We ordered take-out and was not disappointed by the flavour by what we ordered. Their soups were very nice to have on the colder nights and mornings as they were light and mellow. I personally reccomend the Three Treasure Basil Chicken and Thai-style Popcorn Chicken (fried w basil leaves), wonderful with a side of rice and very filling. Whatever they did to marinate the chicken filled it with flavour w every bite. They still retained their taste even after reheating after the next day. I would love to go back and try more of their menu one day.
Had a lot of fun sampling all the vegetarian appetizers. We tried dumplings, pot stickers, spring rolls and onion pancakes. Each with a different filling. It is good when the vegetarian options are actually options. And so tasty!
Small hole-in-the-wall with amazing dumplings. I can't say much about their other food, but I did try their Mapo Tofu with noodles - very spicy! The dumplings were delicious.
After finishing our morning walk in windy rainy weather we wanted to have some steamed dumplings & since it's Lunar New Year we thought why not let's go for it . This is written in Chinese as 过年好 / 過年好, and translates to "Guò nián ho". "Guò nián ho" is pronounced as 'gwor-nyen haoww' in Mandarin and 'gwor-nin haow' in Cantonese. I called the restaurant & gave my order for pickup, when I entered the restaurant my order was already ready for pickup, I spoke to the owner she was so nice & helpful we interacted for few minutes maintaining our social distance. Since it's Lunar New Year I wished her & asked her how to say in mandarin she was so happy to teach me & I loved the conversation with the mother & daughter which I miss given the pandemic situation. Amazing customer service kudos to them for treating every customer so graciously. After paying I was about to pickup the order & leave, the owner said to the daughter to give BBQ Pork Steamed Bun ( free of charge) as a token of thanks which was so appreciative & I was completely surprised. They told me to try it's their most popular item. These are the dishes I ordered - 1) Wonton (Chicken & spinach filling) noodle soup- broth was amazingly good & piping hot it had carrots, black fungus mushrooms & bok choy. 2) XLB Shanghai Soup Dumplings - it had 6 pieces amazing taste & flavor. 3) Cantonese Shrimp dumplings - 8 pieces very flavorful we loved it. 4) Green onion pancake - 8 slices we loved it. 5) Beef Chow Fun - good amount of beef slices enjoyed it very much. 6) BBQ Pork Steamed Bun - 3 pieces , nice balance of flavors & pork chunks we loved it. After reaching home I reheated some of the food to enjoy it piping hot. Loved that the soup was packed nicely (soup in plastic container, wonton & noodle packed separately in the box container) . Amazing customer service & would love to support the local business , can't wait for indoor dining to take the full experience.
Home made dumplings are all excellent, I particularly move the pan fried soup dumplings. They are super good and juicy with a good amount of filling. The dough is a little thicker than at some other places but I feel the flavor here is better than others, and when they are freshly made and still have that crispy fried layer, they're amazing.
My husband and I love Epic Dumpling! The food is great. We get the dumpling soup and he gets the fried rice. The service is also top tier. Such a friendly staff!
This is a little hole in the wall spot we love. The inside is very underwhelming, some boxes piled in a corner, very few tables- but trust me, it doesn’t matter. It’s my son’s favorite restaurant. The soup dumplings are his favorite- served piping hot, eaten in a spoon. I like the pan fried dumplings. The garlic eggplant was fantastic!! I wish I had more. The owners are very sweet. A great low key restaurant with delicious food.
I ordered a ton of dumplings for a baby shower, and they delivered them right to my door, even though I am all the way in Downtown SJ! The food was incredible, all of the guests commented on how tasty it was, and everyone had a different favorite. The vegan eggrolls were especially good, and surprised me that they were vegan! I highly recommend Epic Dumpling for any catering needs you may have, we had a great experience and would absolutely order from them again! Thank you!
Enjoyed our vegetarian lunch. We started with cucumber salad for appetizer, followed by green onion pancake, vegetarian mapo tofu, and sauteed pea shoots with garlic. Finished the meal with an order red bean bun.
Ordered Shrimp & Chives (turned out to have pork) dumplings, Chicken & Spinach dumplings, and Beef Roll (there's a Beef Pancake also, so make sure of your order). Took out Mapo Tofu. Loved the chicken spinach dumplings, which had a dab of sweet sauce and with the table hot sauce (go easy - it's quite spicy), with cucumbers cut thin. They are really great: 5 stars. These guys know how to make dumplings skins! Beef Rolls were a tad greasy, and the dough was a bit thick. They're a 4 star. TBD on the Mapo Tofu, but this dish was said to be good by other reviewers. Kinda hole in the wall and simple strip mall locale. If you're down for a casual atmosphere, it serves.
