Elisia was friendly and took great care of me for breakfast. Food was on point. Gravy was real sausage gravy. Only problem was I couldn’t eat it all.

My husband and I stopped here after a comedy show at The Pageant. The service was Amazing! Elisia and Rosie were awesome! Very attentive and personable. They even had my husbands favorite beer. I even asked for the recipe for their twice baked potatoes and the veggies because…YUM. The Alfredo was good, and the pork chop and wings lived up to the hype. Definitely a must try place.

We had Elisha as our sever and she was fantastic. Very attentive and made sure we were taken care of the whole time. I got the Cesar salad and my fiancé got the moon lander. We also had cocktails and onion petals for an appetizer. Very good spot to hit before an event at the pageant or other local venues. Thanks for the good experience!

I can't believe this place is rated under 4 stars, because we couldn't have had a better experience here. The food was fresh and delicious and of great quality. The parmasean french fries were a highlight! We had great service too. I don't think that it is overpriced, but maybe I'm unfamiliar with usual Missouri prices? Regardless, it was of quality we would expect from a nicer hotel restaurant, obviously not a Ritz, but it wasn't priced that way either. I would definitely recommend coming here if you are staying at the Moonrise or seeing a show at the Pageant.

Great restaurant and service and atmosphere. We had a party of 13 people and they accommodated us in their bigger event space. Service was outstanding with Elisia being the star of our party service. Food was good. I certainly recommend this place for special occasion including parties and intimate dinner settings.

Nice restaurant right on the Delmar loop. Not much for vegan options on the menu, but I ended up really liking a plate of rice and beans, fried plantain, and house fries. They also have a nice selection of cocktails. I tried the sunrise and it was really good. Would go back to order the same meal. You have to go into the hotel to use the restroom, but you get to then see more of the moon theme decorations, so I thought that was actually pretty cool to see how that motif is carried through between the hotel and restaurant.

What a wonderful gem of a restaurant, tucked in the moonrise hotel. We had bananas foster French toast and a bagel sandwich which were delicious. The best part was our server Elisa, who was cheering and attentive. 10/10 recommend, especially if Elisa is working

Elisia was our server and she was accommodating, personable, and extremely professional! It’s seldom that you receive this level of service and my girlfriend and I enjoyed Elisia’s attentiveness as well as her mindfulness of our need to dine without rushing! She is to be commended for a job well done and a pleasant attitude that is welcoming to all!

We have been there three times in the past two weeks while going to shows at nearby venues. The food and drink drinks have been consistently good. The staff is eager to please. Elisia has been our server twice and she is very happy to serve us. Sihar has always made sure our experience was good also. We are looking forward to trying the rooftop bar.

Sydney, Sahar, & Elisia made us feel right at home. They went out of their way to ensure we had a great guest experience. The food was great, drinks were cold, but most importantly they kept us lauging all night long. I would give them a 10 out of 10.

We came for the first time tonight! Everything was clean, delicious, and the atmosphere was fantastic. Our server was Elisha — she was incredibly attentive, kind and made our visit even more special! We will definitely be back!

The experience here overall was just average. I suppose it's convenient if you are a hotel guest, but just didn't feel like it was worth the money. The service was polite but slow. I live incredibly close to this hotel, but I am not sure I would go back. Maybe this one is better left to the tourists. Cool setting but overpriced and average.

Elisia was great! She helped us through the new menu since we hadn’t been here in a while! We were really looking forward to the Mushroom Gouda soup! Sad to see that is gone. Thanks Elisia for being so helpful and kind!

