Opiniones de Sushi Dan Studio City
Cute little sushi joint in the little strip mall off Ventura Boulevard. I was meeting some friends at residuals Tavern after and this was a great pitstop to get some fresh sushi. Cute neon lights and decor. Service was excellent. Very friendly and speedy. I had a seaweed salad and a nice hot sake. Then I got the spicy tuna cut roll with easy rice and it was perfect. Very fresh tasting sushi. I forgot to get pictures before I gobbled down half of it. Lol. Happy hour Monday through Friday from 4 to 7. A lot of items on that happy hour menu with really good prices. Will be back!
Fresh! That’s the most important word when it comes to sushi, and Sushi Dan delivers. This is an above-average mid-range sushi spot, especially in terms of freshness and overall food quality. Some dishes are pricier than at other places, but that might be due to the higher rent area they are located in. I’ve only ever ordered takeout, so I can’t speak to the dine-in experience. But even through takeout, the quality holds up. My favorite is the miso soup—perfectly balanced, not too salty, with fresh, soft tofu and real kelp. The lobster hand roll is the most generous I’ve ever had—more lobster than rice, which is rare. My only minor critique is with the sashimi cuts—sometimes they’re a bit too thick, other times just right. Not sure what’s going on there, but the freshness is consistently excellent, and that’s what matters most.
Every time I come here, I try something new and love it! The menu is super helpful and there are so many options. The service is really quick and the chefs are great at making recommendations. I definitely recommend the baked miso black cod for an appetizer and also checking out the chef creations board. I’ve never had an issue getting a table or finding neighborhood parking but I imagine evenings can be tough.
Amazingly good sushi. Love it. Seared salmon belly sushi was to die for. I like my eel perfectly seared, warm, tender and crispy on the outside - not that common (many restaurants serve it cold and rubbery). Spanish mackerel is my benchmark sushi dish that lets me judge a Japanese restaurant and these guys nailed it. Highly recommend. The only thing that disappointed me a little - was the fact that they didn't have any red snapper. But overall it's a solid 5/5 - excellent value too.
This sushi joint corner in a strip mall caught me off guard with it's very good service and lightning quick order serve. Despite the ultra fast service the sushi itself does not reflect that in taste and presentation. Great atmosphere punk hall without the smoke.
My first time trying sushi 🍣 in Los Angeles and it was the best I’ve tasted thus far. I had sushi in the past and my biggest complaint has always been the freshness. It was nice to taste sushi that was not only fresh but so tasty. The sushi rolls are not loaded with rice and are made to perfection. I asked for ginger but not once’s I used it as it was really fresh. Usually ginger is my go to, to get rid of the taste of unpleasant flavour. This night I used none!! Hit like, if you found my review helpful and you agree with me. #chicosreviews76
The sushi was pretty good. The service was great. The studio city roll was way too salty imo and very acidic almost. The paparazzi is the greatest sushi dessert I’ve ever had. Dangerously good but rich and heavy. The combination was solid as well.
From all the sushi places I have been to, this is definitely My favorite place. The sushi here is really good. I have never tasted albacore as soft and tasty as they have it at sushi Dan's. My all time favorite thing to order from here is the albacore special roll, the baked langostino and the danny roll. The albacore nigiri is really good too. I dip it in garlic ponzu and you really don't need anything else. I also sometimes order the albacore salad which is really refreshing.
If your unvaccinated no worries because there is an outside seating option to enjoy! Just a heads up the orders come in 4 pieces when you order sushi. My experience was a quick one from seating to actually recieving the sushi. Staff was top notch. & That sushi must come from the best fishmongers because it was love at first taste. Nothing bad to say here, Sushi Dan is 💯

Great customer service and the sushi rolls were delicious, clean open space and nice sushi bar.👍
One of our family to-go-for-sushi spot.😁 all always fresh and Yummi sushi and friendly stuff. We also love their lunch special “box” of 3 or 4 meat thingies, always leave loaded😅🥲👍🏻
All these years later and I still tell folks this place is the only place I have had the most amazingly fresh and delicious sushi. Wish we had one in ATL, I miss Cali 😒
Fantastic restaurant. The food here is utterly delectable, with beautiful cuts of sashimi to rolls pilled with fish. When I visited on Christmas it was busy and chaotic but due to the day I assume that their service on a normal day would be better. Regardless I would willingly take the slower service for the delicacies you can find in this small restaurant.

As a mom of two, I felt really moved at sushi dan because they were so accommodating to us as a family. My kids are really young still, so it gets a little embarrassing taking my kids out to eat at restaurants. Picky food requests, frequent demands for napkins, etc. Still, I do want to eat out once in awhile, and by chance we stumbled into this gem on Ventura Blvd. I’m very grateful to everyone for making us feel so welcome. We will be back. XOXO
This place was a nice little surprise. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but once you step in, the atmosphere is rather nice. Their Menu has plenty options to choose from and the service was fast. Wifey ordered the Rainbow Roll and I got the Mushroom Trio. Rainbow Roll was plated to please the eye and the Mushrooms were buttery, which I'll never complain about. All together great Sushi spot.
Enjoy coming here when I’m in Studio City. Quick, great staff, and just a fun, casual vibe. Food is great and I always leave full.
We were able to get a reservation on Mother’s Day for a big group of 17 with little notice so it’s definitely a restaurant that can accommodate a big group. We were immediately seated and promptly given menus with their specials. The main menu was a QR code on the table. Even though our full party wasn’t there we were seated which is always a plus with a large party. They have a pretty extensive menu with not just sushi but hot foods from the kitchen. Food came out rather quickly except for one of kid’s meals. They did apologize a few times and offered to take half off, but at some point we decided to cancel as the kid was so hungry just ate someone else’s leftovers. Most restaurants prioritize kids meals but not the case here or at least not this time. Other than that it was a good dining experience and everything tasted delicious and fresh.
Very good sushi and very good deal 50%off selected sushi rolls. They have big selection of nigiri’s, and a lot of sushi varieties. The fish was very fresh and the service was good. There is also good parking in the back which is very helpful. Give it a try I am sure you’ll like it.
The food here is good, very tasty as well . I also love the peach iced tea and the pot stickers fried were good I enjoyed them . I order the teriyaki salmon with mix tempura and chicken. Wings. I order two sushi rolls the salmon roll and the dragon roll . Both of the rolls were very good yummy!! I will definitely come back here again if I visit LA for another trip!!
Sushi Dan offers a decent amount of unique and flavorful sushi combinations not to mention soups and side dishes. Overall the food was fantastic and the fried calamari that I had was top-notch the crab sushi we had was a little mediocre and seemed like it may not have been the best quality but the miso soup and the rolls were all wonderful and I would highly recommend sticking with those. This place gets super busy and the service has a tendency to suffer because of how swamp they are so I would recommend getting there early or ordering your food to go to avoid the wait.

Sushi Dan is the best place serving the most delicious and excellent quality fish. Love ❤️ this place. Three weeks ago I visited the place again. The quality of fish wasn't the same as first time. I asked for a spicy salmon hand roll and it was filled with spicy sauce they serve you, so you didn't taste the salmon and it was very chewing and very little salmon. There was three of us and we spent a lot of money and where very disappointed.

Good Food and casual atmosphere, but I was very distressed to find, after the fact, that a 25% tip was added without warning. We were a party of 5; I never saw any disclosure of an automatic gratuity, especially that large. IMO that was very dishonest, so for me, and everyone in my party, this place was a one and done.