Had the craving for dumplings, this place did not disappoint. Little hole on wall mom and pop place, we could see the lady making the dumplings in the front window. Had Shanghai soup dumplings and pork and chive dumplings. YUMMMMM. Also had some MaPo tofu. Had some chow fun, pan Fried soup during, soup dumplings, and a green onion pan cake (more like a somosa). Definitelybgood atuff.
Lots of people recommending the xiaolongbao on Google but I felt they were 4/5. Good chew on the wrapper and good amount of juice but low flavor. They're better than any of the others locally but don't match up to the really good places in SF. Obviously don't order these for delivery, they always have to be eaten fresh when served. The dumplings, shuijiao, the boiled ones, are where this place really shines. Great skin, great flavor. A match for anywhere in the bay. The chive boxes (juicai heze) (for some reason called chive pancakes on the English menu) are deep fried. Just a warning since in my part of China we pan fry these and I wasn't expecting it. Unclear if there were dried shrimp in these, may be a regional thing. The pan-fried dumplings (guotie) are also low flavor. I get the feeling this place doesn't do great with Northern Chinese style. No complaints on the cold dishes. I'd stick to the shuijiao if I visit again, they're superb.
I am proud to show off that we are influencers when it comes to ordering. An elderly couple who were dining behind us came up to our table and asked about our orders because it looks so good. We really enjoyed the XLB, I feel it has a lot of soup and packed with the right flavors. Price and the number of pcs are also proportional. We loved the fried rice. Rice is life! Definitely a good Chinese resto in the area.
Awesome hidden gem of a restaurant! Got bummed out by the wait and price of Din Tai Fung so wanted something to make up for it and Epic definitely did! Everything we had we had was delicious. We had plenty of food leftover as well which means I can still savor some of it tomorrow. If you like paying for quality food and not hype or atmosphere, this place is for you.

Delicious dumplings! Love the steamed pork soup dumplings or pan fried soup dumplings. Do not miss out on the egg fried rice, super light and fluffy. Orange chicken is also good. Egg custard buns for desert and you’re set! The price is also very reasonable and large portions. Perfect hole in the wall dim sum spot!
I’ve been coming here for years! The food is delicious and dumplings are better than Ding Tai Fung. Best place to eat dumplings and without the crazy lines! It’s a small dive but I personally think that it’s quite charming.
Absurdly good food! I've tried various plates and have yet to be disappointed. The only negative experience was the Salt and Pepper Pork last time I went; it was very salty. Even then I ate it because it's SO GOOD

Soup dumplings! Perfect hidden gem hole-in-wall. Fresh, tasty, hot out of the steamers, a little bit expensive but not bad. Fair selection, but don't expect Din Tai Fung. All dishes were good, but Bacon & basil fried rice was amazing, we cudn't stop eating it. Pork & shrimp sio mai was O.K. Garlic green onion pancake very tasty (my daughter's favorite, even if she is 6 months pregnant!). Shanghai pork soup and fried soup dumplings (definitely order again). Service was good, altho we just beat the crowd by 15 min. We had ordered 6 dishes (for 4) and they somehow did not get the 6th (spicy beef tendon), we got dessert instead - sesame balls and black & golden molten lava buns (salted egg in steamed black buns - the highlight of the dinner!) Great presentation as the yolks were perfectly cooked and oozed out of the buns when punctured like lava. Fun and delicious!! Sorry no pics, eaten too quickly ;<}
We got the Chocolate Xiao Long Bao 6 pieces for $9.99. The taste was good, but it costs way too much for the amount of food we are getting. $1.67 per dumpling! I would be happy to give 5 stars if they lower the price. The environment/decor also isn't all that special. So I am not sure how they are justifying the price.
Pretty authentic Chinese food. Hot dishes are usually really reliable! Love the pig ears!
This is kind of a hole in the wall place. The best item we had was the shrimp fried rice. Well cooked and tasted wonderful. The dumplings were good as well. The xiao long bao was alright. I would avoid the broccoli tofu dish. That was super salty. Service was decent. You can order online via a WR code. Plenty of parking.