Thanksgiving Day Brunch Earlier in the morning, a friend asked me if I had ever had a bad Thanksgiving Day meal. I proudly said, NO. I shared my Christmas bad meal story and restated that I never had a bad Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, that must of been the jinx. I can now say I have experienced a bad Thanksgiving at the age of 69. I'll start with the positive, because what's good is the most important. Salmon - Very good. I'd get it as an entree on my return. Turkey - Tender and juicy. Brisket - Nice. Seasoned well and just the perfect amount of fat. Green Beans - OMG. Flavorful and made fresh. Beans had a nice snap. Mac & Cheese - Great flavor for m&c made on the stove top. Mash Potatoes - made fresh and garlicky. Pecan Pie - It's my favorite. Carvers - Staff working carving station offered good customer service. Disappointment: Dressing - Tasted like Stove Top. Was Dry. Gravy - Did the job, but flavorless. Had to add salt & pepper. Pecan Pie - Not very flavorful. Favorite pie, so I may be a hard judge. Bacon - Could have been baked a little more. Major Disappointment: The organization and service. Not accepting cash as a form of payment. Layout of buffet tables, the flow was not good, diners got congested. Tables in buffet room were disorganized and ruined the ambiance. In closing: The staff needed to adjust their attitudes. They were rushing diners while eating and even when signing for the bill. I wonder if they were short staffed, I saw management bussing tables. That was good to see they are team players and supporting their staff. Before retirement, my career had me working holidays. There were years that I worked both Thanksgiving and Christmas. So I am appreciative of Eclipse being open and serving a Thanksgiving meal. I'll go back for a regular experience, but I'll skip a holiday buffet.

Great staff, great location, nice space! It's really a shame that the thing that needs the most improvement is the food. It was awful. Presentation, taste, quality. There is clearly a lack of care and enthusiasm in the kitchen. The Alfredo sauce tasted bland and as if it had been in the refrigerator for days. Nothing tasted fresh or seasoned. We were served a plate of wet noodles with unseasoned cold chicken on top. The salmon was overcooked and greasy ... they sat it on top of the rice, which then made that greasy. It was a mess. The only thing edible was the Ribeye...which was also overcooked. It appears that this place is hit or miss and lacks consistency of standards and quality in the kitchen. It's likely a reflection of leadership because they set the bar for food excellence and apparently they've set it low.

They stuck us in a super bright back room and we were pretty much forgotten about. When they finally came to our table it took us 45 minutes to get our drinks, and over an hour to get our food. Plus they messed up our check a credit card transactions. Not to mention, the menu on the website is not what we got in the restaurant, no steaks or salmon available. Not a great first experience.

It breaks my heart to have to leave such a negative review of Eclipse, because this restaurant and the Moonrise holds a very special place in my heart. Many years ago, this was one of my all-time favorite spots in the city. My husband and I had our first date at the rooftop bar, spent our first Valentine’s Day at Eclipse, got engaged on the patio, and even spent our wedding night at the hotel. Back then, the food was excellent, the service was great, and the overall vibe was fun and kitschy. It’s been several years since we’d been back, but I had assumed I would be getting the great experience I was used to. Last night, a friend and I took our 5-6yo daughters to a concert nearby, and I booked a reservation at Eclipse for a fun “fancy” dinner for the girls. My daughter and I arrived at 5:30 when the restaurant was not at all busy. It took a few minutes for someone to come to the front to seat us, but we were given waters pretty quickly. My friend was running a few minutes behind, but our server kept asking if we were ready to order even though our party was not yet complete, which seemed odd. I had to ask several times for a kids menu, and was confused when she said that she “would have to get it from the wall.” Finally she brought a paper kid’s menu that was stained with food, scribbled with crayon, and had scotch tape around the edges…literally an old gross menu that had clearly been taped to a wall. So weird. Our friends arrived, and we quickly placed an order. I had a burger and a beer, my friend had a chicken fettuccine alfredo and a beer, her daughter ordered what the menu described as “fettuccine with 2 meatballs and marinara” and my daughter had chicken tenders and fries. The girls both asked for lemonades as well. We got our drinks reasonably fast, but we started to notice that people who were seated after us were getting their food. At this point we had been there for 40+ minutes with no food in sight. Finally my burger arrived (it was a little small for the price, but pretty good), and my friend’s daughter was brought a plate of fettuccine alfredo with chicken and 3 very overcooked (let’s just say burnt) meatballs. When we said that it was supposed to be a red sauce, the server just stared at us and unapologetically said that this was what we ordered. It wasn’t, but the kid was fine with it, so we let it roll. Several minutes later, my friend got her food. It took an additional FIFTEEN minutes for my daughter’s chicken strips to come out. Our concert started at 7:00, and her food finally arrived at 6:53. I asked for a manager twice, and was told that they were too busy to come to the table. Our server never offered refills or apologized for the delay until the chicken finally came…she then offered us a box (not helpful since we can’t take a food container into a music venue) and offered us some discount for future visits (sadly we clearly have no intention of coming back). It then took several more minutes to get the check even though it was obvious that we were in a hurry. My child’s meal was comped thankfully, but I had to take a hungry toddler clutching a single chicken strip to her first concert. Sigh. I guess it’s the end of an era and my family will bo longer be coming to the Moonrise, despite the sentimental value it holds for us. The food is decent but overpriced, the selection is not at all what it used to be, and the gross used kids menu was really the nail in the coffin. Very disappointing.

