfied. The lady that runs the front was very short tempered. I’ll try hot wok down the way next time 🥺
Wanted to try something new and was craving noodles so my husband and I tried this place out the other night. I ordered the Mei Fun with Chicken and Summer (soft) Rolls (like Spring Rolls) with peanut sauce. He had the Sweet 'n Sour Chicken. I woke up with cold sweats and had to go to the bathroom multiple times the next morning to expel whatever made me sick from this place. Being 8 months pregnant, that is not a fun feeling. Won't go back.
I have had Hunan Jade a lot and aware of the prices going up at every restaurant, but here they have almost doubled. The food amount has decreased and along with the quality. Not worth double the money for half the food or for the hour wait.
Its edible.....mostly. Ordered online and the food I got was edible(and missing the soup from a lunch order) if very small portion wise with little meat but the reason for this review is their fried pork dumpling. They are, for lack of a better word, garbage. Over fried, no filling and tasteless crispy wedges if you order from this place don't waste your money on this garbage.

It’s edible. Nothing worth eating twice though. I got the lunch special pepper steak. The rice isn't anything but soy sauce and white rice. Not the typical fried rice. The place was empty and I was the only one there. The lady up front was nice. The food wasn’t good to me. The fortune cookie was phenomenal though. Not the stale ones you typically get. It was good. Best part of my meal.

Chicken Lo Mein and veggie lettuce wraps were inedible. They both tasted like stale, old, reused cooking oil. We threw our entire order out after one bite of each which we couldn't swallow.
If I could give ZERO stars I would. DO NOT PLACE AN ORDER ONLINE. We placed an order online through their website for delivery. 40 mins later I call and ask about what time they should be here. The lady answers “hello hello hello” no business name, nothing. Very unprofessional. Then proceeds to tell me there’s no order under my address. I tell her my name. Then she says “oh yeah ok I just got it” I said “I placed my order 40 mins ago, why are you just now getting it?” She tells me they didn’t check the computer. Then tells me it will be 40 more mins (after nine pm). Doesn’t apologize, nothing. My husband goes to pick it up, there’s three other upset customers who didn’t get their delivery order as well. So he had to wait another 30 mins to get the food while waiting there. No apology, and refused to take off any money for the inconvenience. No respect at all for people’s time or money. GO ELSEWHERE.
Doesn't pay attention to orders! If you have an order history on the computer that shows that I don't eat lo mein only Mei fun but in general bad manners, hurries you through everything and they are always to busy to provide proper customer service. They are rude loud and you almost feel attacked when they talk to you. Would not recommend
I was in their kitchen for work years ago and wouldn't be caught dead eating food from there. Today my wife ordered takeout from here. Tiny serving of soup. Fried rice was white rice with soy sauce. Egg rolls were burned. Etc etc.. Food is in the trash can and Im still hungry. Good luck!
I ordered take out, door-dash was awesome, my food arrived early, and I received updates promptly. Unfortunately the food was very disappointing, I ordered the kungpao chicken, and the menu states "hot and spicy", this dish was as spicy as an egg-drop soup. The sauce was runny, and there were no peanuts, even though the menu also states there would be some. I wholeheartedly believe I did not get kungpao chicken, but a different dish, and I was very upset because I was looking forward to a spicy dish! Also, I ordered the crab puffs/rangoon and these were overcooked, and had very little cheese, not what I call "stuffed". I will make sure to not order from this restaurant again.
If I could give no stars I would. Ordered for me and family the portions were super small. They charged 1.00 extra for fried rice that was just rice with soy sauce no vegetables. The egg rolls were almost burnt. The Mongolian chicken had very little flavor and a lot sauce. The general tso's chicken was soggy, the chicken lo mein had more carrots than noodles. When we got our order there was no soy sauce, no spicy mustard, and NO FORTUNE COOKIES. THIS PLACE IS AWFUL. I really hope Bei Jing opens back. HOPE YOU LIKE A LOT OF CARROTS.
Horrible experience!!! I’d give it a zero if i could. Two out of three of us got food poisoning from the beef! We also found a hair in the wonton soup. I will never order here again! If you’re thinking about ordering here, I beg you to reconsider.
I wouldn't recommend. The combination fried rice was basically just a large order of brown rice with a couple peas in it. Hardly any egg or decent size pieces of of meat. The shrimp were almost see through and undercooked. The wonton soup was inedible the noodles were soggy probably because sitting for to long. and the eggs rolls are nothing special.
Received my order with MULTIPLE bugs in it. The first isn't pictured bc I did a squish test to see if it was a burnt sesame seed or a bug and it was the latter. Also Door Dash only wants to do a partial refund when the entire meal went in the garbage after that. If it was made in the same kitchen, it's all contaminated in my eyes.
The WORST meal I had in a while. As soon as I opened the box it smelled awful, I took one bite and knew it’s not safe to eat and had to trash it immediately!

I do not do a lot of reviews. It has to be really special or really bad. I LOVE chinese and like everything from semi good buffets to very expensive nice restaurants. This was probably the worst I've ever had. Fried rice was ok. Beef and veggies was oh hum. Then there was the pot stickers. Barely filled, lacking in flavor, and over fried. The dumpling sauce was something I have never tasted before and not in a good way. Egg rolls? Just make your own frozen egg rolls. They'll be fresher, crisper, and tastier. I will not go back.
I have always bought in that place I went today and they told me that my card had declined 3 months ago for $31 and I always go every week they made me pay two bills because according to them I left without paying which is not like that I always pay the bills and more being food. Bad attention and bad administration
As I file this review on 3/18/22 their ratings are 3.8. Door Dash said 4.6. Had I known about the 3.8 I wouldn't have tried them. Egg drop soup was good. Summer rolls were good but the dipping sauce was horrible. General Tso's chicken was the worst I've ever had. Fried rice was ok but could have used some vegetables. My office mate said the wonton soup broth was good but the noodles were too thick, the eggroll was tasty but overcooked, and the sweet and sour chicken was good. As we were finishing lunch I felt the need to use the bathroom and had explosive diarrhea. I won't be back.
I wouldn’t give them one star but you have to leave them something to leave a review!! I placed a $60.00 order through DoorDash and only got half of it and what was received was COLD. Waited over TWO hours for delivery. When I called to tell them what was missing they told me I needed to come get it or send another driver. What’s the point of paying for delivery if I have to come get the rest of my order!?!?!? This place is not only awful but they’re USELESS!! Don’t waste your money on this place!!!!!!