Delicious little hole in the wall dumpling place, serving hot Chinese food in a dimly lit restaurant. :) You know it’s a great sign when you see older Chinese aunties in the shop window expertly wrapping hundreds of dumplings. True to its name, the dumpling selection on the menu is expansive and all the dumplings are really good. They also have other things (non-dumpling) on their menu. There were definitely a few standout dishes and a few I thought were just okay. GREAT (would order again) - hot and sour soup - salt pepper chicken wings - salt pepper fried fish - soup dumplings (xiao long bao) - spicy wonton dumplings - stir fry green beans - pretty much any dumpling on the menu, they’re freshly made! - egg yolk and boba black sesame balls Just ok (wouldn’t get again) - pan fried soup dumplings (shen jian bao) - green onion pancake - chow fun (noodle) I think this is one of my favorite places for soup dumplings now. The soup had great flavor, the filling held up well, the skin was not too thick or thin and didn’t break easily. The other standout on the menu were the black sesame balls, filled with hot gooey sweet yolk and boba. They were freshly fried and amazing! They’re not on the regular menu and was a special when I came here (May 2025) This truly is a hole in the wall place located in an unassuming plaza, so it was quite dark inside and the seating and bathroom was limited. Come for the food not the ambiance.
Came here on a Thursday night and this place is great! Definitely a hidden gem. Good: No wait: we got seated right away and the service was quick. The pan fried soup dumplings were just right - very chewy and great flavor. The hot and sour soup here is really good - a bit spicy but still tasy. Prices here are great too! Very reasonable for the portion sizes you get which is huge. Bad: The mapo tofu noodle soup was a combo that didn't seem to sit right with my stomach - it was good, but it was a bit too much spice. It's a pretty clean place, but don't expect amazing service. Overall would come again!
Been here several times now and really like their Dan Dan noodles. The sauce that it comes with seems to be a combination of some kind of sesame sauce, soy/ vinegar sauce and chili sauce. The noodles are bouncy and fresh and the balance of the dish is done really well. We always have their dumplings and find them to be average. They are good every day type of dumplings but nothing special to them, just done consistently and made fresh. They have a kiosk now when you come in to order and you can order online for pickup as well, which is very convenient. They do offer a cash discount, which is a nice option if you carry cash with you. The cash discount does not apply to their frozen orders though and buy it does require a cash payment.

Had an order of soup dumplings. Flavor was good. Only 2 of 6 had soup. The rest didn’t. I told the waiter and he explained that the kitchen staff doesn’t get the timing right today but when the Chinese staff are in, they do it right. No apology, no attempt to remedy. Just excuse. Maybe their other dumplings are good but soup dumplings are not reliable.
Came here after craving dumplings and the food was ok. They have a discount on yelp if you order at least $30. Overall I’d say this is a decent place for quick and easy take out. We placed an order over the phone and when we arrived there was a small line for pick up (which moved fairly quickly). We ate our food right away in the car after pickup for optimal freshness. Shanghai Pan Fried Soup Dumplings - they were good but they looked a bit sad in the take out box, maybe it was because it was take out. There wasn’t a lot of soup inside but still tasted decently good. Sichuan Hot Chili Oil Wontons - super yummy! The wontons were boiled to perfection and the filling was very tasty. The chili oil on top just enhanced the flavor even more! I would probably get these again if I come back.
Got the pork soup dumplings & shrimp & pork Sichuan spicy dumplings. The spicy dumplings weren’t really spicy at all, & had no Sichuan spices it was actually more on the sweet side but the dumplings it self were delicious. The soup dumplings were kinda bland and didn’t have much soup in it but I still enjoyed them very much. Super affordable & it’s 10% off if you pay in cash . :)
We visited here for dinner. Very convenient to order using our phone right at our table. We ordered several dishes: egg drop soup, a tofu dish, pan fried soup dumplings, steamed pork buns, etc. You get very generous portion sizes and the food was tasty. Also not too crowded when we were there. Overall not too bad.
The expansive menu intrigued me, so I wanted to go and try the spicy stuff. Mapo tofu was excellent, one of the best in the South Bay. However, the beef noodle soup was bland and disappointing. I will go back just to try the dumplings, hoping for an epic experience 🤞🙏
I ordered because of the 5 star review on GrubHub, but definitely disappointed with the quality of food. Not sure if it's because it was a delivery. Salt & pepper tofu and Hot & sour soup were the better dishes out of the rest of the food ordered. Sichuan hot chili wontons and BBQ pork steamed bun were mediocre. All Shanghai soup dumplings were dry and didn't have any soup. Egg yolk steamed bun had weird jelly-liked filling, doesn't taste like egg yolk at all.