Horrible experience. Way overpriced. Food wrong. When it did come out, the salmon was completely raw. Double smash burgers didn’t even make it to the bun…the wagyu patties didn’t even make it to the edge of the bun. The waitress was nice and did her best. She had the food redone to the right one and had the salmon cooked and took that portion off the bill as well as brought dessert for free. But it was still completely overpriced for mediocre food as well. Even with the dessert and my salmon salad removed from the bill, it still was absolutely too much.

I would like to rate this with a negative number. We went to their Thanksgiving buffet. 4 years ago (when they were under old management) we had TG dinner there and it was very good. From the outset I had concerns. Their reservation app was difficult to navigate and I got a call back from the management. I told them that I was looking for a time window within the open hours of noon to five and was told that they weren’t making timed reservations. I was also told that they expected payment in advance, but then said that they would reserve us, and we could pay at the bar. We were assured that they could adequately serve all who showed up, regardless of the time. We were met in the bar by a guy dressed in a leprechaun outfit who seemed to be in charge. Unfortunately I did pay at the bar, before looking at the buffet, so I didn’t know until entering the buffet that they had no turkey left (it was 3:30), only prime rib. The prime rib was almost raw, and I say that as someone who prefers very rare beef. (See photo.). It was almost unchewable. The other dishes on the buffet were all terrible and weren’t hot. Brussels sprouts were cooked into oblivion. Salad dressings and other sauces/gravy weren’t labeled. There were almost no people dining and there were employees drifting in and out, but we struggled to get anybody to take an order for wine. While we were eating dessert, the leprechaun turned up to deliver us a glass of not-iced water. The same employee came around to sell us a Christmas event, menu in hand. This whole experience was like a huge spoof, but much too expensive at $65 each plus tax. Also, no steak knives for the beef, paper cups for coffee that looked like weak tea. Easily one of the top 5 worst restaurant meals ever.

I dined at Eclipse on Valentine’s Day with my wife. I made a reservation (and received confirmation) weeks in advance after seeing their pre-fixe special recommended in St. Louis Magazine. When we arrived, we were told that they could not find our reservation, “but would take us anyway.” Based on other reviews, this seems to be an ongoing issue for them. Once seated, it became clear that the dining room was in chaos. We noticed immediately that nearly all of the tables around us were complaining about everything from poor service to incorrect food to just begging for their check so they could leave. Our server came over and informed us that they were out of both options for the first course- at 7pm, for a Valentine’s Day event scheduled for last service at 10pm. We were particularly excited for the appetizer course so this was quite disappointing. We ordered 2 cocktails, 2 salads, and 2 entrees. We first received 1 salad and 1 random off menu item that we did not order. As the food runner came out with the plates, she asked a server where they went and was told, “Just give it to them!” She dropped the plates at our table without explaining what the unknown item was. I cut it open to find it seemed to be fried cheese, which we could not eat due to dietary restrictions. Suspiciously soon after, we received our entrees. We think we likely received another table’s order. The entrees were supposed to be served with asparagus, but instead got unseasoned squash. The chicken was thin and dry. The steak was miraculously cooked well, however, it seems mine may have been an exception. One patron leaned over from another table to ask me about my steak cook and complain about hers. We finally received our second salad and drinks after the entrees. For one drink, salad, and entree each, our bill was almost $200 with a tip. For this. $200. Throughout our dinner, the servers were literally running through the dining room yelling out to tables asking what they had ordered. We could hear a server from another area of the restaurant berating a food runner for continuously making mistakes. The energy in the restaurant was hostile and unpleasant. We were ultimately grateful for whatever mistake occurred that allowed us to leave earlier than expected. We made the best of our evening, but this was far from the nice Valentine’s dinner I had planned. Personally, we will not be back to the Eclipse Restaurant or Moonrise Hotel and will gladly tell this to anyone who might ask.

STAY AWAY!!! This was by far the worst restaurant experience we've ever had. 1. We arrived at 6pm for our scheduled reservation. They said they did not have a reservation for us and sat us down at a dirty table. It took them 10min to come clean the table of dirty dishes. 2. The waiter did not acknowledge us until 615. We promptly ordered our food. We come to find out that the pictures of the food are extremely outdated. They have a basic menu of sandwiches and wraps. We ordered nachos to start, Philly cheese steaks for my wife and I and boneless wings for our toddler. 3. The waiter comes to our table at 630 and tells us there are no breads for Philly cheasteaks so we order their basic burger instead. I ask if the boneless wings are on the way for my toddler. She says they will be out in less than 5min 4. They come to our table at 648 with a different table's order. At this point we are putting on our jackets to leave but the waitress comes back and says that the food will be out in 5 min. We'll surprise, surprise 15min later at 703 and she brings burnt bone-in wings for my toddler. I told her they were supposed to be boneless and she says "well I have bone-in written down so thats what you ordered". 5. She brings out a burger for my wife at 712 for my wife. She brings out a burger for me at 728 then the nachos last at 735. The food was bland and it took over an hour and a half for all of our food to come to the table.

We ate here a few years ago and had one of the best steaks ever on NYE. Not knowing any better we booked the hotel and reserved a table for NYE this year FOR this restaurant. We were shocked to get the menu we received. Basically sandwiches, wraps and bar food. Very disappointing as we were also celebrating my 40th. It arrived and it was absolutely terrible. A McDonalds burger was better than what my husband got. I ordered fish tacos that literally was a warmed up fillet on a wrap I could have gotten at the supermarket sprinkled with a few tomatos, iceberg lettuce and store bought ranch. It was not worth what they charged AT ALL. Honestly embarrassed I even booked there. I’m not a foodie, I don’t need fancy, just prefer edible food. I never leave reviews but you’ve been warned. Will never come back.

We had a deeply disappointing experience my wife and I had at your restaurant during the Valentine’s Day special dinner on February 14th. We had high expectations for the evening, but unfortunately, the service and food quality were well below the standard we expected from Eclipse Restaurant. We arrived for our 6:00 PM reservation promptly, but the evening struggled to get off the ground. Specifically, I would like to highlight the following issues: * Excessive Delays: Our first course (the salad) did not arrive until 45 minutes after we were seated. For a prix-fixe or special event menu, this timing is unacceptable. * Poor Food Quality: The main courses were significantly overcooked. My wife’s beef medallions were dry and flavorless, while my salmon was burnt to a hard, cracker-like texture. Neither dish was enjoyable or prepared with the care a special occasion warrants. * Disorganized Service: The service felt chaotic. The individual delivering food seemed to have no record of which dishes belonged to which table, resulting in her walking from table to table asking guests if the food she was holding was theirs. This disrupted the ambiance and felt very unprofessional. I would not recommend Eclipse