Not that epic — the dumplings and hargow seemed like they were bought from the store. Other food was better: tomato egg rice combination ($13.99) was the best dish we ordered, sauteed garlic pea shoots ($16.99) was pretty good but too pricey, green onion pancake w garlic ($8.99) solid but didn't taste differently from a green onion pancake without garlic 🤷♀️, salt & pepper tofu ($12.99) was flavorful but way too salty. Chowbus ordering system was seamless besides not being able to settle the bill in app, food came fast, service was good enough. Also pretty sure this restaurant is tied to Dumpling Depot, Dumpling Capital, Dumpling City with identical menus and pricing.
The 12pc pork dumplings with Napa cabbage (12$) isn't really worth it. Taste about the same as what you'd make at home with frozen dumplings. The dan dan noodle (13$) comes with an incredibly large portion that will catch you off guard. As for the taste it's again nothing worth mentioning. On the other hand, their walnut shrimp (16$) is pretty decent and is easily the best dish among the rest. The portion size left a bit to be desired but that doesn't make it taste less good.

Epic Dumpling is one of my absolute favorite spots, truly some of the best dumplings I’ve had. I go pretty frequently since it’s close to my job, and I’ve brought several coworkers here over time. Everyone always has great things to say about the food. The quality and flavor never disappoint. I’m not here to bash the food at all. it’s amazing!! However, I’ve recently had a frustrating experience with customer service. On multiple DoorDash orders, my requests for soy sauce and chili sauce were not included. Not a huge deal — I figured I’d just order pick up in person and ask directly. When I went in to pick up my order, the same gentleman who is usually at the front handed it to me. I asked for their in-store chili sauce, and he gave me a different packet-style sauce instead. I politely clarified that I was hoping for the house chili sauce they serve in-store, and he told me that sauce isn’t for to-go orders. The interaction felt very dismissive. As a regular paying customer who genuinely supports and recommends this place, I was taken aback. I could have easily just added the sauce to my food before leaving, but I didn’t want to overstep. It was disappointing to feel brushed off over something that seems small but matters to the overall experience. I truly hope they can elevate the customer service to match the quality of their delicious food, because the dumplings themselves are outstanding.
Dumplings is good, but need to be more careful on packing the to go order, this is the 2nd time we'd order, and both times there's mistakes had made, 1st time they gave us the dish wasn't what we order, and this time, they forgot to pack us the noodles (vegetarian mapo tofu fresh noodles). Also kind of salty.
Extremely dirty place. Staff are nice. However, they wear the same glove to clean tables, take away dirty dishes and to grab clean plates/utensil to set up tables. Pretty much cross contaminated everything. Don't see the staff changing gloves. Would be cleaner if they serve with disposable chopsticks. We were disgusted!
I visited yesterday, and had a terrible experience. The gentleman that helped us order our carry out was extremely rude. The food was very expensive $90 for two people. I’m ok with spending if the quality is there. It was not, the food was very mediocre. The worst part was when I was eating my very expensive meal my egg and tomato dish was filled with egg shells. I’m not talking one piece like I tried several bites and everyone had shells. Never returning.
First thing I one to said is I love the food that’s way I like to go every time, but some reason yesterday I was so happy to go to have lunch with my coworkers, and sprays the guys the same guys the always is so rude an was there the restaurant was busy I’m not complaining, but he see me and automatically said not table 🥹 me reaction was in shock cuz I see empty tables I that moment I just turn my self out cuz I feal disappointed and DIscriminated and my coworkers stay and the see was empty tables . And the guy said you can order only and you can take to go .😡😡😡😡😡😡really I never go back to this place my integrity as human not acceptable that we are in 2026 and still discrimination about my race cus I’m Latina
Ordered good amount of food but got disappointed like anything.. waste of money and time. Only good was crab meat dumplings with soup .. chicken chow mein is worse, kung pao chicken is also so bad in taste and please don’t don’t order chicken dumplings with corn. No salt nothing and is not properly cooked .. worse dinner ever
This place used to be truly Epic. Not sure if the ownership has changed recently. The food has gone from great to une Jiya ke. The dim sum was still ok but the fried rice, orange chicken and soup were worse than microwave food. Ambiance is non existing. Service is fast and they bring the food out super quick almost like they have it premade. This was our third visit and after 6-7 months but earlier it was an all women staff and the food was awesome. This time the quality of food has significantly degraded. Unless something changes we won’t be going here again
